Hasselbeck is the reason I don’t tend to watch The View anymore. SO it has been nice to check your site to see what’s up. I love Joy & Whoopi so much, and have such respect for Barbara. I gotta say, I’m proud of Elisabeth and how she had to say about our country’s victory today — both on-air and especially with her kid. I expected much less of her, so kudos.

I am so impressed with EH! What a beautiful and intelligent thing to say regarding Barack Obama winning the election. That is why I love Elisabeth!

I was not impressed with Elisabeth’s performance this morning. Yes, her speech was beautiful, full of praise, cooperation, etc, but I hardly believe any of her words. Elisabeth wants to keep in the public eye, one way or another. The View is a good place to be until something different comes along. I really am curious as to what Elisabeth really wanted to say if Barbara was not at the table today.

I believe that while EH has different political views than the others on the panel, I didn’t expect anything less than the eloquent comments she said here today. EH, despite the hateful comments from bloggers on this site, is a class act. Thank goodness there was a different perspective expressed on this show.
Now as Obama stated in his speech last night, American’s need to come together for the greater good.

It was disappointing that EH did not stay loyal to her belief and represent many Americans that voted Republican. It is not a matter of being a sore winner (like Joy per Barbara) or a sore loser. EH should have responded that she was proud of the level of participation in the election and the diversity of voters including the younger generation, but to abandon her voice that served for many was such a letdown. Now they all pump fists????

Yes, Elisabeth is eloquent. An eloquent phony. She must have taken a tranquilizer.
She will rear her ugly head again..can’t
change the stripes on a tiger.
Going forward..let’s hope for a better,
renewed America.

I had mixd feeling of Elisabeth at first… I am impressed with what she had to say… I appreciate her respect for President Obama… I am glad that although she was on the opposite team she was able to jump on the line with the rest of us and take her loss with her head high… I just the wish the rest of the McCain supporters would do just that…

Elisabeth I really enjoy watching The View and you ladies. You do such a wonderful job. I was very happy this morning with your and Whoopi’s short comment about the adoption thing and how there are “Good People” that want to adopt, but are denied because they are considered “Bad People” for some reason. This would be a great topic as my family is going thru this at the moment over our Grand Daughters because of something that took place in our past. We are now being condemned for it. We had our beautiful babies for the past 10 months and all of a sudden Bethany Christian changed their minds and took the girls away to adopt them to a stranger.

I think Meaghan Kelly should be Elisabeth’s replacement.

While she apparently came off well, I have a hard time trusting what she said. I didn’t watch The View, but it sounds like maybe EH is throwing McCain under the bus the way she did with Bush. I find it surprising if that is what she is doing.
While what she said was apparently gracious, it’s hard to take her seriously when it is so at odds with her comments of last year. There are ways to be gracious without being contradictory.
Or maybe I just won’t give EH a break (which she earned through her own hard work). I’ll listen (probably not yet watch) and if she shows some consistency with her new found view I’ll reconsider. Everyone deserves the opportunity to change. But I don’t buy it after one episode.

Yep, i just watched the last clip, which I hadn’t seen this morning. EH was just hiding her true emotions. This woman is as fake as her hair.

Perhaps EH should watch ‘The View’ clips with Grace. And answer as “Grace with Big Cheeks” asks mommy why did you say that, are you mad at Auntie Joy, Auntie Whoopi, and Auntie Sherri — where is Godmother Bawbawa, is Obama a bad man.
It could be good free theapry for EH — don’t know how many more years of theapry it would add to poor little “Grace with Big Cheeks”

I agree with Joy when she said the 1st Black family had to be perfect.

I am a McCain supporter, and I felt very much the same way Elisabeth felt. The election is an American process, the majority has spoken, people danced in the streets…..isn’t it awesome?

I am so angry with Elizabeth! How could she have such STRONG views during the ENTIRE presidential race(which she is entitled to) about Obama and have such a turn around when he was elected. I believe it was fake and a disgrace. What changed her mind overnight that wasn’t convincing her during the campaign race? I would like to see her removed from the show. If this would have been Rosie or Star, it would not have been tolerated.

While watching the view and listening to EH on how she supported BO I kept saying to my self what a BIG PHONY YOU ARE. Does she think that we are all idiots to believe all the nice things that she said about him. Day after day for months she had no respect for him but now that her team lost she does. I don’t buy it. She is just doing what MCCain did when he made his speech. I can’t forget all the the hateful things that she said and I wouldn’t accept her apology because I know that it wouldn’t be sincere. I did like what Whoppie said about now she can put her suitcase down. EH probably doesn’t have a clue on what she met by that. My opinion of EH is that she is a snobby biget and wish that she would leave for greener pastures. I used to enjoy the view with their hot topics but I’m finding it harder and harder to watch the show.

What EH said was nice. Do I believe it? I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt right now because I’m full of hope but part of me is saying wait and see what her actions are down the road. She may just be trying to save her own butt.
November 6th, 2008 at 9:48 am
I was always taught to keep your enemies close. EH isn’t my enemy per say but she doesn’t have the same perspective on life as I in this instance. But hearing others take on things helps me stay honest with my views. Not listening to the other person’s side of things to me is like being blind in one eye. So let her speak as long as she gives those around her a chance to speak as well, rather in defense or opinion.
November 6th, 2008 at 10:13 am
right on Jane!!
That is exactly the reason that I watch Faux News every day. If you dont know what they are saying, how can you defend yourself?
November 6th, 2008 at 10:16 am
I for one don’t beleive that EH had that conversation with her daughter or that Grace asked who lost, but simply made it up so that she could bow out gracefully so to speak.
November 6th, 2008 at 11:14 am
I still am not particularly fond Elizabeth, I think that she’s being cooperative because the Republicans lost. And it was completely clear that the country wanted Barack Obama. So, it would have been poor taste of her to start her assault on his politics when the country has decided that he’s going to be President. I think that, despite what Elizabeth might think, she has a lot to learn about the Revolutions and Movements that gone on in this country. And would do herself a disservice not to listen to the information that Barbara, Whoopi and Joy have to offer her.

OK, Guys. Re: EH syrupy-sweet turnaround remarks about President-Elect Obama. I have three words: FAKE, FAKE, FAKE. I don’t believe for one milli-second that she is sincere, or that she could have done such a complete flip-flop overnight. She was like a raging pit-bull during the campaign, and I do not believe that that rage is suddenly all gone. She’s just waiting for the first opportunity to criticize his first move as president. I wish someone from McCain’s camp would hire her to fly up to Alaska to grab that hundred-thousand dollar wardrobe their attorneys are still trying to snatch out of Palin’s grubby hands, so they can live up to their promise to “donate the clothes to charity”.
