    Yaaaaayyy Winie!
    Congratulations! :)

I’m looking forward to seeing Queen Latifah on the show today.

  2. Viva Says:

“If there was a product that could keep men’s hair from falling out or have it grow back it would be on 60 Minutes not the View!”
    JOY IS AWESOME!!! :-)
(I may not have got the wording exactly right but that was the gist of it)

  3. Sandy Says:

    Congratulations Winnie,
I knew you won, as you should have. It was a great article.

I didn’t get to see the show today.

  4. Stacee Says:

I can’t really put my finger on it, but today’s show had a weird vibe. Was it uncomfortable watching for anyone else?

Whoopis rant about the death tax - oh woe is me. She mentioned how people are mad at her about that statement. Like that’s the only Sorry Whoopi, get over it. If she complains that people are mad at her about that, she’s in for a loooooong, harrowing time at The View. And Joy’s defense of it was even worse. Her arguments were weak and she was better to have not said anything unless she knew more about it.

And the doorman with halitosis? Was that worthy of even being defended? Sar Evan’s comment about him wearing a mask….come on. That was lame. Everyone kinda paused like WTH?

Sara was ok as a co host, though at times she seemed a little ditzy.

Even the QL and Gabrielle interview was awkward. Is there something in the air at the view?

I will say I liked that they are talking more about politics, though. Thumbs up for that!

  5. Stephanie Says:

I missed the show but I’ve witnessed that awkward vibe on the show more than once so I know what you mean Stacee.

  6. Sony Says:

Interesting that Whoopi kept confusing “a few sips” with being a drunk. On the other hand, Joy should just give it up that Bush is going to admit that he’s an alcoholic. He won’t admit to anything.

Estate Tax. Whoopi is right that she has already paid taxes on the money that she wants to leave for her children. If she invests the money, then she is also taxed if there are any gains made on it.

The following website gives a history about the estate tax.

The problem, for me, with three comediennes and entertainers on the panel is that they gripe but don’t learn. It would be great to have various experts on the panel. Maybe for a few days or more while they just go at it with the person and we all get educated and entertained in the process.

  7. nan Says:

Complete word, Sony. I’m not sure what can possible happen with three comediennes and one twit..and one old pro..no one’s getting educated about anything!

  8. Country Music Herald » Blog Archive » Country Music Stars Invade Your TV Says:

[...] artists are keeping busy in other ways this holiday season. Sara Evans will be co-hosting the View. She made her first co-hosting appearance today on the show, and will also fill in for regular co-host Elisabeth Hasselback (who is on maternity [...]

  9. rainlillie Says:

    “He won’t admit to anything.”

    So true.

  10. Stacee Says:

Oh I just realized who Sara Evans is. I remember the media frenzy surrounding her leaving Dancing With the Stars and her divorce from the husband. The sordid accusations of affairs and porn and all that. Wow. Wonder what the truth really was in that.

And Sherri saying she watched Fred Thompson on LA Law, lol. It was obvious she was trying to take up for Sara on a point she made, but she (Sherri) goofed the joke big time.

Joy somewhat echoed my thoughts today. They were discussing how Sara said she was nervous to come out because she’s a conservative and Joy was like we all pretty much share similar viewpoints or something to that effect.

  11. Lisa Says:

yes…i totally agree. Just one big weird icky vibe….this show is just not working. Part of it is intangible. The chemistry maybe? and Whoopie has to get over herself. She gets so upset when people jump in and start talking. Girl, it’s the View…and people have to say what they wanna say…when they wanna say it…get over yourself. But it’s just overall a very weird awkward vibe….and I agree, no one learns a damn thing. A bunch of fluffy celebs or comics or whatever they are…it just runs its course….and this group has run it into the ground. They need some educated, articulate professional people in there to add some sense to the mess that is now “The View”….one big mess….mop needed at 30 Rock….Barbara, Bill….get some real real people on this show quick………it’s one big snoozefest at this point………zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  12. msroncon Says:

If you drink, it doesn’t mean you are an alcoholic. AA has brainwashed a lot of people into thinking they have a problem. When courts start mandating that you have to have AA classes as part of you penalty, this is combining church and state. AA is founded on reglious beliefs. Out of all of the 12 steps, one doesn’t even say, don’t drink. I did a college thesis on AA. I[m not saying it hasn’t helped people, but you can’t lump people that like to have a drink in with alcoholics as Joy did.
    Sorry for the rant.

  13. rainlillie Says:

Hre’s some info on Sara Evans ex -husband.
“Schelske, 43, is a former Republican candidate for Congress and currently maintains a political action committee, CraigPac, dedicated to “promoting common-sense, conservative policies” and electing Republicans. He is the Executive Director for American Destiny, a right-wing organization committed to abolishing the separation between church and state “to see America shake off her lesser self and become the nation of God’s intent and our Founders’ hopes.”

#11 Lisa - I agree with everything you said in your post 100%. It’s one big mess and snoozefest!
