Barbara Walters has “Mystery Man”?
Every few days or so I will check the celebrity photo sites to see if there are any of The View hosts to post. This morning I posted some of Barbara Walters at a Broadway premiere last night. I just came across these photos below. Although they are dated April 3rd, I assume they are from last night, April 2nd, because she is in the same outfit she wore to the premiere. The funniest part is that the photo site, PicApp, captioned the photos as “Barbara Walters Out On A Date With A Mystery Man.” Anyone recognize the man? They are leaving The Trump Hotel in the photos, where they reportedly had dinner.

Call me crazy, but he certainly is handsome! Hey - way to go babs!
April 3rd, 2009 at 9:04 pm
I’m wondering if this is just PR. He seems much too young for her - not that that is bad but eventually……and at 80………..
Certainly not like the age difference in MTM and her husband that met a long time ago at a younger age and have been together 20 some odd years.
Perhaps, BW just didn’t like hearing it broadcast that her relationship with the Dr ended a year ago. LOL
Or that she learned a lot from the Dr and is especially interested in the sex surveys for their tareget audience - 18-36 or something.
Or I could be just being mean here. She just seems very frail and I cannot buy this.
I think that although she does not lead a glamourous life she does have her walkers.
Sigh - to those younger here that means an escort. BG does that for her now and again.
Nevertheless, with the Rosie/Star stuff I think my Babs needs the PR. This stuff does not happen to her every day or that often.
LOL

“she does have her walkers”
LOVE IT! That’s what my mom called ’suitors’ as well!!! And to be honest, my parents once tried to set me up with a “suitable walker” while in University…it was horrible! She neglected to get the details on “walker man”…he showed up and was a good 4 inches shorter than me…and um, I’m 5′4″. But, he “came from a good family” according to my mom, so, I guess, in my mom’s eyes, he was “all right!”…LOL!
Her excuse…”well, he is a grad student at X and from what I heard, i thought he seemed like a lovely walker for events.” My response, “um mom, what events do you think I’m going to as a Freshman and do you really still think in that ‘good family’ kind of way?” Ahh, bless her soul, she meant well!
he was the child of a friend of one of my mom’s friend’s friend….crazy - right!?

Now that is hilarious gonnavent!

LOL - too funny. ‘walkers’ lol
April 4th, 2009 at 7:38 am
She looks good for her age, in a Nancy-Reagan-like way. Appears to be frail too.
April 4th, 2009 at 7:38 am
I laughed too. “Walkers”, lol
Thanks for sharing, gonnavent.
Based on the body language in the picture, it does not appear to me that this is a beau. They both look impersonal, and he looks like he’s doing a job. Course I’m just going by the photos above…
I thought Barb is already dating someone?

I am tired of BW in red, red, red. She has worn the color a lot the past few weeks and it is spring for pete’s sakes! She looks very Christmas-y but,of course, great for her age or any age. She drives me nutty but I give her lots of kudos for her appearance and her energy………
April 4th, 2009 at 9:11 am
Gonnavent - ‘walkers’ . Never heard that term.
lol.

Diane from N.J. Says:
“Gonnavent - ‘walkers’ . Never heard that term.”
lol.
RESPONSE ; I am a “tad” older than most of you. Therefore I thought she was using a medical walker !!!!!!
April 4th, 2009 at 12:29 pm
#8 lynn c: You’re right, red is more Christmas-y than springlike, and she has been drowning in red (accented with black)lately. Maybe Barbara has lost track of the seasons, and needs a gentle reminder:
BARBARA, GET WITH THE PROGRAM! The sun crossed the true celestial equator from south to north around March 20-21! SPRING has SPRUNG, so GET A CLUE, LAD-EE!

Maybe this guy and Barbara are doing each other a favor. Maybe he’s her walker and she’s his beard.

Dang you susieq….. I was doing my best to not have dirty thoughts about these posts…. but nooooooo you had to go and screw it up for me.
*grumble*
April 5th, 2009 at 5:49 am
I had to Google “beard” - it’s not dirty. Not like “tossed salad” or anything.
A “beard” is a gay man’s female walker/escort/suitor - a disguise to help him appear straight for intolerant eyes.
Learn something new every day on this site. ha

# 15 Kelly-
Thank you for the “beard” definition. YUP… learn something new every day on this site. LOL

susieq
idk how old you are but you get an extra brownie for knowing what a beard is and teaching kelly, marilyn and rog. loves it.
April 5th, 2009 at 11:53 am
Thanks Winnie,
Nope, no idea who the man may be.
I can be added to the list of taught,
I did not know what a beard or walker was.
April 5th, 2009 at 2:53 pm
Mibi, I’m 40, so I’m younger than Marilyn and Roger, and I think Sandy, because she’s mentioned grandkids but Kelly and I are close to the same age.
I didn’t know the terms “walker” and “beard” were so obscure. And I live in West Virginia where most people think a walker is the next step after a cane and a beard is a bib attached to your chin to catch any moonshine that might drip out of your mouth after chugging it from the jug.
If you live in WV you can make fun of it.

Didn’t know a “walker” is a gentleman escort.
But I am aware of what beard is (in the context susieq mentioned)
So I’m partially “hip”
(hip meaning cool)
April 6th, 2009 at 8:50 am
Since Im not a gay man… or intolerant, a beard is that thing that sits on your face.
since Im not a rich old lady, my first thought was a walker was something to help hold u up… a “gentleman escort” was always called a gigolo.
and just to have the facts out there… you are only 6 yrs older than me susieq

Roger - I wish I could say the same thing.

I am halfway between Joy and BW. We are keeping the blog “age diversified”…just like the panel on the view.

We are the elders in the blogosphere here. *LOL* Let’s at least TRY to not be agists…*winks* - Kelly tells me lots of her friends are *our* age. *grins*

I have not laughed so hard in a long time. I guess laughing at ourselves is the best way to survive this .. um… “time in my life”.

LOL!! if we didn’t laugh, we WOULD CRY! And we would Not be crying “the sky is falling, the sky is falling” - rather I’m crying “my face is falling, my face is falling” *LOL*
Ah well, I’ll take this over the *alternative* - that’s for sure.
Enjoy your evening, Marilyn - you made me laugh TWICE today now. *giggles*
