  1. Stacee Says:

    Thanks for posting this, Winnie.
    Way to go Whoopi.
    I really wish Bitsy would stop with the chirping in the background while someone else is speaking. It’s like she can’t control herself and must talk over people. It’s distracting, which may be why she does it - so that people can’t hear what the other hosts are saying. :roll:

  2. Sandy Says:

    Thanks so much Winnie,
    I didn’t get to see the show, so I want to see the video, even though it is slow as heck. (my server).

  3. GraceKelly Says:

    It is so ridiculous that Palin is being gagged so that we are expected to be duped into thinking she is competent.

    News that McCain wants to suspend VP debates as well.

    Is anyone hearing rumors that Biden stepping down for health reasons and Hillary stepping in?

    I also wish EH would stop chirping and ranting when others are trying to speak.

  4. Kelly Says:

    Yes, I did hear the rumor about Biden stepping down.

    I apologize for the length of the next post - but I hope it changes some minds…

  5. Kelly Says:

    There are some disturbing stories out there:

    Clinton and his bare minimum efforts to support Obama;
    Obama’s birth certificate and his citizenship;
    Talk of Biden stepping down after debates;
    Talk of Clinton not camping for Obama until after the Jewish Holidays;
    Talk of Hillary stepping up as VP candidate;
    Postponement of Debate – the real reason
    Is McCain trying to buy more study time for Sarah or is he hoping to have Sarah speak tomorrow and surprise Biden? Or, do they just want to sabotage of Biden’s plans to step down (if true)?

    Hillary or Biden works for me. I don’t think Obama will lose any points by switching VPs this late in the game – Hillary’s support is solid. But why the change when Obama is so far in the lead (9%)? However, we do still have a large number of undecided voters. Is Bill pressuring him – we’ve all heard Bill Clinton speak. Bill called for the interviews with The View, David Letterman, Larry King and others. He seems to be sending a message to Obama: Hillary or else. This morning with CBS, he again praised McCain and said he “trust him”??? I’ve never seen anyone (or any campaign) lie as much as McCain. And Bill trusts him? Richard Gere followed Bill Clinton’s interview today and poked fun at Bill for not enthusiastically supporting Obama (but he will once Obama’s president Gere said) and even called Harry Smith out on camera for saying off camera that Obama would make a great president.

    McCain announced early yesterday he would like to postpone the debates. And of course, that miserable excuse for a man, BUSH, backed him up by beckoning the two back to Washington. From what I’ve read, McCain is not on this committee, and it’s a closed-door session and I am certain this has more to do with Palin’s failed Gibson and Couric interviews and their resulting drop in the polls. The fact that the president would play wingman and ONCE AGAIN abuse his power to rig this election is appalling America Politics at its historical worst. Besides, who’s listening to Bush, isn’t he the one who sold us Iraq? US Big Oil just signed a contract to privatize Iraq’s oil – once maintained by the Iraqi government. Mission Accomplished.

    Bob Schieffer thinks McCain is needed in DC to rally republicans to pass the bailout plan. Bob also thinks McCain is trying to flip the debates and get Sarah on earlier (hoping to catch Biden off guard).

    Rachel Maddow also got her hands on government transcripts that showed the Republicans delayed troop withdrawal from Iraq for another year for domestic political gain. That, coupled with the economy, has helped to drop McCain in the polls. And Sarah’s UN tea parties didn’t help. She was overheard discussing family and how darn good looking she is….you betcha. No politics were discussed, or reported, since reporters weren’t allowed into the UN meetings??????

    *Couric Interview: Sarah called for a surge in Afghanistan and additional troops in Iraq. If you recall, we started with 16,000 troops in Vietnam, increased that to 500,000, and still the soldiers came home in defeat and without many of their 58,000 fallen soldiers. In total the US had 8 Million soldiers in Vietnam…you cannot win a foreign Civil War, and Iraq is in a Civil War. The military is still performing recovery missions in Vietnam. They are literally bringing home bones. Let’s not repeat our history. Families have been forever destroyed by Vietnam, Vets are homeless and US support for their care is abysmal. Reenlistment in Iraq is at an all-time low and suicide attempts were 12,000 in 2007 (not the reported 790 the VA lied about).

    We are spending $10Billion per month in Iraq now totaling $600Billion, which is only $100Billion less then the Wall Street Bailout. Both Bush disasters will cost Americans $5Trillion…that’s over $1 million per family. Start hiding your money under your mattress.

  6. Stacee Says:

    The rumor of Biden dropping out is ridiculous. It’s probably put out by people who want to make Biden look bad and the Obama campaign shaky.
    And like there would be a set date of Oct 5 for all this to happen. :roll:
    If it were true that Hillary would step in and be on the ticket, Bill would be in on it. If that were the case, Bill would be talking Obama UP a heck of a lot more than he is doing now!

  7. rainlillie Says:

    Great point, Stacee.

    Biden isn’t going anywhere. Obama made the best choice. Let’s move on.

  8. Kelly Says:

    That is a good point Stacee - if there were any truth to the Biden bailout, based on that notorious faux email, Clinton would be stumping for Obama already.
    These Republicans are a piece of work:
    -false emails
    -false letters to the editor
    -false attacks on Obama
    -false statements
    -Republicans pretending to be Democrats blogging about pretend children in Iraq.
    -Manipulating national emergencies for political maneuvering and extending the Iraq war, placing those soldiers lives in danger, for political gain.

  9. Deborah Says:

    What I find really really knowing about EH is she is already defending her Party before the other person is done speaking but yet try and interrupt her - and wow she gets pissed.

    I do notice BW shushing EH more often (when she tries to interrupt others).

    I am always just so suprised that someone of BW’s calibre and experience allows EH to get away with what she does.

    I want a show where I can watch and listen to all the views, whether I agree with them or not. EH is just always on her podium spewing a one line mantra wearing blinders, refusing to be adult and mature enough to possibly hear others viewpoint. Childish or talking head to quote WG.

  10. Linda Says:

    I wanted to jump through tv watching today’s view (Thursday) and shake EH about her idiotic views of mccain/palin. Did she forget how she went after Obama for Rev. Wright, but its ok for palin to be exercised on camera. Come on. I’m so sick of her speaking out for mc/cain/palin and trying to be their spokesperson. McCain is pulling a political stunt,as his numbers are falling and he is unprepared to debate. Palin cannot speak about anything (her interview with Katie Couric was frightening). She CANNOT step in to the President’s office. I am scared to death about McCain/Palin being office. Are the American people that blind or stupid to put these 2 in office. I am sure the VP debate will be cancelled as Palin cannot debate and certainly will make a fool of herself. What about the $5 million this debate is costing Mississippi? Are we suppose to sweep that under the rug two. We don’t need McCain in Washington - he is not on the committee and has not voted on anything since April 08. If he can’t devote 90 minutes to the American people to debate, then he is not suited to be in our country’s highest office. If he can’t multi-task he should step away. This move is political suicide. McCain/Palin will lye steal - don anything to get into the President’s office. We as Americans need to open our eyes and think - do we want another 4 years of the same garbage! We certainly can’t afford it. I can’t believe anyhone - Repulicans, Democrats, Independents would vote for this team. We must vote on the issues and who is the right person to lead our country. We need a stable calm intelligent person, not some hot head who throws temper tantrums when things are not going his way. We don’t need another Bush - the country will fall apart if this happens.

  11. Jennifer Says:

    Elizabeth has the right to speak, don’t forget people its our right freedom of speech. U get to speak your mind about her as she is about the campaign. No I’m not on her side, just stating the facts. And everyone on the show buts in on eachoters conversation, maybe watch a little closer. Barbara walters interrupted John McCain terrible, rude. Whoopie is the only one who has manners.

  12. rainlillie Says:

    McCain didn’t have to physically go to Washington to help solve the problem. We have technology that allows people to conduct business from all over the world. You’d think he’d know this, since he allegedly invented the Blackberry.

    If he can’t participate in the debate, I’m all for letting the VP candidates debate on Friday.

  13. Dana Says:

    Jennifer, You are correct, EH has a right to speak her mind. The problem is she doesn’t know how to do it in a professional, adult, intelligent manner.

  14. Stacee Says:

    “Elizabeth has the right to speak, don’t forget people its our right freedom of speech.”

    Who says she does not have the right to freedom of speech?

    “And everyone on the show buts in on eachoters conversation, maybe watch a little closer. Barbara walters interrupted John McCain terrible, rude. Whoopie is the only one who has manners.”

    No other host talks under their breath or chirps in the background while the other host is talking the way Bits does. NONE. Perhaps it’s you that needs to watch closer.

  15. NOTIMPRESSED Says:

    The writings on the wall..McLame knows he is in for it in the debates..Since when has he been so consientious that he needs to be in DC for the big decision. Maybe his telepromter is broken…God, the man can’t give any kind of a speech without CONSTANTLY looking at his bloody telepromter. Just watch him…if he ever gets behind the podium again.

  16. Random Musings Says:

    Rainlillie..they haven’t had time enough to program Palin so they can’t let her debate Biden on Friday!

    I agree with Whoopi… everyone should just stick to the real, true issues of the campaign. Enough with the gosip and innuendo.

  17. Julianne Says:

    Amen, Dana!

  18. Missy Says:

    If Obama had pulled this move, the hammity parrot would have implied that perhaps he was unprepared and not capable of leading this country. But, since it is the ol man, she makes it into a hero moment. The hypocrisy this dumb ass child displays is mind boggling. She is so transparent. I agree wholeheartedly with Dana. I don’t mind her opinions, no matter how insane they may be. She just needs to learn how to make her point without being rude and condescending. She lacks professionalism, and maturity. I don’t see how Whoopi controls herself around this annoying bitch.
