Rosie O’Donnell taking blog vacation

by

Rosie O’Donnell posted on her blog today that she will be taking a vacation from her blog for the month of August “2 c if I can.” I predict that she will not be able to stay away from her blog for an entire month. She could prove me wrong, though.

Full entry, which also touches on earthquakes and her recent trip to the hospital with son Parker, who broke his wrist, is here.

After being a long time fan of Rosie, I think I’m finally done. She is too flighty for me. She messed up her MSNBC show, now I guess she’s getting a variety show. Er maybe she really is the most annoying person in America.

  2. Stacee Says:

No way will she be away for a month. None.
But I also think people should lay off. Some get really weird when she does not update it as often as they think she should. I check it every now and then. But hers is not the only blog in the internet world.

Maybe a break is a way for her to keep quiet about her tv plans? I’m sure she’s being asked about it constantly.

Either way, I hope she’s able to enjoy some time away, at her leisure.

    True dat.

  4. Aileeny Says:

I so agree with you Stacee. It amazes me her dedication to the blog for all this time!! If she wants a break. so be it. I would of crapped out a long time ago. Lord I am stating to feel like that with this project I am on.. the demands.. We all need a break.. Hopefully its not to long for her since we rely on the updates and a bit of Rosie. :-)

    I’m just saying…

  5. Sandy Woodward Says:

Parker’s broken wrist and her being offline for soooooo long on the last cruise. I am betting on Rosie.

I don’t blame Rosie a bit! Not only do folks get weird when she doesn’t update, but think about all of the hate posts she has read day in and out. It would drain my life’s juices right out of me. I think Rosie is great and has done an outstanding job of shaking people awake regarding the current administration, the war and a whole multitude of issues that she brought to the front burner.

Also, she could have made mince meat out of EH the day of the split screen but opted not to because EH was preggers and Rosie was really hurt by the betrayal. I get that.

ITA! The stuff posted here about TLB is tame compared to some of the letters Rosie has received. She had the whole White House propaganda network gang up on her( Faux News)
I’m glad she’s going to take a break.

  8. ShannonP Says:

Not to mention all of the “I am so depressed” or “I’m going to commit suicide” posts she gets on top of the mean-spirited ones. That would get incredibly draining. What is she supposed to do about it? She’s not responsible for people’s mental health, she seems to have her hands full just managing her own. But people act like she’s a messiah and can save them. Or the ones that write in with obvious attempts to get money, but they think they are being clever about it. I don’t think the intention behind the blog was to write in about all your troubles and woes, it was just to ask her a question.
She has seemed burned out for a while on there now. One word answers or days between updating and people act like they are her best buddies and that she owes them something. I’d take a break from it all if I was her too, people get too whacko with it.
I imagine she’ll use the blog again when it benefits her. She’ll use other people’s questions to express what she is thinking without actually having to say the words herself.

  9. misslingdow Says:

Excellent points Rain and ShannonP. At least Rosie faces her critics EH would have no tears left!

  10. Sandy Says:

I certainly don’t blame, and can well understand, Rosie wanting to unplug for awhile.
I’m surprised she hasn’t taken a “long” break before now. There is no way i could cope with all that she does.

  11. ShannonP Says:

Sandy, with millions in the bank, I could find a way to cope lol.

  12. Yellow4Ro Says:

Maybe after Parker’s skateboard accident, Rosie simply wanted to spend more time with Kelli and their children. Summer goes by quickly and kids grow even faster. School will start again before we know it! ;-) I totally get why Ro is doing this. As far as Rosie not blogging more while on the cruise, she stated it was due to poor internet connections on the ship. It’s her blog and she can do what she wants. LOL

  13. shelly Says:

Wow-Big surprise-Rosie quitting something! (again and again and again…)
I’m done with her too. I guess she forgot whose support put her in the position to still be able to make millions of dollars to keep adding to the many, many millions she already has made from her celebrityhood.

  14. Dee Says:

    Rosie knows when to leave, unlike some people;

Her blog fueled the NYP, the entertainment shows, etc. so now they have to find their nastiness somewhere else…yea Rosie!

  15. Stacee Says:

Taking a break does not equal quitting.

She made money from entertaining people. Whether it was her show, acting, commercials, whatever. She did her part.

I don’t know anyone, no matter how much they make, that does not deserve a break every now and then. But I suppose people think she should be at their beck and call.
See what I meant in my post above?
