Yes, i wish the Rosie that is so dedicated to helping so many children in need was much more advertised. (and our troops, by the way) She has a VERY big heart.

Thank you for our Rosie fix, Winnie! That’s why I got into The View last spring and your site in the first place. My admiration for her continues to increase the more I read about all that she does. This piece about her generosity should be reported on by the right-wing media, but it will not be.

I’m not a fan of the cover; it looks too airbrushed and photoshopped to me.
But I enjoyed reading about how giving Rosie is. It’s too bad she is so villified in the press.

Does anyone remember the uproar over Rosie appearing on one (or more??)of her magazine covers completely makeup free, much as she often appears on her blog?

Got a phone call from the library a couple of hours ago; my copy of “Celebrity detox” is ready for me to pick it up!
Because of the foot of snow out there, I’ll postpone it until tomorrow, but I’m looking forward to read it -though I already have a good idea of what to expect. But still.
I’ve also read her previous book recently, “Find me”. Mix of reality and fiction, but she talked a fair bit about her old talk-show, and it was quite interesting.

Rosie doesn’t let her face on just any magazine. I’m sure LB is a company Rosie believes in. I was amazed to see how much money she has donated to kids and vets. Go Rosie! Why does all the gossip TV (”E”, Access H.) hound her at every corner? Maybe those so interested in ragging on her are a bunch of haters trying to stir the pot. Hey, Rosie is asking those hard questions that Americans should be asking. Got to hand it to her.

Yeah, Rosie does look great. If you read through her blog though, she says that there was tons of airbrushing. I kind of prefer my Ro au naturel. Still, she looks gorgeous.

Hey Doug,
I was just getting ready to say that LOL! You can tell the picture was air brushed. We see her on her blog without the makeup and she still looks good. It’s her inner beauty shinning through.

Thanks for the heads up Winnie! I stopped watching all entertainment shows when they started their Rosie bashing. They would never promote her charity giving, just the latest “who hates Rosie today” gossip.

Me too, Dee. In fact, the whole Rosie debacle was an eye-opener for me. I didn’t question the entertainment media too much; didn’t think they were as bad as the right-wing media machine. Till Rosie. I started taping The View and realizing she was nothing like they portrayed. She’s why I started reading and writing on Winnie’s blog. I just wanted to add a voice in support of her speaking out in her unorthodox way about Bush’s War. I can’t pretend to know what she is “really” like, any more than I can pretend to know what any celeb is like. I don’t evaluate her on that basis, only on what I see her doing and saying. Linda, I have no idea why the entertainment rags go after her; if it’s ratings or politically motivated. Billy Bush is related to Shrub, though, isn’t he? A distant cousin or something?

Lisakate posts on my blog. She wrote and told me that Rosie answered one of her questions on her blog.
“Rain this is OT Ro answered one of my questions. I must say Ro was a bit of a biatch. I am a nurse i see head injuries that could be avoided. Just make the freaking kids wear a helmet!!!!!!!
liskate writes:
Ro , please make your kids wear helmets when biking, skateboarding or roller blading. All it takes is one bad fall and your life will be changed forever.

ro, answered one of my questions once…well, it wasn’t a question but rather a statement.
right after she said she wasn’t coming back to the view i wrote something like “it takes courage to quit knowing the republicans will take credit”
her response was something like: i could care less what they think
ha ha…Lisakate and i both got told off my R…wear it with honor, Lisakate.
