The poll is now closed and here are the results of the Watching the View “Who is Your Favorite Host?” poll. As you can see, Joy Behar was the winner, with 51% of the votes. Elisabeth Hasselbeck was second with 22% of the votes. Thanks for voting!

Today on The View, they will be announcing the nominees for the Daytime Emmy Awards.
Here is the official announcement about today’s show from ABC:
Mark your calendars! On Wednesday, April 30, nominees for the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be announced live on The View! Tune in for a soap-studded affair: Look for All My Children’s Rebecca Budig and Cameron Mathison (Greenlee Smythe and Ryan Lavery), One Life to Live’s Farah Fath and John-Paul Lavoisier (Gigi Morasco and Rex Balsom), The Biggest Loser host Allison Sweeney and her Days of our Lives co-star Bryan Dattilo (Sami DiMera and Lucas Horton), As The World Turns’ Van Hansis (Luke Snyder) and Guiding Light’s Marcy Rylan (Lizzie Spaulding) to participate. Plus: People magazine senior writer Mark D’Agostino will be on hand to give commentary and predictions based on the nominations.
The 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast LIVE on ABC Friday, June 20. The ceremony will be held in the Kodak Theater in Hollywood—the same place that houses the Academy Awards every year. The View has received 22 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Talk Show. Watch to see if the show and the ladies are up for the honor once again!
In honor of the upcoming Super Bowl, I was recently interviewed by Jodie at Gossip on Sports about my “encounter” with Tom Brady back in college.
If you want to read this two-part tongue-in-cheek interview (where I try to be funny!) go here:

Tom Brady Encounter: Part II

As you may have noticed, at some point last night, the comment problem was fixed. Now if you comment it should post immediately. That means, of course, that I will not be screening the comments before they post. As a result, comments of an insulting nature may start appearing again. I recommend you just ignore such comments and encourage you all to focus on the show and not insulting one another.
Here is the schedule for The View for next week, subject to change:
MONDAY, JAN. 28 – “Day of Real Life Hot Topics” with guests Al Sharpton, Bob Berkowitz (author, “He’s Just Not Up For It Anymore”), two women from “Super Skinny Me.”
TUESDAY, JAN. 29 - Epatha Merkerson (“Law & Order”) two time Chili cook-off champion and owner of Cin Chili, Cindy Reed Wilkins prepares her award-winning dish.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 30 - Jonny Lee Miller (ABC’s “Eli Stone”); musical guest Sarah Brightman.
THURSDAY, JAN. 31 – Dr. Phil McGraw (“Dr. Phil”); Elizabeth Mitchell (ABC’s “Lost”).
FRIDAY, FEB. 1 – Julianne Moore; Toni Braxton; a musical performance from the cast of Broadway’s “The Little Mermaid.”
Last summer I tried to take a page from Rosie’s book and start an “Ask Winnie” feature. The idea was to have the readers ask questions and I would answer a select few. This was back when I did podcasts. If you missed all of that, you can check out the podcasts here (although the material is a bit outdated now).
I would like to try to get this feature going again, although I am not sure if I will answer the questions in text or start doing the podcasts again. Maybe if you have a preference you can let me know when you submit your questions.
Send your questions to askwinnie(at)gmail.com, but replace the (at) with @.
It is one of Joy Behar’s favorite places outside of The View, and tonight Elisabeth Hasselbeck will have her turn on Larry King, Live. Although, unlike Joy, she will be not be guest hosting, but will merely be a guest. That means that I actually have to watch an hour of Larry King, the man.
Thanks for the tip from reader BigMama.
Several of you have agreed that a scheduled chat time would be a great opportunity to guarantee that you won’t be the only one hanging out in the chat room. (Believe me, I have been there and it can be lonely).
To that end, I am proposing that this first scheduled chat take place this afternoon at 4:00 p.m eastern time/3:00 p.m central time. If nothing else, I will be there, so stop by and say hi!
You can get to the chat room here or by clicking the link in the sidebar (down near the Rock the Vote graphic).
I have tried very hard since the beginning of this blog to make this a fun, open, place where people can come talk about The View, whether they love it or hate it. I have allowed debates on the issues that they talk about on the show, or the ones that they failed to talk about. I allowed comments against Rosie, comment against Elisabeth. All of that I welcome.
However, I will not allow this blog to become a place for insulting one another. From this point forward, any comments that are attacks of a personal nature against another commenter will not be allowed. These types of comments have been coming from more than one person, some in response to other insults, some seemingly unprovoked. Whatever the reason, they will no longer be tolerated. I am tired of reading them and I sure many of the other readers feel the same.
Of course feel free to continue to disagree with people on issues, that is not what I am trying to prevent. I simply want an end to the name-calling. I believe that all of you read the comments know what I am talking about.
If you have any problems with this new comment policy, please feel to write me via the contact me section on the sidebar (I disabled comments on this post). The official comment policy can be read here.
Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know that if you have posted a comment today or in the last few days and it didn’t show up, it is because my spam filter has kicked into overdrive and thinks everyone is spam.
If you post a comment today and it doesn’t show up, please email me using the “contact me” button in the sidebar and I can go rescue your comment from the filter.
Sorry for any inconvenience!
Today’s recap won’t be up until later tonight. Feel free to comment about your thoughts about today’s show in the comment section.
Guests today: Queen Latifah, Gabrielle Union; guest host Sara Evans

From Reality on Bravo:

Whether you’re a believer or not, astrology can be really, really interesting. Here at 451 Press, we have a whole blog dedicated to that art. Beth, from Astrology Watch, is one of the best bloggers we have, and although time restraints have kept her from participating in Project Blog, she has graciously donated a prize for you guys to win - a free mini-reading.
I’m pretty excited about this prize, because it is a bit different from what we have been doing. Instead of winning an item, you’re winning a deeper look at yourself. And that’s super-cool, in my opinion.
Want a chance to win this week’s prize? OF COURSE YOU DO. You can enter up to THREE times this week.
* For one chance, leave a comment on this post on Reality on Bravo with one thing that you’ve learned from Beth’s site.
* For a second chance, blog about this contest on your own site and email the link to me at allison.boyer-at-yahoo-dot-com.
* Want a third chance? Vote for your favorite in our Project Blog competition, and leave a comment showing support! The winner will be drawn at random from all qualifying entries. You can vote once per day for your favorite (and please do), and you can comment once on this post link (will go live on Thursday). Please note that comments on other posts on Reality on Bravo are not considered as entries.
The winner will be drawn at random from all qualifying entries, so get your comments and posts in today! (Deadline for commenting and posting is Monday, December 17 at noon EST)
Today’s recap of The View will not be up until later tonight. In the meantime, feel free to leave your thoughts on today’s episode in the comments section.
Also, don’t forget to enter the Watching the View holiday contest! To enter you just have to let me know what gift you would give any of the host of The View and why. For all the details check out this post.
It is once again contest time here at Watching the View! In honor of the season, this contest will be holiday themed to get as all in the mood for this festive time of year.
Rather than a prize like a mug as I have had for previous contests, the prizes for this contest is money!
Here are the details:
HOW TO ENTER: Leave a comment on this blog entry or send an e-mail to winnieblogs(at)gmail.com (replace the (at) with @) in which you name one current host of The View, what holiday present you would buy them and why. Your entry can be humorous, sincere, or wacky–whatever you choose. The deadline is Monday December 10th at 12:00 p.m. central time. Only one entry person please.
HOW TO WIN: I will chose one 1st place winner based on my own personal, subjective view of all of the entries. A second winner will be chosen via a random drawing of all of the remaining eligible entries.
THE PRIZES: First place will win $50. Second place will win $25. Any applicable taxes are the responsibility of the winners. If you win, in order to receive the money, you must have a valid paypal account. The prize money is coming directly from 451 Press, so this is how it has to be done. If you are one of the winners, I will e-mail you and you must reply with your valid paypal e-mail address in order for me to give you the prize.
Questions? Leave in the comments or email me at winnieblogs(at)gmail.com. (replace (at) with @). Good luck!
I also have another contest going on at my Chicago blog. Be sure to check that one out too!
