The View August 3rd Recap: Fall Preview Special Edition

Caroline Rhea and Melissa Claire Egan were guests hosts for this Special Edition of The View, which previewed “everything that people will be talking about this fall,” including politics, television, movies, and fashion. Elisabeth Hasselbeck was off today because she started her vacation early. According to the ABC website, The View will be on hiatus for the rest of August.
Barbara Walters got irritated when Caroline did not want to talk about what was on the card and wanted to ask Melissa about practicing kissing scenes on All My Children.
Joy Behar’s daughter is getting married this fall. Joy joked that she was being tacky though, wearing a white dress after Labor Day. (I don’t think Barbara got the joke). Caroline said that she does not want to get married. She was engaged for four years but they did not get married. She said she was chicken about it.
Anderson Cooper appeared on the show to talk about politics. Here are some of his thoughts:
During the discussion with Anderson, Barbara got irritated at Joy when she said that except for Rudy Guiliani, all the other candidates are “losers.” Barbara noted that Mitt Romney is successful and that Joy has judged them even before they opened their mouths. Barbara said it was a problem that there were no Republicans on the panel, although that no one knows her or Anderson’s political affiliations.
Jess Cagle from People magazine appeared on the show to talk about the fall television season. He talked about the following new shows:
Jill Bernstein from Entertainment Weekly appeared on the show for a fall movie preview.
Nina Garcia from Elle Magazine appeared on the show to give a fall fashion preview. Some trends:

This show is crap now. Too politcally correct. Its almost silly to think the silly people in the world will actually get offended by the word “boobs”. Walters must go…even my mother isn’t that straight laced. On a side note, Anderson Cooper= hottie with white hair.
