Rumor Denied: Elisabeth Hasselbeck Not Leaving The View
Despite the recent rumors, it appears that View host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is not leaving the show anytime soon. According to Entertainment Tonight Elisabeth’s representative said that “While Elisabeth has a great relationship with Fox News, there is absolutely no truth to the rumor that she is leaving The View . . . Elisabeth is passionate in her beliefs and enjoys being a part of this dynamic group of women and engaging in daily conversations.”
ET also said that a rep from ABC said that “Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, executive producers of The View, consider Elisabeth to be vital to the program.”
This is unfortunate news for many of you who were hoping the rumors were true. Many posters, both Elisabeth fans and foes, thought she would be better off at Fox News. I am sure that she will continue to do guest spots over there while enjoying her status at The View as the lone conservative, which brings her a lot more attention.
The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck

Damn…
October 2nd, 2008 at 4:38 pm
I still think she won’t be on The View much longer.
October 2nd, 2008 at 4:48 pm
It would be a mistake for EH to leave The View for Fox. The View provides an outlet for her political beliefs. She gets to interview famous people and politicians. On her own Fox show, she wouldn’t have guests such as Clinton, Obama.
EH has a well-rounded position with a major network. Only a fool would…hmmm…fool…well, maybe she’ll make the jump after all.
October 2nd, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Im glad they came out with this. I may not agree with anything she says, but I sure do prefer her than one of those extreme people that scream until everyone else shuts up.
EH will back down from time to time. Not happily though lol
Besides….. if she was leaving, she wouldnt have signed a new contract.
October 2nd, 2008 at 5:19 pm
I admire her for sitting there day after day getting pounded by 4 Democrats. I think it is 100% wrong for her to have to be the only Republican on the panel! Every time she makes a point, she has one of 4 continually out talking her. They all sound like a bunch of lunitics! This show is really off of my list now. I used to enjoy watching it but it has changes so much that it is not fun anymore. It has become a scream fest! And I think Elisabeth should have just as much right as any of the others to have her point heard. This includes Barbara!
October 2nd, 2008 at 5:27 pm
I am so glad that they did not let her go. I admire her for being the only conservative on there. way to go girl!!
i’m sick and tired of all this liberal crap that gets to be aired all the time, then if a conservative says something, they get dogged out.
think of all the ppl out there that do have morals that have to put up with listening to the garbage crammed down our throats.
October 2nd, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Elisabeth stays at the View because any time she gets backed into a corner (you know, actually has to defend the crap she spews out with facts) then she gets to use the defense of being the lone Republican against the big bad others and how they were all just ganging up on poor little lone her. She isn’t held accountable for her own views on things. If she was on a network of all like-minded people, then she wouldn’t get to use that easy cop-out.
Plus, they really coddle her at the View, it’s not required that she be smart or informed.

If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your mom and grandparents, you’re ‘exotic, different.’
Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, a quintessential American story.
If your name is Barack you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you’re a maverick.
Graduate from Harvard law School and you are an elitist.
Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you’re well grounded.
If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human
Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.
If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.
If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.
If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a Christian.
If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America’s.
If you’re husband refers to himself as ‘First Dude’, with one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.
No matter how much a black person does we seem to never out risk the whites.
October 2nd, 2008 at 6:08 pm
I believe that most of the negativism comes to Elisabeth because people are jealous of her good looks and fortune. She was given a great opportunity to be with Barbara Walters and the rest of the panel. I may not agree with all of her comments as I don’t always agree with the rest of their views however I have enough sense not to be negative and jealous of a person who was given a great opportunity. She brings some good things to the table as do they all. Grow up and get over yourselves. Go do something productive for the world and the people in it. Jealousy will get you no where and trust me it is less than flattering.

RATS
October 2nd, 2008 at 6:26 pm
i really wish that she would leave the show she makes me sick
October 2nd, 2008 at 6:35 pm
Elisabeth need to leave the View, she is the reason I do not watch it, she get so defense about Republican that she can not talk about what going on in the world.
October 2nd, 2008 at 6:48 pm
i really dont like her. sometimes when she talks i have to fast forward so i dont have to hear her. its sad
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:18 pm
Really can’t stand her and her ability to see only her side of things and never ever listen to anyone else (plus Barbara really coddles her)—enjoy the rest but wish she would leave. When Rosie left, EH should have been asked to leave too!
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Anyone got valium……sigh
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:43 pm
I am glad there is one woman on the show, that can claim she’s not a Obama cheerleader. Objectivity…not sure it exists on “The View”…leave Hasselbeck in there…if she leaves, you might just have to change the name of the show from “The View” to ummm… “One-View”.
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:50 pm
I’ll mail you what’s left from my overdose Ella. What’s the shipping cost to Australia? BTW, my fav human spirit triumph movie is Rabbit Proof Fence. You had/have a very big racial/class divide in your country with the aboriginals. Is this movie a good representation of life as it was in Australia?
Lopez…LOL
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:12 pm
I could care less about what Elisabeth enjoys! What about the audience and viewers WHO WANT HER GONE???
It is time to boycott “The View.” Demand the sponsers get her fired.
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:28 pm
Kelly I just replied to your post, but it didn’t go thru???? I posted a link, am I not allowed to do that, or do they check it first…….
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:32 pm
I think that Elizabeth is a idiot and she needs to leave the show.
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:33 pm
I absolutely think she should not leave. She is a refreshing, intelligent person on that ridiculous left wing show. Joy makes me absolutely ill, just hearing what comes out of her foul mouth. I have never heard such a rude, condescending person in all my life. (besides Rosie O’donell). I absolutely think that The View should have either another right winger or at least an independent to make it somewhat fair and balanced. Believe me, I will no longer watch such a one sided show. It is dispicable!!!!
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:57 pm
Ella: One link at a time - works for me. Someone else had a problem posting a link today (ShannonP?).
I actually missed most of the debates tonight reading this site!!! Lost track of time. Did Biden out perform Palin?????
(I am so mad).
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:05 pm
kelly Biden did well and in jaded opion he chrushed the debates. palin held her own but mad mistake on names and on one question had a little sentence to no where but otherwise was good. she made a connection but biden was pretty strong through out
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Thanks mibi!!
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:32 pm
That would eliminate the ecitign dynamics of the show. How long will it be before viewersget totally Bored listening to Four liberals praising Barack.
On another note, today I hear Joy say she thinks Sarah Palin is dumb (or to that affect). Isn’t that kind of like a pig telling a dog, it smells. Yikes! Is there anyone on TV that competes with Joy’s ridiculous ignorance??
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Rosie recently answered a lot of EH questions.
Waldo Writes:
Hey!!! Wow did u watch the view today? didnt you think EH was a bit disrespectful to BW when she was asked to say 3 reasons why Sarah Palin is qualified!
(Rosie) yes n yes
Sandee Writes:
Who do you think would make a good replacement for Elisabeth?
(Rosie) anyone
Ryan Writes:
Just read this in an article about EH possibly leaving the show -
Tensions are high on The View set, but not as bad as the Rosie O’Donnell era.
Was it really hard to go to work everyday?
(Rosie)a chick
being born
the first peck
out of the shell
is often remembered as the hardest
Trisha Writes:
Did you see Whoopi, not take any $hit from the “viewmaster” today? You would have been proud Ro
(Rosie)send me the link
Jon T. Writes:
Did you see that EH might b leaving the view 2 host a show on Foxnews? She’s running from the truth to be with her out-of -touch buddies at Fox. I still miss u on that show, but always sending U luv!
(Rosie) she is perfect for fox
October 2nd, 2008 at 10:17 pm
I am an independent.I am disgusted in everyone’s point of VIEW (mainly dem’s) it looks like you shout Elisabeth out. I want, and all my friends and collegues want a true VIEW of Republicans, Democratics and Independents.
I and several others accept more from Barbara Walters!!!! Let us know the facts and not your emotions!
CAN YOU DO THIS? ARE YOU NOT THE VIEW OR JUST THE VIEW OF THE DEMOCRATICS????
October 2nd, 2008 at 10:25 pm
it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who feels this way! It’s gotten to the point that her voice is annoying. She opens her mouth and spews nonsenses about things she can’t back up enough already EH SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m with Sapphire let’s boycott
October 2nd, 2008 at 11:00 pm
This is the worst news yet. Can’t stand to watch while EH is on.. Guess I’m over The View until she leaves.
October 3rd, 2008 at 4:25 am
I have found someone I dislike more than EH…if that’s possible. I have just been watching a replay of your Vice-Presidential debate and had to leave the room…..Sarah Palin is a rootin tootin sarcastic condascending cow……sorry if I offend anyone and sorry for going off topic, but I needed to vent. If I hear the word maverick one more time, I will scream…..I now understand what Rosie meant when she said EH and Annie Oakley (Palin) were identical twins. They truly are, both of them fake, smug, condascending twits…..I cannot go back and watch the rest of the debate, I cannot watch this woman with her fake smile go on and on and on……sorry I’m rambling…..Kelly, where’s the valium?
October 3rd, 2008 at 4:31 am
The View executives made a wise decision to keep EH on board otherwise they would have lost a significant % of viewers. EH’s decision to stay, well, that was her decision.
I for one reach for the remote to change channels when the political opinions of the left, yell the loudest and attempt to over power EH. And while I may or may not always agree with statements made by any one person on this panel, it is entertainment. Entertainment draws viewers, which in turn draws big advertisers which equals $$$$.
Remember it’s all about the $$$$. Glad EH is staying on board.
October 3rd, 2008 at 5:50 am
I don’t mind hearing the Democratic AND GOP viewpoints on The View. Makes the show interesting. But EH isn’t smart, isn’t factual, isn’t the least bit tolerant of others. She always butts in, answers questions with other questions, cannot present a rational opinion and is a shill for BG and Faux News. Dump her! I would rather listen to Bay Buchanan…at least she’s intelligent. Or the great Mary Matalin…very, very smart and in-the-know…..too smart for The View, actually…
October 3rd, 2008 at 5:57 am
LOVE YOU ELISABETH!!! Dont go anywhere!! Why is this show so unbalanced? Because the democrats / liberals need more help to make their idiotic points! If your ideas and points were actually logical you wouldnt need ALL FOUR of you, plus all of your liberal guests to make your points! GO ELISABTH!!!!!!!! Like Dianne Carroll said you are beautiful and smart!!!
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:00 am
Sad news!!! I was looking forward to the announcement that Bitsy is leaving. I am surprised Barbara Walters allows EH’s disrespect towards her. But, not my show. IMO, EH should be replaced by a Republican woman of maturity, who does not screech.
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:07 am
If you watch this show, its obvious that everyone interupts, everyone butts in, everyone states their views/opinions. I disagree, EH does make valid points and facts to support much of what she has to say. She is informed and intelligent, let’s give her credit here. JB is so left and HATES the right wing party that she is not even rational. JB has the most obnoxious, shrilling voice on that panel.
I go back to my original comment, this is a busines to make money. The View is about ratings which equates to $$$$$! Rosie was causing ratings to go down…she’s gone. This panel, including EH, keeps their ratings up. I would venture to say, that if The View executives release EH, they will lose viewers and ratings will drop. On the other hand if EH were to leave for better opportunities, good for her.
And I’ll add, the political temperature has everyone at odds with one another. I am glad to see women who are successful, who have passionate views on issues that all of us are concerned about AND have the freedom to express those views on public TV, whether we agree or disagree.
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:10 am
YAY!!! I am so glad that she is not leaving! She is a great addition to the show! We love her in Kentucky!
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:21 am
I’m telling you all.. Sherri is the one that will leave first. As annoying and vile Elisabeths views are, at least she has some. Sherri offers nothing but stupidity and voice imitations.
Whenever The View is talked about on other show or in the news, Sherri is never mentioned and if she is, she is referred to as ‘that other one’. She makes no impact on the show if she was gone, most wouldn’t even notice unless it was brought to their attention!
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:44 am
Lynn C you read my mind. Kay Buchanan or Mary Matalin would be awesome on the show. I tend to agree with Joy’s views but I would love a more balanced show. The problem is not giving EH more time to talk, the problem is she’s not intelligent enough to handle the conversation, debates and/or discussions. She gets flustered and acts like a two year old. A republican with substance who can articulate a clear thought would make the show so much better.
October 3rd, 2008 at 8:21 am
#8, Monique: Thank you! As for EH….When SP couldn’t answer Couric’s ? on what do you read?…I was trying to think how the Repubs could possibly ’spin’ it. They really outdid themselves!!! EH says she didn’t want to endorse, blah, blah, blah any newspaper or magazine. THAT is what makes EH so obnoxious. It’s the daily briefing that she must get,on how to answer or spin everything. An intelligent , honest conversation/debate with the rest of the panel would be great. But honestly…can you imagine having to defend someone like McFake and Palen? The spin doctors must be going out of their mind!
Actually, I could give a rats whatever about EH. Did ANYONE
October 3rd, 2008 at 8:30 am
Continued. (I hit the wrong key.) DID ANYONE WATCH THE DEBATE???? SP did better than she did with Couric, because she didn’t have to answer questions she had no answer to. She even said she wasn’t going to be made to answer questions. It wasn’t a debate, it was a rally on SP’s side with the same old talking points and folksy BS that she always spouts on the campaign trail. ‘Just Sarah being Sarah’! I am much more sick of her than EH. At least EH is harmless. SP has the potential to seriously hurt America as we know it.
October 3rd, 2008 at 8:51 am
# 27. I’m also a registered Independent. For the last 8 years we have tolerated the stupid talking points and the right-wing defending Bush. Excuse me if my tolerance has run out. I’m so VERY tired of people saying she is being ganged up on, maybe the other women on the Show are also sick of her defending all things republican. Let her say something that’s factual and makes sense and then I ‘ll listen.
The best way to watch the View is to record it and fast forward when she starts talking. She doesn’t get it and never will.
Joyce,
Palin only talked about things she knew about and stayed away from things she didn’t know anything about. She talked to the voters as if they were a Mr. Rogers audience.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:29 am
Vile??? By definition: despicable: morally reprehensible — EH is NOT these things. If you disagree with her politics, admit that, but to say she is vile is total wrong.
No one on this program fits this character reference.
I don’t get it.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:33 am
You’re right Rainlillie. She’s a real ‘politician’! That a lot of people don’t see through the ’sassy, cheerleader’ facade is what’s scary.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:34 am
Please read the thread on MSN about Elizabeth Hasselbeck posted under the same heading. It should clue you into what people think of her and how your show has lost a lot of its audience just because of her. If you keep her on the show, that goes to show those of us who think she is unqualified for this show that our “view” doesn’t count!
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:48 am
EH has the right to believe what she belives but when she will not agree to disagree with the rest of the cast like they do with her it gets annoying.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:52 am
even my boyfriend who is in army ROTC and a devoted republican conservative says that she sounds so dumb sometimes and it is unfair that they pick a dumb republican agianst all those smart democrats
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:01 am
#42. “I don’t get it.”
That’s the problem. In my eyes she’s a vile human being. Not because of her politics, because of her character and her actions.
#43.
Joyce,
There is hope. My right-wing mother in-law is not voting for McCain because of Palin. She’s going to sit this one out.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:03 am
“EH does make valid points and facts to support much of what she has to say. ”
Please give examples.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:03 am
EH is disrespectul to the rest of the panelists. She does not converse but raises her voice in a shrill tone and answers questions with more questions. There is nothing new and exciting from her. She just sits and waits to poune on anyone who dare oppose her party, regardless if they have a valid point or not. How much longer can we watch the same old nonsense.
She always wants to be top dog and had to interject herself into every single conversation. She is never allowed to be wrong and refuses to listen to the others.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:09 am
EH doesn’t “enjoy” the ladies…she enjoys the paycheck. And frankly, I don’t blame her.
I’m sure Joy’s there for the same reason. What do they get paid for a 5 hr work week?? I saw Rosie said they’re not paid that well since it’s not syndicated, but relative to what? Whatever. Today was a good show. It reminded me of the old days, pre-red/white/the view idiocy. They chatted about themselves. Things I didn’t know, and it was funny.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:11 am
Liberal liberal liberal. It’s all the liberal’s fault. They never let poor Bitsy talk, they always gang up on her, she is such a victim. Poor poor Elisabeth.
Give me a break. Bitsy gives as good as she gets. I could care less about her political affiliation or personal belief system. I don’t care for her behavior She comes off as screechy, whiny, combative and incredibly immature.
But continue to blame it all on “the liberals”. I guess you can then deflect from her abject failure to come off as a reasonable and rational host and continue to make her out to be the innocent.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:14 am
Rosie is also a registered independent. So is Lou Dobbs.
I can’t name one Independent that I know personally who doesn’t lean right or left.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:25 am
I watched the debate and can say with all confidence that if Barack Obama had handled the debate in the manner Palin did, he would have been crucified, torn apart. “He is clearly not ready to lead”, “He didn’t answer any questions”..blah, blah, blah. When someone can say they are NOT going to answer questions during a live debate, that clearly says to me you do NOT have an answer. Palin was more relaxed, but she still did not have anything to say. She would make a great publicist.
There was no substance to her “answers”. I will give the McCain camp credit for being well rehearsed. For a moment at the beginning of the debate, I honestly thought she was reading from a cue card, or teleprompter. Robotic. Had a lot to say, yet said nothing.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:46 am
EH will come onto the show with a huge grin because Palin didn’t actually derail McCain last nite at the debate. I watched with bated breath and when she completed her first sentence thought she just might get thru it fairly well (for her) and she did. She made some stupid faces(winking, constant fake smile) and made some cutesy remarks(let’s see I’ve only been doing this for 5 weeks now and you betcha, etc)but Joe Biden beat her easily. She was scary when she made some remarks such as she would like to see the veep job expanded(like Cheney did) and would like to get more involved in the Senate. Biden reminded her that if she’s elected veep(God forbid) then she would be in the Exec branch only and NOT the Judicial branch! Good for you Joe.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:32 am
sarah palin has proven anyone can be well prepared with answers to questions that will likely be asked…the real test is when you are asked a question you don’t see coming…what if she had been asked “a constitutional admendment is being suggested that would raise the voting age to 21, what are your thoughts?” what is she going to say, let me get back to ya, let me check with my advisors, or perhaps she would pull an elisabeth and say reverand wright, flag pin, rezko
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:40 am
“sarah palin has proven anyone can be well prepared with answers to questions that will likely be asked”
What she proved is that anyone can get away without answering the question if follow ups are not permitted.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:23 pm
“Certainly puts your stab at the quote to shame.”
Hardly especially since that’s exactly what she did. She evaded, deflected and outright did not answer the questions. Lots of reciting and rambling, though.
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:24 pm
Rainliilie Yay for her! My son who is a lifelong Repub. and enjoyed the tax break he got under Bush is going to take the hit on his taxes and vote for Obama. He said it’s worth a $35,000.00 hit to get rid of the ‘evil empire’ Bush, Cheney and Rove!
October 3rd, 2008 at 12:48 pm
tuned in today to hear the discussion post VP Debate….not one word did I hear. Me thinks there are some sour grapes going on….guess it’s not so fun to be outspoken and opinionated when you’re odd man out and a novice. E is out of her league.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:33 pm
What a smart Republican you are, Bonnie. Just like EH putting all Democrats/Liberals in one basket. Another one of you who says mindless things and agrees with EH. Now it all makes sense.
October 3rd, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Thank you Stacy! #56: You’re right, I stand corrected. When she didn’t want to or couldn’t answer a question, she ‘talked to the American people’. All her talking points, over and over. But since you can’t see that, there’s no reason for me to go on. My Granmother used to say ‘a person convinced against their will, remains of the same opinion still’!
October 3rd, 2008 at 3:42 pm
59 Barbara B
Fri show was taped on Wed
They will talk about the debate on Monday
October 3rd, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Ok people… listen up…. the voice of reason is about to speak
ok…. now that I have your attention lets get real.
The View is NOT a political show. They didnt go out looking for right wing nut cases or left win nut cases either. They went looking for people that fit.
35 Beth said The View is about ratings which equates to $$$$$! Rosie was causing ratings to go down…she’s gone. TOTALLY wrong….. Rosie increased ratings and they were sad to see her leave. They offered her over 10 million to stay… when she actually left she only had 2 weeks left on her contract she just left early.
Whoopi was a very good replacement. Not because she is left wing, but because she is fair. Sherri was selected because of her lack of politics (IMO) a bad choice because she doesnt have much of a view.
Elizabeth drives me nuts, but I tolerate her because she is just like my mom. Every day we have some sort of political “chat” What drives me nuts is, I grew up with her….and things she says now she didnt believe back then. (she “became” republican because of her disappointment of Bill Clinton)
As it has been said time and time again….. Joy wants me…. I just wish she wasnt so quiet about it.
Alright…. if anyone is left Ill tell u a secret about EH
When the whole hubbub with Rosie came about she became a “folksy hero” and it became a ploy. She became the Heroic Republican….defender of the right wing nut cases. She was even given “talking points” from Bill Getty at one point. I think, after being patted on the back by faux news and their ilk….she started to believe it.
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:23 pm
If she left and another liberal replaced her, I would quit watching…I like the show b/c of the bantering and discussion of different sides of the issues. The show would lose its edge and become like every other media outlet - one-sided and liberal. For those that get annoyed by EH, I likewise get annoyed with Joy - strikes a balance - unfortunately there are 3 other liberals sitting on that table too!
October 4th, 2008 at 8:13 am
Thanks for this Roger, I didn’t realize that.

How many damn times must it be said. The problem with TLB(EH) isn’t the fact that she’s a republican. The problem is she distorts the facts and behaves like a little snot.
Some may find that entertaining, those of us who prefer adult conversation based on FACTS, find it down right annoying. I’m finding that her fans are just as rude and ignorant as she is.
Just read through their post on this site.
October 4th, 2008 at 11:30 am
They are all cut from the same cloth. Where are the Regan Republicans?
October 4th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Wasn’t Ronald Reagan a Hollywood actor? The Gipper?
So much for the Celebrity vs Presidential argument.
October 4th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
Kelly,
If Obama/Biden behaved like the McCain/Palin I wouldn’t support them. Both Obama and Biden have carried themselves like gentlemen. They even defended Plain’s family. You didn’t see McCain come out and defend Mrs. Obama when she was being attacked. Cindy McCain even made comments implying that Mrs. Obama wasn’t proud of her country.
October 4th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
I, too, find Elisabeth Hasselbeck rude and obnoxious and would like to see her replaced.
To be fair, it probably would have to be with another young, attractive, conservative Republican.
I could never think of anyone suitable to suggest but a day or two ago I saw someone on the Rachel Maddow show who I would consider suitable. Her name is Nancy Pfotenhauer, and she is currently an advisor to the McCain campaign. She politely but firmly made her speaking points in a logical, comprehensive manner. If she can do that on Rachel’s show, she can probably do it anyplace.
You can read a little about Nancy Pfotenhauer here: http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Nancy_Pfotenhauer
October 4th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
To add to what Rain said:
when Corsi came out with his book, a reporter asked McCain about it. McCain’s reply? “Ya gotta keep your sense of humor!” I guess he found it funny?
He lost any amount of respect that I had left for him right then.
October 4th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
I agree rain and Stacee.
Obama/Biden are so easy to defend. I learn from them, how I would like to be. I am proud to be voting Obama! I believe my vote for Obama shows my respect for my fellow man, for our troops, and for my country.
October 4th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
The problem is that the McCain/Palen ticket is not defendable. So they must resort to the repub talking points, which are repeated over and over, ad nauseum. Rainlillie, you’re right. A really intelligent conversation with valid new points to discuss would be interesting and enlightening. I’m just sick of hearing the same spin points all of the time. Or, ‘well Obama did the same thing’, instead of answering a question.
#63: Your grannie said that? No use talking to you, I see. There are none so blind as they that won’t see.
October 4th, 2008 at 7:54 pm
#72 Yeah, I recall the crypt keeper elaborating more on that statement taken out of context by MO. After what I am sure she and Barack and their families have endured and continue to endure, she now feels maybe the “change” is slowly but surely coming. To see that a Black man could possibly become prez of the US now is amazing and something we never thought we’d see and to say the least the response is refreshing. Black and white coming together to support their candidate as his culture/color isn’t important. Just simply what he stands for. So I can understand why MO made the statement. However, McLame and his sleaze campaign took it and spun it into a negative. You know your are really sad when you have to put someone else down in order to feel better about yourself. However, what goes around comes around. Shortly after that, a comment made by McCain arose and little was said about that. He said, (paraphrasing) that he was not proud of American until he was deprived of it. Imagine that.
McCain never once came to MO’s defense while she was the target of obvious racism. The New Yorker, Faux News (referring to her as Obama’s baby mama), another mag with MO on the cover displaying her as an angry black woman, and even the twit from the view at Cindy’s luncheon. If no one else was willing to address the twit’s behavior it should have been the old crow himself. Her behavior was not only just stupid, but showed her obvious hate toward the Obamas’. Her dislike for them is too profound for it to only be based on the fact that they are Democrats.
She is not worthy to polish this woman’t pumps. Yet, she makes an implication of MO having something to hide when she visited the view not too long ago. Again, what goes around comes around. I distinctly recall Shannon P commenting on the interview Cindy had with Reader’s Digest where the interviewer noted that there were subjects that were sensitive and OFF TOPIC. I am sure that is not the first time. No mention of that, however.

#69 Rainlillie
The problem is she distorts the facts and behaves like a little snot.
I agree 100%….. If she could make a point that she actually believed Id defend her…… but when she spews crap to defend an indefensible question……. thats where I draw the line.
Sometimes I think it is a big act. When she used to defend Bush…. she was wrong a lot but she made actual points. After she became Captain Republican…. and started receiving talking points from BG…… she became more Faux News like.
Mark my words
She will become impossible after Obama wins. Everything she has DEFENDED Bush about, she will ATTACK Obama about.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:01 am
ednaegan–
I have asked u before and didnt receive a response….. I dont expect one again but Ill give u another shot.
Do u think Bush has been good for our country? If so… in what way?
October 5th, 2008 at 9:04 am
I think Bush has been good…for my personal growth:
Without Bush, I would have never known how many of my family and friends are racist. I would have never known what it was like to nearly lose a loved one in Iraq and subsequently be reminded of how precious he is to me. I would have never become a political activist or fact finder. I would have never become a whistleblower – assisting in the removal of our own local crooked politicians who funneled money to a Republican lobbyist and abused their power. I would have never reached professional highs only to lose everything and learn the true lesson of what is important. I would have never known how often and easily the power elite lie to us. I would have never studied the war in Vietnam, my father’s war, and come to understand the history, fallout and emotional and economic impact on our great nation.
I would have never known that FEAR is the driving force that separates us all, and GREED is the rudder.
Thank you Bush…for the great humbling of America.
October 5th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
Good post, Kelly. Thank you Bush for the great *dumbing down* of America and the *selling out* of America. We have much to thank this cretin for, now don’t we?
October 5th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
Well, you’re a true Republican ednaegan, you can’t even offer up an ORIGINAL insult.
You must be the only person left on the face of the earth still defending Bush. Even EH is smart enough to avoid the topic.
I’ve noticed that it’s often men who call women venomous, and it’s always those men who are caught in wrong-doings.
It only feels venomous when it’s the truth, and you’re the lie.
October 5th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Is it Ed Naegan, Edna Egan, or Tim Hasselbeck?
October 5th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Well stated Monique. It is too bad that Elizabeth Hasselbeck, John McCain or Sarah Palin don’t read these blogs. Perhaps if they did they would reconsider their position. But for them it is better to slander a man than to admit they have no experience or policy. I shutter everytime EH and her clone Sarah Palin open their mouths because you know only half truths will come out.
October 5th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
So Tim, all of America wants to know…
What’s it like being married to TLB?
Do you ever win an argument?
How’s the gig on FOX going?
Do you miss football?
Do you think she’ll leave The View?
Do you two see yourselves more like the Republican version of Posh and Becks or more like the FOX version of John and Cindy McCain?
Did you know she hangs out in the bathroom hoping you’ll fall asleep?
October 5th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
Tell Tim I’ll pop in one of his old games and give it a try!
October 5th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
LOL Kelly.
October 5th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
If I may borrow a quote “Oh no say it ain’t so Joe wink wink!” (say it like an over the top Shirley Temple line from any one of her movies) LOL– I was hoping EH had gathered her toys and left the sandbox!!
Trying to figure out which EH is more annoying the smug, aren’t I clever EH or Pity me because I am sooo not happy here and I am ganged up on EH– they both make me want to puke!!!
Kelly you are hilarious!! Keep it coming girlfriend they just don’t know how tough we Ohio women are!!
Rain you too are hilarious but we always knew how tough you New Yorkers are!!
October 5th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
LOL! Ya’ll be nicer to Bitsy now!
Dog-diggly-gone It!
October 5th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Of course you do. (smiley)
October 5th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
Scratch (smiley).
I mean (wink!) (wink!)
Youbetcha!
October 5th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
It’s too bad she isn’t leaving - I find her to be the only little girl on a panel of women. Her high-pitched, shrill voice screaming sound bites from the Republican machine doesn’t lend itself well to any in-depth discussion. Her knowledge of issues in this political campaign are is easily mined as is Ms. Palin’s - pretty short drilling.

Biden Makes 14 Lies at Debate:
1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes
on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.
2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said
that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack
Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.
3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed
offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental
Shelf.”
4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack
Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed
a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had
already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.
5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just
told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America
and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.
6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating
and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he
voted against it 23 times.
7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people’s
health insurance coverage — they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent
fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false
8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in
Alaska — she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it’s not a windfall profits
tax.
9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander
in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan,
but the commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D.
McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with
tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.
10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation — he actually
called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.
11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on
Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.
12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see
higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals
making $200,000 or more.
13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles
that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles
that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic
stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”
14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won’t
pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

SARAH PALIN’S 18 LIES
1. FANNIE MAE/FREDDIE MAC: Palin said “it was John McCain who pushed so hard with the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac reform measures,” but fact checkers say that’s “Quite A Stretch” And “Barely True,” and that McCain was a “latecomer” to the discussion.
2. FUNDAMENTALS ARE STRONG: Palin tried to say “John McCain saying our economy was strong” but McCain has used the phrase “The Fundamentals Of The Economy Are Strong” At Least 16 Times This Year.
3. PARTISAN POLITICS: Palin said McCain is “known for putting partisan politics aside to just get the job done,” but he has voted with Bush 90% of the time in the Senate and bragged about his support for Bush on important issues.
4. TAXES ATTACK: Palin repeated the attack that Obama voted for higher taxes 94 times, which the New York Times says is “false,” CNN says is “Misleading,” and FactCheck.org says is “inflated.”
5. TOBACCO REGULATION: Palin said to “look at the tobacco industry” as an example of McCain pushing for even harder and tougher regulations. But McCain opposed expanding the SCHIP children’s health insurance program for 5.8 million children because it would increase tobacco taxes.
6. SPENDING INCREASES: Palin said Obama is is proposing “nearly a trillion dollars in new spending,” but didn’t mention that he has also proposed cuts to balance it out, an attack CNN has already debunked as “misleading” and that ignores the far larger cost of McCain’s tax cuts and spending hikes.
7. HEALTH CARE: Palin claimed Obama’s health plan is “government run” which has been widely debunked as a “canard.”
8. HEALTH CARE. Palin says taxes wouldn’t go up under the McCain health care plan, a fact even his own campaign has acknowledged isn’t true.
9. TROOPS: Palin repeated what the AP called the “highly misleading” attack that Obama opposed funding for the troops, and Factcheck.org notes that the same methodology would lead to the same conclusion for McCain.
10. GLOBAL WARMING: Palin said “I don’t want to argue about the causes” for global warming, when she has clearly taken the position that she doesn’t not believe it is man-made.
11. MCCAIN IS CONSISTENT: Palin said McCain” doesn’t tell one thing to one group and then turns around and tells something else to another group,” when that is exactly what he has done on immigration, telling Hispanic leaders he was for comprehensive reform instead of the enforcement focused approach he has taken with conservatives.
12. MCCLELLAN NOT MCKIERNAN: Palin referred to the US commander in Afghanistan, David McKiernan as “McClellan.”
13. MCKIERNAN ON “SURGE:” Palin said that [McKiernan] did not say a surge wouldn’t work in Afghanistan, when just yesterday he said “The word I don’t use for Afghanistan is ’surge,’ ” McKiernan stressed, saying that what is required is a “sustained commitment” to a counterinsurgency effort that could last many years and would ultimately require a political, not military, solution
14. KILLING CIVILIANS. Palin said “Obama had said that all we’re doing in Afghanistan is air raiding villages and killing civilians and such a reckless, reckless comment and untrue comment again hurts our cause. That’s not what we are doing there.” Unfortunately, the Associated Press says that Obama was right in discussing a critically important point about avoiding civilian casualties.
15. TEACHING: Palin said we need to make sure “that education in either one of our agendas, I think, absolute top of the line,” when McCain has repeatedly favored tax cuts for the wealthy over funds for more teachers and class size reduction.
16. PARTISAN APPOINTMENTS: Palin said “You do what I did as governor. And you appoint people regardless of party affiliation. Democrats, independents, Republicans, you walk the walk, don’t just talk the talk” when she repeatedly appointed friends and supporters to positions for which they weren’t qualified.
17. FOCUS ON CLIMATE CHANGE: Palin falsely claimed that she was the first governor to form a climate change subcabinet, when at least 28 states had already taken action.
18. DARFUR DIVESTMENT: Palin claimed that “when I and others” found out that the state had money invested in Sudan that “we called for divestment,” when the reality is that Palin’s appointees worked to kill a Darfur divestment plan.
you know she had to best him. darn it 18 of them

Kudo’s to Barbara Walters for putting Elisabeth in her place the other day!!! It’s about time!!! Problem is, she should have been let go with Rosie and saved us all one big headache! Every time she opens her mouth, I want to throw something at her.
Why she was even picked to be on that show will remain a mystery! She was simply a housewife and got herself the needed attention by being on Survivor and being engaged to a football player. Big deal. The View could have picked someone far more interesting and qualified than her. It’s time for her to take her one-sided “view” and leave the show and the rest of us in peace!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE REST OF THE CREW AT THE VIEW!!!!
October 6th, 2008 at 9:11 am
That is the best news! We love Elisabeth! Yay! SHe adds so much to the show!
October 6th, 2008 at 9:18 am
ok…. so why are you on the view if you dont know what you are talking about! just becouse your a blonde mom doesnt mean your smart!! you fight all the other women and they at least know what they are talkin about!!! i think you need to shut up becouse you really make your self look really stupid to those who are intellegent!! i dont know how any one takes you seriouse when you dont even sound seriouse, you just look like a mean lil girl who grew up way to fast!!! so quit the view and why dont you be apart of your kids life!!!
October 6th, 2008 at 9:36 am
Why doesn’t someone give Elizabeth the boot once and for all. I quit watching the View for a long time because of her and I have just turned it off again. She is an idiot!!! Perhaps there would be a place for her on the Palin campaign trail, fact finder, speech writer??? I wonder what she will look back and think of herself, when and if, she ever matures like the rest of the women on the View??? Fox, come and get her!!!
October 6th, 2008 at 9:38 am
I am so tired of hearing Elisabeth!! She gets on a rampage of her politics. She brings down the show. It’s so negative!! And everytime they start talking about politics I change the channel. Everyone is talking over each other and it’s rude. She seems to think that she is going to change peoples minds. Hope she starts to watch what she says cause I use to be a big fan of her and now I really can’t stand to watch her!!
October 6th, 2008 at 9:42 am
I wonder if you think its okay for the candidates to sling dirt what about Palins’ son having to go in the army because it was that or JAIL for vandilizing school buses. What about bringing that up!!!
October 6th, 2008 at 10:06 am
Iam so sorry Elisabeth is not leaving,I will take that time to work in my yard.I have always enjoyed watching the veiw;but no more she is very childish acting, on the show and one who will cause a lots of medical problem to a well person,my blood pressure is high now just knowing that she’s not leaving
October 6th, 2008 at 10:13 am
I am also an Independent. I am mostly not conservative but know and/or am related to plenty. Elizabeth just needs to go. This is supposed to be a show featuring the point of “View” of women. It is a disgrace that they cannot feature an intelligent conservative point of view on the show. By leaving her as the only conservative it portrays both women and conservatives as idiots. While I disagree with the conservative point of view much of the time I have had many conversations regarding the facts and issues with people with whom I disagree without either of us resorting to shouting and pouting and spouting of laughable and meaningless sound bytes. Unlike Elisabeth’s statement last week, I believe that to read and listen to other points of view and to engage in meaningful debate with people who hold them are not equivilent to “endorsing” those points of view. By keeping her on the show, it leaves the other cohosts who might want to actually engage in such debate with two bad alternatives: to ignore her completely and appear rude; or to sink to her level and give her exactly what she wants, an excuse to appear a target of some kind and evidence that the more liberal members of the panel do not respond any more intelligently than she does. Enough is enough.
October 6th, 2008 at 11:22 am
This is supposed to be a show featuring the point of “View” of women. It is a disgrace that they cannot feature an intelligent conservative point of view on the show.
Are you forgetting there are people with the same point of view as her. She has more fact behind what she says then Joy and Whoopi is such an angry extremest no one can even relate to her. Elizabeth is very happy and easy to get along with when there is no talk of politics the other two are always difficult.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:00 am
Elizabeth only convined me more to vote for Obama. She is so filled with hate as most republicans are prone, only makes a good case for Barack Obama. If Obama were a terrorist threat he would have been exposed by America as a whole and not the talking heads led by Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy or Elizabeth.
Saw McCain in a clip say he would not resort to negative campaigning, so much for truthfullness(trustworthy).
Tuesday we should see how Barack Obama answers questions about his loyalty already answered but rehashed by republican talking heads.
October 7th, 2008 at 10:39 am
I used to HATE Elizabeth… I wrote MANY times before YELLING that she should be thrown off of The View. After today, 10/08/08, and her idiotic whining about Barack Obama - I see her in a different light. She epitomizes the stupidity of the conservative right. Let me step back a bit…
My Mom has a friend (I’ll call her Lil) who continually emails her. My Mom does not understand computers (nor does she WANT to) so I get her emails, print them out, and then give them to her. Any hooo.. Lil is a good Catholic Conservative Republican. She goes to church, helps out with charity work, hospital work etc. A good Christian who she sends anti-Democrat, anti-Obama, sinister jokes/cartoons, which suggest killing Obama, emails EVERY DAY. They are forwarded emails that fly around the Internet. Most are not true and hopefully not sent in good Christian ‘fun’. I look the information in the emails up for their validity. Usually they are the result of someone spewing their own hate and lies. I start at Snopes.com, Politico.com then spend the day looking on-line to verify the validity of the forwarded emails myself.
Elizabeth sounds like a repository for these emails. Neither she nor Lil take the time to look into what they spout off or send – they simply propagate the lies and believe it as the truth. I feel sorry for them and I now understand how clueless a major part of America is.
October 7th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
I am so fed up with Elisabeth’s lack of ability to offer an unbiases opinion–be it politics or otherwise. She is a true Republican–very narrow minded, can’t see the beauty of the forrest for looking at the trees and unable to offer pro vs con views on any given subject, forum or topic.
Just leave already, I have watched The View for years. However, the sound of Elisabeth’s voice and her inability to debate is causing me to change the station.
Inow enjoy watching The Family Feud.
Again, Elisabeth, just leave already.
