Reminder: Daytime Emmys to Air Tonight

Be sure to tune in to the Daytime Emmy Awards tonight to see if the The View and/or the The View hosts walk away with an award. While the show has won for “Best Talk Show” in the past, they have never won for “Best Talk Show Host.” Many people speculated during the season that the addition of Rosie O’Donnell to the cast may have increased their chances of winning. Of course many people also speculated that Rosie decreased their chances. The way that her tenure ended on the show may have soured voters, although I am not sure if the ballots were already in at that point.
Joy Behar, Barbara Walters and Elisabeth Hasselbeck are also scheduled to present an award. I imagine there will be some kind of comedic banter about this past season with Rosie prior to the handing out the award.
Rosie has said repeatedly (both on the air and on her blog) that she will not be attending the awards because it is Parker’s last day of school. Still, there have been reports that she will make a “surprise” appearance at the awards. I doubt that she will show up and imagine that the reports are just to get people to watch the ceremony that might not otherwise.
