February 27 Recap: Jane Seymour and You Tube singer Von Smith
General Hospital star Kimberley McCullough appeared as guest host. She began her career on the show at age 7. She said that she went to regular school as a child, which helped keep her grounded. She joked that she had to wait in line for the terrible chicken nuggets, just like everyone else. For more on General Hospital and the other ABC soap operas, be sure to check out ABC Soaps Watch.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck revealed that when she was 14, she used to sneak out of her bedroom window to meet a boy. She said that she thinks her parents knew, because she broke the meter on the side of the house, which made the electric bills go higher. After a commercial break, Rosie announced that they had a caller. It was Ken Filarski, Elisabeth’s dad! Elisabeth looked very embarrassed and flushed and admitted that she was sweating. Ken said that he had no idea that she used to sneak out of the house and he was “shocked and befuddled.” He said that it did explain the rise in the electric bills, which he never was able to figure out. TMZ has posted a video of the call-in, which you can view here.
Jane Seymour, former star of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, appeared on the show. She has six children, including 11-year old twins. The twins were Gerber babies as infants. Jane, who has been married for 14 years, said that the key to the happiness of her marriage is doing everything together. In addition to raising the children together, she and her husband have a lot of business projects together. She and her husband produced Walk the Line. She currently stars on the television show In Case of Emergency. She loves to do comedy because she has never taken herself that seriously.
Lloyd Boston, author of Before You Put That On, appeared the show to talk about the best African-American fashion designers. They had a fashion show to present some looks from various designers, including Tracy Reese, B.Oyama who designs men’s clothing, Lafayette 148, Monif C. who designs plus-size fashions, Beyonce’s line House of Dereon, b michael, and Baby Phat.
The dresses below, by Monif C., are actually the same dress. It is very versatile and can be worn a variety of ways.
Rosie discovered a video on You Tube of singer Von Smith. She was so impressed that she called him and brought him on the show to make his television debut. He performed “And I’m telling you, I’m not going,” from Dreamgirls. Below is a video of his performance on the show:
