Star Jones Files for Divorce

by Winnie McCarthy

Former View co-host Star Jones has filed for divorce from her husband of three years, Al Reynolds. As you probably recall, prior to her wedding she alienated a lot of viewers with her repeated discussions of her elaborate wedding plans and the many sponsors of the event.

In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, she said: “Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts. . .

I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman.”

That’s rough to have your job and marriage go down the tubes at the same time.

She was a hard pill to swallow on the show. But nowhere, no way as bad as Eiisabeth’s ignorance and divisiveness.

I say dump the little witch and bring back the reformed diva.

We all makes mistakes, and most of the time we learn from them.
I have no doubt that she will emerge stronger and wiser.
I wish her all the best.

I always liked Star. I didn’t watch the View during the time period of just before her wedding.
I wouldn’t mind seeing her back on the show, if their was an opening.

If Star returned to the intelligent Diva she was when the show started, I’d love to see her back. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has learned from her experience and matured. However, if she is still the self-righteous person who left the view, no thanks. I thought she was as disenguous as Barbara (or perhaps wrose than Barbara) about leaving the show, although I think it’s normal for bosses to allow employees to find a graceful way out that saves their integrity and I don’t think Barbara intended anything less. And I don’t like the new incarnation of the studious librarian. She was much more fun and real early on. HOwever, I also realize Star was under a great deal of pressure at the time, and we all are a little delusional about people’s motivations (ours and others) at such time.
But it’s not going to happen. Star burned that bridge big time (although there probably wasn’t a bridge to burn with The View - although perhaps with others.)

I liked Star, I think she got caught up with the wedding thing, but perhaps she thought she might never marry, It was annoying and surely someone could have told her to tone it down. I think it had a lot more to do with Rosie coming on board and really that was at the root of them (BW & Geddes) forcing her out. I wonder if Rosie now understands how Star felt after what she herself went thru on the View.

  5. Stacee Says:

It’s too bad, but not surprising. Many people have been spouting the demise of this marriage for quite awhile.

  6. Eddie Says:

And they said it wouldn’t last…… Oh. Right. It didn’t.

I hear David Gest is single….

  7. Aileeny Says:

    YIKES!!!!

  8. Lopez Says:

On a superficial note, she looks fabulous in the picture.

    3. “I don’t like the new incarnation of the studious librarian. ”

LOL. I know what you mean. It seems to me like a role she’s playing. I can appreciate Star wanting to change her image from the Diva Bride, but it seems she’s veered a tad too far in the other direction.

I think the day Star Jones returns to The View is the same day Rosie returns… As fun as it would be to watch, I’m not holding my breath!

    dot, dot, dot…

    Sooo…….

My divorce will be sponsored by Larry H. Parker, The Johnny Cochran Group and 1800-LAWSUIT. Also, the private process of grieving the loss of a marriage will be sponsored by One Hour Lasik of New York, Dr. Costalot, teeth whitener to the stars and 24 Hour Fitness.”

Well, did two books, “Stand Up for Some-
thing, or You’ll Fall for Anything” Shine: A Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Journey to Finding Love and “Shine: A Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Journey to Finding Love”. Yes, WE should be learning from HER. It is still sad, indeed.

  12. Elsie Says:

“Well, did write two books…” Oops, sorry.
