The View September 26th Recap: Julianne Moore and Candace Bushnell

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Today on The View, in this new, but pre-taped episode, the four main hosts were present, without Barbara Walters. Whoopi Goldberg was wearing a brown dress today, with black tights, and brown shoes. Joy Behar asked her if wearing dresses this week changed her. She joked she was “much more weepy” and was “chilly in areas she didn’t go she could be chilly in.” In all seriousness, she said that she was not changed and she would be happy to go back to her regular clothes.

The first topic was tonight’s debate. (The show was taped earlier this week so there was no discussion about whether it will happen or not). Sherri said that she was excited to see the debate. Elisabeth said that she is ready for it, because she has has “electionitis” and wants to hear from the actual candidates. She predicts that John McCain “will do quite well,” and Barack Obama “will hang in there, too.” Elisabeth said that foreign policy experience is a huge strength of his. Whoopi said she doens’t know if it is a huge strength and both candidates have some foreign policy experience and everyone has met with with world leaders. Elisabeth said that Barack took a field trip and had a free concert in Germany and that is not experience. Whoopi said it is more experience than Sarah Palin has and Elisabeth said that she is not running for president.

Whoopi said that none of them will have the experience that a president will have and no one is ready for the job until they have it, like Bill Clinton said. Joy said that she looks at “temperament, judgment, and intelligence.” Whoopi joked that none of them would be in then. Joy said that she think that Barack Obama has those qualities, but McCain does not have a good temperament. Elisabeth said that she doesn’t understand why people keep talking about McCain’s temper. Joy said that his own colleagues, like Pat Buchanan have talked about it.

The View September 25th Recap: Chandra Wilson and Paris Hilton

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Today on The View, Barbara Walters was absent, but Paris Hilton was at the table for the first hot topic segment. Joy Behar said that Paris looks beautiful and joked that she is surprised that John McCain did not pick her for Vice President. She has a new show called “My New BFF” where people auditioned to be her best friend. Joy asked if they will be real friends. Paris said that they are real and and she has made good friends with several of them. The quality that she looks for in a friend is that they really want to be her friend and are not users. Paris said she was turned off if the people said they were into paprazzi. Whoopi asked if there were any people who were too old? Paris said that there was a cute 78 year-old woman who auditioned, but MTV has an age limit. Joy asked if she worries about getting old. Paris said she is not scared to get old and is looking forward to having grand kids. They showed the video she made for “Funny or Die” where she pretended that she was running for president. She made it in response to John McCain’s use of her in a campaign commercials. Joy asked if she could vote because she was in the slammer. Whoopi said that she thinks that is only for felonies. Joy asked Paris, “So was yours a misdemeanor?” and Paris said, “No, it was driving with a suspended license.”

The next topic was John McCain suspending his campaigning to focus on the economic bail-out and he wants the debate postponed. Joy said that it is a political move, but she doesn’t want to be too predictable in what she says. Joy said that he has been there to vote lately and now all of a sudden he has to go vote. She said that then he will take credit for fixing it. She wants to watch the debate and has company coming to watch. Sherri said that we only have 40 days and she has been looking forward to the debates. She said that as president you have to be able to do more than one thing at a time. Elisabeth said that this is why people love John McCain because he acknowledges it is his not his job as Senator to do nothing. They need him to get the bill passed because the Republicans could block it. He will push aside party lines to get that done and she loves that about McCain. Joy asked if it has anything to do with the poll numbers.

John McCain canceled on David Letterman and he made the point that as president you can do more things at once and that is when your VP should come in and pick up the slack. She said that we haven’t heard from Palin and we don’t know if she can pick up the slack. Joy said that they should be flexible and put Joe Biden and Sarah Palin on tomorrow. Elisabeth said that they could. She then added that while everyone is hungry to see a debate, there are things that are bigger than what is planned and on paper and on our television schedules and dinner menus.

Joy asked if it scared anyone that George Bush was on TV talking about rushing into a solution. She said that it was deja vu, like the panic after mentioning WMD. Whoopi said it is important that Obama and McCain are there to do what we elected them to do and the debates will happen eventually.

They thanked Paris for being on and encouraged people to watch her new MTV reality show I Wanna Be Paris’ Best Friend.

Whoopi went to a dinner for the White Ribbon Alliance, which was in support of safe childbirth throughout the world. She said that it was all women, including every female prime minister, as well as wives of prime minister and it was “an extraordinary gathering of women.” She wondered how it has taken the United States so long to have a female leader. Sarah Palin made an appearance there, but left very quickly. She said that the caption in the NY Post said that she attended the dinner, but she was not really there very long. Whoopi wanted her to speak and does not know why she did not. Elisabeth tried to call the Palin camp this morning to see why she did not speak and someone said that she made a point to be there for the time that she could, but did not have more time to stay. Joy said that we will see if the excuse keeps coming up that she is too busy. She wants to see Palin on Meet the Press. Elisabeth said, “She’ll be there.” Whoopi said that back in the day when she used to be a big movie star, she would make a point to speak for a moment at events to just say that she was sorry she could not stay longer. She said it would have made a big difference if Palin would have at least done that. Elisabeth said maybe she wanted the other women to have their moment. Whoopi said that these were the world leaders that she was in NYC to meet and they thought she was going to say a few words.

Talking about Palin, Joy said that the president of Pakistan “practically jumped her bones” and told her she was gorgeous. Joy said, “What is this, American Idol?” Sherri said that Palin did not ask to be a good looking woman and can’t tell world leaders not to tell her she is good looking. Whoopi wonders if Palin said, “What the Hell?” to herself. Elisabeth said that she’s sure he said the same thing to Senator Clinton when she was there, with a smirk on her face. Whoopi told her to take the dagger out of her hand.

There is a video of a Kenyan Bishop giving Sarah Palin a blessing to banish witchcraft. Sherri said it was “cool” that they prayed over her. Whoopi said it is usually for witchcraft? Sherri and Elisabeth said that they do that to ban any evil. Whoopi said that she was not being facetious and she doesn’t know these things. Joy said that it is not just moose we have to worry about up there, but also witches. Elisabeth said, “I would just like to formally welcome everyone to hate Sarah Palin Day on The View.” Whoopi said she was not hating on Palin and she (Whoopi) is a heathen and does not know about these things. Sherri told Elisabeth that Whoopi does not know what happens in church, so it is not right to say she is hating on Palin.

Joy said that it is the country she is worried about, “Don’t you get that, yet?” She said that she not care about Sarah Palin personally. Elisabeth asked what she thinks about Joe Biden saying that the idea of taxes are supported by his Catholic faith. Joy said that she had not heard that before and that, hearing it now, it bothers her a lot. She does not think God and religion should be involved in political conversation. Whoopi said that they would be having the same discussion if Barack Obama was getting prayed over to remove witchcraft. Joy added, looking at Elisabeth, “And you wouldn’t be defending it.” Elisabeth said that she is for any prayer that banishes evil. Joy said that the preacher also prayed for her election and to bring her money. Elisabeth said that you can pray for anything and she could pray that she gets a new shirt tomorrow.

When they cam back from commercial, Elisabeth was pretending to read Barbara’s book Audition. Elisabeth will be on Mike Huckabee’s new show on Saturday at 8pm eastern on Fox News and it will re-air again on Sunday in prime time.

Elisabeth talked about the David Blaine and his “dive of death.” She said it was annoying because she waiting up late and there was no death. Then he magically disappeared and she hopes he ends up at Wall Street and does some magic there. Whoopi said that was not a dive, it was a bungee jump. Then, following a lengthy disclaimer read by Whoopi, they showed a clip of him catching a bullet in his teeth. Whoopi said it is an illusion. She think what was fired and what he showed in his mouth were two different things. Sherri was not that impressed by it and would prefer a man has good credit. Whoopi wished her man could catch a bullet in case someone comes up to them on the street and threatens them with a gun.

Sherri was upset at the playground where she took Jeffrey and her stepson. It was a toddler park, but two older boys were using the tire swing. She asked two older boys if her kids could use the tire swing and they back-talked and told her that they were using it. Sherri was shocked at the way that they spoke to her. Whoopi said, “Where have you been?” and added that the moms were probably afraid of their boys. She said that parents want their kids to like them and won’t “upset” the children by telling them they are doing something wrong. Elisabeth told Sherri next time to tell the kids that they are giving away free ice cream and the kids will run to get it.

Prior to the next segment, Whoopi said in case there is a question about whether she is wearing a dress or a skirt, it is a dress, but with a t-shirt over it.

Chandra Wilson from Grey’s Anatomy appeared on the show to discuss tonight’s season premiere. She has three children. Her almost three-year-old is starting to get a little territorial with his things. His birthday is Halloween and he thinks that everyone celebrates for him. He has started being more daredevil and is throwing himself around a lot. They showed a picture of her HS graduation picture.

She was recently nominated for the third time for an Emmy. They showed her outfit from the Emmy Awards. Whoopi said that the show is amazing and it is well-written and brilliant.

Chandra said that all the cases are based on real cases, but she doesn’t know anything about medicine. She said people should call someone else and not get medical information from the show. Sometimes people will joke with her by asking her about a medical problem. She wants to be as assertive as her character.

She is spokesperson for Lee National Denim Day, which is October 3rd. It is to raise money for cancer research. You can donate $5 and then wear jeans to work as a rebellion.

They showed a clip from tonight’s episode. Sherri asked if her character will find some love this season. Her priority is to let people know she is a strong surgeon and she will get to her therapy and her family issues after that.

The next segment featured Rachel Zalis and Emmy lookalike fashions. The showed dresses that look like ones worn by Teri Hatcher, Vanessa Williams, Brooke Shields, Marcia Cross, and Christina Applegate at the Emmy Awards this past Sunday.

The View September 23rd Recap: Aaron Eckhart and Robert Wagner

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Today on The View, all five hosts were present again. For her second day of “Whoopi Wears a Dress” week, Whoopi Goldberg had on a purpley dress with a small print, black tights, and shiny gray shoes. She said “I hate this,” and “I am in agony” meaning having to wear a dress, not that one in particular one. She said the outfit is too tight and you could see gas if it moved around her belly. Joy wore a Whoopi like long-sleeve button shirt and vest. She said it makes her look fatter and she is not comfortable.

The first topic was the Bill Clinton interview yesterday. Elisabeth Hasselbeck said that after the interview a secret service guy said, “You weren’t that bad.” She thought that Bill was a nice, thoughtful guy and she bonded with him over football and the fact that Chelsea does not eat gluten either. Bill told Sherri she is really funny and that he saw her in Beauty Shop and twice in Whose Your Caddy?

Barbara said that people thought they were hard on John McCain and Cindy McCain when they were on. She said that they were strong questions, but that they all have the utmost respect for them. She “fervently” hopes there are no hard feelings.

The View September 22nd Recap: Bill Clinton

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Today on The View, all five hosts were present. Whoopi Goldberg was wearing a dress today as part of “Whoopi Wears a Dress” week. It was a black long-sleeve plain dress. She also wore black tights and red shoes (that matched her necklace). Joy Behar said she wants to start dressing comfortably like Whoopi. Whoopi told her she will never go back. Whoopi said she doesn’t care for dressing up. Sherri said Whoopi looks sexy. Whoopi said Sherri is really desperate if she is looking good to her. Barbara Walters pointed out that she and Elisabeth Hasselbeck matched today and it is because they love each other.

Barbara Walters was in Jimmy Kimmel’s Emmy pre-show, which was a parody of her Academy Award specials. Barbara said it was mean, but funny. She did an opening part for the show, in which she says it should not be mistaken for her specials. She also plugged her book and encouraged people to watch something else.

The View September 19th Recap: David Schwimmer, Josh Lucas, and Leighton Meester

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Today on a pre-taped, but new, episode of The View, Barbara Walters was absent. Sherri Shepherd was sporting some silver leggings that looked straight out of the 80s fashion show from earlier this week.

A new survey says that 35% of PDA and Blackberry users would chose their device over their spouse. Joy Behar said her addiction is “getting bad” and she sleeps with it next to her. Sherri Shepherd said the only way to get a hold of her is texting her and she will check it at 2:00am if it vibrates. Whoopi said it used to be that the last thing you did at night was your husband, now it is checking Blackberry. She is not going to get on the Blackberry bandwagon herself and asked Joy if she takes it to the bathroom. Joy said, “of course.” Elisabeth agreed you need to maximize your time on the can. She also sends texts while she is jogging. Joy said she cannot text while walking because she would fall. Elisabeth said she has to be careful to not ignore the children in order to check the Blackberry. Sherri said that people don’t really get mad anymore if you use it at the dinner table anymore. Whoopi said she better not have dinner with her.

The View September 18th Recap: Jason Biggs and Dave Stewart

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Today on The View, Barbara Walters was absent, so it was just four hosts. The first topic was the announcement that Bill Clinton will be the guest on Monday’s View. Joy Behar said that is one politician she can embrace. Sherri Shepherd had her hair up and was wearing glasses and Elisabeth and Joy teased her that she looked like Sarah Palin. Sherri said that she was going for more of an Audrey Hepburn look. Elisabeth said, “Another one of my favorite women.” Sherri said that with the glasses she was trying to look more studious because is trying to learn about politics. Joy said you are imitating Sarah who is also trying to learn. Elisabeth rolled her eyes and froze in a really weird facial expression.

A recent article said that kids learn more than when they lose because it puts things in perspective. Whoopi said that she remembers losing was part of life. Elisabeth said that now everyone gets a trophy even if they lose because it rewards the effort and the spirit of the game. Joy asked her what she learned by losing Survivor. She said not to do it again. Sherri said that she was told that there is no growth with the absence of pain. Whoopi said losing should not be painful, but it should make you want to do better. Elisabeth said it can give you drive. Joy said her dad always said he lost at the ponies and that is what she calls a loser. Sherri said maybe he had his own personal goals. Joy said that when you are a compulsive gambler, noting that she and Whoopi have those tendencies, it about the high and wanting to keep playing. Whoopi said that she has a lot of money, so she can gamble a lot and she is not risking money for her kids or the mortgage. Joy joked that maybe Lehman Brothers should have taken a lesson from her.

The View September 16th Recap: Tom Bergeron and Michelle Rodriguez

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Today on The View, all five hosts were at the table. Joy Behar said she still has a bad cold, but is not contagious. She said she “croaked through 45 minutes” at her stand-up performance with Whoopi on Saturday.

Barbara Walters went to see Celine Dion last night at Madison Square Garden. She said Celine is “just the nicest lady” and does a great act. Sherri Shepherd said if you think about the sound of angels singing, that is Celine’s voice. Barbara ate a whole box of popcorn. Barbara gained three pounds from eating the popcorn. She had lost weight, almost 15 pounds and it took a year to lose it. Whoopi joked she was “looking a little chunky” and joked she only weighed 21 pounds to begin with. Sherri said Barbara’s butt looks good. Joy said Barbara gains her weight in her boobs and that is what her husbands liked. She said if a man likes flat-chested woman, you should see if he is gay.

Whoopi revisited yesterday’s topic of she and Sherri getting poor cable service. DirectTV and Time Warner (she did not say the names today) came to the rescue. Whoopi said that the companies should treat everyone with the kind of service they gave her and Sherri yesterday. Sherri said they sent the cutest guys to her house to work on her cable. Whoopi said “desperate women will accept anything” and then said she meant desperate for cable.

The View’s McCain Interview: The After-Math

Monday, September 15th, 2008

Following the John McCain and Cindy McCain interview on The View on Friday, there has certainly been a lot of response, both positive and negative. This will no doubt make Barbara Walters very happy. I am predicting that if she is on The View today, she will certainly bring up all the attention that The View has garnered over the weekend, perhaps showing some newspaper headlines. Part of me wonders if she may also feel compelled to make a comment about how she is a journalist and it is her role to ask tough questions, in order to stave off criticism that she was too harsh. I hope she does not make such an apology, but that type of statement might be necessary in her eyes in order to one day get Sarah Palin on the show.

Here are some highlights of the View/McCain aftermath:

ABC, Cindy McCain criticized the interview that took place on The View on Friday. She told supporters that the hosts of The View, “picked our bones clean.”

Watching the View received a record number of visitors in one day on Friday, including a large amount of new visitors and commenters. The amount of negativity and hate against the show and its hosts beat the positive comments about 5-1. Many of the comments were not approved due to vulgar language, racist comments, and overall disgusting-ness. Others were not approved because they violated our comment policy right off the bat. I figure if someone cannot follow the rules on their very first comment, they should not be permitted to post.

The Nation asked: “Thank God for Barbara Walters?” in their article on the John McCain interview. (Thanks to several of you who sent me the link).

The New York Times asserted: “The View Couch Not So Cozy for McCain.”

Hannity & Colmes headline: “Claws Come Out.” (That link also has a video of the discussion on that show).

The View September 12th Recap: John McCain and Cindy McCain

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Despite the fact that it is Friday, a day that is usually pre-taped, today’s episode of The View was live. All five hosts were present for today’s episode. They were all wearing black and white.

The first topic was Sarah Palin’s interview last night. Barbara said that John McCain said that he will get Palin to come onto The View. Sherri thinks that Palin is a “formidable woman,” but the interview reminded her of being in the principal’s office. She noted that Palin spoke well and did not use any “ahhs” or “uhhs.” Elisabeth said that some people are saying that the interview was too hard, but it should be hard, because it is not a date. Joy wonders if they would say it was “too tough” if she was not a woman? Barbara said she was “very well briefed.” She said she did not know what the “Bush doctrine,” is but everyone in government does not. Joy said that everyone in government is not running for VP. Joy said saying you are ready does not mean it is true. She could say that she (Joy) is ready to be a model, but it isn’t true. Elisabeth said she has run a state. Barbara said that we need not go through the whole litany again.

Whoopi said the interview didn’t do anything for her and did not feel engaged in the conversation. She doesn’t like that they split the interview into 48 parts. Barbara said she doesn’t know whose decision it was to break it up into sections of sitting and walking. Whoopi thought it was too tense and rehearsed and there was no relaxed part of it. Joy said it was very strict and severe, but they tried to act like it was relaxed by having them walking. Whoopi wants to tell Palin that if you aren’t sure of the answer, do not keep repeating the same phrase over again. Elisabeth said all the politicians do that. Whoopi said she is supposed to be different kind of politician. Joy wants to see the interviews unedited. Barbara saw the unedited version and they didn’t take out anything important, but that Palin had a really long answer which was not shown prior to Charlie Gibson saying he got lost in all the words.

The View September 11th Recap: Jessica Simpson and Tyler Perry

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Today on the September 11th episode of The View, all five hosts were present. They began the show by acknowledging the anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Whoopi asked where they all were that day. Barbara Walters had an assignment that day to talk to families of the survivors. Elisabeth was in Los Angeles. Joy was in make-up room that day at The View. She noted that she is losing her voice today and joked it was God’s will. Sherri said that God wants her to scream from the mountain tops. Joy said that she still gets chills every year and pointed it out that it is always a nice day on the anniversary. Sherri did a comedy show that night and it was the most crowded it had ever been because people needed to laugh. Whoopi was doing interviews in LA following the completion of taping of Hollywood Squares. When she first saw it on the television, she thought it was a movie. She stayed in LA, but let people use her bus to get back to NYC.

Elisabeth was in the park with the kids last week and heard shouting. It was 100 Army people working out. Elisabeth yelled “woo!” at them. She explained to Grace that they were working to protect us. Grace asked why they needed protection. She told them that they have been working seven years to keep us safe. She didn’t want to give her fear because children will have their own fears. Grace then turned and said, “Woo!” at the Army people. Sherri said she held Jeffrey a little closer today. Joy’s daughter was on a plane on 9/11 getting ready to go to Canada. Joy called her and told her to get off the plane and she did. The stewardess did not know or was not telling the passengers. Whoopi said today is the day that you recognize that we are all American. Barbara said that although many people are critical of President Bush, whatever has happened, we have not been attacked in the past seven years and they should give credit where credit is due. They all agreed.

The View September 8th Recap: Brad Garrett

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Today on The View, Barbara Walters was absent. They talked about how the set background changed from purple to yellow which they liked better. (I liked the purple, personally, but no one asked me)

Whoopi Golberg’s last night at Xanadu was last night. She is exhausted. Elisabeth Hasselbeck pointed out how close Whoopi had gotten with the cast. Joy recommended community theater to people, as did Whoopi, because it is a great experience and you can meet interesting people. Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters went to see Whoopi in the show together. They also had lunch together and it messed with Sherri’s head that she was having lunch with one of the top 100 most powerful women. Barbara told Sherri not to read bad press and gave her advice on being a single mom. She wants to have a pajama party with Barbara.

Joy will be on Larry King Live tomorrow night as a guest.

The Video Music Awards were last night. Whoopi thought Britney Spears looked “terrific.” Sherri said for awhile there people were worried about her but she looked “so good.” Joy jokingly asked if she had a baby on her lap. They showed a clip of her winning an award, thanking her beautiful children. Joy said she is waiting for someone to come on TV and thank their “ugly children.” They then talked about cute babies and ugly babies. Sherri said Jeffrey had such a big forehead, it was a “fivehead,” but he grew hair so he looks better now. Whoopi said her daughter looked like Mao when she was born and she kept trying to give her back to her real mother. Joy said her daughter is beautiful now but looked like Nikita Khrushchev when she was born. Elisabeth said that Grace looks just like Tim, but that Taylor looks Elisabeth’s grandfather.

The View September 5th Recap: Adrian Grenier, Niecy Nash, and Chelsea Handler

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Today on The View, comedian Chelsea Handler guest hosted to fill in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck who went to the Republican National Convention. {I am assuming the show was taped Thursday afternoon.} Chelsea’s book, Are you there vodka? It’s me, Chelsea has been on the NY Times best seller list since it came out. She joked that she was on the list with Barbara Walters and they have similar writing styles; Barbara writes about the world leaders she interviewed, while Chelsea writes about the people she slept with. Sherri pointed out that Barbara wrote about having an affair with a Black man. Chelsea that she, too, has had sex with Black men.

Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg will be doing stand-up at Foxwoods next weekend and in October. Following their act they will be doing a Q&A with the audience. Whoopi tried to read the information about it on the teleprompter and messed up. Although it was bleeped, I think she actually said “Fuckswood” instead of “Foxwood.”

Sherri lost her cell phone at Toys R Us and the wireless provider told her that someone was using her phone. She e-mailed the phone and the woman using it said that she paid for it, buying it from a woman who said it was her aunt’s phone. Sherri asked to buy the phone back. The woman would e-mail her and tell her who had called her. Sherri went to Bronx where the woman lived to get her phone back. She said that only in New York are people so nice, although all her pictures of Jeffrey were deleted.

The View September 4th Recap: Terrence Howard and Audrina Patridge

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Today on the September 4th episode of The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck was not present because she will be at the Republican National Convention later today. Sherri Shepherd was absent yesterday because it was Jeffrey’s first day of school. He was fine, but she didn’t want to leave him. She felt a “pang” that he didn’t cry or anything and it took her six tries to leave. When he got home, he kept saying he wanted to go to school. The school is for children who have developmental delays and she feels good leaving him there.

Sarah Palin gave her speech last night at the convention. Barbara Walters said she was “just wonderful” no matter what her views were and it will be tough for Joe Biden to debate her. Sherri was disappointed that she made fun of Barack Obama’s job as a community avtivist, which he did when he could have taken a high paying job instead. He was serving his country. Sherri broke down when Palin said that people who have a special needs children have a friend in her. Joy said she was great and could be a comedian because she has great timing. Joy thinks that men are attracted to her and she is like a librarian who has the hair up and then takes it down and “va va va voom.” She said that might be sexist, but that men did not find Hillary Clinton attractive.

Whoopi thought it was a good speech and she came out strong. She gave information we would not have known before. She was also bothered by the slighting of Barack’s role as a community organizer. Whoopi was really aggravated when Palin said she had to explain to her opponents what a mayor is and that community organizers don’t have actual responsibilities. Whoopi said that it is often the activists who are getting information back to the mayor about what is going on in the city. They liked the clip of the little daughter holding the baby and fixing his hair with spit. Barbara said it may cost her an interview, but read from an article that said that as governor, Palin raised taxes, pursued pork belly projects, looked into banning books, and thinks the Iraq war is God’s will. Palin also recently cut funding for teen mothers who don’t have a place to live. Barbara said that none of those things were addressed in her speech.

Videos of The View September 3rd: Hot Topics and Adele

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

In lieu of my complete written recap please enjoy these videos from the September 3rd episode of The View. There are four videos of the extended hot topics that they had today. Prior to the videos I have written a brief recap of what happened before the discussion in the first clip. The last video is the musical performance by singer Adele. Although Maura Tierney was scheduled for today, I guess that she got bumped or canceled at the last minute. If anyone was looking forward to her appearance, I will let you know if she is rescheduled.
*****
Today on The View, Sherri Shepherd was absent because she was taking her son Jeffrey to his first day of school. They talked about how school starts younger these days. Joy Behar said she had to sing Italian songs in Kindergarten to get cookies and milk.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck went to see Whoopi Goldberg in Xanadu last night and had a lot fun. Whoopi is only in the show through Sunday. Elisabeth said that Whoopi shares a dressing room and bathroom with her cast mates there, even though she is famous enough to have gotten a trailer. Joy was skeptical of a trailer at Broadway. Whoopi said that it was love that Elisabeth went to see Whoopi rather than stay at home and watch the Republican convention.
