Sherri Shepherd Producing Sitcom
Not content with only one job, as co-host at The View, Sherri Shepherd is reportedly producing a new sitcom. According to Variety, the show, which would appear on CW, will be based on Sherri’s own life.
The plot of the show will be a woman, played by Sherri, who discovers that her husband has been unfaithful and fathered a child with another woman. Sherri’s character invites the woman and child to move in to her home.
Dave Flebotte, from Will and Grace will be the show’s writer and the show will most likely film in New York, since Sherri just moved there to do The View. No word on any co-stars at this point.

That seems a bit strange to me. Why base it on probably one of the most painful experiences of her life.

She has not gotten over it. Seems pretty hurt about it still, and has been very open about it. She doesn’t sugar-coat. I think she talks about it as much as Star J. talked about her wedding. Go, girl!

Maybe she is striking while the iron is hot (while she is famous, since The View is now in the news a lot) and hedging her bets (in case her contract isn’t renewed). Maybe she or her agent knows she’s not bringing too much to discussions and could be walking on thin ice. They dumped Debbie M. for that reason….
Nora Ephron wrote a novel and I think wrote the screenplay for the movie based on this novel, Heartburn, which was all about her husband cheating on her while she was pregnant with their second child. It was pretty funny and overall a good movie, with Meryl Streep & Jack Nicholson playing the lead. Maybe Sherrie is taking a page from her example….

“Heartburn” was a great movie! I had no idea it was based on real events.
