I just have to say…. this is not even pleasant to watch anymore… if you are going to talk politics, have it fair and balanced…. right not… your have JOy, Whoopi, and Barbara and mostly Sherri…
always bashing Mccain and Palin,, and gang up on Elizabeth…. always cut her off,,, and if you watch,, Barbara is always holing her hand up .. like to “shut up”… is not a genuine discussion on politcis.. right now you might as well give out Obama tshirs and buttons to the audience… You are about to lose a great and diversified co host and alot of viewers… it is like watching a child being bullied by friends and the mother defending the bullies.. DeNise

I want to thank Barbara for reining in Elizabeth. It seems she gets “prepped” every night with the party line no matter how outrageous it may seem to sensible people. The fact that today she did not defer even remotely to Barbara when she was trying to make a point seems out of control. I’ve been waiting for Barbara to call her out more on her statements and today seems to have been the day.

I really a tired of most of the hosts on the show getting on Elizabeth for her being a McCain/Palin supporter. That is her perrogative, but a couple of you are so condensing when she tries to make a point or express a point on what she feels. The others always get their thoughts about who they obviously support and their digs in for McCain/Palin but they are quick to jump on Elizabeth when she wants to interject something that they obviously don’t want to hear! Ladies let everyone express their opinions and if don’t like what is said, debate it, don’t be rude and condensing in your counterpoints and let them express themselves, please!
October 1st, 2008 at 9:28 am
I just love watching everyday but more and more I notice that as soon as Ms Priss (AKA. Elisabeth) starts to get a little bent out of shape, the subject has to get changed. She was given the chance to voice her opinion on why she felt Sarah Palin was right for the job of VP or even Pres and instead she choose to act like a child and say, why dont’ you tell me why you think Barack is right. Grow up Elisabeth!!!
October 1st, 2008 at 9:29 am
For goodness sakes — can’t Elisabeth answer a questions w/out deflecting it back to Barbara! Can’t she ever have a dissenting view from HER political party? I just want to hear her have an original thought! PLEASE!!!

1) Winnie, y no recap 2day? I hope u r well.
2) What is teh name of the comedian who sayd “BW u have more specials than Walmart”. I cant remember!
3) BW def did look like Marcel Marceau ! LOL

Winnie does not normally do recaps on Wednesdays.

I am going to quit watching the View. I can’t stand to see the way Elisabeth is put in an arena as bait to Joy, Whoopi, and Barbara. Joy needs to go back to whatever she did before.. a teacher? Can you believe that? I wonder how many of her students sat in her class and listened to her rambling. It would be nice to see her dress a little more age appropriatly, cover up those Boobs!!! Go do your thing and let the rest of us normal women listen to someone that doesn’t put everyone down unless they agree with her. Sad but true.. no more View!!

did anyone think besides me that todays episode kind of confirmed the ongoing tension between Liz and BW??
October 1st, 2008 at 10:55 am
Chris #4, yes I think it was very telling, the way Barbara was jumping in before things could get said and then went on to say the whole thing about liking having EH on the show, and she was only opposing opinion, etc…
If they can make it through the election, maybe they can stick together-but it doesn’t look good!
I know 99% of this board wants EH gone. I have to say though, it would be very boring to watch Joy “school” the other co-hosts everyday on how they should think. I’m am not putting down Joy, but she has a solid handle on her opinions and easily sways others.
Although, it has recently gone beyond entertaining to uncomfortable again. I would love to see a strong, brillent republican woman take EHs place. I think if the show were totally representing one side- it would be more of a lecture and less interesting. Unfortunatly, EH repeats herself too much and doesn’t think on her feet as fast as Joy.
Personally, I’d like to put Dennis Miller in that seat-I’d never miss a show!
October 1st, 2008 at 10:56 am
Finally, BW is taking a stand with the Palin clone! I loved it when she said “yOU say the same thing everytime” and “…why do you always feel you have to defend her” (even when she is wrong as was implied by BW!” Can’t stand listening to shrill Liz anymore because she makes no sense, doesn’t have the facts right, unlike Joy who is usually prepared. Let EH go to FOX where they can all live in their dream world together.
October 1st, 2008 at 10:57 am
Added thought: After thinking about Dennis Miller on the show- Joy and Dennis alone, would be a great show! I could do without all the others! LOL
What a smart and funny show that would be.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:04 am
Gov Palin should be compared to Bush who was also a governor before foing to the White House.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:07 am
I really had to laugh after Joy made the comment about Sarah being stupid…boy did
that raise Lizzy’s hairs…and then Lizzy made the comment that she loved all the excited reactions to Sarah until more was said about Sarah and then she went into “ORBIT”…and Babs needs to quit saying
“OH, WE LOVE EACH OTHER” BULL…she needs to
quit covering up.
I honestly expected Lizzy to be gone after the break..she was s-o-o-o riled up. And
the Babs asked her What she thought qualified Sarah for VP and she did not answer..she countered with What qualifies Obama? Dam she is always spinning!!!!!
October 1st, 2008 at 11:16 am
After todays display…I truly believe Elisabeth loves being hated. She was vile today.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:20 am
NOTIMPRESSED:
As someone above said, there is a lot of tension. at first I thought it was just a rumor that she may leave, not I think there’s some truth to it. There are somethings that I disagree with Obama on, but she seems to agree with Palin and McCain on EVERY issue.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:21 am
After watching today’s program, I am going to vote Whoopee for president. She has such common sense and seems to see things with clearer eyes than some others.
We all have our own opinions regarding the political scene and the individuals running for office, but it is very nice to be able to admit that everyone has special strengths but also weaknesses. Too bad that some people are so fixated on a certain political party they cannot or will not acknowledge this. Personally, I feel the whole thing has gone on way too long and will be glad for the election to come to a conclusion
October 1st, 2008 at 11:24 am
Wow, after today I don’t think I’ll ever watch your show again!!!! I’m ashamed at you Barbara I use to admire you, letting everone get off like that today. Your show is SO ONE sided its pathetic. I thought it was the View of different people, all of you seem to gang up on Elizabeth, I’m so glad she can hold her own. Joy’s is not a joy to listen to and needs her mouth taped shut! Forever! She is crude and rude!!! She is now worse than Rosie was! Cheri you need to step it up and join in, Woopi you lost it for me today also, you’ve all lost respect, and I’ve lost respect for you!!!
October 1st, 2008 at 11:26 am
Was I the only one disgusted by Whoppi going on and on about all the plaque she has? Why did we need to know about her poor dental hygiene? UGH!
October 1st, 2008 at 11:26 am
Liz is so uneducated! She’s also for the war-why not send her husband to Iraq and put him on the front lines? I’m sure she would change her mind-then maybe she would get some education!

“she seems to agree with Palin/McCain on every issue”
Thats just it, I don’t believe she does really-its almost for arguments sake. She is so ultra-conservative, I would think she would be happier if Gov. Huckabee where the candidate. I know Palin is in that vein, but her anger and indignation about McCain puzzles me. McCain is pretty far left in his party.
She just can’t keep up with Joy and/or Joy is too much for the view. Not in a bad way, but Joy is so passionate about this election, it takes the show to another level. Where I think Whoppi, Sherri and Barbararealy don’t add much at all and EH can’t defend her paty as quick wittedly.
IDK, I just wonder what it will be like after the elction.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:30 am
i have to say EH is really getting annoying, all she does is turn the conversation away from anything that would look bad for her candidate. She refuses to openly debate things and just gets angry when things don’t go her way. Especially when BW asked her what she though qualifies Sarah for VP and she said what qualifies Obama, all that does is insite angry it doesn’t help the discussion at all. It seems no matter who else is at the table all EH does is try to cause problems. She has no idea how to have a civilized debate without making it personal.
Also i find it very weird that somone her age is sooo conservative and aggrees with a single party on every issue. Even the best candidates need antaginistic remarks to help keep them in line. It’s the whole court jester principal.
Hopefully if EH leaves they will be able to find someone who can have a better discussion than just start fighting all the time.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:30 am
did anyone else see whoopi implode and say how she really feels?? lol BECAUSE SHE DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING!! lol i cracked up
October 1st, 2008 at 11:32 am
BW is a mess! She’s a bad characatuer of her former self. Can you imagine your boss giving you the smack down in an office meeting like that? (Not to mention her rudeness on the couch and behind the scenes to guests)I happen to agree w/what BW said to EH, but WOW! How embarassing for EH….UNTIL, when asked to name 3 strong points of Palin, she initially answers by asking the same about Obama instead of answering the question! Are you kidding me??
October 1st, 2008 at 11:34 am
Good for Joy today as she was speaking about Palin’s pitiful interview with Katic Couric. They showed the part when Palin smirked that “I have been watching Biden’s speeches since I was in the SECOND GRADE”! When asked if that might insult McCain’s age too, she replied that no,Biden was experienced while SHE was new and fresh. BULL! Loved it when Barbara, after crooning to EH that they LOVED having her on the show, but she never says “Maybe it could be looked at this way”. EH then shouted that “Yes I do. Back in 2004 I said that O’Bama was blah, blah”. What a meathead, dingbat. Way back in 2004 she said something nice about O’Bama. Wow! Get the flags out,the champagne flowing. Barbara said we’ll continue with this talk of Palin after the debate (Monday’s show). If EH comes in Monday with a cheshire cat grin on her face, look out!
October 1st, 2008 at 11:37 am
I am REallllly tired of those NOT letting
Elizabeth get a word in or finish her point.
Which she did start to answer Barbara today RE: Sarah’s qualifications, then got cut off when those other liberial dipsticks did not like or want to hear her out. I guess Woopi’s bad teeth (no surprise) was more important. I am Done w/this crazy show if Elizabeth leaves. Why didn’t one those those other nuts speak up about Obama’s so called qualifications?????…………..
October 1st, 2008 at 11:42 am
SweetLaydy,
It was gross! TMI, Whoppi.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:42 am
#11 June…
Elisabeth is not ultra conservative. One who is conservative does not shake their ass for the camera on live TV. One who is conservative does not lift up their blouse to reveal and rub on their pregnant belly. One who is conservative would not like the song ‘I Kissed A Girl’.
Elisabeth does not dress conservatively either.
She may have traditional values,(marriage before sex, no abortions) but her daily displays on The View are certainly not what would be considered ‘ultra conservative’.
Elisabeth is what is called a far right extremist. Based on her political views.

Joy just likes to cause problems. I don’t know why there are 3 liberals and a total loony liberal (Joy) against 1 republican. Are they scared to make it balanced. They remind me of children at school bullying the one child that is different. And I’m sorry, but Katie Couric is one of the worst journalist ever. And so what if Palin made a joke, get over it. At least she doesn’t have a background working with a bunch of corrupt people, like Obama does. And Biden is soooo boring!!! I think when EH comes back she should bring a conservative with her to make it more balanced. As long as that doesn’t threaten anyone.
October 1st, 2008 at 11:57 am
Why is it that people can never find a fault with their candidate? EH should be able to admit when a Republican makes a gaffe, or an all out mistake. NONE of them are perfect, and it shows a real either ignorance or immaturity to pretend that they are. I am an avid Yankee fan, but that does not mean I do not get mad at them or call them fools for making blunders, although I continue to support them. I also don’t try to blame it on the other team when they lose. Republicans lately seem to not be able to defend Palin, for obvious reasons, so instead they attack Obama. I hate the fact that these elections seem to be spun to make the public so frightened of the opposite candidate that they “settle” and vote for the other. McCain choosing Palin was an example of living in the moment, rather than what seemed best for the future. I am equally tired of Democrats saying that Hillary would have been the better candidate for VP. While that may have won Obama the election, would they have been able to work together as a team?
October 1st, 2008 at 12:03 pm
eh will probably leave the show after the election…she wants a job at fox(where she’ll be appreciated). they need more blonde robots over there anyway.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Agree about WG’s dental history- too gross. Why wouldn’t she go to the dentist regularly? Bleeeccchhhh…….
EH has no sense of humor. She should be able to support the GOP ticket AND be able to chuckle at their gaffes…..ya gotta laff, Lizzy.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:09 pm
I hope this will help limit Eliz’s days on the View. She comes off so incredibly stupid and does not represent any view but young white bitches with rich husbands. Ok i’m old white lower middle-class with a poor boyfriend HA! Anyway, today was quite the scrapple. You can tell BW is getting tired of her shit. Yet I love to see EH get upset and teary over it.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:17 pm
I have faults with my candidate (JM), but I feel he has less faults than Obama. I actually am a Ron Paul fan. Almost all of the democrats and republicans are to blame for this whole mess, they saw it coming and did nothing. The American people should be outraged at all of them. We need a new party badly. I’m sorry, but Obama has way too many bad affiliations. I could never vote for him, based on trust alone. And McCain, anyone who would go to war for his country, and put another before himself (which almost killed him) that is the ultimate sacrifice. That alone, I have the utmost respect for this man. Like I said, I don’t agree with him 100%, but I know he’s thinking what is best for the country.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:23 pm
Lizzie can not get off The View fat enough for me. What an obnoxious moron she is.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:24 pm
fat=far
October 1st, 2008 at 12:25 pm
stacee: O I didnt know.
sandy: Ahh yes Nathan Lane. Thanks!
every 1 else: I liked that Bw called out EH. Im still waiting 4 BW to adress the rude comments EH made about Michelle Obama when honoring Cindy which were so untrue.
Also, as much as there is tension, if Eh were gonna leave wouldnt it ahve been announced in May like Star & Meredith announced it in May?
October 1st, 2008 at 12:38 pm
It was crazy today on Hot Topics!
I wish BW had been more articulate when acknowledging EH’s inability to admit anything is wrong with Palin. Those unfinished and jumbled sentences are hard to take. Perhaps BW was scared to say it straight on because EH is ready to jump in bed with Fox.
Reminds me of the Rosie days: Rosie often had excellent points but didn’t always find the best words to express them, leaving things in a mess. It often left me craving a full and proper debate format with each person prepared and ready to give their points and counterpoints.
Today, EH was cocky from the moment the show started, laughing at Joy for getting miffed with Palin. I used to think EH had some brains, but now I see her as a total Republican Puppet, who probably isn’t even doing them any good because she can never admit a problem. Anyone who thinks Palin presented herself in good light with Couric is nuts.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:39 pm
Hasselbitch is crazy…plain and simple. I don’t know of anyone who will agree with EVERYTHING that EVERYONE in the Repulsive Party(which is what is has become) does. McLame could have chosen an actual moose from Alaska as his VP candidate and she will vehemently defend this man’s decision. She would not question his sanity or anything. It must be right because he is Repuglican. He could tell her water is not wet and she will defend it and will go out of her way to prove he is right. No one with good sense will agree with everything from their candidate or think their candidate or representative cannot make a mistake. Heck, even Buchanan critiqued Reagan and Bush on certain policies and/or actions dealing with the war or the economy. Seriously, this chick needs help and a really loud wake up call. One of these days, she will meet someone who will put her in her place and she will only be able to just take it.
Hope that day is soon. What a bird!
October 1st, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Lala:”EH….UNTIL, when asked to name 3 strong points of Palin, she initially answers by asking the same about Obama instead of answering the question! Are you kidding me??”
I couldn’t believe her initial response either.
Did you see the venomous look in EH’s eyes when she finally did answer the question?
I’ve never seen her look at BW that way before; she didn’t act like she was in fear of losing her job at all.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Elizabeth gets too hysterical and shrill when anything negative is said about her political party…she’s acting childish and very annoying… i really just hate it when i can no longer get what everyone is saying but only hear EH’s shreiky voice above everyone else’s… i hope the ladies(?) stop trying to out-talk each other… it gets really annoying… also, i hope the View gets a more reasonable republican to co-host the show.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I cannot understand why this child takes things said about someone she supports so personal. She gets this attitude like she is someone to fear (LOL) and is the typical smug, self righteous republican. This bimbo proved her lack of professionlism and maturity many times especially at the cindy mccain luncheon when she made a snide remark about Michelle Obama. It is my understanding that the Obamas’ declined to respond to news of her comment and I don’t blame them. She is not worth acknowledging.
Something is seriously wrong with this chick.
October 1st, 2008 at 12:58 pm
I don’t understand how EH could not see that Palin is definitely not qualified to be a potential head of a great country like the USA… my gosh!!! If she wins, the country will really be going downhill…think America!!!
October 1st, 2008 at 1:01 pm
I wanted to add re: BW
She said a couple of times how “uninformed” Gov. Palin is, which ended in the whole debocale with EH (making them both sound silly.) However I must say, not in defense of Gov. palin but in disappointment with BW. Sen. Biden has been “preparing” for the debate in Deleware since Monday. They are both doing the same thing, so it makes for a very weak statement. I would imagine he has to “study” as much as she does, he wouldn’t have known much about her until a month ago. I’m just saying if BW wanted to some sort of comment about Gov. Plain she should have used the Couric interview-the fact that Gov. Palin is preparing/practicing doesn’t make the point.
BW seems out of it to me. And for the 20 millionth time, I wish someone would tie down her hands! LOL
October 1st, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Memo to Elisabeth Hasselbeck:
Re: FDR and the Depression
When you are trying to make Joe Biden look dumb for saying that FDR was on TV before it was invented, don’t make yourself look like an idiot by repeating three days in a row, that FDR was not president during the Depression. Yes, he was. Google it.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:02 pm
I honestly live for days like this on the show. Days where EH looks more idiotic then ever. You can totally tell that Joy is done with listening to her BS by the way she brushes off everything EH says basically. As if it’s not even worth listening to anymore (which it isn’t).
I think EH knows how much America hates her and is going into a certain kind of defense mode. Like a child who has been told “Don’t do that”, she is responding with, “well I will just do it more and more JUST to annoy you”. Shows how freaking immature this little girl is.
That one tiny moment when she turned BW’s question around and asked about Obama was the prime example of her lack of knowledge. That moment needs to be played on repeat all over the internet for everyone to see.
Oh and I’m so damn sick of BW’s cockiness and bragging….jesus christ. When she just had to quickly throw in about how she was the “first woman co-anchor” or whatever. I mean was that really necessary? I really hate when she does that. And she does it all the time and in that tone that tries to show that she really isn’t bragging and that it’s not a big deal. Know what I mean? You can’t brag and pretend it’s nothing at the same time lady.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:05 pm
Yes, it seems to me she does’nt care if she stays, probably does have another offer, but will wait until after the elections. I was soo hoping though she would be gone after the break and then for them all to come back again gushing their love for each other, it’s just so uncomfitable to watch. If the bitch had any class, after the break she would have apolized to BW,for not answering her guestion. BW is losing a lot of peoples resept because of EH. I know she’s lost mine.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:05 pm

LMAO about BW and her bragging-
at least she didn’t through her book title out there again! LOL

ELIZABETH, GROW UP! BARBARA, YOU NEED A MORE REASONABLE REPUBLICAN TO CO-HOST THE VIEW… SOMEONE WHO IS NOT SHRILL AND HYSTERICAL, PLEASE.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Elisabeth couldn’t wait to give her “I love how shook up in your boots you get over Sarah Palin” line to Joy. She almost said it with Palin’s accent. You could see how Elisabeth tried interrupting Joy to start with and then when Joy asked to finish her point, Elisabeth got it out as soon as Joy finished. Elisabeth seems so delighted with herself when she speaks like that, and she just wanted to have a dig at Joy’s comment, later saying “is this really all you have on her?” To which Joys come back was excellent. She would have a lot more to say I’m sure, given the time. In fact I wish they had more time on Hot Topics today, but things on heated and you knew it was bad when Joy is telling Whoppi to go to commercial.
The body language on today’s show was very interesting. I honestly think Barbara was trying to be kind to Elisabeth and giving her the time to defend her own thoughts on Sarah Palin. Barbara patted Elisabeth on the hand to try to get her attention to listen to her and Elisabeth kept rambling ignoring her. I think Elisabeth was very rude to Barbara in both her condesending tone and hand flapping arrogance. I really couldn’t believe Elisabeth’s reply at first because here was an opportunity to stick up for Palin and instead she took a cheap shot at Barbara.
All I can say is what goes around comes around Elisabeth.
I agree with others who say that they welcome other points of view and should Elisabeth leave The View she should be replaced with another conservative. In fact that is what makes for interesting discussions. Elisabeth can’t handle it, she’s too closed minded, mumbles under her breath while others are speaking, or interrupts them and seems unable to state her opinions without sounding like a whiney highstrung spoilt brat. And her hand waving, finger pointing motions are so juvenille!
October 1st, 2008 at 1:16 pm

Yes I was thinking the same thing.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:22 pm
I think Elisabeth is the only one who makes any sense and used to feel bad for her as they all gang up on her. Now I think she holds her own to them and I say YOU GO GIRL!
October 1st, 2008 at 1:23 pm
#29 Teresa, I disagree. I think BW has lost respect because of BW. And I’m not an EH fan.
I had to watch the clip again, and at one point Joy is saying, “cut to a break, cut to a break”. hahaha….
So agreeing about BW/constant self promotion AND putting her arm in front of EH.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:28 pm
Bits has a lot of nerve chiding Joy for getting “worked up about Palin”. Bits is constantly getting upset to the point of screeching whenever something is said concerning Obama.
And I agree; there is noting wrong with disagreeing with a candidate of your choice. Bits does not, just as she didn’t with Pres. Bush. Maybe she believes she will lose her Sean Hannity fan club card if she does
October 1st, 2008 at 1:33 pm
There is a difference in preparing for the debate and learning the issues. Candidates should know their stances on the issues already, as well as be versed in the details of the issues. But debating is an art form, and so candidates have to prepare their strategies and tactics, as well as their opponents answers. Palin has to cram all the issues, whereas McCain, Obama, and Biden seemingly know the issues, they just have to fine tune strategies and learn to anticipate how their opponent will react so they don’t back themselves into a corner.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Whatever prep Biden is doing for the debates - it is not on the issues. He could grind Palin into the ground on that. I’m guessing the prep is in how to NOT appear condescending and patronizing, not call her dear, stay cool, resist the temptation to pulverize her and just let her sink her own ship.
I realized today why EH drives me so crazy. She IS Palin, in that she is the one crammed with facts and statistics - unlike the others that speak more off the cuff and are infuriatingly uninformed sometimes on the facts… Just be a mom, a marginal celebrity and tell us what you think, not your party’s talking points, don’t be a puppet for huckabee or fox or whoever using you as a mouth piece like a good little nazi.
And while Palin may have more ‘managerial’ experience than Obama, she doesn’t have knowledge, she’s not a deep thinker and there are serious ethical charges swirling around her. Just because she has had the experience of running a state with the same number of people as 1/5 of manhattan doesn’t make her more qualified. As Bill Clinton said, there is good experience and bad experience. Did EH’s experience on survivor make her qualified to talk about politics? Um, no.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:36 pm
When Bitsy told Joy that Palin makes her shake in her boots, or whatever nonsensical thing she said, Sherri said to Bitsy, “You’ve got a pair of those boots, too.” Very funny and probably not heard over Bitsy’s screeching.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:38 pm
I just saw the clip of EH answering BW’s question (it’s made it to HuffPo, complete with unflattering picture).
Rosie was right - identical cousins.
I have to give it to EH though. EH was much better than SP at filling the air to buy time to come up with a coherent (even if wrong and contrary to facts) response. EH is much better at stringing together talking points so that they are grammatical, and arguing from the offensive (YOU FIRST - you give me 3 reasons Obama is qualified first because I tell you why she is qualified). But she at least requires one spend the time to fact-check what she said (which would reveal that her answer is very weak).
1. SP has made NO decisions as “commander in chief” of the national guard “during a time of war.” And if the National Guard is operating “in a time of war” the President, not the governor would make the decisions. ONly the country can go to war, not the states. And when the country goes to war, the President makes the decision for all state guard units. They say SP has made no decisions regarding the operations of hte national guard, but if the time came for a decision it WOULD NOT and COULD NOT be because of a war!!!
2. SP is not doing much to run the state of Alaska. She spent over 300 days, out of less than 400 days, at her home in Wasilla, not in the capital. Some work can surely be done at home, but you can’t supervise, network, develop informal reltionships that are critical to massaging difficult issues, and providing leadership etc. from home.
If you call the state government now, you get the McCain campaign, not state workers.
Her husband has taken her place at several meetings (prior to nomination) in which people expected to meet with her. not even the Clintons did that! People around the capital used to asked “What would Todd think” - because of his role in everything.
She didn’t truly run the city of Wasilla by herself much either. She made some unpopular decisons initially (which may have been good decisions), and hired a city manager.
3. SP is not an expert in national energy. She may know about oil production, which is different from a national energy expert. She does’t even have her figures accurate as to how much oil Alaska produces for America. I’ve never heard of any backup as to hwat she knows and how it helps. Being oil rich doesn’t give you any leg up on wind power, dams, solar energy, (probably not a lot of that in Alaska anyway), resource allocation, the role of Middle East in oil and national security, etc. I’ve never heard how her experience with oil in Alaska is helpful in any practical terms.
But at least they were complete sentences.

This was the first time in months that I missed the show! I wish the link (http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5928293) had the entire hot topic section. Anyone know where or if there’s a full video?
October 1st, 2008 at 1:45 pm
did anyone else think the tears were going to start flowing today down eh’s cheek? that is usually her go-to behavior when she isn’t getting her way…i do think bw’s patience is wearing thin and maybe whatever attention eh brings the view just isn’t worth it…i’m sure if obama wins this election eh will be in 1 long continuous snit…november is a sweeps month maybe bw and bg are hoping she provokes another smackdown with her co-hosts
October 1st, 2008 at 1:46 pm
EH reminds me of a spoiled 2 year old little brat. If she is a representative of that bracket of young women you need a new representative. I might not always agree with whoopi and joy but they seem more willing to listen and debate issues with some intelligents. Sherri freely admits that she is trying to learn and that takes guts to admit you don’t know something.
October 1st, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Do you all not realize it’s because Elizabeth doesn’t agree with you. She has her own opinion and you don’t like it. She is one against all of them…when she tries to speak they don’t like what they hear, so, they attack, like you all are doing here. I sincerely hope that Elizabeth leaves the show, and allows them all to wallow in their own filth.
Joy is a loud mouth, who thinks she is the only one allowed an opinion. Her mouth could swallow Europe.
October 1st, 2008 at 2:06 pm
I just watched the full clips on YouTube. EH was completely out of control…practically foaming at the mouth. They need to get her off the show. And I yawn as I type this next part because I’ve said it too many times before, but it’s not because she’s a Republican or because of who she is voting for, it’s because she doesn’t have her own thoughts, she’s like a programmed robot. Finally BW says something about it! Sure she had to do the disclaimer and sugar coat it, but at least she said something. And the audience went wild. And when cornered on the Palin points, of course Whoopi had to cut it off when it was getting good…as per instructions from Boss Man Bill. Funny how they didn’t need to go to commercial when Rosie was on the hotplate. But things get just a little rough for Elisabeth and she starts to flounder and squirm and what happens? Cut off, commercial, back with smiles…of course.
October 1st, 2008 at 2:10 pm
I don’t want her to leave because I don’t want to give those with her mindset any excuse to lump everyone who doesn’t see it as EH does into the same political etc bowl. Elisabeth Hasslehof has serious “I’m right and you’re wrong” issues that seem to prevent her from ever meeting others half way in a discussion. Once she forms an opinion about someone or a subject, she holds on to it for dear life, and it renders her unmovable even when her argument has been shot to smithereens. I’d be very curious about her marriage.
She has seriously transparent downright hatred for Barack Obama and it needs to be addressed. She calls herself a Christian, well this Christian firmly believes EH needs to take an inward look at the reasons for her violent reaction to the Obama’s because it’s there loud clear and scary.

Excellent points Lajet. I like it when facts back up the bullet point. I also love when you know Joy is fed up talking to this airhead and just does that hand wave of dismissing EH - priceless. So over the whole “but we really love each other” as well as “that’s the beauty of being an American and on this show, we can share our opinions” and we are not allowed to forget “the first female news anchor and the author of Audition.” The repetition of those points is as bad as EH saying the same thing over and over again. One point of Whoopi’s last week which I have always wondered, as a Canadian, why did Bush say he would get the perps of 9/11, then send the troops to Iraq instead of Afghanistan? I know it is all about the oil but to lose so many lives, I would have thought more people would call him on that point over the years. I know EH says he is just keeping America safe but I think that is a bit simplistic, but consider the source.

Amen, Heather in LA! Well said!
October 1st, 2008 at 2:53 pm
I’m new to this site but I can’t believe some of your comments about EH. How would you feel if you were out numbered 4 to 1. She’s the only reason I ever tune in to the View these days. I’m amazed at how well and quick she thinks with all the others talking over her. It’s justs not true to life. I think there should be more conservatives on this show, if for no other reason than fairness. But this is typical of the media. It’s the only way they can win any debate. If EH leaves the show, I will too. You liberals can have your own little show where you only want to hear the sound of your own voice.
October 1st, 2008 at 2:58 pm
EH - In your heart of hearts, is SP truly a person you would want to lead our country should the need arise?
October 1st, 2008 at 2:59 pm
You’re very welcome, Sandy.
I just saw the director of the movie they were talking about yesterday “An American Carol,” on MSNBC. TLB said the movie was so funny.. Well guess what, they make fun of Rosie in the movie. I wish someone would have mentioned that yesterday.
October 1st, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Did anyone notice when Diahann Carroll totally dissed BW by saying I probably spent more time with your father than you did? I thought that was low. DC seemed to not like BW and even revealing her age after BW said (I don’t know if she said “about” b/c BW is older)that they were the same age, seemed like a passive-aggressive dig. I felt bad for BW in those moments.
October 1st, 2008 at 3:13 pm
rainlillie, of course no one mentioned “An American Carol” makes fun of Rosie…everyone on the view acts like she never existed…petty and childish if you ask me…lisa and meredith and even debbie have been on since they left…star on the other hand, we all know how that went down.
October 1st, 2008 at 3:48 pm

thanks for the rebuttal to EH’s sputtering - it gave me some good talking points! I wish whoopi and joy had more stats at their fingertips to rebutt her. In the old days you could email each host directly - I used to write to EH and ask her to stop interrupting so much (like when rory kennedy was on) but now BG gets all emails… I wonder if the Obama camp watches and emails Whoop, you know, the way EH will mention the McCain camp emails her.
I saw the Huckabee clip when she was on and she designed a t-shirt that says “Americain” with a little mc above the cain. cute. she said it was drawing on her industrial and fashion design training. she is like that annoying girl in high school that is always sucking up and beaming.
fyi, just to clarify, Palin drives 45 min to Anchorage from Wasila every day, she doesn’t actually work from home. She sleeps at home so can’t claim lodging but claims perdiem for meals and incidentals. State rules say if your job stations you in Juneau then you get meal money when VISITING your hometown - so she can claim exactly because she goes home at night! I mean, look, would I claim another $60 day if a technicality allowed it? Probably. But I’m not campaigning on a reform/watchdog platform.
And yes, according to what I’ve read she fired everyone who didn’t support her bid for office or if they had allegiance to her predecessor and then fired anyone who didn’t do what she wanted like the trooper who wouldn’t fire her sister’s ex-husband.
How can EH look America in the eye and continue to talk about how great she is when HER OWN PARTY is being critical and all but calling for her to step down. The debate tomorrow night should seal that deal…
Wouldn’t it be perfect if Palin and EH ’step down’ at the same time?
October 1st, 2008 at 3:53 pm
PRIOR PSOT: fyi, just to clarify, Palin drives 45 min to Anchorage from Wasila every day, she doesn’t actually work from home.
RESPONSE: You’re right. I misspoke. I thnk the rest of it still applies - she works from Anchorage, but she’s not in Juneau much, wehre the business of the state is done. I imagine she does see the anchorage folks for the informal stuff that goes on in politics (be it goernment, business or religious groups), but Alaska is more than Anchorage, and she doesn’t have a lot of contact wtih the rest of Alaska or their representatives.
October 1st, 2008 at 3:54 pm
It is obvious to me that Elisabeth is frustrated with repeatedly having to defend her views and being ganged up on by the other liberal hosts. I don’t see how she takes it day in and day out, and i absolutely admire her. How would most of us do in such an unbalanced and unfair setting? She truly does an outstanding job, and represents conservatives across this country beautifully!! Wasnt’t this country founded on conservative Christian values?! People need to wake up and realize what is happening to our country is because of us getttin more and more away from those values!

“Sen. Biden has been “preparing” for the debate in Deleware since Monday.”
Biden’s prep isn’t for knowledge like Palins, it is for style. He has to study up on how to handle the delicate flower Sarah, just like Whoopie and Joy do every day with Bits.
October 1st, 2008 at 4:45 pm
From a Canadian point of view, I used to enjoy watching the view, but since John McCain picked Sarah Palin, I have seen Joy go from a joy to watch to a disappointment. She should keep her strong political views to herself. She is completely disregarding the Republican fans that put her where she is today. She went over the line by calling Sarah “dumb” today. I could not believe it. Does she think they are stupid for supporting John McCain’s choice. Celebrities should stay out of politics.

What happened to ladies being ladies? Of course you wouldn’t have a show on then would you. I am so disappointed in BW and cannot stand Joy. I’ve always had the utmost respect for Whoopi but now I don’t know.
I cannot watch your show again.
October 1st, 2008 at 5:14 pm
ahhhhh kellie joy can call palin dumb becuase recently she has been giveing dumb answers to questiona and becuase she is being compared to dan quaye who was also seen as dumb and people on boths sides are concerned about her abilities. no it is not nice but it is what it is. do i think palin will do well in the debate ?i have no doubt she will .shoud biden underestimate her ?no way. has she proven her self? absolutly not
joy said nothing about mccain supporters being stupid she just may think palin is ( there is a diff) ok back to celebrating the Eid
and thak rainlillie for the lin on palin and the gaurd

if elizabeth wasn’t completely ignorant, than this may be a fair “battle.” but it’s like they’re trying to talk to a child. i can’t stand it.

to Lajet -
oh absolutely, I agree that creating a satellite office when you are governor only has to create hardship on your staff and the others in Juneau.
October 1st, 2008 at 5:25 pm
NOTIMPRESSED - I noted the same exact thing today. When BW asked EH to SPECIFICALLY list why she felt Gov. Palin was qualified to serve as the V.P. - rather than answering the question her response was “what makes Barack Obama qualified”. With every passing day Elisabeth seems to become more petty & childish.
I also appreciated how BW pointed out how EH ALWAYS defends Palin no matter what.

RE: FDR & the Depression
It is ridiculous to me that the producers of the View have allowed EH to continue making the same error this week by saying that FDR was not President during the Depression.
This is an insult to the intelligence of the View’s audience and needs to be acknowledged and corrected.

The Huffington Post (comments pgs 1-2):
-The funny thing is that when deployed in war the National Guard is specifically NOT under the command of the governor!
-I’m SICK of hearing that Sarah Palin is an “expert” on energy. Why, because a pipeline runs through Alaska? I used to have high-tension wires in a field behind my house, does that make me an expert on energy too?
-McCain has never commanded a brigade or any other ground unit, especially in combat.
-I think she’s just hoping to get to be BFF’s with Sarah so that that she can complete her set of stolen White House silverware. People have betrayed their country for less.
October 1st, 2008 at 6:11 pm
EH has such a narrow point of view and will never admit that she needs to grow, intellectually and as a human being. Sadly she has the bigot-gene and this is blocking her. Barbara Walters tried to explain this to her but I’m afraid Liz will be joining Fox soon enough and is beyond help. The View will be un-blocked and Hassle will be wrapped in Fox-plastic for evermore. Rosie couldn’t stand her, Joy Behar must be developing ulcers keeping her temper in check over her and the mild mannered Whoopi must be wishing for a new panel member…..For a replacement I suggest the magnificent Alexandra Wentworth (Wife of George Stephanopoulos).

10/1 Once again, The View and its “viewpoint” is one-sided. How tiring it is to watch 5 women all talking together and 4 of them saying nothing constructive about a topic as volatile as the election. Why is Elisabeth always interrupted when she voices her opinion on McCain/Palin and told to keep quiet while Ms Whoopi, aka Rosie, spouts off about her “fav” Obama and no one is allowed to interrupt HER. Ms Barbara, your show is going down the tubes, along with YOUR “fav” Ms Joy. Happy sinking.

Of course in this lets all be pc world we are living in now, calling Palin dumb was “over a line.” But was it the truth? If you’ve seen any interviews by her lately (of the what, 3 or 4 she’s blessed us with), you can’t exactly call her smart. She makes people cringe with her answers, they are that bad. She has people in her own party calling for her to drop out and claim “family issues”
As a candidate for Vice President of the United States of America she is indeed dumb.
October 1st, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Yeah, these latest interviews Sarah is holding are really…ummm…BAD!!! She comes off as not very knowledgeable. Even conservatives are calling for her to leave the ticket!
“And so what if Palin made a joke, get over it. At least she doesn’t have a background working with a bunch of corrupt people, like Obama does. “
Ted Stevens,? How about Don Young?
And Sarah Palin is herself corrupt. Firing people that she does not agree with, threatening to ban books in a library and then attempting to get rid of the librarian who indicated she would not be on board with that idea, attempting to get her ex BIL fired even after being told by a judge two years earlier to cease with her witch hunt. She took her personal vendetta out on her exBIL and when she did not get her way, she went after the commissioner. How Bush and Cheney-esque of her! Nasty and vindictive - I see that her and JM would work very well together.

PRIOR POST: marianne
“Wasnt’t this country founded on conservative Christian values?! People need to wake up and realize what is happening to our country is because of us getttin more and more away from those values”
RESPOSNE: Please explain to me how Christian values are different from Jewish values, Muslim values (not Muslim radicals, just like not politically Christiian conservatives, who I don’t think demonstrate what I know of Christian values) Buddhist values?
I’m sure there are distinguishing features between them, but you didn’t say “based on Christianity” but rather, “Christian values”. And as the person above noted, they were revolutionaries who wanted to preserve one’s right to their religiong, not prescribe a certain religion.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:06 pm
speaking of Christian values, since when did Christian values include the nationalizing of religion. As I remember, Jesus was against nationalizing religion. Many people wanted to make him a king. He rejected that role. He never organized a political campaign, or coup, or whatever. I don’t remember any reports of him being political. In fact, when questioned about corrupt taxpayers, he said “Pay under Ceasar what is Ceasar’s.”
That strikes me as someone who is avoiding political issues.
He was a prophet who addressed people’s hearts, not their politics.

Judging by Miss E’s cockyness and smugness, it seems that she must have a huge following……the mind boggles.
To those complaining that she never gets a chance to get her point across cos everyone speaks over her or cuts her off….well BW gave her an opportunity today, and as expected she was her usual smug useless self, twisting it back to the democrats……she had a chance to get her point across, but zilch.
She makes my blood boil, the others may be democrat followers but they will acknowledge good points about all candidates……she is a spoilt little Sarah Palin wannabe…get her off please.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:40 pm
Exactly, Ella.
Well said.

The more Elisabeth supports and defends Palin…the more I dislike Palin…
Elisabeth and Palin its like Dumb and Dumber!
October 1st, 2008 at 8:45 pm
That is so true, EH is a Palin wantabee….and I agree, I cannot stand to watch EH, and like said today, everyone else on the view, speaks yeah or nay to issues, and with EH, I don’t give a ‘d’ what’s said, she’s turns it back around on the democrats, and can she think on her own, talking about cramming, she can qoute everything O said verbatum, but can’t recall any of Palin’s patronizing remarks, EH, please leave before you’re kicked off…we really do not want to see another Star Jones, fiasco…and you go,
Whoopie, EH can’t touch you on her best hair dday, not today, though…
October 1st, 2008 at 9:01 pm
Elizabeth is a narrow and simple minded person. I can’t stand The View anymore. How much stupidity am I too endure???
I am so glad Barbara finally said something.
I am shocked that she has yet to be fired, I mean she disclosed a confidential agreement the show had with a guest. I don’t get it. Enough is enough! Let’s stop dumming up the american people. This moron must not be given a forum.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:10 pm
To all of you who keep whining that Elizabeth never answered Barbara when she asked “what qualifies Sarah Palin to be a good President/VP?” WATCH IT AGAIN… SHE ANSWERS THE QUESTION. Maybe all of you are too worried about putting down the one strong, Republican woman on the show that you forgot to actually listen to her.
October 1st, 2008 at 9:10 pm
You know what I find very curious, is everyone is talking about how Biden should handle himself. What about Palin? She comes across as a real snot sometimes. She made fun of Biden’s age and Obama being a community organizer. She also laughed when some jackass made fun of her opponent on the radio. Did I mention that her opponent was a cancer survivor and the jackass on the radio used the word “cancer” when attacking her?

I loved what you said. Matter of fact, I printed it for some people that need to read it.
I am absentee voting tonight.

Today was final straw for me. I am through with the View. It is frightening to think that there are viewers of the show who could be influenced by the rantings of any one of these women, not one of whom is qualified to be speaking on national television on the subject of a presidential election. They are filled with self-importance, when actually each one’s view is just that: just a view.
Joy is a narrow-minded loudmouth who loves her own voice and jokes. I end up feeling sorry for EH because the others all pounce on her - and I’m neither a McCain-Palin fan nor a Republican. BW needs to hang it up.
October 2nd, 2008 at 12:05 am
eh is a nut case she never sees any wrong with her party i would like to see her and my girls for once finish their little cat fight and when she is giving a chance to make a point she acts like a bitch with a bomb. she’s nuts no ones perfect not even obama? obama 08 oh boy! liz is a crybaby..fruitcake she might be a little racist..think about it.
October 2nd, 2008 at 6:33 am
#105 Rainlillie - I agree w/you. Palin does come across snotty A LOT. Passive/Aggressive? Smile all the while stomping on the other person. She reminds me of “Mean Girls”.
October 2nd, 2008 at 6:55 am
I wish someone would ask her…. at the infamous hour of 3am, who would you like to take that call, Biden or Palin? If someone asked me that question and used a Republican like Schwarzkopf or Obama. I would say Schwarzkopf. I’m pretty certain she wouldn’t be honest.
I trust Obama’s judgment, but unlike McCain, Schwarzkopf actually won a war and didn’t get us stuck in Iraq.
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:44 am
#114 Kleigh: What EH had to say was NOT TRUE. Were you listening? Are you informed?
McCain commanded a brigade – Not True
Palin Energy Expert – Not True (see post #91)
Palin led National Guard during a time of war – Not True (see post #53)
Palin governed – Not very much and not very well (see post #63)
FDR was not Prez during Depression – Not True
Nearly every word EH uttered was NOT TRUE.
The reason she is outnumbered on The View is because she is blatantly wrong and abusive and I congratulate the ladies for not turning a blind eye to such misrepresentations. The conservative Republican Party is dead; as evidenced by your fallen princess. Republican policy, ideology, and ‘morals’ are rejected by the majority of Americans and is amply represented in Bush’s disapproval rating of 70%.
If you are on this site defending EH, feeling sorry for her, congratulating her ineptitude, you need to sit back and rethink the last 8 years of Bush, Hasselbeck, and the recycling of the same old corrupt politicians and question if you are in fact a blind follower. America has not gone to hell because everyone moved away from Christian Conservative Republicanism. America has gone to hell because of the corruption in Christian Conservative Republicanism.

#81 Marianne says “Wasnt’t this country founded on conservative Christian values?!”
As a christian, I would like to point out that what lead people in part to come to this country from the UK was their search for freedom from religious persecution. They were looking for the RIGHT to practice religion as they saw fit. The Christian right in this country has been using politicians to further their own agenda. They have been trying to highjack the country to further their own agenda, thereby discounting the RIGHTS of Americans of other faith bases and those who do not share in any religious belief (yes even that is a RIGHT inthis country). I believe strongly in my RIGHT to practice my faith in the manner in which I see fit and I also believe wholeheartedly that I as a christian have NO RIGHT to force my beliefs on others by going through the back door and legislating faith into law.
October 2nd, 2008 at 9:02 am
I would also point out that EH does not appear to be very christian. It would do her some good to examine the root of her hatred which is so apparent. I think that part of her problem is that she projects her own way of thinking and behaving onto others. she believes others are approaching this very important discussion with a closed mind because she herself does so and that is why she cannot give anyone else the benefit of listening to their opinion with respect. without mocking them. because she only knows one way and can’t imagine that others do not do the same.

Please stop! This show is getting horrible. ALL of the women on the view have no expertise in speaking in depth politically. They all annoy me now and have lost me as a viewer(not that that matters). I’m not even a McCain fan either, I agree with Lindsey above that (Joy is a narrow-minded loudmouth who loves her own voice and jokes). Hang it up all of you!!!

I see you haven’t addressed any of the posts noting that EH doesn’t have any of her facts straight. a prime example would be Kelly #21.

#125 ednaegan - Uhhhh … you said practically the exact same words in BOTH posts! What difference does it make which is answered? Besides that, not every post is comment provoking (like this one). And, michele (#127) is right, where’s your participation?
#36 youngermenrock - “Ok i’m old white lower middle-class with a poor boyfriend HA!” LOL What I want to know … is He younger!?!?! Thanks for the chuckle.

do you really thing EH is smarter than ALL of them put together? She never discusses the topic at hand but uses it to segue to slamming obama. that’s why she was caught like a deer in the headlights when she was asked to say something positive about her candidate instead of spewing vile - which is her speciality.
Smart people check their facts - she is wrong more often than not.
she is only popular on the view because the right wing use her as their mouthpiece. She is in no way qualified to be a political commentator (um, clearly) so once she is on a Fox show she will tank because she is of no use to the right in their own field. Those people are all writers or journalists - she is just a talking head that can’t think on her feet.

Did Rush or Hannity tell you not to read the Huffington Post?
What else do they censor for you? Do you really believe blocking out critical thinking is un-American? Shouldn’t you have partial knowledge of that which you condemn?
I read and watch right-wing news media so I can make an informed decision. I have heard more of Rush, and read more of FOX then I care to. But I do. I once ran a newspaper or two.
HuffPo is a great news source, although not unbiased.
Don’t you ever insinuate again, that Lajet, rainlillie or I are un-American. What you don’t know about our Patriotism is A LOT. Your ignorance is ugly and overbearing

Gotta love Kelly’s posts! Waves to Kelly! You are smart and very_entertaining, to me at least!
You Go, Girl!!!

McCain and Palin both have shown they don’t just run with the Republican crowd. It’s amazing that you can be so dismissive with Palin, as she has gone against the establishment in Alaska and from her own party and kicked their butts! Just because she hasn’t been able to answer questions about Bush and McCain and their policies, that Cheney couldn’t have answered about Bush, or Gore about Clinton, or Quail about Bush 41, etc., doesn’t disqualify her. If only Obama had been grilled like she has, we might know and understand why he has made the bad decisions about who he works, worships and associates with that are so anti-American, and anti good in many instances. He also has an EXTREMELY WEAK resume! You say McCain has voted 90% of the time with Bush, Obama has voted “present”, or “no stand”, a majority of that time. We definitely don’t need a willy nilly leader of the free world that doesn’t know what he stands for
October 2nd, 2008 at 2:59 pm
#45-Went back but can’t figure out what your question was. I have been an independent since Barry Goldwater ran for Pres. and I voted for him! I always vote for the candidate, not the party! If you were really honest, you would admit that McCain is a grandstander and loose cannon and Palin is an uneducated, unimformed, little read, politician. All of you right wing psuedo Christians spout the same rhectoric. The big shots in the Repub. party must be pulling their hair out trying to put a good spin on this underqualified VP candidate!
October 2nd, 2008 at 3:14 pm
Also regarding Palin, if were she were an abortion mongering atheist, the liberals would love her and her credentials just fine! The fact that she is smart, attractive, has strong Christian values, and actually lives by them, just sends the left into orbit!! Heaven forbid that we might potentially have a President that would actually invoke God for guidance on leading this great country!! That was only good enough for our founding fathers, but now we are so educated and self sufficient, we realize that we don’t want a God to get into the way of our free-wheeling carnal lives, and the secular progressives and liberals are hell bent on convincing us that he doesn’t even exist! According to them we are supposed to be so politically correct in not offending anyone, that we are not to stand up for anything that is good and right! It is so predictable, history shows the cycle happening over and over and over again. So no, I don’t agree with you about Palin’s incompetence. She is extremely bright, will learn extremely fast what she needs to know, and wouldn’t have a problem asking for divine guidance either. And to me, that is refreshing and most reassuring of all!
October 2nd, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Wow. Kelly, I come here just to check your comments. You are indeed well informed and your comments are greatly appreciated. Go Girl!!
October 2nd, 2008 at 5:54 pm
There has been a waitress who mentioned about Sarah Palin’s comment about Barack Obama winning the Democratic presidential nomination. She was having lunch at the restaurant and is quoted by this waitress as saying, “SO SAMBO BEAT THE BITCH”. Sambo? How Christian is that? If this is true, the once again we see what a phony she is. The waitress gave her first name only which is reported to be ‘Lucille’. Would not surprise me at all if this is true. Not at all.
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:03 pm
#39 I don’t believe that for one minute. It’s more proof that you librals have to lie and make things up because you can’t debate the real issues at hand. GROW UP!!!
October 3rd, 2008 at 8:53 am
How dare you conservative ‘born again’ psuedo ‘Christians’ catagorize all non Repubs as heathens! Your uncharitable, pious viewpoints remind me of the pharisee’s in the bible. They conspired to put Jesus to death because of his ‘liberal’ views.

Paige – this one’s for you. Calm down sweetie – everything’s going to be alright.
LA TIMES
Die-hard liberals and conservatives aren’t made; they’re born. It’s literally in their DNA.
That’s the implication of a study by a group of researchers who wanted to see if there was a biological basis for people’s political attitudes.
They found to their surprise that opinions on such contentious subjects as gun control, pacifism and capital punishment are strongly associated with physiological traits that are probably present at birth.
The key is the differing levels of fear that people naturally feel.
The researchers, whose findings were published today in the journal Science, looked at 46 people who fell into two camps — liberals who supported foreign aid, immigration, pacifism and gun control; and conservatives who advocated defense spending, capital punishment, patriotism and the Iraq war.
In an initial experiment, subjects were shown a series of images that included a bloody face, maggots in a wound and a spider on a frightened face. A device measured the electrical conductance of their skin, a physiological reaction that indicates fear.
In a second experiment, researchers measured eye blinks — another indicator of fear — as subjects responded to sudden blasts of noise.
People with strongly conservative views were three times more fearful than staunch liberals after the effects of gender, age, income and education were factored out.
Kevin B. Smith, a political science professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a study author, said conservatives were more vigilant to environmental threats, and he speculated that this innate tendency led them to support policies that protect the social order.
Fowler said the study added to the growing research suggesting that over millions of years, humans have developed two cognitive styles — conservative and liberal. Cautious conservatives prevented societies from taking undue risks, while more flexible liberals fostered cooperation.
“For the species to survive, you need both,” he said.

Kelly, that’s what they do. The “you liberals” responses are supposed to be a one-stop categorization and a put down, but IMO it makes them look silly and whiney and shows they cannot back up their fatuous accusations.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:41 am
Paige, first of all you don’t know if this is fact or fiction. I did mention that it was a waitress who may have said this about Obama. Thus, clearly making this hear say…not PROOF or FACT. After what we all have dealt with over the past 8 years and have seen recently, you are the last person to call someone liars and feeling compelled to “make things up”.
Don’t talk about the speck you see in someone else’s eye without acknowledging the PLANK in your own. “You liberals”? You blind repugs don’t debate the issues. Instead you, you cry sexism or distract from the issue by attacking the opposite side. Not debating the issues? You can honestly throw that towards the Dems AND support Palin? Hypocrite!

I am not a Born Again. I am a Cristian however. And instead of attacking me why don’t you use your intellect to debate the isssue.

Yes, but John McCain is hardly George Bush! He certainly hasn’t been a big cheerleader for Bush, and has gone against him on many issues, and the only reason that all of our treasure and lost lives in Iraq weren’t for nothing is because McCain stood up against Bush, and demanded the surge. It was obvious from the debate who understands the world and will best keep us safe on that front.

Is that the best you can do? spout of some riduclous RHECTORIC about Political DNA. We all have the DNA of the Light of Christ in us. My parents where hard core Dems. I thought you had or have a Radio show, you can do better than that. Stick with the issues. Just like the liberal Media here we go again.
That’s a big part of the problem, CNN & the View are the great distorters of truth. They are owned and manipulated to show only the agenda of their owners who are liberal and secular progressive which equals Godless! We must have balanced news where journalistic ethics are at least attempted, and you won’t find them there. I gave up on CNN years ago. Traveling outside the country you would get a whole different coverage of the news from what we got here, was my first clue. Try FOX, it’s not perfect, but by far the best thing we have going right now. They have both liberals and conservatives on all the time. I don’t want my news tainted by the likes of George Soros and his cronies. It never hurts to hear both sides when forming opinions

I am the only one back it up honey. I don’t here any facts coming your way.

First of all, I am not your honey.
What facts are you backing up?
Why are you looking to “here” from me???

What are you on this blog for?
October 3rd, 2008 at 4:59 pm
Paige,
Stop dodging and address my earlier query.
What facts are you backing up?
Why are you looking to “here” from me???

I wish I had a little more energy – I have SO much to say to Paige.
I’m not sure how a scientific study that has never been quoted became rhetoric.
I’m not sure why you missed the whole Fear=Conservativism=Paige.
I don’t know why you don’t understand the surge (we’ve been over this).
I can’t believe you think McCain is not Bush-like (90% vote record).
I have a radio show? Am I any good?
I would stick with the issues but you really need to start with a remedial class.
Try FOX news for balanced coverage? LOL! Fox is the industry joke.
I’ve been all over Europe and North America and the rest of the world doesn’t understand you, so how are we supposed to.
We are not Godless, we are not driving away God. On the contrary, we are driving away evildoers and their unholy vessels that spout off things like, “…if were she were an abortion mongering atheist, the liberals would love her.” Oh yeah. Nice. There is definitely some sort of ‘light’ bouncing off of you.
