Merry Miller co-hosting October 30th
ABC has announced that Merry Miller will be co-hosting on The View on October 30th.
Here is the description given in a press release:
Merry Miller, who conducted an unintentionally funny satellite interview on ABC News Now with Oscar winning actress Holly Hunter (which became one of the most talked about and watched videos on YouTube) will co-host ABC’s “The View,” Live, Tuesday, October 30, 11:00am-12:00 noon, ET on the ABC Television Network.
After reading that description, I went to YouTube to find the video and it was not as interesting as the description let on. Am I missing something? What made this so popular? Maybe I am just used to watching my local news folks interview people and be a little awkward with the questioning? I also think that satellite interviews are always awkward because of the timing.
See it for yourself:

Oh yeah, I remember her…I’ve seen lots of anchors fumble, but this incident was the worst I can recall. I felt bad for her, but it looks like this might actually end up helping her career.

I never saw the video and I can’t believe she will host. She is terrible at her job even with the weirdness of the delay. How awkward.

Now that I think about it, it is pretty funny that they would have someone guest host who is best known for being a bad interviewer.
I guess they just care that she might bring in publicity by screwing up?

I guess it’s important to bring in people like Merry Miller to make Sherri Shepherd look smarter. Merry was awful. I guess she dated her way into a media job. Her performance on The View just showed that she’s not suited for being in front of the camera.
