March 6th Recap: Skeet Ulrich and Contsance Marie
Constance Marie, from George Lopez, was on as guest host. She said that she will not reveal her age and will be “as old as any producer wants me to be.” Constance has been engaged for seven years and together with her fiancé for 11 years. She said that is like “77 or 88 years” in Hollywood. She thinks that this might be the year that they actually get married, but she doesn’t want to jinx it.
Joy Behar asked Rosie O’Donnell what she wants for her birthday, which is on March 21. Rosie said she would love to do a whole episode of only Broadway production numbers. She said that she asked Kelli to get her a sewing machine like her mom had in the 1970s.
Joy Behar brought up how Hillary Clinton has received some criticism for using a southern accent in a recent speech in Alabama. Joy pointed out that she was acting, quoting a hymn, not really pretending that was her accent.
Rosie asked Elisabeth Hasselbeck how she felt when Hillary was on the show, considering she does not like her. Elisabeth says that she has a lot of respect for Hilary because she is a successful woman and didn’t feel awkward when she was there. She doesn’t agree with her politics and thinks that she panders too much
Rosie brought up the controversy surrounding American Idol contestant Antonella Barba. Despite the fact that racy photos of her have popped up on the internet, she has not been kicked off the show. This is in contrast to season two contestant Frenchie Davis who was kicked off the show when topless photos of her were found on the internet. Elisbabeth thinks it is probably because Antonella is pretty that they have not kicked her off the show. Rosie thinks it is racist and possibly also “weightest,” because Frenchie is African-American and overweight.
Rosie said that when she first started on The Rosie O’Donnell Show, someone claimed to have a pornographic movie with her in it. After an FBI investigation, she was able to see the film and admitted that it did look like her, but that she has definitely never made a pornographic movie.
Skeet Ulrich, of Jericho, appeared to promote his show. He is the single dad of twins who will turn six on Friday. His son likes racing and her daughter loves American Girl. He hasn’t dated since his divorce. He builds furniture in his spare time and he built an easel for his kids’ preschool.
Skeet said that he really loves the segment they are in on Jericho, where the heart of winter is coming, and people are running out of resources. He said that we are starting to learn a lot about his character, Jake, and the guilt he is carrying around. He said that episode 18, which will air in a few weeks, will be a “big deal,” and viewers will learn a little about why Jericho is still there and other mysteries. Skeet said that viewers will get a lot of clues this season, but it won’t answer all of their questions. For more about Jericho, visiting Watching Jericho.
Dr. Michael Breus, author of Good Night, was on the show to tell the viewers how to get a good night’s sleep. He is Rosie’s doctor and treated her for sleep apnea and she is sleeping much better now.
Dr. Breus gave a lot of suggestions for a good night’s sleep:
Ken Davitian, from Borat, appeared on the show to talk about the DVD release of the film. He said that he could not get an audition for the movie because he was American. He went into the audition in character and everyone thought that he was using his real accent. They also thought that there was no way that they would be able to reign him in because he was crazy. At the end of the audition he broke character and he was hired.
He said that at first he did not want to do the scene in the movie that called for him to wrestle naked. He said “a naked fat guy is a Wes Craven movie.” He relented, though, and that scene is one of the most-remembered of the film.
Ken also mentioned that he owns two restaurants in California called “The Dip.”

[...] American Idol “mad at” The View March 7th, 2007 by Winnie McCarthy On Wednesday’s show, Rosie O’Donnell said that “American Idol is mad at us!” She gave that as the reason why AI won’t give The View clips of their show to air during the hot topics segment. Rosie talked in the past about how the early rounds of the show were humiliating to contestants and she gave her opinion that Paula Abdul was possibly intoxicated on air. Apparently the last straw for AI, however, was Tuesday’s discussion about whether the decision to not remove Antonella Barba from the show, when another contestant was removed several years ago under similar circumstances, was racist or “weightest.” [...]
