  1. Sunny Says:

i think bits is having twins. why: (i) she was pretty big, pretty early; (ii) when marlee matlin was on she referred to bits having 4; and (iii) most telling: when that strange man from the have-an-affair website was on yesterday, he said he named his website “ashley madison”? after the two most popular names for girls. BW looked at Bits and said “remember that”…

  2. Stacee Says:

    Ahhh. Guess we’ll see. :-D

Have a great weeking with your family, Winnie. Take a little time to enjoy the View! (lol)

  3. marthe Says:

Dolly Parton is one of the few country singers I enjoy.

Okay, Souter is retiring. Should be interesting for Monday. I like the idea of Barack nominating Michelle, cuz that if nothing else would make the bit’s head explode.

Now that Whoops is over her fear of flying, maybe she was in D.C. this week working on her appointment as ambassador to Hungary.

  4. Kelly Says:

PopEater.com: “Trump is booked to appear next Tuesday on Walters’ daytime show ‘The View.’ He will promote a book and the season finale of ‘The Apprentice.’ Trump gets publicity, while Walters lands an attention-getting guest during a vital month to bump up ratings.

The two broke the ice when Trump appeared on Walters’ satellite radio show a few weeks ago.”

    AAHHHHH - sweeps week?

  5. Kelly Says:

TOP TEN VIEW DRAMAS - PopEater.com

    10. Flat Earth Society: When she joined the show, Sherri Shepherd told her co-hosts she wasn’t a political junkie and promised to get up to speed on current events for their daily hot topics discussions. But who could’ve guessed that Shepherd was so, um, geographically challenged? A debate on evolution led to the declaration that she didn’t know if the world was flat or round.

    9. Rosie Rips Ripa, Ripa Rips Rosie: When Rosie O’Donnell accused Kelly Ripa of being homophobic after Ripa dissed Clay Aiken for covering her mouth with his hand, O’Donnell not only offended Ripa, but also implied something about Aiken’s sexuality that he has never publicly confirmed. Ripa got her revenge, though, calling into ‘The View’ and labeling O’Donnell’s accusation “outrageous.”

    8. Babs Makes a Boob of Herself: On a May 2005 show,Barbara Walters dissed a woman who, while on the same airplane as Babs, had publicly nursed her baby. The comment set off a wave of backlash and “lactivism” — 200 women showed up outside ABC studios in New York and very publicly breastfed their infants (good thing Walters hadn’t dissed the woman for changing a dirty diaper.)

    7. The ‘I Do’ Adieu? Before Star Jones’ ill-fated 2004 nuptials, she offended media watchers, her co-stars and good taste by soliciting wedding freebies that she then mentioned on air. The tacky habit reportedly led to her ‘View’ downfall, but not till after she’d wrangled free invites, tuxedos, bridesmaid dresses and other goodies. She now blames the failure of her marriage on “letting the media in” to her relationship.

    6. Whoopi’s in the Doghouse: Controversy didn’t leave the building with O’Donnell’s departure. On Whoopi Goldberg’s first day as moderator, she made comments that many pet lovers took to mean she was defending NFL-er Michael Vick for dogfighting. She clarified that she only meant to put his actions into context, and ended up offending Southerners in the process. Outraged ‘View’ers, meet Whoopi.

    5. Whoopi Hassles the Hasselbeck: A discussion on a proposed Hillary Clinton “baby bond” turned into a tense discussion of abortion between Elisabeth and Goldberg during an Oct. 2007 Hot Topics segment, with Goldberg telling Hasselbeck to “back off” and show reverence for women who had found themselves in the position of considering an abortion.

    4. Elisabeth Can Hassle Back: You have to hand it to Elisabeth — love her or hate her, she gives as good as she gets. Like during a heated discussion with Sandra Bernhard, who’d quipped that Laura Bush was “heavily medicated.” Elisabeth, clearly ticked off, told Bernhard to stop calling her “honey”; the tension led Joy Behar to walk off the set temporarily … and ‘View’ fans to turn up the volume.

    3. Star’s War: Star Jones made a surprise announcement on the June 27, 2006, episode: She was leaving. Also a surprise to Babs and her co-stars: An interview Jones gave right before the show, in which she said she’d actually been fired. That kicked off a war of words that played out in the media, and the June 27 show was Jones’ last.

    2. The Donald Vs. O’Donnell: There was no winner in the insult war between O’Donnell and Donald Trump, especially not viewers, who were treated to an ongoing brouhaha that only served to show how many ways Rosie could mock Trump’s wealth and comb over, and how many synonyms for the words “fat” and “loser” he could mine from his thesaurus.

    1. A Bad Split: As if this meltdown of all meltdowns wasn’t contentious enough, with calling Hasselbeck a “coward” and Elisabeth replying that Rosie was responsible for defending herself, the final straw that allegedly galled O’Donnell so much that she decided she couldn’t continue on the show was the director’s decision to air the imbroglio on a split screen.

CLINK to see EH’s 25 Most Annoying Moments 08

    (only 25? )

  6. Kelly Says:

    Seriously - this is good.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s 25 MOST Annoying Moments 2008 - with commentary

**CLINK** sisters - clink and enjoy the show

  7. Mary Evans Says:

    Thanks Kelly! Just WOW.

Truer words were never spoken by BW then when she told EH to “take a breath, and let someoneelse speak.” LOL

  8. Diane from N.J. Says:

Thanks for posting this Hasselbeck montage, Kelly.

You know, its almost unbearable to watch. The assuredness and authority with which she speaks, coupled with her childish displays of emotion is a consistent theme. At 30 years old, there she sits across the table from very adult, accomplished women who have been there, done that:

An Academy Award winner, 4 women who have experienced all the ’seasons’ of womanhood - child rearing, divorce, menopause, abortions, children with special needs, financially struggling, African American, fired, hired, poor, rich, Masters Degree, affairs, interviewed legendary figures, heads of state, well traveled, spearheaded charitable causes, broken new ground in their careers, ….yet she is so sure she is correct. That is why she always stares at the table when making her points - she is grasping for gravitas - believability - wisdom - respect. When she has earned any.

Of all of Hasselebecks’ worst moments on The View - I think one the one that illustrates the above the most, for me, is her going toe - toe with Whoopi Goldberg last fall regarding Reverand Wright.

There she sat with two Black women, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepard, shrieking and insisting that she understood the Black church experience and their role in the Black communities - day after day after day.

She was so sure. She was so correct.

She is nothing more than a spoiled brat who has it all easy and given to her. The View gig is another in her easy road of life.

  9. ds Says:

#1 Sunny, Could this mean she would be taking double the time off for maternity leave? Let’s hope so.

  10. Diane from N.J. Says:

    Correction to my # 8:

When she has NOT earned any.

  11. Kelly Says:

Thank God Obama has a gift – otherwise we’d all be digging our own graves with our Red Elephant Creations’ shovels…

  12. Pepperbird Says:

Bitsy and her husband keep their money separate and they discuss their spending? I thought she was the breadwinner in the family. If they discuss money, it must be whether she approves of what he does with his “allowance”.

  13. Roger from Ohio Says:

an over protective mother is bad for a child. If you teach your child to be afraid, they will grow up afraid.

  14. ShannonP Says:

“Bitsy and her husband keep their money separate and they discuss their spending? I thought she was the breadwinner in the family. If they discuss money, it must be whether she approves of what he does with his “allowance”.”

If I could work a couple hours a day and have enough money to provide for my family, I would love it if my husband didn’t work. It would be our money, not “my” money. He could take care of the house and the kids while I was working and then we’d have all that time together when I was off. I wouldn’t want him to work just so he satisfied some expectation on what a man is supposed to do. He’d be working around the house, I’d be working outside the house…all contributions to the whole picture of us. I’m just talking (dreaming!) about myself, not anything to do with Elisabeth and whatever they have going on there. I think people assume things about them and a lot of assumptions made here have proven to be wrong (like about Sherri’s reason for being off yesterday).

  15. Roger from Ohio Says:

I hope Dolly Parton looks good today……

When she was on Larry King last week, she looked like a painted puppet. It was sad.

  16. Roger from Ohio Says:

    #14 ShannonP–

“Bitsy and her husband keep their money separate and they discuss their spending?

I took something else away from Elisabeth’s comments.
When Joy said discussing a purchase would be him saying thats too expensive, go buy a cheaper lamp…. Elisabeth said she would get the cheaper lamp.

How is that a discussion? This isnt the first time that she has made a comment that she is a submissive wife….. personally, I think that is a bad roll for a woman.

  17. Roger from Ohio Says:

Dolly looks good today, a much softer look.

I have always been a fan…. even saw her in concert once.

  18. ds Says:

The View, along with ABC, disregarded the collective intelligence of its audience when it chose to replace lovely, smart and classy young journalist Lisa Ling with a twit whose only “credential” was having competed on a cheesy reality show. It is unfortunate as well as an insult to viewers that they felt it necessary to take the show in a “dumb down” direction.

  19. Roger from Ohio Says:

Its a good thing that Sherri isnt on today….. she would start a boob contest with Dolly

It would have been a completely different “interview”

  20. Kelly Says:

    I hope I look as good as Dolly when I’m 63 - shoot - when I’m 43. She’s what stars should be -

  21. ShannonP Says:

    “#14 ShannonP–

“Bitsy and her husband keep their money separate and they discuss their spending?

I took something else away from Elisabeth’s comments.”

I haven’t watched the show or even know what the conversation was…I was just dreaming about how it would be if I could only work a couple hours a day and provide for my family.
I’ll watch that clip later and come back and say what I think about it.
But submissive wifes irk the heck out of me and really get under my skin so I’ll see if I get that vibe from her.

  22. Diane from N.J. Says:

Poor Elizabeth, how she yearns for the 1950’s and being a June Cleaver wife: Pearls, aprons, dresses & heels while vacuuming, cake in the oven, church on Sunday, flags, Cub Scouts, PTA, split level in Connecticut with picket fence, Eisenhower in the White House, a nice war to get excited about….” Oh Ward, I mean Timmy,… I think there’s something wrong with the Beaver. “

  23. Hallie Says:

    # 12 - I thought EH said their money went together in one pot - no separate accounts. Guess I’ll have to watch the replay on Yakety Yak. (Whereas Joy and Steve keep theirs separate, along with Whoopi and her significant others.)
Didn’t BW keep mixing up show vs. movie in the Dolly interview?

  24. Stacee Says:

OMG did you all hear? Las Vegas performer Danny Ganz has passed away.

  25. Kelly Says:

Excellent Eye Popping Post #8 - Well said Diane.

    Bitsy’s ‘suicider’ president: CLINK

Apparently, we attacked Iraq over their “resentment” and their “lack of hope.”

  26. Kelly Says:

    Don’t know who Danny is….

  27. Stacee Says:

Oops spelled his name wrong…it’s GANS
He was a performer in Las Vegas. He appeared on the View when they were in Vegas, June 24.

    I bumped the recap.

  28. NOTIMPRESSED Says:

    Bonnie Hunt was great!!!

    RESPONSE:
You are correct. I have it on DVR.

  30. berndoubt Says:

CNN has a survey about how people who attend church being more willing to back torture. I’ll try to put the link again, but you’ll have to add three “w”s and “c” “n” “n” and the dots and the com ahead of the following:

  31. southernexplosion Says:

Danny Gans died early this morning, after a family member called 911 to say Danny was having trouble breathing. By the time paramedics arrived, he was dead.

A ticket rep at Steve Wynn’s Encore hotel tells us they just got the call and the entire staff is “shocked and upset.”

Gans is a legend in Las Vegas — the self described “musical impressionist” signed a $150 million contract in 2000.

We’re told Gans died at 3:00 AM at his home in Vegas. There are reports his wife discovered his body and called for help.

Gans was named “Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year” a record 11-times in a row. He did not perform last night.

Besides being a gifted entertainer, Gans was a pretty good athlete — in fact, he was drafted by the KC Royals out of high school and played minor league ball.

UPDATE: TMZ has learned a 911 call was made by a family member at 3:44 AM for a 52-year-old man who was “having trouble breathing.” By the time medics arrived, Gans had already passed away.

UPDATE: TMZ received the following statement from The Mirage, where Gans performed for years: “All of us in The Mirage family are deeply saddened to learn of Danny’s passing. We all knew of his devotion to his family and our hearts and prayers are with his wife and children.”

  32. Hallie Says:

Read on another board that the Enquirer (hey, they did call the John Edwards affair right) is saying that Miss CA - C. Prejean- is being considered as a replacement for EH. If true, do you think it’s with Geddie’s blessings or not? He does seem to go for the pretty young things, vapid or not.

  33. Roger from Ohio Says:

    #32 Hallie–

if true, do you think it’s with Geddie’s blessings or not? He does seem to go for the pretty young things, vapid or not.

She is a “good christian” with a boob job….. right wing nutcase in training….

    why would Geddie object?

  34. Roger from Ohio Says:

I hope you dont mind that this is off topic…..

I just heard on MSNBC that a plane here in the US (didnt catch where) had to land early…. because someone on board sneezed.

Yep… thats right…. the government and press has done such a good job over reacting and causing fear that now they have to land planes because of sneezes.

  35. May Says:

Gosh whoop de do, Hallie, I do so hope you are right about the Enquirer’s remark that EH is being replaced! By who, whom, what, which, whoever, I do not care as long as it is SOMEONE ELSE!!!
Last nite I saw a clip of Anderson Cooper interviewing the ladies of “The View minus Whoopie. Because they were on “people mag” list of most influencial (sp) people. Barbara and Joy did all the talking with BW saying that they had 3 comedians on and Joy said “but we do need Eliz”. EH and Sherri didn’t talk but this was only a clip I saw.

  36. Pepperbird Says:

#34 Rog The passenger claimed to have “flu symptoms” and was evacuated by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after the flight was diverted there. I wonder if the airline paid for the ambulance too?

All those other passengers were inconvenienced and delayed–and possibly missed their connecting flights and people meeting them at their destinations…because someone claimed to have flu symptoms (not even proven to be piggy flu).

I wonder if the airline was afraid of getting sued if they didn’t stop and send her to a hospital? She had embarked from Germany not Mexico, and was en route to Washington DC. Seems to me that the airline went too far. Will other airlines now divert their planes and rush sneezing passengers to hospitals?

  37. Elsie Says:

Did not see the DP interview, but I wonder if she was asked how she looked so good @ 63 (her age? right?). I wish the next female (what else) guest over 40 (magic #, I ’spose) that gets asked that question, replies, “Well, I ain’t in my 80s yet!” Seriously, I’d take that a little personal. Look good? Not young, but GOOD! Oh, I hope my post makes sense. ;)

  38. Mary Evans Says:

    That is sad about Gans.

Man, Roger. That is titally rediculous!

On a much lighter note I’ve been wondering why Dolly’s joking around about her boobs doesn’t bother me. In fact, I think her comments over the years have been amusing.

OTOH, all of SS’s comments ab out hers annoys the hell out of me. Probably started when she talked about waving them in Jeffrey’s face. But then EH bugs me too - especially when goes squirt squirt when she is nursing.

  39. MiamiVision Says:

roger #15 - I saw Dolly on Ellen Degeneres last week and she referred to herself as “trashy looking.” She has always been looking this way, as I know it,

I have loved Dolly (and I’m not even that into country but rather country rock) since the early 70s and by 1986 was already at Dollywood near Pigeon Forge TN. We camped out for 3 weeks when the child was 5 years old in the Smokey Mtns. GREAT time there and Pigeon Forge is one of the best places for biscuits and gravy if one is into that.

  40. May Says:

Ooh crud it just dawned on me that EH is merely going away for a couple of months, at least one of them during summer break, to have her baby. I plumb forgot. Don’t know how since she keeps reminding us daily by rubbing and patting herself in the tummy.
    Oh well I can dream can’t I?

  41. MiamiVision Says:

#22 DianeinNJ - BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nail on head!!

  42. MiamiVision Says:

May - LKL has them all on this week, tonight I think is BW, tomorrow Joy, the next day EH, if you go to cnn dot com forward slash larryking - you can get the schedule there. I’ll be sure NOT to watch. They are only doing it for the May ratings….and LKL is a friend of theirs so he’s doing them a favor by promoting them. He rarely asks a HARD question, unfortunately.

  43. Mary Evans Says:

I agree MV. Audition is in paperback next week and EH’s book comes out.

IIRC Joy is hosting LKL tonight. Looks like guests as Ann Coulter (not again, Joy didn’t do very well last time, imo) and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler who stands up for gay marriage.

    Mo-BW, Tu-Joy, We-EH, Th-Maria Shriver. Fr not listed.

  44. Mary Evans Says:

Forgot to add, there is a poll on LK’s site on whether one supports gay marriage and there is also a place to emails questions for guests.

  45. berndoubt Says:

Please go to youtube and search “Bea Arthur view” and watch the five minute interview that was her last.

  46. Hallie Says:

Bern- Thanks. Wasn’t Rosie great in that interview?
Click for the Enquirer piece on EH.

  47. berndoubt Says:

#46, fingers crossed! Carrie Prejean won’t last long, but at least Elisabeth Hasselbeck would be gone.

  48. May Says:

Thanx for the info on LKL, Miamivision, I will definitely not watch Joy tonite since I will have a goper over visiting and probably won’t watch next week either since BW will probably be promoting her book for the umteenth time and EH will be promoting herself in whatever form.

  49. Pepperbird Says:

What I want to know is…why are these media organizations helping the View? For example, that Time magazine editor gave them a “Most Influential” award, Anderson Cooper interviewed them for a CNN special associated with the award, and now Larry King is boosting at least 3 of them with interviews.

It must be Baba Wawa’s or Disney’s string-pulling. Sherri was present with the others at the Cooper interview, but is not on LKL. I don’t think Whoopi was in on the Cooper interview, and apparently she isn’t going to have a LKL interview either. I wonder if she demurred or was overlooked?

  50. ShannonP Says:

Just watched the clip on the money and finances hot topic and I actually agreed with Elisabeth on it. That is what we do too, pool our money. Whoopi and Joy both seem to buy into that whole mentality that you have to be I-am-woman-hear-me-roar all the time to be a strong woman and I don’t buy into that. I think when you keep finances separate it can seem a little shady sometimes. What works for different people is up to them though. And it might be different if you made a lot of money too. That is a world that I don’t live in though so I only know what works and feels right for me.

  51. Vickie Says:

Roger’s post about the diverted plane due to a passenger’s sneeze…yikes. This “flu”situation has been the most overblown story in years. Misinformation from the get go from the WHO to our folks. This makes me really excited at the thought of the goverment taking over health care, banks, auto industry, etc. They do such a masterful job.

  52. southernexplosion Says:

True Shannonp i agree with you.

  53. mibi Says:

It is a problemwhen you dont tell your husband/wife that you have 800,000 dollars. iam for the 3 account system ( yours, mine and ours) but you should be honest about whats in all accounts.

Hi vik. had a prof. remind us that in the 70’s i guess the gov gavee veryone polio vaccine that caused guilliane barre syndrome in some people. So I understand your scepticism.

    that is all

    xoxo

  54. Vickie Says:

Mibi, if I recall, there was another “swine flu” outbreak in the 70s and one person died from the illness (unfortunately) but many died/were disabled from the vaccine used to counter the non-outbreak.

  55. Vickie Says:

I never thought it would happen to me but over the past few years I have become more and more suspicious and even somewhat paranoid about the government. I have had a creeping worry over the past few days that the “flu outbreak” is a cover for something else - sort of wag the dog…

  56. mibi Says:

truely it seems to be an effect of doing things in mass adn very fast. clinical trial have unforseen incidents happen wiht new test or meds so it is not just the gov that makes mistakes. it just whe gov doe these things it is an emergency and everyone needs whatever it is. so the mistake comeout after many people have been effected. but they have to do someting and sometimes they are the only ones who can help it an overarching way. they just hopefully had time to work out the plan before the problem happens and plan goes in to place. and i give the gov credit for trying to put in a flu plan in one of the stimulous things. it at least showed for sight which is what is important
With the ariline reaction to the sick woman.it seems to me to be on the airline to decied what to do and they are as confused as everyone else.

    xoxo

Wow Roger i just read that without even stopping that smarts baby LOL Just joking but that is cool.

  60. Diane from N.J. Says:

Wow Roger, I could read it.
And now I don’t feel so ridiculous for all my typos on this blog.

  61. Vickie Says:

Mibi, I hope so. I used to think the government worked for the best interest of the citizens but we are learning it is not necessarily true. I think that the news agencies carry a huge responsibility as well. There is just too much air time to fill and the relentless hype feeds the hysteria.

  62. Kelly Says:

    #60 HA

  63. mibi Says:

Vik i know right the things you learn about gov when you grow up. and Yes 24 hr news cycles are new and different beast.

Roger I can read it and it is a good thing cause none of you would be able to understand me and my typos.

  64. Hallie Says:

You may have seen this. I just recently came across it. Sums up EH’s hero (and I guess, BG’s, as well) pretty well, I think:

    Ode to Sean Hannity

    by John Cleese

    Aping urbanity
    Oozing with vanity
    Plump as a manatee
    Faking humanity
    Journalistic calamity
    Intellectual inanity
    Fox Noise insanity
    You’re a profanity
    Hannity

  65. Diane from N.J. Says:

Hallie ! That is great. I assume that is none other than ‘John Cleese’ from Monthy Python fame? If so, I hope Bern sees this.

  66. MiamiVision Says:

Yeah, Mary Evans and May - I had the wrong week *LOL* - it was NEXT week for 3 of the women of the View on LKL.

Meanwhile I just had a thought - about that Prejean woman replacing EH. I don’t think that would necessarily be The Plan by the PTB. I see more of a scenario where Ms. Prejean fills in for EH during maternity leave and then after she returns, THE VIEW gets rid of Sheri, replacing her with Ms. Prejean (cannot remember her first name, carrie?) and thus having 2 right-winged conservatives on the panel with the other 3.

    Just surmising here. *laughs*

  67. MiamiVision Says:

OMG - how funny is John Cleese?!?!?! Thanks for that, Hallie! Laugh of the evening *S*

  68. DiannaC Says:

    #16 Roger, #21 Shannon, and #22 Diane:

I think you are being too hard on EH’s relationship with her husband in this respect.

Neither Joy nor Whoopi is currently married-by-law to their significant others (no matter how long they have been together). If they want to keep their incomes separate – I would too! And they are also not raising young children together.

The definition of being a “submissive wife” is “subjective”. My husband and I both have full time jobs. But for the most part when we go over the our monthly budget together – he more or less decides on how our money is spent. We also have for 4 kids who are all under age 11.

Am I a submissive wife? NO!

Am I a Shop-o-holic who DOES NOT know the meaning of the words “Save”, “Too expensive”, “On Sale”?

    Unfortunately, YES.

  69. Kelly Says:

All this talk about H1N1/Swine Flu and my son comes down with 102.7 fever. No kidding. Just called the Dr. - getting him some Motrin. Have to admit - it entered my mind - so I called the good Doctor.

Here’s something kinda funny: TIME’s online most influential list includes a photo of the ladies of The View – but it seems Sherri and Bitsy hit the cutting room floor.

  70. DiannaC Says:

#69 Kelly “all this talk about H1N1/Swine Flu and n comes down with 102.7 fever. No kidding. Just called the Dr….”.

Kelly, I know where you are coming from! Hopefully, the Motrin will bring down his fever.

I have a 6, 7 and twins age 9 — and I am trying to be “aware” , but not “alarmed”!

  71. Stacee Says:

#64, Hallie - LMBO!!! That is good! Love it :-D

Oh and that Faux new journalist Garret guy was complaining about not being called on in 100 Day Press Conference (despite being called on in the first two). He said - get this - “the other networks will stop covering the press conferences when they realize they are the White House megaphone.

    Oh. The. Irony.
    Oh. The. Nerve.

  72. Stacee Says:

Kelly, hope your little guy feels better soon!

  73. ds Says:

Kelly, hope all is okay. I remember it well from when my kids were little. There’s nothing more horrifying.

#58 Roger, wow. That is totally amazing. I read that fast with no problem, and I’m not a fast reader.

  74. Kelly Says:

Thanks Thanks DiannaC and Stacee. He ‘feels’ cooler already – he’s sleeping comfortably. What a relief.

DiannaC - you really have your hands full. I bet your house is a lot of fun.

Stacee -thanks for that info. I was wondering what the word was on that. TOOOOO FUNNY. Fox - an extension of the GOP - not even a news organization - has their male prostitute attend the President’s Press Conference. I don’t understand why they even allow Garrett in? I’m just waiting for the black helicopters swarm the FOX lot and haul them off to jail?

On another note – received my first Obama racist email “joke” (re: Obama’s stimulus package)…from my step-mother. I wonder how many families across the nation have been torn apart with the help of the haters at FOX Nation? Sick – totally sick of it.

  75. Kelly Says:

Thanks to you too ds - appreciate it.

  76. Pepperbird Says:

DiannaC You are amazing!! You have 4 kids under 11 and both you and your husband work–and you had twins! Furthermore, you have time to post on our View blog!

    Really awesome.

Kelly, I sure hope your little one feels better soon. They can get a fever so fast, poor babies. You’re a good mom to call the doctor and give a med so promptly.

  77. Mary Evans Says:

Kelly - I am bombarded with that type of jokes from my Uncle. He is a gentlemen and wonderful. But obviously addled in his 80’s.

He doesn’t seem to understand that his nieces and nephews and grands just don’t get it or like it. We never send him the jokes about Bush, never have. Or respond.

Long before his sister (my mother) died 10 years ago she talked of his listening to Limbaugh. And SHE used to be a Republican.

My dad died 1 1/2 years ago - caard carrying Republican. But I’ll never forget before he entered the last stages of dementia that he was incredibly concerned about getting the equipment to the troops that they needed - and he questioned GWB.

OTOH it is really sickening to see and hear the slams againsr Obama from the likes of FOX.

It is so contrived and I think the Republican Party is shredded.

  78. MiamiVision Says:

Kelly - Hope he feels better real soon! The new name for this flu is Influenza A H1N1 swine flu and they have yet to find a pig/swine with it! Just heard that on TV.

Anyway, hope everyone has a nice weekend!

  79. Pepperbird Says:

The View gals’ Twittering lately (except for EH’s) is like watching paint dry. Joy and Barbara hardly ever tweet. Old, old comments.

I don’t have access to Sherri’s twitter, so I’m not sure how much she tweets. Probably more than JB or BW I’ll bet.

  80. kellyjo Says:

Kelly, your little guy will be fine. Such bad timing–of course, you are thinking of the flu—but try to relax, it’s just a coincidence. He will be fine. We mothers make ourselves wrecks over our little ones being sick. Glad to hear he feels cooler.

I liked your #5. I’d say you are in the writer/author/publicist field. Good job.

But your #11 “Thank God Obama has a gift – otherwise we’d all be digging our own graves with our Red Elephant Creations’ shovels…”
    I’m lost–what does it mean?

I sincerely hope your little guy is ok–he definitely will be.
From: Troll-Jo (the name you gave me—I really like it!)

  81. Pepperbird Says:

Wow I found Sherri’s twitter and she is the most active of all, looks like…

  82. Pepperbird Says:

Did you see Joy and Ann Coulter on LKL tonight? I missed the first 15 minutes so will go back at 11 PM and see them.

Ann has to be one of the most conceited persons I have ever observed. Somehow, she has this vampire air about her too. Creepy.

  83. Kelly Says:

Pepper –that was so kind. Thank you sincerely.

  84. Mary Evans Says:

Kelly - you must be walking on egg shells.

It is worrisome and I can really realize how easy it is “to go there.” So glad your little tyke is sleeping well and has you to look over him. But you’re informed and vigilant and will take good care, already have.

  85. ShannonP Says:

DiannaC, I wasn’t saying Elisabeth was submissive…I said I’d watch the clip and find out if I agreed with that assessment of her. When I watched it, I posted that I agreed with her take on finances.

But I do get irritated with submissive women in general. The ones that have no life of their own and everything is about their husband, their whole identity is wrapped up in his. I can’t relate to that type of woman.

  86. ds Says:

HAVE I THANKED ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL AMERICAN PEOPLE FOR ELECTING SUCH A WONDERFUL PRESIDENT? I HAVE? WELL, PLEASE ALLOW ME TO DO SO AGAIN!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! IT IS A PLEASURE TO HAVE PRESIDENT OBAMA IN OUR LIVES. I AM SO PROUD AND HAPPY THAT WE ARE YOUR FRIEND AND NEIGHBOUR TO THE NORTH THAT I WANT TO SING ABOUT IT. THE SONG CHOICE IS EASY. IT’S THE SAME ONE I HAPPILY SANG FROM THE ROOFTOPS FOR DAYS AFTER THE ELECTION LAST NOVEMBER.

“I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE RAIN IS GONE
I CAN SEE ALL OBSTACLES IN MY WAY
GONE ARE THE DARK CLOUDS THAT HAD ME DOWN
IT’S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY

I THINK I CAN MAKE IT NOW THE PAIN IS GONE
ALL OF THE BAD FEELINGS HAVE DISAPPEARED
HERE IS THE RAINBOW I’VE BEEN PRAYING FOR
IT’S GONNA BE A BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY

LOOK ALL AROUND, NOTHING BUT BLUE SKYS, LOOK STRAIGHT AHEAD, NOTHING BUT BLUE SKYS…

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE RAIN IS GONE
I CAN SEE ALL OBSTACLES IN MY WAY
GONE ARE THE DARK CLOUDS THAT HAD ME DOWN
IT’S GONNA BE A BRIGHT, BRIGHT, BRIGHT, BRIGHT SUN SHINY DAY…”

  87. Kelly Says:

Mary Evans – thanks for sharing your story. Very sorry to hear your parents have passed – and that politics have become such a dividing force in so many lives. These are the times historians will write about to be certain.

Thanks MiamiVision – I really think he’s going to be okay. You have a great weekend too – don’t work too hard.

Wow KellyJo – now you have me thinking. Really thinking and I thank you for the words of support. I didn’t write #5 – but I did provide the link and the source. On the show today they discussed Obama and his one-time admission that he “had a gift” after being complimented on giving a great speech. Red Elephant Creations is a company that sells GOP gear – so they would most likely profit if the Republicans were in power – rumor has it that Meghan McCain is the owner of Red Elephant Creations. Had Obama not had the gift of communication it is likely the Republicans would still be in power and we would be digging our graves with Meghan’s expensive shovels. Glad you like your name – I thought it was kinda cute.

Don’t know if anyone saw 20/20 tonight but that was really horrible.

Have a good night and great weekend everyone.

  88. Kelly Says:

LOVE it ds - I’ll be singing myself to sleep.

  89. Sunny Says:

good grif..I am watching the CNN special re the Time 100 “influential people” piece. WHY OH WHY…are the View ladies getting so much air time and so much credence. It is absolutely ridiculous that anyone - anyone - thinks their show and their views are influential. Entertaining…sometimes when there is a smackdown and drama…but Influential at the level of many of the other top-100 picks is insulting and embarassing…(mind you there aer some other top-100 picks that are also silly and disrespectful to the reader). Time has jumped the shark.

  90. DiannaC Says:

    #76 Pepperbird Says:

DiannaC You are amazing!! You have 4 kids under 11 and both you and your husband work–and you had twins! Furthermore, you have time to post on our View blog!
    Really awesome.

Dear Pepperbird: I have only been posting to this blog for a couple weeks — I AM an attentive mother I promise!

Actually, my Republican in-laws from Pennsylvania (they voted for Obama!) are visiting until July. And they have happily & voluntarily taken complete charge of the kiddies! I am “Mommy Who?”

  91. marthe Says:

Glad that all kidlets are okay. It seems the usa version is not as severe. Health officials here are asking people to not clog the hospitals.

Sigh the good old days when head lice was the big scare.

My dad, who was a physician, got worried once that the dog had chewed on something toxic. He took a rectal temp whilst my mom was on the phone with the vet. “his temperature is 101!” My mom tells him that is the normal temperature for dogs. Both my sister and my first comment was “We own a thermometer?”

  92. Hallie Says:

Check out AC on LKL last night with Joy. Hard to believe people really think this way.

  93. Stacee Says:

DiannaC Says: “Actually, my Republican in-laws from Pennsylvania (they voted for Obama!) are visiting until July. And they have happily & voluntarily taken complete charge of the kiddies! I am “Mommy Who?”

MY RESPONSE: Oh how sweet. Enjoy it, DiannaC! :-D

  94. Stacee Says:

marthe Says: “My dad, who was a physician, got worried once that the dog had chewed on something toxic. He took a rectal temp whilst my mom was on the phone with the vet. “his temperature is 101!” My mom tells him that is the normal temperature for dogs. Both my sister and my first comment was “We own a thermometer?””

    MY RESPONSE: LOL!

  95. MiamiVision Says:

Click my name and you will see Susan Boyle in a singing contest in Scotland when she was 22 singing “Memories” -

  96. Pepperbird Says:

Marthe: my reaction to your story about your physician dad is also LOL!!

I hope the family didn’t forget and use the same thermometer after this incident.

  97. Sandy Says:

    Kelly,
Hope your little one is doing much better. I know how you feel, and worry.

My grandson, just came down with flu like symptoms,& high fever, 104. I think though, it is most likely a virus that has been going around here for the last few weeks.
It has flu like symptoms, fever, sore throat, cough.
There is no confirmed N1H1 in our area though.

  98. Diane from N.J. Says:

Kelly - Hope your little guy is feeling much, much better. All the best ~~

Sandy - Hope your little grandson is doing fine too.

ds - Thank so much for the lyrics to “I Can See Clearly Now” - written and recorded by Johnny Nash in 1972 - Such a great an timeless song - - always loved from my high school days.

I swear, I have the warm and fuzzies for the dear Canadians on this blog…
    ……ds ~ Carmella ~ Joey….hope I am not forgetting anyone.

  99. Diane from N.J. Says:

Dear Miami - Thanks for the shout out on #28 much much earlier - love that you ‘got’ my June Cleaver reference. And thanks for the Susan Boyle 1984 video - zow - her voice is so much richer now - she has ripened like a good wine.

    ;)

  100. MiamiVision Says:

Hey DianefromNJ #99: You’re welcome!! However, I think you got that #28 wrong. You were #22 and I responded to that at post #41 (from my view here anyway). Yeah on SB, she was only 22 there - nice and thin and very very shy appearing to me, a humble woman *S*

  101. Kelly Says:

Pepper: I too was hoping marthe never found herself with a thermometer under her tongue. I can’t imagine what the dog must have been thinking. Ahhhh, the things we do for love.

Hallie: I can’t even bring myself to watch Ann Coulter compare torture to college hazing. Can’t do it.

MiamiVision: I really enjoyed seeing the young Susan Boyle – and agree with Diane that her talents have ripened. She was/is quiet endearing.

Sandy & Diane: Thank you – it is really worrisome to watch a little guy go from full throttle to lethargic and non communicative. He WANTED to go to bed. But, his fever broke after the Motrin – so it was sippy cup, graham crackers and The Adventures of Thomas the Train…at 3am yesterday. He’s back to his little old self. Life is good. I hope your grandson recovered as quickly Sandy. That is a really high fever – very scary.

Diane: I think Isabel is another Canadian Great.

Happy Sunday everyone – hope your flowerbeds and family visits are blooming fun.

  102. Diane from N.J. Says:

Shout out to Isabel too !

  103. ds Says:

Hi Diane and Kelly - Thank You for your sweet and kind Canuck shout-outs!

  104. Hallie Says:

EH does look good in the pic, but her comments seem a little odd to me.

  105. mibi Says:

With all these nice Canadians I guess have to stop singing “Blame Canda” from South Park. ( I joke I joke I kid I kid) Had fun every time i’ve been to Canada.

Glad the little on is better Kelly. Hope Sandy’s grandbaby is better too.

  106. marthe Says:

Didn’t EH say once that Tim told her how much she was allowed to spend on christmas gifts? That could just be a proclivity of hers though that needs to be checked. But then he did also demand that they leave that one store RIGHT NOW, including leaving the cart where it was. Sounds like an asshat to me.

TWOP has a people article on bits and her pregnancy. also a strong suspicion that twitter is paying for product placement.

Jeez, I think Howard Stern’s wife would be an improvement over bits.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if Obama really showed us how non-partisan he is by appointing bits as ambassador, to, say, Mongolia?

When she says she has friends that are in and out of Iraq, does she mean Gary sinese?

I don’t think any of us kids tried to fake getting out of school, but the joke was we only ever got a hand on the forehead.

  107. ds Says:

Hallie, thank you for the link, agree her comments are odd. She never looks good to me, can barely stand the sight of her after she said “where are their parents?” referring to kids without health care.

Mibi, LOL, you can keep singing “Blame Canada” from South Park, we are huge fans of South Park here, it’s very funny.

#106 first paragraph: proves how fake she is, she’ll say anything to sound “human” and
    “likeable” to the masses.

  108. Sandy Says:

    Diane, Kelly & Mibi,
Thank you. My grandson is doing better.
Went to the Dr. this morning. He has strep throat.

  109. marilyn Says:

    #108 Sandy

I am glad to hear your grandson is doing better. So sorry he had to get strep throat. That is a nasty ‘bug’. I hope Gramma does not catch it again.

  110. Sandy Says:

    109 thanks Marilyn,
A couple doses of antibiotic, and he’s practically back to normal today. He’s under strict Grammy orders not to pass this to me.
