Contest reminder and October 10th comment area

by Winnie McCarthy

Thus far, I have had zero entries in the Watching the View trivia contest! Did you all forget about it? Are the questions too hard? Are you just not the contest-entering type? For all the details on the contest, check out this post.

Also, today’s recap will be tardy again (sorry!). Until I get it up tonight, feel free to comment here with your thoughts on the show.

  1. May Says:

Hot topics today was a tad more interesting to me since they were discussing drunk driving. EH suggested that the legal age for drinking for service guys should be lowered so they could come back and open a brewski at age 18. Sherri said that kids that age still don’t have real good coordination while driving. Tracy Morgan said that after being caught with a d.u.i. he had to wear a monitor around his ankle and said that he would like to see all alcohol done away with. As per usual, EH was slinging that hair around, tossing her “I’m so darn cute listen to me” attitude..barf. Elmo was adorable.

Isn’t it time for her to take maternity leave already?

  3. Shannon Says:

I didn’t want a View mug so I skipped over it thinking someone that wanted it should win it!

  4. May Says:

“Isn’t it time for her to take maternity leave already?”

Some time ago EH said the baby was due in November. Seems like last time she waited till the last minute to leave. Oh and today she said her hubby has a “full head of hair and a pony tail” when Joy suggested some men grow a pony tail when they are getting bald.

  5. Sarah Says:

“Isn’t it time for her to take maternity leave already?”

I’ve started a little countdown to her maternity leave. Her baby is due on November 11th. So that means we only have to watch her in 22 more episodes (unless of course we get lucky and the baby comes a little bit early).

  6. Stacee Says:

May, actually, she said her *dad* has a full head of hair with a small ponytail. That would have been a huge flub if she said Tim, lol but she didn’t ;)

The show was again slow. Also why can’t they seem to shake that tenseness that is continually in the air?

I like Tracey Morgan. I think he’s so funny. But even that portion was uncomfortable at times. I know I keep saying it but there seems to be a lack of flow on the show now. You’d think Sherri, who has worked with Tracy, would have taken the reigns in interviewing but I felt nothing of substance come her way. Whoopi - as hard as she tries - seems so bored most of the time.

And frankly both Whoopi and Sherri seemed more alive and interesting when they were guest hosts as opposed to permanents.

  7. Sandy Says:

    I didn’t get to see today’s show.
I sure don’t agree with EH. that the age for drinking should be lowered to 18 for service men and women, or for anyone. It’s not only their coordination, but a young person’s judgement isn’t sound at 18. Not even at 21 according to scientific findings I’ve read.
That’s not to say that someone 21 can’t be responsible and have a drink in the right setting. It’s just our young people have enough problems, issues, peer pressure, and decisions to make about life at the age of 18, why give them more to struggle with.

. “EH suggested that the legal age for drinking for service guys should be lowered so they could come back and open a brewski at age 18.”

How about raising the age for these young people to enlist? I put my son on a list at his school, where the recruiters aren’t allowed to approach him.

  9. dyhanne Says:

I wonder if EH will have the same views when her children reach the drinking and driving age. Or maybe we should be like some countries and allow children to drink all the time. NY state raised the drinking age really weird. I was 18-allowed to drink, NYS raised it to 19-was allowed to drink for 3 months than raised it to 21. I thought it was a horrible thing at 18. I now have a 18 yr old daughter and are glad that it is 21.
EH should remember that age does effect ones thinking process.

  10. Meredith Says:

Even though she hates being reminded her age affects her thinking process. ha

  11. Peaches Says:

Winnie, I appreciated your idea of having a contest for the mug … I just couldn’t answer any of the questions without having searched for them…… Now if you had a contest that tracks EH’s comments about politics, I could probably win that one hands-down!
