I’m not very proud of myself, but when I see EH I want to run the other way - including when she is doing good. It won’t turn me off to supporting Breast Cancer Awareness, but I turn away from things while she is advancing them. I think it’s called “the cringe factor.

The way she delivered that was really really bad. I was half expecting a clown to jump out of a box at any moment the way she was winding it up. You are talking about cancer, not sports scores or some insider scoop, the tone was just way off.

oh god,
atleast she did it.

All the wonderful women and men that have been, inflicted with this cancer.
To all the saviours, my sister being one of the lucky ones.
SOMEONE, please explain to me, HOW, WHY??
Why is EH, asked to make this statement?
What is her knowledge, other than Googling the subject.
My sister was 2000 miles away from our family. Her husband and she, never told any of the family, until she was in remission. She did not want to worry us.

I wasn’t done, AOL is really getting on my nerves.
In light of her constant, lack of respect,
narrow mind, self-absorbed personality.
(I wanted to type, survivor’s, not saviours.)
Seeing her, really ticked me off.
God forbid, this cancer would happen to her,
she would blame the D.
Not even funny, but she needs to be accountable, for her remarks.
It is sad, she is receiving so much press.
To the people battling, Cancer in any form,
my family had almost every form.
I pray for you.

Caty?
did you just say you want EH to get breat cancer?
i wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy.
September 30th, 2008 at 10:18 pm
Jenny, how did you get that from what she wrote?
And Caty, if I remember right…I think Elisabeth has several family members that have fought breast cancer, including her Mom but I’m not sure.
I just thought she had zilch emotion or conviction when reading that and it sounded more like she was about to announce a new game show or something, it was really bad.

Jenny,
I typed -
“God forbid, this cancer would happen to her,
she would blame the D.”
I WOULD NEVER, wish that on anyone. You need to re-read the entire email.
My father passed away almost two years ago, at 82 years. He was the third youngest of 12 children. Check the math. My great-aunt is in a nursing home in PA, 105.
My Pops parents, died in their home, Pop Pop, died of Colon cancer, Grandma, stomach cancer.
My Pops family had no money, to seek outside help or a facility, was not an option.
We visited every Sunday, to watch Grandma dying. I would pick up her favorite cats and climb in bed with her. The stench of cancer was horrible.
My Pops siblings, succumbed to various illnesses.
My Mother’s Pop, POP POP, died of cancer. My Nana, died of complications of a stroke.
I am the youngest of 6 children. My eldest sister, and two brothers all suffered with cancer. My sister, has been great for about 10/11 years. My brother, was given an outlook of 6 weeks to live.
He underwent treatment @ SK. He bounced back, went in to remission. Sadly, he would not give up drugs, alcohol and gambling. He took his life 20 years ago.
My other brother, went to Phiiy, and addressed Prostrate cancer. He is doing well.
I took care of my Pop at home, for about 3 years. Copd, 7 ER visits in one year.He was sent to a nusing home per his request, to ease my Mom. Well, he was their for 17 months.
He suffered with nasty sores all over his body. All these years, no one ever said he had cancer.
Mom and I were in disbeif, cancer took his life.
About 1, 1/2 years after pop died, she had already lost a resone to live.
September 30th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
Again, AOL updates, and wipes me out.
Anyway, Mom lost her reason to live.
She met my Pop 1 year ago.
Wow, I think i had a healing hour.
I’m 45 years old, it is what is is -
Understand, listening to E.?
My own fault. I will not tune in anymore,
I’ll stay awake for SNL.
Be safe

Caty,
You and your family have suffered a lot, I wish it wasn’t so.
Your comment on the stench of cancer brought back memories.
Please keep up your spirits and stay on top of your health status. You are a sweet woman who is a survivor. I am rooting for you.

Thanks to EH for taking time to promote a message of goodwill and knowledge that may help someone live. To all that are negative with regard to her involvement you should be ashamed of yourselves for not being considerate of a helpful, useful and positive message and subject that affects so many.

It’s not the message, it’s the messenger. TLB is a vile, nasty, mean, person. It’s hard to believe that she cares about anyone who doesn’t share her political views. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

as much as I cannot stand EH, her own mother is a breast cancer survivor, name is
Elizabeth DelPadre, and is why EH probably made this advertisement/endorsement.
I had put a link in this post to show all about EH’s mother being this survivor but then I guess this posting system removed my post in its entirety (probably thought/read me as a spammer *LOL*) so I guess I cannot link that here.

Hasselbeck’s two grandmothers and one aunt are also breast cancer survivors
