Photos of Sherri Shepherd Hosting The Daytime Emmy Awards

by Winnie McCarthy

Sherri Shepherd hosted the Daytime Emmy Awards last night. I thought that she did a great job with what she was given. I thought that the writing of the whole show was pretty bad. The introductions to the nominees for each award were dull and uninspired. The writers were taking the whole thing a little too seriously I thought. I also that that many of the actors and actresses looked like they did not want to be there. I also don’t watch any soap operas, so I was pretty bored most of the time. I did watch Days of Our Lives a couple of years in college, but that is pretty much the extent of my soap opera history.

I was surprised to see The Rachael Ray Show win (because I thought that Ellen would win that one too) and not surprised at all to see The View lose. Did you all see Barbara Walters doing the fake smile and clap like they all rehearsed when they lost? I thought the intro skit featuring the various View hosts was cute and I will post video of it so you all can see it, as well as video of the moment when Cameron Mathison and Sherri had a “love scene.” (Click here for videos). In the meantime, here are some photos of Sherri Shepherd in two of her dresses. She also wore a pretty purple dress at one point, but I think that was only when she was sitting and interviewing some soap stars and I haven’t been able to find a photo of it.

While I do like Sherri, I thought her constant screaming and hollering at the Daytime Emmy Show last night was way too over the top. The screaming and hollering annoyed me and to me it looked like it annoyed many of those people sitting there in their audience.

I was very happy to see the view lose, it’s about time for them all to cancel the show and who nominated them anyway? The show has bellied up since Rosie left and certainly since Meredith (and Lisa) left. It has even tanked since Star left. But it’s getting worse and worse on a daily level in my humble opinion.

And while I’m not terribly fond of Rachael Ray and I do like Ellen Degeneres, I was happy to see Rachael win against the view.
Rachael happens to be on the upswing of her life at 37-38 years old and will be around for a very long time. It’s time for the elders to take a back seat, ala Barbara Walters. I am also worried that someday she is going to get that lifetime achievement award and I believe it would be very undeserving if that happens down the road. She is certainly looking for *something* pushing 80 now. A lady always knows when to leave, evidently she doesn’t fall into the category….rather, to me, she is a hanger-on.

Y’all have a great weekend!! Thanks to Winnie for all the photos/updates.

    thanks Winnie,

I thought Sherri did a good job, and she looked very nice in all 3 dresses.

I liked the intro skit, and the “love scene”, I thought was kinda cute.

I thought that Rachael Ray would win, in the category that she did. (entertainment I think). I didn’t think The View would win, although I had a little hope that they might. I wasn’t surprised that Ellen won at all, for talk show Host. I catch her show once in a while.

I got such a kick out of Sherri’s opening skit with Cameron. Great show and congrats to all the winners!
