  1. berndoubt Says:

Quote from QVC front page of Elisabeth Hasselbeck for Dialogue designs:

“You may not know it, but TV host Elisabeth Hasselbeck started out in fashion design.”

  2. susieq Says:

She also has an ad in TV Guide.

‘Don’t miss her view on fashion.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck loves to share. Now you can get her opinion on style when she presents her fashion collection that’s sure to get people talking.”

Personally I think the ad should have said,

“Alot of viewers wish for Elisabeth Hasselbeck to no longer be employed as a talk show co-host so she has decided to “design” some frocks hoping she can make it in the fashion industry. She has 2 hungry children to feed and a third on the way (Man would you look at her breasts) and oh yeah, her husband is hungry too. He tried to make it as an NFL quarterback, but, oh wait, she doesn’t want that brought up, OK then, so anyways tune in to see Elisabeth Hasselbeck show off these er pretty, eh, stylish clothes on QVC. Oh yeah, she’s a Republican, so if you like Rush Limbaugh buy her clothes.

  3. ds Says:

    LOL!

  4. MiamiVision Says:

according to TWoP and yesterday’s post, there was a person/poster who has a friend working for QVC and this person said that when EH went to QVC that day, children and nannies in tow, she poured over the designs/set-up because she wasn’t familiar with them and poster said QVC employee said “the designs are not EH” - so, in other words, EH’s name is on this clothing but the poster said she never designed them at all and is why she was so frantic when she got to QVC. One can go to TWoP and just read the posts from yesterday for verification.

EH is merely pimping out herself and her name!

She is a total no talent and needs to get off ABC.

  5. ds Says:

#4, precisely why I don’t believe her about gluten.

  6. Mary Evans Says:

My oh my - that sassy Elisabeth! Did you notice she has on 2 different earrings in that picture? She must be cutting edge. Yeh, that’s it…….

  7. MiamiVision Says:

#5 - DS - Oh I believe she has a gluten intolerance (she had her Dr. Green on the show once who confirmed it); however, she did NOT write that book. Either her doctor did or they hired a ghostwriter!

I never saw on TV someone as full of chyt as EH is and I watch quite a bit of TV.

Rush Limbaugh comes to mind - another full o chyt glutton. HE IS A GLUTTON - looks like one! Gluttony is one of the 7 sins as I know it from the Catholic Church and I’m not even Catholic.

  8. MiamiVision Says:

EH has merely become a fame whore, so now she fits in with Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and all those little creepy girls who, as long as their names are printed all the time in the media, are ecstatic…you all know - BAD PRESS IS BETTER THAN NO PRESS to these cretins.

    Oy vey!

  9. ds Says:

Miami, thank you for responding, but I’m afraid I still don’t believe it. I am not very trusting when it comes to her or the show anymore. It seems the show will spin anything anywhichway for her.

  10. MiamiVision Says:

Well DS - that’s your right hon! I didn’t believe she had this gluten problem UNTIL her MD came on the show.

Meanwhile, I’m a new member of QVC, fairly new, and I just wrote to them at their website, under suggestion because there was nothing else to choose from relevant…and I wrote this:

“I am a fairly new member and loved the items I bought of Denim and Co. via QVC. However, let me tell you that as long as you promote Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her line of clothing (which, by the way, I read she never designed herself but rather attached her name to this line of clothes), I will NO longer be purchasing QVC products.

Many people detest Ms. Hasselbeck and it’s not that she is a republican, but rather the garbage and hate that she spews against the democrats and now ESPECIALLY AGAINST BARACK OBAMA who, whether she likes it or not, WON the election by a majority of votes.

Yes, I live my life by my morals, ethics, values, and political beliefs! If you stop promoting her, I will start watching your show once again and purchasing items. It’s your call!”

I can be such a *itch* LOL

I have to go back to work, I already took wayyyyyyy too long a break, hopefully an effective break (QVC).

Y’all enjoy and I’ll check back later, gators!

  11. Mary Evans Says:

Great idea Miami - I emailed them as well.

  12. ds Says:

Dr. Green looks familiar. Didn’t he used to play Jason on All My Children? (just kidding)

  13. Julianne Says:

And, weren’t these clothes made in a sweat shop?

  14. Stacee Says:

A lot of these celebrities just sell their names, and have little to nothing to do with the actual designs or production of the items. They just add their name and rake in the money.
I remember watching that Hulk Hogan show and they had an episode where he was choosing products to market. From drinks to that grill machine. It was very eye opening.

  15. MiamiVision Says:

Mary Evans #11: Did QVC answer you? They just answered me! (I cannot believe it, actually LOL). Here’s what they wrote, though I’m taking my name out of their salutation:

Hi Ms. xxxxxx, thank you for writing.

Wishing you a terrific Tuesday! I am sorry to learn how you feel about the
Elisabeth Hasselbeck/Dialogue show. Since customer satisfaction is our top
priority here at QVC, we always appreciate any comments from our customers.
I have forwarded your feedback to the appropriate department.

    Thank you for contacting QVC.com.

    Kind Regards,
    Kathleen

  16. Mary Evans Says:

    Hi Kathleen

Yes, they did answer but more of a generic letter - “we understand your position and sorry you are disappointed…., will forward…..

Basically I said I will be not supporting QVC as long as they are supporting EH, not because she is a republican but because she is vicious and mean-spirited.

I didn’t go into any details, like Michelle Obama at the RNC, where are the parents, the unfortunate troops, glitterglasseswhatshisface - well, I could go on and on but didn’t. Just wanted them to know, like you. :-D

    Mary

  17. Stacee Says:

I think it’s important to let these companies know how you feel about a particular product. However, these companies are in the business to make money. In other words, whatever sells will determine whether the product will be seen or not. I’m sure alot of people protested Rosie’s appearance but she was on. I never understood the fascination with Paula Abdul, yet her jewelry (reportedly) sold out. Same with Whoopi’s line of bedding.
I have a hunch Bits’ line will do well because there is a market for that type of clothing. It did not impress me, but I imagine a lot of people do like it.

But thanks Miami and Mary for taking the time to contact QVC. If nothing comes of it, at least you expressed your thoughts.

  18. Mary Evans Says:

    Thanks Stacee!

Gotta agree that programs go for the ratings or sales.

Although, after EH’s comments about Michelle Obama at the RNC I wrote to about 20 advertisers on The View and was surprised to get responses. I secretly think EH was privately reprimanded and The View just felt they could not admit what she had done because viewers were outraged enough.

But then I agree with Barry Manilow - she is very dangerous.

  19. Winnie McCarthy Says:

Elisabeth admitted on QVC that what she does on The View takes “no skill.”

  20. susieq Says:

Hi Winnie, it’s cool to see you as a poster.

That might be the first truthful thing Elisabeth has said. Ever.

  21. Mary Evans Says:

    OMG, missed that Winnie!

  22. Winnie McCarthy Says:

Her “t-shirt with flirt” tops are selling quickly, although I have always questioned the sales numbers on QVC and HSN. I usually think that they are inflating the numbers to get people to call and order.

  23. susieq Says:

Winnie, what’s your opinion of her line? You’re one of us tonight, you can tell us your honest feelings.

  24. Winnie McCarthy Says:

susieq: I have yet to see anything I would personally wear. I also think it is too expensive for what it is. I will post again if I see anything I like. :)

  25. susieq Says:

IMO her designs are very “safe” nothing earth-shattering. And I agree they’re pricey for the styles.

  26. Winnie McCarthy Says:

Elisabeth certainly seems very comfortable on QVC and in her element. Make of that what you will.

  27. Mary Evans Says:

Man, I keep posting but it doesn’t take.

Her pants seen to be droopy in the front with horizontal pleats. The boobieline on the tops seem tpp tight.

Darn, I have to go to a meeting, can’t believe I’m taping this!

  28. susieq Says:

Winnie, that’s easy to analyze. She’s trying to sell her clothes. She doesn’t want to offend any potential buyers. When she was auditioning for the View she came across totally different than she does now. I didn’t always have such a negative opinion of her. It was only when she started her very Anti-anything but Republican attitude.

If she can make a success out of being a designer then good for her and if it means she leaves the View then good for me.

  29. Winnie McCarthy Says:

There is way too much laughing/giggling about things that are not funny. My husband (who is half watching while using the computer) just mocked EH’s laugh. He also asked if the clothes were made in the USA. They were made in China.

  30. susieq Says:

Not surprised about them being made in China.

  31. Winnie McCarthy Says:

I think the reason that she appears to be enjoying herself so much is that the host is just feeding her one compliment after another (which she would do even if she hated the clothes, because that is her job). That coupled with the items selling out (1200 pieces per item I think the host said) are inflating her ego and making her giddy.

  32. Pepperbird Says:

This Hustlebucks fashion show on QVC reminds me of a lightning-fast Texas beef auction where the barker says about the cattle…”GOING GOING SOLD!–to the cowboy in the back row.”

The disco music makes it even more frantic and phony.

  33. Mary Evans Says:

    Yikes, my meeting is tomorrow!

WHO IS THIS WOMAN on QVC? What a fake. (Not talking about Lisa). I wish they would stop talking about feeling fat and coverups.

    Man, is EH giddy.

Loved her comment about her little stalker whatshisname.

  34. gonnavent Says:

My husband refused to let us turn it on…I don’t blame him. He stands firm that watching equals ratings which results in money in EH’s pocket….

So - my question is - were the additional *designs* as boring as the ones on The View this morning?

  35. Winnie McCarthy Says:

gonnavent: I cannot speak to that, since I did not watch today’s episode. Aileen’s recap was enough for me. :)

  36. Winnie McCarthy Says:

“Finding the perfect pant is like finding the perfect guy.”

  37. Mary Evans Says:

gov - the additional items so far were left overs from Fashion Week.

Your husband sounds like a wise man, can’t help myself, tho. :D

It is kind of like a split personality, it’s, it’s, it’s, well, very odd.

None of the pants fit the very slim models well. None of the sheer tops come with a camisole, like most do on QVC.

  38. Mary Evans Says:

They never did explain why she has on 2 different earrings on the QVC website. LOL

  39. gonnavent Says:

    Winnie and Mary Evans-

Thanks SO MUCH for the update! I’m searching online for examples! :-)

My goodness, I feel like the styles I saw today, I could pick up at the *inexpensive no-name clothing store* down the street for $15 - and that’s $15 CANADIAN! Sheesh!

  40. Winnie McCarthy Says:

    Well, it’s been “fun.” :)
    Night, everyone.

  41. Pepperbird Says:

Wikipedia says EH got a Fine Arts degree with a concentration on large paintings and industrial design, and had experience designing shoes, not clothes.

  42. Mary Evans Says:

Pepperbird, there is some debate if she really designed these or is just the “celebrity name” attached to Dialogue.

  43. MiamiVision Says:

Mary Evans: Thanks for responding to my question. However, I am not Kathleen, Kathleen was the one from QVC who wrote to me.

Stacee: Thanks! I think it’s important to express our views since it’s our dollars that help put bread and butter on their table and keep them on TV. I may just be one person but I am sure lots of people wrote in.

Winnie: Nice to see you posting! It’s evident that EH thinks it takes no skill to do The View….she sucks at it.

I refused to turn QVC on, had better things to watch.

    Y’all have a nice evening! *S*

  44. Pepperbird Says:

#42 Mary Evans: EH may be just a celebrity name attached to these clothes?

    That’s…even more phony.

  45. Stacee Says:

MiamiVision Says: “Stacee: Thanks! I think it’s important to express our views since it’s our dollars that help put bread and butter on their table and keep them on TV.”

MY RESPONSE: Good point. And of course you are right.
    Thanks for the reminder.

  46. Elsie Says:

Elisabeth Hasselbeck for DIALOGUE?? The line name sounds ironic!
