Reminder: Rosie O’Donnell’s Movie Airs Saturday

by

rosieorange.jpgJust a reminder that Rosie O’Donnell’s new Lifetime movie America airs Saturday, February 28th at 9:00pm eastern time.

Rosie has been on television the past week promoting the show. I just watched her on The Bonnie Hunt Show and I thought it was a great interview. It lasted several segments and included conversations about her family, the movie, as well as her new crafting obsession: Munny.

During the interview she said that she discovered the young actor who plays America in the film when she saw him eating a diner with his family. He had no previous acting experience, but she convinced him to audition and he nailed the part.

She also talked about how her daughter Vivi apparently has a great gift for gymnastics.

Rosie was also on The Tyra Banks Show, but for some reason my DVR taped different episodes of Tyra and I am confused how that happened. Instead of Rosie, I got some sort of dating episode. I have found some clips of it online, but not the whole interview.

Feel free to comment here about any interviews you have seen with Rosie or about what you think of the movie after it airs tomorrow!

I watched Rosie on Bonnie Hunt…agreed, it was a great interview, even a little emotional as she talked about her mother.
Looking forward to the Lifetime movie on Sat. night.

Thank you Winnie for opening the blog door, for comments about Rosie’s interviews. I watched all the appearances of Rosie , this week. ( loving my DVR ! ) I am looking forward to the movie Saturday night.
I will enjoy the weekend’s comments. I hope everyone who wanted to see her on Craig Ferguson, was able to do so. The two of them have great chemistry together. She seemed completely at ease with him and it made for enjoyable entertainment.
The GMA show was more of a short serious segment concentrating mostly on the movie. Then came Tyra Banks… for two days. It was like watching ” THIS IS YOUR LIFE , ROSIE ” . Two full shows of just Rosie and Tyra. Oh…..yes..and a short segment with Ruby Dee !Next, Bonnie Hunt was her usual perfect host. You can tell the two women truly like each other. No… they did not come right out and talk about The View. Maybe a couple of ” body language” seconds, but both ladies, in my opinion, have better manners and class, then to waste air time referring to classless situations they were both subjected to, on The View. However, I was hoping they would talk about it !!! :-)

I love Rosie! I have my Tivo set to tape anything with Rosie in it. Which means I end up taping The Flinstones a lot… lol.

all her interviews were so great this week - can’t wait to see the show.

I’m not in the position to take in a foster kid right now but she has inspired me to become a CASA - court appointed special advocate - to look out for foster kids as they navigate the system. It’s about 10 hours a month and you go thru a 30 hour training period.

    I’ll keep you posted!

  4. Aileen Says:

Sorry Roja. u know I love u more than my luggage…

    I’m just saying…

    Winnie,
I sent you a clip of Rosie on Tyra. I look forward to seeing her movie. I’m going to watch next week. I won’t be able to watch it tonight. I also posted the Clip of Rosie on GMA on my blog. It’s nice to see her out and about.

  6. Sandy Says:

    Thanks Winnie,
I appreciate so much that you provided a link for Munny. I think I’m going to order some.
I did get to watch Bonnie Hunt yesterday and really enjoyed it.
I can’t wait to see her movie, my daughter will be recording it for me.

  7. susieq Says:

What I have always liked about Rosie is, she really does care about things and does what is necessary to bring a problem to people’s attention. She actually walks the walk. Unlike Elisabeth who only talks the talk, and she can’t even do that well.

I understand interviewers wanting to ask her about the View. Rosie is very classy about how she answers. She could be very petty and childish if she wanted to and she doesn’t do that. If I was in her position I’m not so sure I could take the high road.

She said her and Joy are still friends. As Star Jones used to say “that speaks to Joy’s character.”

  8. Manny Says:

I absolutley loved seeing Rosie on all the shows this week. She brings something special to television as she did this week. Her appearances are an event…free stuff, meet some great kids, art, crafts and a bunch of laughs and fun. She seems to be in a really good place. She’s even gone back to answering Ask Ro questions on a smailler, quieter scale (I knew she could not stay away too long!)

She really educated me on the foster care system…that is just unreal seeing these children and the slim chance of them finding a truly wonderful family. If I was better off financially I would consider being a foster parent.

This is what sets her apart from EH and so many others who spout their opinions, run their mouth and go back to their privleged lives. Whoopi is another who has contributed alot to society… That’s why I will always respect Ro and Whoop. Real, Strong, Smart Women!!! Ok Joy too!!!! She cracks me up!

  9. mibi Says:

Well done movie. I wish it was written a little different but it was well done. I like the actors.

  10. Kelly Says:

    WELL SAID MANNY - ITA.

If we could stop spending so much on helicopters and submarines - we could fix foster care and make adoption affordable. The REAL crime is that 80% of these children end up in prison and it could have been avoided.

WAIT A MINUTE - that’s the same percentage Ann Coultergeist spouts when blaming single mothers: 80% of prison inmates are born to single mothers. BUT 80% of prison inmates have been through the foster care system.

So which is it? Do single moms or a broken down foster care system turn children into criminals? Both? Does one only exacerbate the other? Sure it does.

Too bad AnnaBanana didn’t have the integrity to include the foster care link in her book. Of course, that wouldn’t reflect well on the Bush Presidency and their overspending in Iraq by say $640Billion, whereas a fraction of that money would have helped save these children…and “KEPT US SAFE.” But of course, these poor children are so undeserving of a chance at life – since they won’t just –you know – pull themselves up by their state-issued bootstraps. How could Ann solely blame the Dems if she pointed her bony wooden finger at foster care? How well would that reflect on Bush’s No Child Left Behind program?

Putting a child in foster care is the same as putting a baby in a dumpster.

GOPfia - just when you thought organized crime was as dated as Ann Coulter.
