39 days on Survivor does not give Elizabeth Hasselback any credibility. IF she respects the others views it doesn’t show, she consistantly talks over them gets angry and is sarcastic with them. Unfortunatly I am going to have to turn The View off. And I’m certian Elizabeth Hasselback would say something sarcastic to that as well. Ms Walters needs to hire someone with some maturity and respect for others.

  2. Ues Beyotch Says:

I am glad EH pointed out the fault of Justin Timberlake in the whole Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction debacle. I found it very disturbing for young children to be seeing a man rip off a woman’s clothes. On top of this Justin Timberlake escaped any blame whatsoever! thanks I feel better now :)

  3. Stephanie Says:

EH is despicable. She has sat at that table for 5 years and defended every single decision that Bush has made. And now that he’s practically out of office, she says “he’s sat on his butt” and done nothing for the environment for 8 years. Oh really? And you didnt think to mention that before? Instead she criticized people like Al Gore who were actually trying to make a positive change. Its obvious she will change her views to fit whoever is the republican nominee. She is sooo disingenuous!!

Its also interesting that today when Sherri pointed out how people were not voting for Obama, ONLY because he is black, EH said ‘oh it has to do with politics and not race’. And yet just a few weeks ago she said people were voting for Obama simply b/c he was black. I guess she changes her logic when its convenient for her.

Its scary when people blindly support those in office and dont question their decisions. EH is the type of person who will say whatever benefits her candidate at that moment and people like her are the reason things are so screwed up right now.

  4. Lajet Says:

I’ve said it before, but today it’s probably official. I caught about 5 mintues of the view - when they were talking about the election. Caught the part where she distinguished McCain from Bush - and Joy (go Joy!!!) finally called her on it and said that she used to defend Bush on that (or something close to that) and EH denied it. Missed the part where she excused not voting for Obama because he was black as politics - oh well. She was jumping on the end of people’s sentences to diss them and state her whatever (not sure they count for thoughts) “Discussing” with Elizabeth is like arguing in Wonderland. Black may mean white because words mean what you want them to mean, and you can rewrite history. It’s just not fun to engage in a conversation, or watch a conversation, where people change history.

LOVED the back-handed compliment about how RARE it is for anyone to clap for Elizabeth!!! Rosie was soooooooo smart to leave. I can’t imagine what would be going on if Star was still there, but I would love to see Star take on EH. (I was really fed up with Star by the time she left although I LOVED her when she first joined), but I suspect she has learned some things, matured, and I’d love to see Star smack down EH. I also really like the new haircut she has! Much better than the librarian look.

  5. May Says:

When I saw Winnie’s blog that EH (and hubster) just bought a 3.5 million dollar apt/condo I said shoot (or a similar word-shorter)guess that means that the lovely pair will be staying in NY stead of leaving for Ariz again this summer. Also guess that the @%*** will be staying on at “The View” forevermore. Goodbye to Joy,Whoopi,Sherri..I enjoyed watching YOU three.

  6. Sandy Says:

I did get to see most of the show today, and I really enjoyed it.

  7. Lajet Says:

PRIOR POST: I did get to see most of the show today, and I really enjoyed it.

RESPOSNE: What did you enjoy? Did you think history was being rewritten? Or do you think we are misquoting EH? Or do you not care because it’s not that important and doesn’t hurt your enjoyment of others? Or did you enjoy other parts of the show and just didn’t care so much about the political discussion. I’m just curious what others.

  8. Sarah Says:

“Caught the part where she distinguished McCain from Bush - and Joy (go Joy!!!) finally called her on it and said that she used to defend Bush on that (or something close to that) and EH denied it.”

Oh how I wish someone who worked on the View would pull up those clips of EH from before and prove that she is lying. Kind of makes me wish I had recorded earlier episodes so I could send a copy to Elisabeth with a little note attached that says, “Liar.”

  9. MiamiVision Says:

Sarah said: “Oh how I wish someone who worked on the View would pull up those clips of EH from before and prove that she is lying. Kind of makes me wish I had recorded earlier episodes so I could send a copy to Elisabeth with a little note attached that says, “Liar.”

Oh, but YOU CAN pull them up, Sarah, write down the websites of the exact youtube clips that you dig up and send them to EH at their new condo address (you don’t NEED to know apartment # as there are only 73 units in this building property), Ariel East or Ariel West, whichever one she said it was (think it was east) and their address is, of course, public record:

    Ariel East 2628 Broadway
    New York, NY

Ariel West 245 West 99th Street
    New York, NY 10025

Both of them are by 99th Street and Central Park West.

*chucklin @ the thought of Sarah actually carrying this out…..yeah, in my dreams!! LOL*

funny thought though! thanks for the laugh!

  10. Rosemary Cooley Says:

I love to watch the View when Elizabeth H. isn’t on the show. She is so sarcastic and thinks her view about things is always right.
I think it is ok to disagree with each other because it makes the show interesting but with Elizabeth she just makes me turn the channel. I don’t know when I have disliked a person as much as Elizabeth H. The other people on the show disagree with each other but don’t get mad and sarcastic with each other. Please take her off the show because I only watch when she is not on.
    Thank you.
    Rosemary Cooley

  11. Valerie Says:

It seems as though I am with the majority of people on this site. I love watching The View, but I am very tired of EH and her hypocrisy. I am finding more and more that I am so enraged by the end of the “hot topics” that I can’t enjoy the rest of the show. I love a good educated political debate as much as the next person. However, I can’t understand why in the world Barbara and/or ABC can’t find a Right-wing, young, Christian - Republican who has some sense and intelligence! I completely believe that there is a niche on the show for someone with her point of view, but for the love of Pete, can it be someone who can articulate an intelligent argument!! CNN is loaded with them, maybe Amy Holmes is looking for a full-time gig.

Lastly, the ousted Starr Jones when her ratings reached an all time low and the viewers were sick of her (so they said) does the same rule apply to Elizabeth??

  12. Doreen Says:

I’m a Canadian interested in your US Political race and as faithful a View watcher as I can be. For all the Obama/Clinton supporters I would suggest you encourage the View to keep Elizabeth on till your presidential election is over. As a viewer your Democratic Party would be a shoe in after listening to Elizabeth’s ratings!
Just to nitpik- did anyone else notice EH was the only guest who didn’t have the courtesy to try even a taste of Tony Danza’s Italian dishes today! Do you have allergies Elizabeth or a weight complex. Thank goodness for Joy, Sherri, and Whoppi.

  13. Aileeny Says:

Stephanie: “Its also interesting that today when Sherri pointed out how people were not voting for Obama, ONLY because he is black, EH said ‘oh it has to do with politics and not race’. And yet just a few weeks ago she said people were voting for Obama simply b/c he was black. I guess she changes her logic when its convenient for her.”

Very interesting… EH seems to be flip flopping on this race subject dependant on the matter at hand. I remember whoops and Sherry telling her that she cant identify with the race issue cause she has her white goggles on.. (something like that) I so agree, I can sympathize, intelluctuaize, mirrorize, superifize, coolifize etc.. but I will never be black and identifize with the issue. Its my aim to diffuze others with hate or confusion, but I cant neccesarily speak for. So to say that peeps dont vote for race or gender based on history issues.. is quite ignorant or just refuses to accept America as it is or was. Peeps want a change and see peeps like them in office is all. Its about time. Black or woman.

    I’m just saying…

  14. Sandy Says:

    # 7 Lajet,
I usually enjoy watching the show, when I get a chance to see it. That is usually 2 times a week, some times maybe three. I enjoy the hot topics, and usually most of the guest.
I like all of the host, although I tend to favor Sherri and Joy, mainly because I like their humor. I tend to look at the show more as entertainment rather than fact.
As for today, I’m not sure exactly to what history some feel was rewritten. I did miss about 10 min. of the hot topics. So I’m not sure if I can answer your question about that. I assume it was something Elisabeth said, as you ask if I thought you were misquoting Elisabeth. I’m gathering from the comments, something about the environment, and president Bush mot doing anything about it for the last eight years? (I did not see this part of the hot topics)
And “No” , I’m sure you are “not” misquoting Elisabeth. I feel that she probably did defend president Bush on that before.
Is this the history being rewritten you are referring to?

I guess I have to say that most of the political discussions, ?? I don’t really take any of them as fact. Just opinions. I find I agree with different host, on different political topics, some times Elisabeth, some times Joy, some times Whoopi.
Actually I like the difference of opinions. I like hearing both sides.
I know some get irritated with Elisabeth. It is not that I don’t understand why. She just doesn’t seem to irritate me that much.
Probably is because I enjoy the others, and she doesn’t detract from that.

Also today I did enjoy the guest,

  15. Kathleen Says:

I am fed up to the teeth with watching EH. She is beyond irritating with the same….same…same irrational reasoning. She’s just chirping up constantly and I can’t hear what Joy or Sherri are saying. If hers is the only VIEW we are going to hear then it is time to stop watching. She is trying to be humorous with 3 professional and established comedians and she has no humor at all. I don’t understand the purpose and rationale for her to be on there. She does not have anything to offer.

  16. Lisa Says:

#9. Seems irresponsible to give out EH’s address. There are a lot of crazy people out there and she has small children. I can’t stand EH, however it doesn’t seem right to give out that information.

  17. Lajet Says:

Sandy - That makes sense. Sometimes it’s easy to read the threads with the reader’s perspective on the day’s show, or in light of the preceding post, and sometimes things don’t flow that neatly. I can understand how you enjoy it, and admire you ability to let EH not get to you. As she would say, “just flic the flac.” I favor Sherri first, by A LOT, and then Joy too.

PRIOR POST: I tend to look at the show more as entertainment rather than fact.
    RESPONSE: LOL. Good move!

PRIOR RESPOSNE: As for today, I’m not sure exactly to what history some feel was rewritten.
RESPOSNE: Not sure I can remember htem all, in fact I’ve heard of some that must have occurred after I got fed up and turned off the TV. As best I can remember quickly:
    1. She never was concerned that people would vote for Obama because he is black - she was only reporting the concerns of others.
    2. She never supported Bush on the envirnment.
    3. I can’t remember the instance right away, but I remember her rewriting history on another show within the past couple of weeks.
    a. The time she called Joy a liar about somethign she said about McCain, and Joy was accurate. I think it was about McCain not knowing much about the economy - Joy quoting (well, summarizing) McCain himself!
    4. There were also several statements of hypocrisy, which irritated me but probably don’t count for rewriting hypocrisy.
    5. You can’t separate Character and policy - this is either hypocrisy (failure to acknowledge McCain’s character flaws) or rewriting history (denying McCain has character flaws)
    6. And all the times recently she denies jumping in on top of someone, or not letting them finihs, and then calls them on it when they cut her off because they can’t find a period.
    7. I think I’m wandering into today’s arrogant hypocrisy (some people can actually be funny when hypocritical, but EH appears arrogant to me when she does it) which irritated me, but isn’t answer your question about rewriting history.

PRIOR POST: something about the environment,
RESPONES: I think she praised McCain for his environmental stand - forgetting that she trashed Gore for hte same thing.

PRIOR POST: I find I agree with different host, on different political topics, some times Elisabeth, some times Joy, some times Whoopi.
RESPONSE: I doo too. I frequently disagree with Whoopi, not infreuntly Joy. And somtiems I even agree (publicly) with EH (gag me with a spoon.)

PRIOR POST: Actually I like the difference of opinions. I like hearing both sides.
RESPOSNE: I do too. I actually love wathcing Dan Abrams, although he is much more conservative than I am. But he is thoughtful, and logical. I like haring both sides, but I don’t like hearing drivel, and I don’t like hearing talking points, and I don’t like listening to someone who changes the facts as it suits her.

PRIOR POST: She just doesn’t seem to irritate me that much.
RESPONSE: You are blessed. I bet you have a wonderfully calming presence. I need to learn to do that better.

  18. Nancy Says:

I agree with Kathleen on what she has
written about EH. I have really stopped
watching the view when EH is there. I am
a older woman and I have to stop watching.
I have never seen such a waste of time to make myself sick. I used to enjoy the show
when Star was on, as she made sense. Did not
    have to lie.

  19. Jon Says:

I really enjoyed the show today! I thought it was great conversations. There is nothing wrong with EH expressing what she thinks. I totally disagree with most of what JOy says but she is entitled to her opinion. People say that EH goes back and forth… well so does JOy but that is fine. we can have different views on different days. You all need to leave EH alone. “My View” is that she does a great job and brings a great light to the show.

  20. Vegas Says:

No mention of Tony and Marc Danzas food segment? I think his cookbook looks fantastic, Tony seems like such a good cook, you can tell he cooks with love, I don’t miss his talk show, but his cookbook is definitely something I am going to buy. As usual, Sherri was disgusting, when is someone going to tell her that it is extremely unbecoming of her to sit on the floor and shovel food in her mouth? The picking with her fingers without plating it, the orgasmic eyerolls no matter what she tastes, the talking with her mouth full, and then to top it off, she asks if she can ‘eat the leaf’ and Elisabeth had to tell her it was basil. @@ How does she not know that? And as if there would be something non edible on that pizza! Please keep Sherri away from the food or someone teach her some manners around it!!

  21. ShannonP Says:

Vegas, I didn’t watch the clips of the show yesterday, couldn’t find any to watch…but from what I’ve seen of Sherri around food before I can imagine how it went and I have to agree with you on that she needs some manners and to tone it down. It’s one thing to show you enjoy food, but she takes it to an extreme and maybe it’s for humor’s sake, but I end up just thinking she looks silly.

  22. Dana Says:

I know some people agree with EH’s political points of view and thats fine, I will vote democrate this year so that we don’t have 4 more years of Bush, but I don’t dislike John McCain, I think he is more respectable than most of the republicans but he’s far from perfect. EH just doesn’t know how to have a conversation or an intelligent articulate debate. She shouts and shoves her opinion down everyones throat. It’s more the way she presents her message than her message. She definitely hasn’t honed her talk show host skills in the five years she’s been on the show. If anything she’s gotten worse. I’m sure the show could find someone better qualified to fill her shoes if they were interested in doing a quality show.

  23. Lajet Says:

PRIOR POST: There is nothing wrong with EH expressing what she thinks.

RESPONSE: okay, just what does EH think? Does she think Bush was a great President who never made a significant mistake? Or does she think he messed up and McCain should distance himself from Bush?
Does she think adultery makes you unfit to be a President and/or parent? Or does she think it doesn’t disqualify you?
Does she think the environment is an important issue? or does she think it isn’t an important issue?
And I guess I really don’t care if she think McCain cares about the economy, because it’s such a stupid statement that it stops the conversation.
Does she think Rosie thinks our troops are terrorists? or not? (it really was a simple question)
Does she think character matters? or does she think it’s okay to say one thing one time and something else another time?
Does she think some people vote for Obama because he is black, but no one votes against Obama because he’s black? Or does she think politics trumps color in people deciding to vote?
Does she think Wright is running for the presisdency in some manner, but Bush and Hagee aren’t?

I agree EH can express her opinions. I jsut wish she’d give us her opinions, be consistent, and not speak in talking points.

  24. Sarah Says:

Lajet: I agree. Not only does EH flip-flop on her opinions, but she also keeps telling those long, rambling stories that don’t seem to have a point. I remember a few years ago when they were discussing Al Gore she started rambling and ended up talking about fast food. I just kept waiting for her to make a point, but nope, it never happened. She just keeps circling the airport and never quite comes in for a landing.

  25. ShannonP Says:

Do you guys know if anyone on the show has brought up McCain calling his wife a c*nt yet?
I heard about that, but I haven’t looked into it yet.

  26. MiamiVision Says:

#16 I gave out the building address gleaned from Ariel’s own website - public knowledge, public record

    http://www.arielcondos.com/

  27. mibi Says:

i just watchi the video of the show and came to the relization the Eh really belives what she is saying. in her world the white folk who will not vote for obama becuase he is black and will vote for mccain are doing becuase they like mcain and not hate obmama. and the west virigina are concerned about rev wright and not other issues. so i am no longer baffled by her because she has made this all make since in her mind and belives it

  28. Dani Says:

I think Whoopi, and Joy are getting fed up with EH, and the time is nearing that one of them, if not both will tell her to stop lying once and for all. She is a US citizen that scares me to death, because she will follow blindly. No matter what- the truth hurts alot of people so much that they absolutely refuse to face it.

  29. ShannonP Says:

I just watched the video of when Tony Danza and his son were on with the food and I thought Whoopi and Sherri looked ridiculous, seriously ridiculous. Whoopi looked like she was trying way too hard to be cool and “chill” (maybe that meat on the table wasn’t the only she found appetizing) and Sherri behaved like a pig. I like Sherri, but that was embarassing. As for those that commented on EH not eating anything, maybe she’s on the popular 900 calorie Hollywood diet or maybe she just doesn’t like food that is sitting out where all can touch.

  30. Beverly Says:

Hi All - I’m by no means a fan of EH, however, she probably avoided the food due to her Celiac disease. (Hypersensitivity to gluten)

  31. Aileeny Says:

OMG Lajet.. u dive into all the rhetoric and analyze.. ok note to self.. be sure ur accurate and spot on!! :-)

  32. Dana Says:

She still could have picked up a vegetable from the antipasto salad. Come on, she’s so damn up tight.

  33. Doreen Says:

Thanks Beverly, I didn’t realize EH had celiac’s which could explain alot.

  34. Tina Says:

“Lastly, they ousted Starr Jones when her ratings reached an all time low and the viewers were sick of her (so they said) does the same rule apply to Elizabeth??”

AMEN!! I’ve been wondering if anyone else was thinking this too.

  35. Kathleen Says:

I think it is time for EH to go or else I think the some of the other hosts will leave.
She just isn’t worth listening to. Babies, boobs, unkempt dark roots and talking points aren’t enough to sustain my attention.

I think the BW book has suffered OVER KILL. I just don’t care to hear any more. Even her affairs sounded boring. Who cares? She has gotten dottering when she talks.

Sherri did look awful chowing down as she does at other times when there have been food segments. EH may have celiac but by not trying something she comes across as rude, anorexic and a skinny b—-.

  36. Stacee Says:

Why don’t they have EH sit out the food segments? Personally, I found her presence in them to be a little distracting. She seems to be uncomfortable around the food too.

  37. Judy Walden Says:

Please have anyone e mail me when you remove Elisabeth from the show!!!! She is an uneducated, opinionated to the ump’d…… degree. Sadly, her young age shouldn’t be a problem, there is so very much information out there if she would just open her undeveloped mind.
Again, love your show, but it is painful to listen to her.
    Go Joy !!!!!!
    Respectfully,
    Judy
