Rosie O’Donnell returns to Nip/Tuck this week

Rosie O’Donnell’s reprisal of her role as Dawn Budge on the F/X television show Nip/Tuck will begin this Tuesday. Her storyline is expected to last a few episodes. Dawn has the unfortunate experience of being attacked by an eagle, which requires the services of the plastic surgeons.
You may recall that Rosie posted pictures on her blog, including the one above, when she was filming the show and some of her readers mistakenly thought she was actually injured. I guess that says good things about the special effects make-up people that work at the show.
Rosie posted a behind-the-scenes video of the filming of the eagle-attack scene on her blog.

Thanks for the reminder. This will be my first time watching Nip/tuck, I hope it’s not too grotesque.

rainlillie, normally the show is not too grotesque. They do show blood and surgical procedures.
I can tell you it can be VERY racy. Some scenes can be quite explicit and they do not tone down the language. It’s definitely not a family show. My husband and I watched last episode and we were like ‘whoa’.
I’m happy for Rosie that she won the Blogger’s Choice Award. Good for her.

Its nice to finally see a post about Rosie, thanks Winnie. And Congrats to Rosie, she really wanted that award

As always thanks Winnie for keeping us up to date.
I’ve never watched Nip/ Tuck. Don’t get the channel, and don’t have cable or satellite.
My older daughter has watched it, and she likes it

Winnie, I didn’t know yesterday that we could leave comments, probably didn’t read the whole thing. I left one this evening though. I hope you win.

Sandy,
I checked around online to see if I could find a site that carries episodes of Nip/Tuck and
I found this free site. I read that if you sign up for an account you can watch the show for free. http://www.graboid.com/
Stacee, I’m going to give it a try. Thanks for telling me about the show. I think Rosie is a awesome actress. I loved her in A league of their own and Beautiful Girls.

I loved her in Sleepless in Seattle, too.
I am SO squeamish, I might not be able to see this — I have to quickly scroll by that picture, because I can’t bear to look at that injury !! — but I might try it only because of Rosie.
Dawn Budge. What a wonderful name! It’s the best. It makes me laugh just to see it typed out there.
SO happy she has this gig !! I wish she’d win an Emmy.

Peaches, I am squeamish too! I usually cover my eyes or fast forward through the bloody parts or certain procedures (like liposuction or breast aumentations or nose jobs or face reconstructions). They sometimes actually simulate and SHOW what’s going on.
I can’t look at that picture above of injured Rosie either. I don’t like the sight of blood (ack).
But the show is good, IMO. We enjoy it because the storylines are very interesting. rainlillie, it’s I’m happy you will give it a chance. Just remember, you were warned, lol!

Stacee,
I’M SCARED!
“I can’t handle the truth!” I hope it’s the kind of show where they foreshadow the gory parts with obvious sinister music. Something tells me it is not that subtle…. I freak out even when the remote accidentally lands on that Dr. 90210 show just as he is tucking yet another tummy, inflating another breast. The stomach churns at the thought. Much as I adore Rosie, I don’t know if I’ll be able to see much of this show. Thanks so much for the heads-up!

Rainlille,
Thank you very much, it was thoughtful of you to find the site. I appreciate it.

You’re welcome Sandy! I’m with you Peaches I have a very weak stomach when it come to seeing blood and such. I’m going to tape the show on my DVR, so that I can go past the gross parts.
Stacee did warn me so at least I’ll be prepared.

I watch the show and I will take the operating gore over the sex scenes. Last weeks was way over the top for me, but I will love seeing Dawn and her antics this week.

Dee says:
“Last weeks was way over the top for me,”
You said it! We were definitely stunned with what they showed. WOW! They have shown some pretty, ahem, sexual things on the show but this one definitely toook the cake. It was VERY explicit. Quite uncomfortable.
That’s what I meant above about the show being racy. The operating scenes do give me the willies but the sex scenes is what I would definitely warn to make sure the kids are not in the room.
Dee, do you remember when Dawn and Christian, ummm, did the deed together? That scene made it so I had a hard time looking at Rosie for awhile. I got over it but, yikes.

Rosie changed her blog. What do you all think of the changes? I liked the old format better, It was easier to navigate.

I like the old format much better.

Stacee,
I also like the old format better.
