Rosie O’Donnell’s “Variety Hour” Set for November 26th
I reported back in July that Rosie O’Donnell was in talks to join NBC with a variety show. It has now been confirmed that Rosie’s Variety Hour will premiere on November 26th, which is the night before Thanksgiving.
The show will feature a “topical monologue and feature celebrity guests, musical acts, comedy skits, and a giant giveaway for both the in-studio and home audiences.”
Rosie has always said that this is the type of show that she would love to do and in the statement she released yesterday she stated, “This is a dream come true for any performer . . . Old time variety, live from New York with a nod to Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett and memories of Sonny and Cher.”
It appears that NBC is being cautious, however, as only the one episode has been ordered, rather than a full season. Are you planning to watch?

Thanks Winnie!
I’m looking forward to see Rosie’s new show. That’s one of the things I like her, is she appreciates the old shows. I loved the Carol Burnett show. Rosie said on her blog, that she would like to go on the Rachel Maddow show. That would be a great show.

I will definatly watch, I am also a fan of the Carol Burnett show! I used to love Rosie’s talk show, this sounds close but with more skits etc… It should be good.

I CAN’T WAIT!
Our country needs a variety comedy show right about now. Enough of those murder cop shows.

Yes, yes and yes. I am looking forward to seeing the show. nd, I wish Rosie to break a leg. I have missed her.

Yippee!!!!
I love how Rosie has dialed back on her blog. The media can’t use her as fodder for the whimper and whine campaign of McCain.

If the episodes are online, I will definitely watch it.

Dee, I agree about her dialing back being a good thing. Plus, the more you let McCain and Palin speak, the more they sink themselves. For Rosie to speak up, it would just give Fox News something to yammer on about. Those that feel the same way as her, already have their eyes open by now and can see it for themselves.
You can’t fix stupid. She must get exhausted by the sheer level of stupidity of some of the comments she gets on her blog. And how people think she owes them a connection or how they are always asking for money in ways they think aren’t obvious.
You know what I would LOVE? I would love for Elisabeth to go down in flames right about the same time Rosie soared back up. That would be beautiful karma.

I am soooooo excited. I’m an oldie and I really miss the variety shows like Carol Burnett, Dean Martin, Ed Sullivan, Andy Williams, Sonny and Cher, Donnie and Marie! I can’t wait. Please PLEASE order a full season, CBS, and at least give it a chance. This is what most viewers want.
Thanks, Winnie!

Id love to sit down and have a beer with Rosie, and I dont even drink beer!!
I used to go to her blog a couple times a day, but I noticed that she answered more haters than fans. After a while I just gave up…..I wasnt a hater and I guess not a big enough fan.
Thats why I like it here…… u all may not agree with me or want me like Joy wants me , but at least I am free to toss in my 2 cents.

This will be great I just know it! No one is a better host than Rosie and I know she’ll be fantastic live. Sounds like a wonderful idea to bring back this kind of television.

does that mean your going to stop doing recaps and talking about The View.
or are you going to do Rosies Show?
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:01 am
EH ‘go down in flames’ while Rosie ’soars’ how sweet is that……..NOT! There is enough love to go around, I like Rosie but sometimes she brings on her own problems, and she says it herself sometimes on her blog. This country is big (and free) enough for more than one opinion, I wish them both well.

I have always liked Rosie and look forward to her new show. I thought she was wonderful on the View, but felt bad when she and Elisabeth had their falling out.

I am excited about Rosie’s new TV show. I hoped she would do a LIVE Variety show. I miss this “lost” genre and I have wished for Rosie to be the star.
