March 13 Recap: Roseanne Barr and Joely Fisher
Joely Fisher was the guest host today. She announced that her show, ‘Til Death, which co-stars Brad Garrett, is moving to the time slot after the American Idol result show on Wednesdays. She revealed that a few years ago she was a “madam for a minute.” Unbeknownst to her, she rented her home to women that were prostitutes. Although she only rented to three women, there ended up being eight women living in the house, there were panties everywhere and they installed eight phone lines. The women weren’t paing the rent, so she had to kick them out.
She said that her two daughters were at the show today: Skylar, age six and her baby True, who is one years old. Joely and Elisabeth Hasselbeck talked about squeaker shoes, which have noise-makers on the bottom of baby’s shoe, so that when the baby who is just learning to walk toddles off, you can hear it.
General Pace spoke to Congress and said that homosexuality is immoral. He compared it to adultery. Rosie said that it is unfair to say that all gays are immoral, because it is doesn’t give a gay person a chance to be a good person. She said “it is kind of like saying all lefties are witches.” She added that gay people are entitled to the same rights as everyone else.
Elisabeth said that he should not be saying this when there are gay men and women serving for our country. Elisabeth said that Pace’s focus on homosexuality may be a way to cover up his own wrongdoings, whatever they might be.
Roseanne Barr appeared on the show to talk about her new show The Search for America’s Funniest Mom on Nick-at-Nite. She said that she had a face lift at age 39 and also had a nose job and her eyelids done. As a result of the nose job, she has a runny nose all the time. She said that she is going to stop dyeing her hair and go gray, because it is “damn good to be old.” She said that the benefits of being old are that you can fart in public, bitch all you want, and you can say what think. She says that her age, 54 years old, she has “every single answer there is.” Roseanne said that she is too old and too crabby to do another sitcom.
Roseanne said that she has been involved in raising the minimum wage throughout the country. She said that the disparity between the rich and the poor is growing everyday and there is a war on middle class and working class. She said that people like the characters on her sitcom Roseanne, Dan and Roseanne Connor, don’t even exist anymore. Working class people can’t afford homes or to send their children to college. She wants the elections to be about issues for working class people and wants people to vote for what they believe, not what they dislike the least.
