Rosie O’Donnell on Martha Stewart Recap
Rosie O’Donnell was on The Martha Stewart Show today for the Halloween episode. Rosie was dressed as Queen Elizabeth and Martha was a golden goddess. Rosie spoke in a British accent on and off and it was funny how Martha did not seem to be paying much attention to what Rosie was saying. Rosie even mentioned that she could say whatever she wanted and Martha will just continue on talking about the crafts or the decorations. Rosie also said that she thought that Martha was not listening to her. I think that Martha just does not know how to interact in a comedic way.
Martha made a comment that they wanted Rosie to be on the show permanently, but that they could not afford her. Rosie said that she could have had her for the “View rate,” and told the audience that she wanted to do a show with Martha before she did The View. She said that when Martha “got out of the clink” she suggested that they do a show together, but Martha declined.

Martha and Rosie then did a craft from Rosie’s new book Crafty U, which has craft ideas that families can do together. They glued candy wrappers onto light switch plates and then decoupaged them using Martha Stewart sealing glue.
Rosie’s Broadway Kids performed “This Joint is Jumpin’.” Rosie and Martha checked out the various costumes in the audience and Rosie tried to convince Martha to give the people free things, but she did not want to. Rosie said that it was obviously not her show. Rosie had Martha hug a woman who was a big fan of hers and Martha did so, but looked rather awkward. I don’t think that personal interaction is her strong suit.
Rosie joked that she would have gone on other shows, but they would have asked her about the book, so she decided to come on Martha instead.

I absolutely enjoyed the show. As I said in a previous post I stopped watching The View after 5 minutes so I could see Rosie on Martha - and it was worth it. FUN! FUN! FUN!
I loved the rapport and interaction between them. Even though Martha doesn’t know how to interact with Rosie at times (Rosie even commented that she can say anything and Martha will keep on going) you can tell they really like and respect each other. It was interesting to hear Rosie talk about a show idea for her and Martha. It’s too bad that didn’t work out. I think it would have been fantastic.

I just watched, and Rosie was great! Her Broadway kids were so adorable and they did a good job too! Rosie is such a breath of fresh air and she’s such a people person. She exudes such a happy, uplifting vibe… Quite the opposite of Whoopi.

Rosie appearance on the Martha show is great. She is always entertaining and engaging with the audience. I like that about her. Her “queen” accent was so cute.
Martha and Rosie really seems like they are good friends. I agree with Viva they seem like they have a profound respect for each other. It was really nice to see.
I caught the part when Rosie said she asked Martha to do the show with her and Martha’s response was a little reluctant. However, they said they might re-negotiate. I think Martha is an easy going type (like myself). On the other hand Rosie’s personality is very strong, activist and conscious woman. Which is great!
If I were them I wouldn’t put any strains on their friendship and different personalities.
I think Rosie would be better suited to get her own show again. She is a sole personality. I’d like to see her come back with her own thing! She can totally do something with crafts and kids like she wrote in a book and create the direction that she wants to go. I think she’d be so successful once again and it would be so great for her!

I didn’t see the show, but from the recap, it seemed like both had a great time. I’m not sure how a show with both of them would have worked out. I just don’t see it happening, but Martha could have Rosie as a regular, doing crafts, etc. That might be a better arrangement. Just a thought!
