The View October 25th Recap: Julianne Moore, Dancing with the Stars

by

julianne-moore.jpgSamantha Harris, Dancing with the Stars host and E! News correspondent appeared as guest host on The View today. She just had a baby one month ago, a daughter called Joceyln Sidney (not sure if that is the spelling). She has to be away from the baby for 36 hours, so she had to “pump and dump” her breast milk on airplane. Joy said that when her daughter was an infant, Joy would lactate when the baby cried, even if she was out of the state.

Joy said that Dancing with the Stars has a curse on it, naming off some of the things that have gone wrong with stars of the show: Marie Osmond passed out, Jennie Garth tripped, Jane Seymour’s mother died, Sara Evans had marital problems, Jennifer Lopez (who guest performed this week) had her grandmother die.

Samantha said that she believes that the show gives people a great career boost. She said that Marie did not fake passing out and that Marie has fainted on TV before. Marie blamed it on allergies and the smoke from the fires. Samantha mentioned that Marie Osmond has a series of videos with Dancing with the Stars scenes acted out with dolls. Check it out here if you are interested. They are pretty cute.

Sherri would be worried about being on Dancing with the Stars, because she would topple over.

Whoopi said that she is usually in bed by the time SWTS is on because she has to get up early for her radio show. Joy said that speaking of sleeping, Dick Cheney fell asleep at a meeting yesterday, captured by CNN. Whoopi said that he could be meditating. Joy said that he is exhausted thinking of all the countries that he wants to invade. Whoopi said that she did not like that Joy put her in the same sentence as Dick Cheney and that she did not sleep with Dick Cheney. Whoopi joked that if he “cracked this” he wouldn’t go back.

Barack Obama is under fire for campaigning with a man who claims to be an “ex-gay” who thinks that homosexuality is a choice. The man also said that what people do in their own bedroom is not anyone’s business.

Sherri morphed the conversation back into a rehash of the integrity of people in office/cheating on your spouse/hypocrisy argument. Sherri pointed out, “I always bring it back to cheating.” (At least she is self-aware)

Britney Spears is attending parenting classes. Whoopi was confused and said that she thought Britney was teaching the class. Samantha said that you can teach people skills to make the baby to be more cooperative. Sherri said that you can teach someone parenting skills, but you cannot teach her to be a mother. Joy said that at least she will learn not to drive with the baby on her lap. Whoopi said that she had to learn to be a good parent and how to love her daughter when she became a mom at age 18. She said that Britney needs to be taught that there is no “one way” to parent and to have confidence. Joy said that if you had a bad mother, then you need to learn more how to be a good mother. Sherri said that she was scared when she first brought Jeffrey home from the hospital (after he was hospitalized for three months) because she didn’t know what to do with him and did not like him.

Sherri said that someone should teach Britney to keep her panties on. Whoopi interrupted her and said that just because Britney is a celebrity that doesn’t mean she automatically knows how to do things. (Whoopi apparently wears an IFB, unlike Rosie, because before she went to commercial she mentioned “the woman in my ear” was saying to move on. As an aside, Rosie mentioned in her book that she hated the IFB so much that she thinks it stands for “Inter fucking fearing bureaucratic bullshit.”)

Men who publicly cry are seen more favorably than women who cry. Joy said that 9/11 may have been the turning point for being accepting of men crying. Joy said that Hillary Clinton cannot cry because she will be seen as weak. Sherri has a “one cry a year” rule with any man she is involved with. She cries all the time, so her man has to be strong and can’t cry often. She said that she would defend a robber if she was home alone, but if she has a man, it is his job to do it. Whoopi said that she needs to know how to beat that burglar’s butt on her own. Whoopi does not depend on anyone to look after her best interests. Joy said it is unfair to put on the man to “be a man” and step up to the plate. Whoopi sternly told Sherri that she is strong and is not a powder-puff woman. Whoopi got so animated in the discussion that she had to start fanning herself with her cards.

Julianne Moore was on the show to promote her new children’s book called Freckleface Strawberry. That was a nickname that she had as a six or seven year old. It was the name of a drink mix and she was mortified at the time by the name. Now she does not think that it was such a bad name.

The character of the book does not like her freckles and Julianne admitted that she does not like her freckles, but learns to accept them. Whoopi said that her daughter is light-skinned and had freckles growing up. Whoopi told her daughter that she (Whoopi) is “one big freckle.” Samantha said that she read her book to her new baby and it was first book she read her. She said that she, too, has freckles. Julianne said that she didn’t notice because she was distracted by Samantha’s boobs.

Julianne said that to be a mother, you have to be a grown-up first and Britney did not have that. She told Sherri that you have to know that you can handle everything on your own and then add a partner, not depend totally on another person from the beginning.

Julianne said the rumor is not true that she is giving up her acting career to be a writer full-time.

Dancing with the Stars cast-offs Mark Cuban and Kym Johnson appeared on the show. They danced their samba routine from this week. Mark said that the reason he wanted to be on the show was because it was something “so outrageous” and going in front of the crowd was the “ultimate rush.” He was shocked by how hard it was and had to rehearse six hours a day. Kym said that the perks with partnering with Mark were that she got to fly on Mark’s jet and attend a Dallas Mavericks game. Mark, the owner of the team, said, “Hopefully we will be pretty good” this season.

Samantha will be back for Friday’s episode (which will be taped Thursday afternoon).

  1. TooTiresome Says:

I used to love to watch the show with Rosie while I slugged it out on the treadmill. But now, they never distract me from the tedium of the gym. Keep Joy and scrap the rest of the cast. I’ve already had enough of Sherri’s “Jesus loves you” to Lance Bass. Give me a break. And we know your husband cheated. Move on. And EH could never think of a thoughtful question to ask a guest - it was the same old, how do you deal with life as a celebrity. Unless she’s gathering quotes for a book, move on, think of a different question. Ugh, the show is so boring now. The only hope is an interesting co-host.

  2. Viva Says:

Wow there’s just no balance. Either Whoopi doesn’t have a pulse on the show or she’s a moral authority and just seems to charge right over someone elses’s view.
I was hoping the woman from yesterday would be co-hosting again. Not a fan of Samantha.
However, she looks good for having a baby one month ago. One month after my baby was born I was still in my pj’s crying everyday. I thought it was funny when Julianne said she was distracted from Samantha’s breasts. I also don’t think I would leave a one month old for 36 hours. Just my view.

  3. May Says:

What happened to the chemistry from yesterday? Didn’t care for Samantha either. She’s lovely enough but “NEXT!”. That’s the beauty of EH being gone…in one door and out the other. Sherri/Whoopie seemed to be enjoying each other today..I didn’t understand what Whoopie said that Sherri laughed at so hard. Must have been a good one. Whoopie is still censoring herself..she almost said “a–” instead of getting the burglar’s “butt”. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

  4. Dee Says:

I tried to watch today, since the idiot has left the show, and I still am not intrigued. Sherri is as bad as the idiot and it is obvious that she is getting on Whoopie’s last nerve. I don’t like that Whoopie has to be told how to moderate the show either, another reason Rosie was gold. I stuck with it until Julianne’s segment was over and then I turned it off.

This show is a waste of broadcasting time, I want Jane Pauley back on my tv.:(

  5. rainlillie Says:

“The woman in my ear” was saying to move on.”

I had no idea the show was that controlled.
I knew they were the ep’s, but I didn’t know they were told when to move on from a topic.

  6. rainlillie Says:

I meant to say I knew they “wore”… Multitasking.

  7. Alice Says:

I liked Whoopi today. Joy is always great. I thought Sherri was ok but I chuckled when I heard her mentioning AGAIN her breasts. That is really getting old. The woman from the DWTS was ok.

rainlillie: Who said “The woman in my ear” was saying to move on? I’m curious because in Rosie’s book she said that by the end of the year(last) that Joy and Elizabeth had taken theirs out. I am just wondering if they are using them again. I saw Barbra with hers in the other day but couldn’t tell on the others.

I had no idea that the show was that controlling either and it really makes it less enjoyable to watch.

  8. Aileen Says:

At first I just watched Whoopie have a look of wtf for the first 10 mins.. then she decided to finally pipe in. Then I was like thank god.. but then she started to jam her views down Sherrys throat. I was surprised. I was also happy when Joy talked about homosexuality and how it was not a choice but was dismayed when Whoopi wanted to end the topic. Geez…. I dont get the chemistry any more. BUT!!! I was glad to see EH not there.. but It kinda leaves Sherry in the lurch without someone to back her up… This may make Sherry look even less informed without someone to back her up whos just speaks a mile a minute and exhausts you into changing subjects… IM JUST SAYING!!! :-P

  9. Real Says:

If Sherri had a breast reduction, she wouldn’t have a conversation lead-in. I guess there is a reason why they are the first things that one sees when she walks into the studio.

Whoopi looked like she was scolding children. I loved how she regurgitated issues that were mostly voiced by EH before (i.e. a person’s abilty to parent when they cheat on a spouse). I guess it is Whoopi’s uninterrupted moment to “clarify” ONCE AGAIN how she felt. Who cares.

Watching these chicks is like watching the movie “Ground Hog Day” or listening to Dustin Hoffman in “Rain Man.” They are repetitive with their views, and it’s like a broken record. Boring tv.

  10. jjb Says:

    for Stacee:

Thank you for your IMO explanation. Makes me feel stupid for not knowing it. LOL.

  11. rainlillie Says:

    Alice,
    It was in Winnie’s recap,

“(Whoopi apparently wears an IFB, unlike Rosie, because before she went to commercial she mentioned “the woman in my ear” was saying to move on.”

That’s one of the reasons I liked Rosie, she was so spontaneous. You never knew where she was going to take the conversation. Sherri should stop with the breast talk. It was funny the first two or three time. Now it’s just old and tired. I’m not familiar with todays guest host. I thought the woman from yesterday did a good job.

  12. Ken Says:

    IMHO,

I agree with the comment about Whoopi charging right over someone else’s view. I do think Whoopi has plenty of smart and sensible things to say and does well playing the devil’s advocate game with Sherri but she doesn’t have to be too overbearing about it. I think on most days she moderates well but it was a little off today.

I’ll be supportive of Sherri and commend her for making some improvements from yesterday’s show IMO, especially by having more of a view today. I appreciate the effort. Sherri did make a comical boob reference today (again….*sigh*) with her statement on if she was a dancer on Dancing with The Stars, but it wasn’t too excessive. But I do think it is time to move away from the boob talk altogether for a while and get other punchlines. I’ll give her some praise and say she is a solid MC and a really nice interviewer.

I think Joy is really great, I loved her on the show for years. I admire her for being so sharp coupled with her ‘seasoned-ness’ to be so well informed to make really ingenious statements and opinions. (I could definitely see why many enjoyed Rosie and Joy on the show last year – they had great chemistry and are very smart women, although I think Whoopi/Joy is good - Rosie/Joy’s chemistry is better)

I do have to admit though, way way back in “The View” early years, I used to think Joy was a bit bravado in appearance, but she is just a naturally funny and very conscious woman. I liked her Larry King Live interview and think she did a great job substituting for him last Friday. Gotta love Joy! She’ll also be on Martha tomorrow. Yay!

  13. Tara Says:

I think on Live TV, most hosts do wear an IFB, and that was the kind of time to use it–Whoopi was getting all heated up, and didn’t realize it was time to take a commercial break. So “the woman in her ear telling her to move it along” is exactly what they are for. (Maybe if RO and EH had worn them, they wouldn’t both have looked like arses in May!)
I don’t for a minute think that the producers tell them WHAT to say–it’s just for little commands like that. In the past, I remember if someone was relaying some news and couldn’t recall a person’s name or a program or some other info, they would be told it in their ears. So I don’t think having an IFB is any big deal. Every single news anchor, from local to national, wears one. You have to be able to get their attention when you do live broadcasts.

I thought Sherri looked 20 pounds lighter and 5 cup sizes smaller in that top she wore today. Shows how important the right clothes are. The style and the color helped her look more in proportion. She has fairly thin legs, so it minimized her bust (’boobies’) and stomach and flaunted her legs.

  14. Sandy Says:

I also am supportive of Sherri, she has her good days,..along with some bad… Don’t we all? To be fair Joy has been doing this a lot longer than Whoopi and Sherri.
Actually I agree with Ken’s assessment of all the host, regular host.
I agree though that today’s show didn’t seem to flow as well as yesterday’s.
I had to agree with Julianne’s assessment of Britney and parenting.

  15. rainlillie Says:

From the recap is sounds as if the woman in Whoopi’s ear was telling her to go on to another subject.

Rosie did say that EH was briefed about the topics, I’m not sure if she meant before or during the show.

I never thought Rosie made an ass out of herself. I thought she was being real and showing real emotion. Besides that, the producers could have cut to a commercial, but they chose not to.
I like Sherri better in sitcoms than I do as a host.

  16. Dee Says:

I agree with your whole post rainlillie. I also feel that Rosie was a natural moderator, as was Meredith, but I don’t think Whoopie is all that comfortable nor adept at playing the moderator role. I imagine she is finding it way different than being a host of a radio show.

As for Sherri, I like her on sitcoms but not on a talk show panel. I don’t have to agree with her views but it is her lack of depth that turns me off. She makes EH look smart!

  17. Tara Says:

Rainlillie said: “From the recap is sounds as if the woman in Whoopi’s ear was telling her to go on to another subject.”

Well, I WATCHED the show, and I’m telling you they went to commercial…

  18. Stacee Says:

I thought today Whoopi was really railing on Sherri. Don’t get me wrong; I agreed with a lot of what WG said, just not how she went about it. I also thought her bringing up Sherri’s divorce was a little bit of a low blow. It made me uncomfortable. Sherri handled it okay, I guess.

I caught the ‘Move on’ comment (via IFB). I’m sure the producers did not appreciate her saying it to us though, lol. But really, at that point it was time to move on.

It was nice to see some passion back on the show again, though.

  19. Sandy Says:

I also was able to watch today, and my impression was that the comment via IFB was to let Whoopi know that it was past time to go to commercial. Although at the time she was very engaged in expressing her view to Sherri.
Likewise I’m not sure that I believe that the producers tell them what to, and what not to say.
Yes I too remember Rosie saying that E.H. was briefed by BG. I felt that was before the show, concerning some of the Hot Topics.

  20. rainlillie Says:

    Tara,
I’m sorry…What part of “sounds as if” didn’t you understand? I never said that this is what took place. I was going by Winnie’s recap.

“because before she went to commercial she mentioned “the woman in my ear” was saying to move on.”
I wasn’t sure if she meant move on to another topic or if she meant take a break.

  21. rainlillie Says:

    Stacee,

“I thought today Whoopi was really railing on Sherri.”

    About what?

Why did Whoopi bring up Sherri’s divorce?

  22. Stacee Says:

rainlillie, I am trying to remember…

I recall one occasion had to do with a comment Sherri made regarding politicians not having integrity because what they do in their bedroom (ya know, a reference to Bill Clinton). Whoopi’s point was a person having an affair does not affect their parenting or being able to lead a country.
Another was when Sherri made the comment about her man better beat a burglar up - saying a man should protect the woman. Whoopi’s point was protect yourself and what’s wrong with the woman beating up the burglar.
I felt maybe Whoopi was trying to say Sherri has the capability of protecting herself and to not depend on a man.

I just felt like Whoopi was really after Sherri today.

I can’t remember now why and in what context the divorce comment came into play.

  23. Tara Says:

IIRC, the divorce comment was brought up when Whoopi was saying just because a president cheats doesn’t mean he can’t be a good president, and similarly, just because a spouse cheats, doesn’t mean he/she can’t be a good parent (the ol’ EH argument). So then Whoopi said something to the affect that that would be like someone saying just because you (SS) are divorced, you can’t be a good stand-up comic….

At another point, Whoopi said something like “Just because your man left you…”–I thought that was particularly insensitive.

  24. Meredith Says:

Sherri lives in the dinosaur age. To say a man can only cry once a year in her book is so sexist and stereotypically ridiculous. To say it is the man’s job to be the protector is old school (people really can protect each other.) To still think being gay is a choice in 2007 is living in the dark ages. And to equate a persons’ sexual indiscretion in their personal life to mean they have no integrity in their work life is simply not appreciating the complexity of human beings. She’s as tiresome and predictable as EH, but she’s funnier so that counts for something. The boob thing is getting old. And she squeezes herself into outfits that are so tight she looks like a sausage.

  25. Real Says:

” And she squeezes herself into outfits that are so tight she looks like a sausage.”

LMAO Meredith that’s funny and so true.

  26. rainlillie Says:

“To still think being gay is a choice in 2007 is living in the dark ages.”

    I totally agree.

“At another point, Whoopi said something like “Just because your man left you…”–I thought that was particularly insensitive.”

    That was very insensitive.

  27. Peaches Says:

I LOVED (triple-loved, as Rosie would say) Whoopi, Joy, & Sherri today in the hot topic about being a strong woman. Three perspectives by three women of different generations. Which is maybe what The View initially was all about: different perspectives. Two of them agreed pretty much with each other, but so what. Not every topic is going to be divided into three precise views. Sherri was able to take up for herself just fine. And I thought Joy’s point about how unfair it is to make the man bear the brunt was good. I didn’t agree with anything that Sherri said, but I didn’t mind hearing her retro views about male and female roles because (1) she wasn’t spouting right-wing talking points the way EH does, she was speaking from the heart, and) (2) Whoopi spoke up to counter them. It seemed like a real conversation or debate, for once. Though I actually would have been interested to know what EH’s take on it would be,I’m glad she wasn’t there because she doesn’t know how to jump in without butting in, chirping and chirping and chirping almost hysterically.

About the ear-piece thing, I was glad Whoopi told the audience she was being prompted. I like knowing what’s going on behind the scenes. I still haven’t read Rosie’s book yet but assume that if those earpieces were so innocent, she wouldn’t have been so opposed to them.

Can someone tell me when or where it was disclosed that BG coached EH on the hot topics? I guess I’ve forgotten about it. Yikes. Explains a lot.

  28. Viva Says:

Peaches I don’t know if it was said anywhere else but Rosie mentioned it on her blog. Someone asked her a question and she answered that EH gets briefed/prompted by an ep (later said Bill Geddie I believe). I can’t remember how the exchange happened or the wording because it was shortly after “the fight”. I think she archives the q’s so if you have the time you can probably go back through them and find it.

  29. Winnie McCarthy Says:

I found it. May 19th on Rosie’s “ask ro” section:
    Linda
Also — Does Elizabeth get briefed to defend Bush the way she did the other day. I do not think she is bright enough to defend the indefensible.

    i think so
    by the ep

    Then on May 20th:
    dona writes:

does everyone get briefed by the ep or just EH?
Was disappointed to know about that. Seems less real somehow…….

    just her

  30. Peaches Says:

Thanks, Viva. And thanks, Winnie. I don’t remember reading that on Rosie’s blog at all. Wow. That is SO annoying to realize. (Will he start “advising” Sherri, I wonder?) Though I have often envisioned Sean Hannity texting EH with ideas for talking points….

I posted a response to Viva, but before Winnie’s post, and after I posted it, a screen popped up that told me I was posting too fast, and I should slow down. Huh? How weird is that?

I had posted something else a few minutes earlier on the Joy and Martha section, and that one didn’t show up at all. I’ll try again because I have a link to an interview I found with Joy and thought maybe everyone would like to read it…. Here it is:
    http://www.mediabistro.com/articles/cache/a9919.asp

  31. Tara Says:

For what it’s worth, beware the source on this info–this was from Rosie, after being hurt and humiliated on the show. And we know she never got along with BG, since he was relegated to the back after 9 years of being up front and center. So personally, I don’t really believe it.

  32. Viva Says:

Tara, To me it seems like such a silly thing to lie about. We have no way of knowing the q’s so she could have not answered. Yes she was hurt but if you know anything at all about Rosie she is genuine. What you see is what you get. And if you read her blog she’s as honest as they come. Not all people can say that. Also if you know anything about EH and if you watch her on the view, can you really say you don’t believe she’s being briefed? My friends and I thought it long before Rosie said it.

  33. Tara Says:

Viva, what would be the reason to “coach” EH? This is supposed to be a show about individual Views?

  34. Julie Says:

““The woman in my ear” was saying to move on.”

I had no idea the show was that controlled.
I knew they were the ep’s, but I didn’t know they were told when to move on from a topic.”

Rainlillie, I bet she wasn’t supposed to mention that… How much trouble do you think she got in for her slip-up? I’m betting a lot. Maybe it’s the earpiece that’s been throwing Whoopi’s moderating off so bad.

  35. Julie Says:

“And she squeezes herself into outfits that are so tight she looks like a sausage.”

LOL, you know she hasn’t been able to take a breath since she started the show. How can she keep bragging about the size of her chest when everywhere else is just as big? Without the iron girdle that is.

  36. Dee Says:

I often thought something was up when EH would not be able to respond coherently and then say say she needed to do more research. After reading how Geddes snarked on Star Jones at a party after she left and then remembering how he humiliated a future summer intern on air, I think the guy is the caliber of Faux News and this is just the type of thing he would enjoy.

Rosie responded to a question when she answered this ep question, she would have alluded to it if she wasn’t sure, as that is her style.

  37. Stacee Says:

    I agree, Dee.
Rosie does not mince words. She says what she means. Sometimes I am surprised that she does not ‘reel it it’ since people use whatever she says to attack her. I don’t think this is a case of sour grapes. She is actually pretty complimentary towards the View; if people ask she says she will watch, she was complimentary and encouraging of Whoopi when she got the moderator position and has stated she is in communication with EH and plans to make the new baby a gift.

I don’t for one minute believe she said what she did out of spite. I believe her.

As to why just EH? Maybe tptb agreed and supported what she said but felt she needed extra help in articulating her points.

  38. Viva Says:

    #32 Tara
Viva, what would be the reason to “coach” EH? This is supposed to be a show about individual Views?

I don’t know what the reason is behind the “coaching”. IMO it just isn’t something I see Rosie lying about.

  39. Dee Says:

EH was in need of coaching, as she became highly emotional and screechy in trying to pitch her rightwing views.

I noticed a definite difference when Rosie came on the scene and everyone predicted that EH would be chewed up and spit out by Rosie. Geddes would have been derelict if he didn’t start coaching her to be able to sit at the table with the grown-ups, especially after the August crying jag on Bab’s lap. He couldn’t afford another episode like that with Rosie. I imagine he is quite proud of his work at this time.

  40. ChicaDificil Says:

“Sherri lives in the dinosaur age. To say a man can only cry once a year in her book is so sexist and stereotypically ridiculous.

I am glad to see that someone else was outraged by this comment. I realized before from Sherri’s comments about evolution and the world being flat that she was not very informed, but statements like the one above also show me that it’s not just schooling that she lacks, Sherri is an idiot. It doesn’t surprise me that Sherri doesn’t have better luck with men. She looks down on well-rounded sensitive men and seeks out macho stereotypes who will later cheat on her. If a man made a statement equivalent to Sherri’s (i.e., women should stick to nurturing and leave the debates and hard decisions to their man), more women would be up in arms about it.

I actually find Sherri to be much more annoying than EH. It’s obvious that Sherri’s cutesy and silly act is a cover for her intellectual ineptitude.

  41. jess Says:

ChicaDifici: I couldn’t have said it better myself. I think you are spot on with your analysis of Sherri. Quite frankly, as a woman and an African American, I am truly embarassed by her presence on the show.

At least I can look forward to Whoopi.

  42. Elsie Says:

One of the hotter guests…(oops, Sorry Stacee!) might have been that Samantha(?)girl, but the baby talk went on a little too far. Joy did a good job changing subject while on the subject of breastfeeding (”Let’s talk about DWTS!”)Sherri has security issues and uses her boobs to ease them, IMO. I think the show is a little bit better when BW is on. Again, IMO. Everyone is entitled to their own.

  43. rainlillie Says:

    I also agree with Dee.

EH got really cocky after the right wing parrots on Faux News went after Rosie. It’s funny how Rosie would say something and EH would say so you’re saying our troops are terrorists.

The very same night Faux news lead story would be “Rosie called the troops terrorists.”
It’s Faux News style to ask a question as if it’s factually. They’ll say anything as long as it has a question mark after it.

This is one reason why I can’t stand EH. She is very cunning and she did Faux’s dirty work for them.

Remember during the big blow up, Rosie said something like you’ve been my friend since September. You know I don’t think the troops are terrorists.

Yes she was briefed by the right wing parrots and Gedde. How can a low level talk show host be invited to a White House dinner? I don’t even think BW was invited.

EH’s claim to fame is her fight with Rosie. She’ll milk that for as long as she can.

  44. rainlillie Says:

I could be wrong, but didn’t Rosie mention the ear piece on the show once? If I befriended someone at my job and another group said terrible things about me, and that friend continued to hang out with that crowd without speaking up… I would be pissed too.

So Rosie had a right to be pissed. All of the buffoons on Faux were attacking Rosie. Then EH announces that she’s going to appear on Faux. That really was a slap in Rosie’s face.

  45. Dee Says:

“I actually find Sherri to be much more annoying than EH. It’s obvious that Sherri’s cutesy and silly act is a cover for her intellectual ineptitude.”

I can’t help but think that Sherri’s addition to the show was to beef up EH’s q quotient. They had so many intelligent, well educated, young minorities hosting since Star left and yet none of them made the team. Now EH is looking smarter because she is next to Sherri, manipulation much?

I don’t get why Rosie would have felt “humiliated.” She hasn’t been quoted as saying that she felt that way, has she? I hope she doesn’t feel that way. She has NO reason to. I assumed she was hurt that EH didn’t stick up for her. They both would have reason to be embarrassed that the fight got so heated on camera. Though Rosie wasn’t the one yelling and waving her arms and redfaced; as we all know, she didn’t even step into the discussion between Joy & EH until later, and she didn’t raise her voice.

As for BG being relegated to the back instead of sitting up front, he would have been part of that decision since he is one of the EPs. Maybe he didn’t like not being on camera anymore, playing the bossy man monitoring the women, but he’s not back in his former role sitting up front, is he? (Or is he? I don’t know.) If it was all Rosie’s fault that he didn’t get to sit up front, then why isn’t he back on camera not that she is gone?

Others here have stated it well as to why BG would want to coach EH. I think Dee’s assessment is right on. It may be a show about different “views” but it is still a show that has to do well, get good ratings, and, as we’ve seen, avoid being criticized by the right-wing “press,” so he would be highly motivated to make sure EH could rapidly spit out talking points. And don’t forget that EH started out as a regular person, a non-celebrity who happened to be a right-winger. But she turned into a spokesperson of sorts for the right-wing Bushies; she has become famous (and thanks in part to Rosie, as was pointed out) and a “brand” in a way. She needs to keep on spouting those talking points reflexively whenever a topic comes up, and BG is more than happy to help her out.

I don’t believe for even a second that Rosie lied on her blog about EH being coached.

Neither do I, besides that I believe she said that before the big blow up.
