The View July 30th: Katie Couric and David Hyde Pierce

by

Today’s recap of The View will be late. I may get to watch it this evening, but if not, I will post some videos if they are available. Unfortunately my favorite place to get video clips of The View, Red Lasso, has suspended their service due to legal action by some of the networks. You can read about it here.

Today’s scheduled guests:

Katie Couric to discuss the “Stand Up to Cancer” special.

David Hyde Pierce to talk about the PBS show “The Future of Alzheimer’s.”

“Red Lasso, has suspended their service due to legal action by some of the networks.”

    Oh bummer! :-(

  2. SH Says:

The View is SO much better when Barbara is absent.
And I’m so sick of hearing about her book!

  3. Copper Says:

Kudos to the studio audience for not putting up with EH’s spin on Obama’s prayer. When Joy said both candidates have a gaffe list and McCain’s is worse, especially since most of his are about policies, the audience cheered loudly. Nothing equivocal about that reaction. I’m sure EH felt it best not to keep harping.

Thanks, studio audience, for the reassurance that her shtick ain’t “shticking,” heh!

  4. Lopez Says:

    Copper or anyone,

I didn’t get the chance to watch the show. Can you elaborate on what EH said?

  5. Lopez Says:

Okay, I found out on twop. Usual EH stuff. Whatever.

  6. Stacee Says:

    Also found on TwoP:

    I watched today’s show.
Nothing really stands out in my memory to comment on, except:

I loved the PSA for Stand Up To Cancer.

  8. Keri Says:

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a picture of Elisabeth from today’s show (July 30th). I need a pic to show my hairdresser for my wedding on Sunday because it’s EXACTLY what I want my hair to look like!

  9. Sharon Says:

I went to twop can’t find the view.

  10. berndoubt Says:

Go to TWoP and look up talk shows first, then you’ll find The View.

  11. Lopez Says:

    Sharon, here you go: http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=1966746&st=57120

  12. Sapphire Says:

Whoopi’s comment about “having a prayer” was very funny and I thought to myself it is probably that Elisabeth will not be returning after the vacation.

Then, I said a little prayer to St. Jude, the saint of the “impossible” that Elisabeth and Sherri would be fired and/or their contracts not renewed!

  13. Kado Says:

Did anyone see a report tonight about a feud brewing on the view? I think I saw the report on Entertainment Tonight (ET) but I checked online and I couldn’t find the report anywhere. The report stated something along the lines that Whoopie and EH are fed up with Sherri’s unprofessional behavior on the show and that she’s often the least prepared for the show. I don’t know how much truth there is to this story. I’d be interested to read more but I haven’t been able to find anything anywhere.

  14. Sandy Woodward Says:

Yes Kado saw this snippet earlier today.

One of those staff member rumors.

  15. Shelby Says:

That can’t possibly be true, because “THEY LOVE EACH OTHER”….ha ha ha.

  16. Doug Robertson Says:

At least for now, at the View’s abc.com/theview website they have pretty much the whole hot topics part with EH and the gaffe thing. Didn’t amount to much, she’s become pretty much irrelevant anyway. Shut up already. And I agree about sick of hearing about Barbara’s book, and funny how she brought it up about shoving it into a crack given the opportunity. I’ll tell her which crack to shove it in. Katie was fantastic, though, I thought. The only real justification for watching today at all.

  17. Sharon Says:

    berndoubt, Lopez, thank you!

  18. Stacee Says:

    HILARIOUS! :-D

  19. Dana Says:

How can Sherri be the least prepared? The entire show is scripted by the producers.
