Taylor Hasselbeck brings Rosie and Elisabeth together

by Winnie McCarthy

rosie-odonnell-kelli-odonnell-little-mermaid.jpgRosie O’Donnell told People magazine that “peace prevails” between her and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and it sounds like new addition Taylor Thomas Hasselbeck is the one to thank.

Rosie sent gifts to the new baby and also some to big sister Grace. Rosie stated that “I sent something for him and something for his big sister because, as the mother of four, I know that when the newborn arrives, the most important thing is a sibling gift.” Specifically she sent clothes (”as you can buy at the (Baby) Gap without being arrested”) and a soft shape sorter for Taylor and a tea set for Grace.

Rosie confirmed that she and Elisabeth have been e-mailing one another and joked that given how fit Elisabeth looks already, she looks like she adopted.

The interview with Rosie came as she arrived for the Broadway premiere of The Little Mermaid. The photo above is from her and Kelli’s arrival there last night. Note that Rosie is holding her flip video camera. I don’t think she goes anywhere without it. I am sure that there will be a video posted from her evening at the premiere.

What do you all think about the reconciliation? I figured at some point that they would start speaking again, but I do not know if they will become close friends again (if they were before). Certainly by not being on a show with one another where they discuss politics each day, they can focus their relationship more on the things that they have in common, like being moms with more than one child and art projects.

Thanks for posting the story Winne. Rosie has a big heart and she loves children. Babies have a way of healing wounds and bringing friends and families together. Hopefully the press won’t put a negative spin on this…But then again we’re talking about Rosie. Her critics never mention how much money she gives to children’s causes or even the money she has donated to the Fisher House.

  2. Viva Says:

Rosie is pure class! It doesn’t surprise me that Rosie was the one to reach out to EH. Even though they have started speaking/emailing each other because of the baby, I don’t think EH would have offered an olive branch to Rosie under different circumstances.
It is also my belief(opinion) that EH still doesn’t get what the whole fight was about and why Rosie was so upset.

“I don’t think EH would have offered an olive branch to Rosie under different circumstances.”

I was thinking the same thing. TLB has to keep the Faux news crowd happy.

    “Rosie is pure class!”
    I agree!

  4. BigMama Says:

Oh Rosie…watch your back, girl, watch your back! You’ve been stabbed once before. Please be careful with her.

  5. rainlillie Says:

    Good advice Bigmama.

  6. BigMama Says:

    Rainlillie,
Our dear sweet Rosie has been swift-boated so much by all the usual suspects in the news, I’m afraid she might forget to be wary of the sheep in wolf’s clothing, aka EH. Or maybe Rosie’s big heart just said to her, “love not fear,” and so Rosie threw caution to the wind and reached out to her. I’m lightin’ candles, crossing my fingers n toes that Rosie doesn’t get bit on the butt for this recent act of kindness.

  7. Jen Says:

HAHA omg you guys are so funny! is this like a joke? you must be robots, like on the stepford wives! “oh rosie, we love you…you have such a big heart [smile smile wink wink] Watch out for that B*tch EH dear sweet rosie [giggle giggle]….seriously girls, you need to get back to work or something, cause this is almost too comical how you talk on here!

  8. rhonda Says:

Jen, if you do not like the comments why are you here… I know Winnie didn’t want name calling and negativity but you kind of sound like a miserable human being who needs to crawl back in her hole and let other people enjoy their favourite site. Personally, I read you comment the other day about ‘liberal lezbians’and I thought it was PATHETIC!!

  9. rhonda Says:

why the negativity Jen… If you don’t like the content and cannot be respectful, why are you here. Maybe you are the one who needs to GO… I have been enjoying this site for months and u are the first person who has left rude comments. Please crawl back into your hole and let civilized people enjoy civilized discourse.

  10. Viva Says:

I know better, I really do but…”you need to get back to work” why is such an ignorant, degrading comment even necessary?
I’m a stay home mom who “gasp” happens to be intelligent, so do not imply that my judgement is somehow skewed because I happen to like Rosie.
If you don’t like what is being said here Jen then don’t come to the site.
Why are nasty people and trolls drawn to this blog?
Is there some invisible forcefield being emitted from this blog?

  11. Dee Says:

Somewhere there is a site that monitors Rosie actions and they flock to her pro-sites to whiz on the posters by calling them names. It just reinforces the stereo-type of TLB fans(thanks Rain).

I am glad Rosie feels good about this, although she needs to be careful to not get hurt again.

  12. kc Says:

I think Rosie will be at least smart enough not to rely on EH for support. But ultimately, Rosie laid the blame on the producer for their on-screen fight. I guess cutsy, girly types like EH can get away with a lot. Well, as friendly acquaintances and fellow moms, they can communicate and exchange gifts while avoiding touchy issues.

  13. Jen Says:

Like rhonda, seriously girl, i’m not here to bring negativity…it’s like this hon, you guys are here in your own little “pro rosie, anti EH” vacuum…i am trying to help ya’ll by opening your minds to what else is out there…you have been kept in a little bubble all of your lives, and i wouldn’t really mention this if only one or two people had comments like that…but it seems like EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this website feels the same way about rosie and the same way about EH…what’s up with that girl? and Viva, I do believe you are degrading yourself when you don’t feel that being a stay-at-home mom is work! i never said a specific job! being a stay-at-home mom is the hardest job out there! geez girl, don’t be so quick to degrade yourself!

  14. rainlillie Says:

“Why are nasty people and trolls drawn to this blog?
Is there some invisible forcefield being emitted from this blog?”

LOL! It’s just plain weird. Why waste your time coming to a site if the post about TLB upset you so?

“i am trying to help ya’ll by opening your minds to what else is out there.”

I have my own blog and I know “what else is out there”. I get at least one hate filled e-mail a day. Just the other day someone posted nasty things using my name. So I don’t need anyone to educate me about ” what else is out there.”

The stuff out there, is as the great goddess, queen of the universe, queen of the world calls “same, Same, Same.”

Folks, don’t forget before the sunsets, to get on your knees in front of a poster of Rosie and do your daily chant.

  15. BigMama Says:

As wonderful, wise Rosie said on her blog today:

    “dont engage in the dark
    i know its tempting
    let em rage
    dont take it in.”

  16. Sandy Says:

Well I am personally happy for both, that Rosie and Elisabeth are talking now. I also believe that they were friends, not the best of friends, but friends. I think it is a positive thing for them both. i wish them both well.

  17. Sandy Says:

Oops there is one other comment that I want to make.
Not everyone on this site dislikes E.H. True many do, but there are some who like her.
“I do”. I also like Rosie as well.
There are many times that I don’t understand some of the negative comments about E.H. , but there are also times that I find I can agree.

  18. Sandy Says:

    Rainlille,
LOL ;) I don’t always agree with you,
however your comment #14, really made me laugh. thanks, it’s been a cold, rainy, boring day. So nice to have a laugh.

  19. BigMama Says:

Sandy, hon, no one here is saying they aren’t happy for them. Or that it is negative. Goodness, everyone who isn’t downright mean or crazy would want this to work out with them. But I’m talkin’ caution and reality. Do you know the kind of person who is your friend in private, but when you are out in public they act like they don’t know you? THAT is what EH seems like. I think that occurs all the time in celebrity land. Whoopi even said so. she said her socalled friends told her they just could not afford to be seen with her in public after she got in trouble for making jokes about that silly george bush…….I worry so so much that EH will act nicey-face in their emails but will wink and snark in public about Rosie when asked. Remember how Barb did that when Bill oreilly interviewed her & attacked Rosie. Barb just kind of went along and barely tried to protest. I can see EH doing the same thing.

kc you are right about BG. but even tho he struck the match, EH could have put out the flames but she did not. no sirre she did not! she did not defend her friend rosie on air. she chose to leave her out to dry. rosie has been scorched in the press and EH knew it and fanned those flames.

Oh Rosie, please do not expect nuttin from this celebrity seeking gal. she cares more about Fox and all those folks liking her than she cares about you.

  20. Susie Says:

I think Rosie is a very forgiving person but she isn’t gullible either. So yes out of the goodness of her heart she has communicated with EH and generously sent gifts, best wishes etc. but as a daily reader of Rosie’s blog I know that she and EH haven’t met up yet, nor has Rosie gone to actually see the new baby. It’s early days, it may happen eventually, but I wouldn’t count on these two ever being more than casual friends at best. Just too different. The only reason they were friendly was because they worked together. Nothing in common really.

  21. BigMama Says:

well, ya’ll hell just froze over.

that trashy Access Hollywood show just said Rosie’s words about Brittney were ELOQUENT. of course they stole from Rosie’s blog again. She should charge them royaltie’s! LOL.

I wanted to share this small bit of good news with rosies fans here. maybe the tide is turning with the media and her. ??

  22. Sandy Says:

    i didn’t see ..I don’t watch Access Hollywood

But I did read Rosie’s “Eloquent” words concerning Brit, and I agree they were.

  23. BigMama Says:

sandy, i try NOT to watch AH and the trash gossip shows ever since they started pickin on Rosie when she and EH had their fight on the show. am SO glad I caught em redhanded complimenting our gal Rosie.

attention all K Mart Shoppers: just kiddin. EH will be on Larry King tonight friday!! ordinarily I would need an air sick bag but am gonna tune in to see if she treats rosie decent. cuz you know Larry will ask her about their “feud.” lets just see if she is as nice to ro as you just know ro would be about her.
