The View October 29th and View-related links

by

The October 29th, 2008, recap of The View will not be up. Feel free to comment here about today’s episode.

Today’s scheduled guests are: Blair Underwood and Natalie Zea (ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money); Pink performs; Joy Behar in the fifth anniversary celebration of Broadway’s Wicked.

Also, here are some View-related links for today:
The UK’s Guardian writes “How the View Got into Politics.”

Jezebel has their take on Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s latest interview with Sean Hannity (complete with very unflattering still frame shot). Thanks to berndoubt for the link.

Time has a summary of an interview of Elisabeth Hasselbeck that Barbara Walters did on her SIRIUS radio show. In the interview, she talks more about Sarah Palin’s clothing and calls Barack Obama’s 30-minute special to air on Wednesday “repulsive.” Thanks to susieq for the link.

If you like Rachel Maddow and would like to see her on The View, be sure to sign our Get Rachel Maddow to Be a Guest on The View Petition. You don’t have to donate to the website to sign the petition (although it may suggest otherwise).

I love Pink! I think I found good use for all of that unused duct tape…I wish TLB would shut her trap about Obama’s ad. No one is forcing her to watch it. It’s not like he’s spending the money on clothes. Also he NEVER promised McCain a darn thing. An agreement was NEVER reached.

  2. Kelly Says:

JOY – If you make $250M you’re OKAY! LOL – I feel so much better!!!!

Why didn’t EH complain during the Bush campaign when the Republicans outspent the Democrats?

I think it’s interesting that EH would say she’s to the point she just doesn’t care anymore…after stumping for Palin all weekend. I mean McCain.

PINK – please make a Stupid Girls part two video…Where are all the Bush-Republicans?

  3. June Says:

Pink was great! Hot Topics = Wash, Rinse, Repeat yet again!

  4. Sasha Says:

Look Look Look. I swear to god if EH keeps saying “Look” before each stupid statement she makes I’m going to puke. It has been bothering me for a while how much she does that.

And then last night I was skipping channels and came across her boyfriend Hannity talking to Mccain and what did he keep saying? He would say “look” right before bashing Obama. Each time!

I know it’s a stupid little thing to comment on, but it just shows how much of a sheep EH really is, and how she cannot think for herself. She cannot even think of her own words and phrases to use, so she has to copy what her “leaders” say.

I’m so sick of her now it’s just sad. Her facial gestures and pauses when she was speaking at the Palin thing were just ridiculous. She is trying to put off this air of “told you so” whenever she is defending the right, with her little raised eyebrow and glare. It’s just pathetic.

  5. diane Says:

Chill, Rainlillie! I LOVE Pink and duct tape just like you do! My upbringing, however, would never allow me to refer to anyone as “TLB.” I thought Elisabeth was perfect today…played her freedom of speech card early re: Obama’s ad and moved on. See? We don’t have to agree. You can use your freedom of speech card to voice your opinion without name calling. Try it. I think you’ll like it.

  6. Roger from Ohio Says:

    #1 rainlillie–

No one is forcing her to watch it.

She could watch ABC instead. They just reported that the 30 min ad isnt going to be on ABC “a schedule conflict”

Also he NEVER promised McCain a darn thing. An agreement was NEVER reached.

What they refuse to say is Obama is using public funds…. he just isnt using government funds. Obama isnt using lobbyist money, Obama isnt using PAC money, Obama isnt using corporate money

McCain cant say the same thing.

  7. Roger from Ohio Says:

Did u all catch when Joy said “Elisabeth and I are lesbian lovers” well she said that for my benefit. She will try anything to turn me on….. what a gal!!

keep up the good work Joy

  8. susieq Says:

Good for Whoopie for explaining to Elisabeth that Obama is using his campaign funds to CAMPAIGN…Maybe if the McCain camp hadn’t spent money on those robocalls they would have funds to spend on primetime ads.

Obama is spending money to talk to the American public directly on what he stands for and what he hopes to do if elected President. McCain on the other hand spent millions on automated phone calls spreading rumors and innuendo about his opponent.

Maybe Elisabeth is “repulsed” about the ad buy because she’s afraid people might actually listen and decide to vote for Obama.

  9. Rachel Anna Says:

    # 2 Kelly -

“Stupid Girls” part deux starring LDV! I love it. There could be scenes with her rolling around in bed with Klannity, torturing soldiers, and speaking to an audience of ten in an ugly green coat. LOVE IT!

  10. Michaela Says:

So ABC thinks that airing “Pushing Daisies” is more important than airing Barack’s ad? What? That’s their “schedule conflict”??? Wow.

  11. Rachel Anna Says:

ABC is owned by Disney. Does that explain it?

  12. kaytee Says:

Is it me, or is hot topics getting shorter and shorter? I guess I kind of like the cat fighting. Anyway, I love to see them doing things outside of the view, so I enjoyed seeing Joy being a diva!

  13. Vickie Says:

    #11 Rachel Anna

“ABC is owned by Disney. Does that explain it?” What does that mean?

  14. Stacee Says:

Michaela, ABC took too long to make decision about ad buy. By the time they finally decided, the Obama/Diden campaign had already finalized the ad buy and declined ABC’s offer.

  15. Julia Says:

It cracked me up when EH said that she didn’t like the ads because it was just Obama speaking and no one could ask him questions…..well do we get to ask questions to the robocalls when they invade our phone lines, the great thing about tv is the power to turn it off or turn the channel, but I will bet that she will be watching with Hannity and her pen and paper to take notes to question everything tomorrow. I think that Whoopi has totally had it with her and when she went to break EH was still talking. Oh I think that EH missed a great opportunity today to state that another reality star just endorsed McCAin…….good old Joe the Plumber!

  16. Lopez Says:

Barack didn’t want his ad on ABC. He instead chose CNN.

CNN is the organization who declined to show the sponsored ad.

  17. Linda Says:

I agree, #10 Michaela. Even FOX is running the ad, for pity’s sake.

I don’t understand why they’re coddling Elisabeth, allowing her to behave the way she does, talk over everyone else, spew her hate-mongering “dangerous” vitriol tell millions of people that she would love to work on Fox for Sean Hannity — how much crap is Walters going to take from her?

Unless, it’s all just Geddie’s agenda. It’s interesting how Whoopi has to cut to commercial every time someone on the panel is about to confuse EH with factual information.

  18. Lopez Says:

    #14 - good info I didn’t know.

  19. Jane Says:

Oh my gosh, I’m starting to watch the view now and right off the bat EH starts. This is sad. Just once I would like for her to stand back and let it go. Just once! Its like she is McCain’s advertisement.

  20. Stacee Says:

    susieq Says:
“Good for Whoopie for explaining to Elisabeth that Obama is using his campaign funds to CAMPAIGN…Maybe if the McCain camp hadn’t spent money on those robocalls they would have funds to spend on primetime ads.”

    MY RESPONSE: Right on Whoopie!
And I agree; perhaps if McCain had not spent his money on the robocalls, he’d be able to compete instead of complain.

  21. susieq Says:

#10, Maybe ABC doesn’t want to appear to be part of the “media elite”.

#12, Everytime the HT’s start to get good they cut to commercial…We are less than a week from election day…Anyone willing to place odds on which path of attack Elisabeth will take? Ayers, Rev. Wright?

  22. Stacee Says:

    Sasha Says:
“Look Look Look.

Each time!”

MY RESPONSE: I am not suprised. Bits has become a parrot to Sean’s pIRATE act. Right down to the squacks and shrieks.

  23. Stacee Says:

    susieq Says:
“Anyone willing to place odds on which path of attack Elisabeth will take? Ayers, Rev. Wright?”

MY RESPONSE: susieq, you forgot Rezko!!!

  24. Julia Says:

susieq… I am sure EH is planning something for her “October surprise” she will not let these last few days go by without campaigning for free for McCain! I was thinking that she might not even be there on Tuesday because she was probably invited to Arizona to be with McCain/Palin. She will nedd to be comforted that evening!

  25. kaytee Says:

I think EH is parroting primetime cable news shows, because I heard that very statement last night on one of those shows about “Obama’s $250,000 figure being lowered to 200,000 then 150,000″. And this is not the first time she has gotten her talking points from them. Joy and the other girls need to watch some Keith and Racheal and come on there and give her an earful!

  26. susieq Says:

Stacee, I didn’t forget Rezko, he just doesn’t seem to get the same play as the other two.

I really think her new bone to gnaw on will be ACORN and voter registration fraud.

  27. diane Says:

She might even mention Penny Pritzker with the Chicago area Superior Bank.

  28. lynn c Says:

Thank goodness Whoopie went to break and cut off EH’s squeaking. I think the panel has been subdued since the “Drink Obama’s Kool-aid” bit EH pulled. She was about to meltdown and that show was ugly to watch. It will be interesting to see how much The View will cover politics once this election is over…..please, tell me it will be over! I have voted, my choice has been made, the ballot cast. I am DONE and don’t think anything EH says can change a viewer’s mind at this late date, if indeed she could ever sway anyone with half a brain……….she says she would like to work for Hannity, let her go. The View offers women a forum for debate and exchange but until EH is gone or until she is forced to take a college class in debating and public speaking, the show will remain flawed. She is just plain annoying to listen to no matter what she is saying.

  29. June Says:

    Susieq

Well if she listens to the news, she will bring up Khalidi, another one of Obama’s professor friends. It’s old news, but seems to be in the headlines now.

  30. Stacee Says:

I hope Bits also mentions that McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.

  31. Stacee Says:

    #26 - susieq,
True. By the way, I lol’ed at the “bone to gnaw” comment. Very appropriate, lol :-D

  32. carolyn Says:

This woman should dress as “Bride of Hannity” for Halloween. She is sulking and close to tears when she discusses all the unfair things Obama is doing. Obama signed a paper along with all the other 50 (or more) early candidates that said he would “consider” public financing. He never looked McCain in the eye about it, McCain wasn’t even the Republican candidate then and Obama was still in primary battles. I dont believe that someone still so young has stupidly painted herself into a corner which will effect her future so much. She will be unemployable except for Fox and Pat Robertson. Looks isn’t making it for her anymore, she has gotten as ugly as her rhetoric.

  33. Vickie Says:

    #27 Diane

    Who is Penny Pritzker?

  34. rainlillie Says:

How can anyone buy any of the crap TLB is spewing. She sat there with her overly glossed lips closed, when Pink talked about Bush. Wasn’t she just defending Bush a few months back? She is such a fraud. Maybe McCain would have money to spend on ads if he didn’t spend so much on his make up.

  35. rainlillie Says:

John McCain spent $5,500 on make up. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/24/mccains-5000-makeup-will_n_128973.html

  36. rainlillie Says:

“Why didn’t EH complain during the Bush campaign when the Republicans outspent the Democrats? ”

    Kelly,
She didn’t complain, because like her idol Palin, she’s a fraud!

  37. Stacee Says:

    Rainlillie Says:
“Wasn’t she just defending Bush a few months back?”

MY RESPONSE: Yes. In fact, she is now trying to tout how much McCain “went against Bush”. Funny, because for the past 7 years she cheerleaded everything Bush did.

  38. diane Says:

EH might also bring up that the Heritage Foundation asked Obama to immediately pull two ads from tonight’s 30 minute spot that misrepresent the views of Heritage’s Rea Hederman. Seems the ad releases false information there and on the website. The reporter’s summary is erroneous (imagine that!)
Mr. Hederman quite clearly states that he feels Obama’s tax plan would be bad not only for the country but for the middle class.

  39. kaytee Says:

    carolyn,
thanks for clearing that up for me. i kept trying to remember a time when Obama looked McCain in the eye promising him ANYTHING.

And yes I do agree that if McCain had not spent so much on Palin’s new image (clothes, makeup, hair stylist) he would have had money to spend on a lenghty ad. And EH would be the first to praise the ad, and wouuld probably be on it!

  40. rainlillie Says:

    Yeah Stacee,
The whole republican party have thrown GWB under the bus. Did you see the tire tracks on his head, during his last press conference.

  41. rainlillie Says:

Rachel snagged an interview with Obama. It will air on her show on Thursday.

  42. rainlillie Says:

Maybe they’ll bring up what Obama did when he was in second grade. Perhaps he forgot to say thank you to the lunch lady.

  43. Stacee Says:

    rainlillie Says:
“Maybe they’ll bring up what Obama did when he was in second grade. Perhaps he forgot to say thank you to the lunch lady. ”

    MY RESPONSE: LOL!!!

  44. my2cents Says:

LOOK…..Obama says “look” all the time, right before he starts to not answer a direct question.
Obamas all over, everywhere you look, I’m wondering if this might backfire on him. With this 30 minute commerical, and having his own station on satelite. It creeps me out a lil’

  45. Stacee Says:

    rainlillie Says:
“Rachel snagged an interview with Obama. It will air on her show on Thursday.”

Excellent! I will be watching :-D

  46. Stacee Says:

My FRIEND, McCain says MY FRIEND all the time, right before he starts evading and attempting to be condescending.
McCain complains all the time, tries to incite fear and stirs diivision. It creeps me out a lil’

  47. Pat Says:

    diane #38
Maybe she could bring up the LA Times video that is being suppressed where BO is at a Rashid Khalidi dinner where there was Jew-bashing going on…oh, and Bill Ayres was also there…(probably sitting at the same table with BO) No wonder they don’t want to release it.
Or….maybe Farrakhan who says “the Messiah is absolutely speaking” when talking about BO.
No way would I vote for someone where there is so much unknown about him. He was right when he said he “chose his friends carefully”. You don’t sit in a church for 20 years and not know anti-American crap was being preached…..I have a bridge to sell ya if you believe that baloney.

  48. kaytee Says:

Oh, it made me want to laugh out loud when EH said that she doesn’t like the ads because no one could ask him questions. Isn’t that what they want for Palin? Anytime someone asks her questions, its the questioner’s fault somehow that Palin looks….ridiculous. It cracks me up now when she does interviews with McCain holding her hand. Its like he’s biting his tongue the whole time she is speaking!

  49. Pat Says:

When BO starts off his speeches with “let me be clear….” Well I sure wish he would be clear!

  50. Danielle Says:

    #41 rainlillie-

I was hoping someone mentioned that. How awesome, Rachel has been on the air for what, oh one month and she snagged an interview with Obama. I’m so proud of her!

People are starting to realize that being intelligent is a family value to some people. I wish the Bush/McCain people would stop telling our children that basically it’s ok to be ignorant. Yesterday, when Dreyfuss was on and spoke about civics not being taught in many of our public schools around the country, I was jumping up and down I was so happy he talked about that. Poor EH could not stand it- she couldn’t speak a vowel if she wanted to.

  51. Pat Says:

I think BO better start holding Biden’s neck when he starts to speak so he can gag him.

  52. diane Says:

#23 Penny Pritzker serves as both the finance chairwoman overseeing Obama’s fundraising as well as one of his “bundlers” who has pledged to personally raise between $200,000 and $500,000 for him. (sometimes rich people come in handy). Superior Bank/ Penny Pritzker advocated subprime mortgages even as the bank was failing. Now she is Obama’s finance chairwoman. Google it…if you care to.

  53. Pat Says:

diane #52…if it’s not on Huffpo, then “it is not written”.

  54. rainlillie Says:

Maybe someone could bring up Palin’s hubby belonging to the AIP. Or Bring up McCain’s role in the Keating Five or Cindy McCain using the five finger discount to get drugs. Oh the list goes on and on…. Here’s an ad for the Obama campaign. If John McCain won’t keep his word to his first wife, how can he be trusted to keep his word to the country?
Too bad Sherri or Joy didn’t ask TLB why McCain broke the promises he made to his first wife.

  55. Stacee Says:

Yes “Jew bashing” …just like you posted that a McCain supporter was attacked by a black Obama supporter. I wish I had offered that bridge to sell anyone that believed that baloney.

  56. Pat Says:

oh yes….MSM has brought up all that on Mccain/Palin…over and over…but MSM is scared to bring up all the stuff they have on BO, because they don’t want to stop that tingle down their legs.

  57. rainlillie Says:

“I wish I had offered that bridge to sell anyone that believed that baloney.”

    LMAO!!

  58. rainlillie Says:

The Klumps are in the house!

  59. Stacee Says:

    Pat Says:
“I think BO better start holding Biden’s neck when he starts to speak so he can gag him.”

LOL! Or McCain can call Palin a c*nt when she starts speaking off her Mavericky script.

  60. rainlillie Says:

“LOL! Or McCain can call Palin a c*nt when she starts speaking off her Mavericky script.”

    ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  61. my2cents Says:

Pat # 47 Your absolutely right.

And McCain should bring this up and yes it will evoke fear, as it should. We have the right to know his past, we have the right to question it, and we have the right be told and by McCain. And Obama should be HONEST with us. It’s so Shady what is going on.
I have relative that worked on the White house staff for a few years, and knowing the background check he had to go through, Obama would never have passed it.

  62. Pat Says:

Big trouble in Ohio brewing for the illegal computer use of looking into Joe the Plumber…now he can sue them…and there are lawyers in line to represent him…Go get them Joe!

  63. Stacee Says:

    Pat Says:

“oh yes….MSM has brought up all that on Mccain/Palin…over and over…but MSM is scared to bring up all the stuff they have on BO, because they don’t want to stop that tingle down their legs.”

And the MSM Fox has beat the stories you mentioned about Obama with a stick, over and over, ad nauseum. Tingle tingle.

  64. Stacee Says:

“I have relative that worked on the White house staff for a few years, and knowing the background check he had to go through, Obama would never have passed it.”

Nope, because they do not do background checks on Senators. He would not have had to pass security clearances for the DOJ or Secret Service. Nope.
Grasping for more straws! …

  65. Pat Says:

You betcha…and they should over and over…people need to hear about who they could be electing as our President.

  66. rainlillie Says:

“And the MSM Fox has beat the stories you mentioned about Obama with a stick, over and over, ad nauseum. Tingle tingle.”

    So true.

  67. Vickie Says:

    Thanks Diane.

    Amazing stuff.

  68. Sasha Says:

Yeah Obama says “look” too, which makes it more annoying that Eh says it. Like she is pretending to be a politician herself….lame.

I’ve said it before. TLB dreams of having a political position. That is why she is basically publicly blowing John Mccain. In her sad little mind she probably thinks he will give her a position if he wins. It sounds silly….but she IS a silly woman..

  69. rainlillie Says:

“Nope, because they do not do background checks on Senators. He would not have had to pass security clearances for the DOJ or Secret Service. Nope.
    Grasping for more straws!”

    Stacee,
    You’re on fire… LOL!

  70. Pat Says:

Rush is great today…wow….that guy knows what he’s talking about.

  71. diane Says:

EH might also bring up that if SP’s medical records are important then perhaps we must insist on Obama to disclose who paid for his Harvard education since there is no record of a loan; in fact we cannot see his records from prep school, Occidental College, Columbia University or Harvard. What was his thesis? Was he born in Hawaii or Kenya? Did he become an Indonesian citizen? If so, he would have had to give up his U. S. citizenship. Was he naturalized as a U. S. citizen when he returned to Hawaii from Indonesia? This would pertain directly to his security clearance requirements which will require that the original documents be produced. So far, we don’t have those.

  72. kaytee Says:

McCain is much older than Obama and lot can be brought out about him that isn’t this time around. But Bush had a field’s day with it. Obama has too much integrity for that. But if McCain wants to go down the “past” road, he had better be careful. This is a man who voted against the Martin Luther King holiday, cheated on his wife with the current Mrs. McCain, and has some spiritual advisors of his own that are very questionable. Not to mention Ms. Palin’s spirtiual advisor the witch doctor and Mr. Palin’s affiliation with the AIP!

  73. Pat Says:

    Notorious Obamedia moments of 2008

What a great article from Michelle Malkin’s website…How truth can hurt BO.

  74. rainlillie Says:

I have to wonder about people who listen to an admitted drug abuser and think everything he says is gospel. Sad very sad.

  75. my2cents Says:

    Stacee #64
your right! It’s pretty backwards that the people that hold the higher power can have a tainted and have a clearly questionble past AND present. And yet their staff cannot.

  76. Pat Says:

    #71..great again diane…

    but “let me be clear…..”

  77. Pat Says:

you must be talking about BO…remember his drug habit….thanks for reminding me rain…

  78. kaytee Says:

Those documents have been provided and proved authentic. Could you imagine if there were any doubt? Please, the Rove machine would be all over it!

  79. rainlillie Says:

“This is a man who voted against the Martin Luther King holiday, cheated on his wife with the current Mrs. McCain, and has some spiritual advisors of his own that are very questionable. Not to mention Ms. Palin’s spirtiual advisor the witch doctor and Mr. Palin’s affiliation with the AIP!”

    Well said!

  80. diane Says:

And one more thing to ponder..that is, if EH will bring up that in 2006 McCain and other Republican senators sent a letter to the Senate majority leader urging passage of a bill that would have reined in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and possibly reduce the economic crises we are now in. Why didn’t Obama support this effort? Perhaps it is because he is one of the biggest recipients of campaign contributions from these organizations. Yes, she could bring that up.

  81. Sasha Says:

Oh and BTW, Joe the Plumber made a remark where he is agreeing that “a vote for Obama means the death of Isreal”.

How can they honestly take this Moron seriously? It just goes to show how gullible and stupid most conservatives are. Put some idiot in front of them, tell them they are special or that they are heroes, and every one of them will believe it.

If I were Mccain I would be kicking myself for constantly mentioning that guys name every 5 seconds and praising him like he is the greatest American to ever live.

Disgusting comment. It’s right up there with the crazy old lady who said BO was an Arab..ignorant

  82. Vickie Says:

    #74 Like Obama?

  83. Stacee Says:

I think we should be able to comb through McCain’s medical records including his test results and any and all prescriptions he’s taken, past present and future,, his military records, the official reports on the planes he crashed his school records including his grades from K through military school, his divorce papers, the unsealed copies of the record regarding his wife’s theft of prescription drugs, his grocery bills and what brand and size undies he wears (ok the last part I was kidding about, lol ;-) )

  84. rainlillie Says:

“Those documents have been provided and proved authentic. Could you imagine if there were any doubt? Please, the Rove machine would be all over it!”

They get their facts from the same place TLB gets hers. Be careful of the sibyls posting here.

  85. kaytee Says:

Exactly Stacee. I mean “we need to know who we are voting for”!

  86. rainlillie Says:

    Stacee,
I’d rather not picture that. LOL!

  87. Stacee Says:

    Sasha Says:
“Oh and BTW, Joe the Plumber made a remark where he is agreeing that “a vote for Obama means the death of Isreal”.”

MY RESPONSE: I agree. And when asked to explain his reason for saying that, Joe couldn’t. He just repeats talking points without thought. Even Shepard Smith seemed to think what JtP was saying was unbelievable.

  88. Pat Says:

where have you been Stacee…they have already done all that..just like the 30+ people they sent to Alaska to dig up stuff on Palin…no luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, let’s do the same with BO…oh that’s right…it’s all hidden…we will never know anything about this man until it’s too late and he owns us all.

  89. Pat Says:

It was a Jewish man that made that remark to Joe the Plumber…because her feels this and several of his friends were agreeing with him….I think it has something to do with the video they won’t release…and the more they don’t release it, the more guilty he is.

  90. diane Says:

Probably wouldn’t hurt now to mention that in 1995 the radical leftist Mr. Ayers selected Barack Obama as chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge on “Excellence in Education.” His 1995-2000 tenure proved remarkably UNsuccessful. When he can’t fix the school system in his home base, what does he plan for the country?

    “Ad Executive” experience

  91. rainlillie Says:

    Stacee,
I agree about Joe the fake plumber.

  92. Stacee Says:

    Pat Says:
“where have you been Stacee…they have already done all that..just like the 30+ people they sent to Alaska to dig up stuff on Palin…no luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

The same place YOU’VE been. You think McCain does not have opposition research to find things? Don’t you think they would have found something? You think they are that inept? It’s because there is nothing there. Not in Chicago or Kenya or whatever bat crazy place you people think of…no luck!!!!!!!!

  93. Kelly Says:

Who Let the Klumps Out! (woof, woof, woof-woof)

McCain wouldn’t have had to worry about sending out insincere CYA letters re: Fannie/Freddie that never amounted to ‘boo’ IF he hadn’t deregulated them in the first place…Woof, woof, woof-woof!

  94. rainlillie Says:

    Stacee,
it’s all desperation. They don’t have jack! Now they are trying to throw things against the wall to see what sticks. The polls show people aren’t buying it. Lets put the GOP and the right-wing parrots out of their misery. VOTE!

  95. Stacee Says:

Secondly, you have no idea what your talking about. Reverend Write is not anti-American. But you probably got that from watching Fox.

BTW–the only people who hate socialism are the ones that are rich and selfish and wouldn’t share their immense wealth if their life depended on it.

What is so freaking wrong with helping others?? Why is it such a crime to be compassionate and generous? My father grew up in a communist country (a poor one at that) and at least he never paid a cent for college and if he was sick and needed surgery he wasn’t turned away simply because he had no money or health insurance.

People! This country will never be a communist nation. Everyone is so scared of the C word for that to happen. But there is nothing wrong with a little bit of it’s practices occurring in America. This country has become so greedy, money hungry, and celebrity obsessed while their kids are zombied out in front of the TV. It’s time for many of us to get a wake up call and realize life is too short to be so viciously selfish….it doesn’t hurt to help the person next to you who may not have been born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Or those who didn’t have parents who pushed them toward the American Dream. It’s time to show the world what America is really supposed to be about.

  123. diane Says:

Being a realist, the truth is that no one can know how accurate the polls are in this election. This election cannot be measured by previous elections. We have democrats who will not admit that they are not voting for Obama. We have republicans who won’t admit that they are voting for Obama. We have a large number of “undecideds” who can’t vote for a radical change in our government…not now…not when the economy is in a mess. They can’t trust this far left liberal “change.” It’s too risky. People need to remember September 11th. Lastly, unfortunately, you have to consider the race percentage. Even though many of us don’t like that..fact is, it exists, we don’t know the percentages on Tuesday. We have African American voters voting for Obama just because he is black. You can compare that to women voting for Hillary because she is a woman. Then you have a percentage of voters who are just plain tired of having directions on items written in spanish. You have to factor in the wild cards in this election and the polls can’t possibly sort through all of them. It’s a virtual impossibility. Anyone who believes that this isn’t a “close tight race” needs to check their pulse. We don’t really know Obama. We know all about McCain. We know WHO he is, what he did and what he didn’t do. If Obama wins on Tuesday, you can bet America better get ready for one of Obama’s buddies to run in 2012 as his vice president. Then what? God Bless America and let’s not let go of the American Dream and the constitution.

  124. Stacee Says:

Too bad those Hillary supporters are not voting for Palin because she is a woman. Bummer :-(

Personally, I don’t think we really know WHO McCain is. His behavior has been erratic and all over the place. He does not seem to be even tempered at all. In fact he looks angry. He’s condescending and has threatened to fight another member of his party. Another party member has been quoted as saying McCain being president “sends a cold chill up my spine”. YIKES! I think he has hid his personality well, and people are now starting to see another side of him.

  127. Kelly Says:

#122…this is the rhetoric CoulterRushMalkin and others are spreading to cover-up/confuse the switched-vote GOP voter fraud effect.

The polls stopped being accurate the day the GOP started rigging elections.

Read more here from Robert F. Kennedy, Jr:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-f-kennedy-jr-and-greg-palast/drinking-the-acorn-koolai_b_138390.html

“The GOP is ginning up hysteria about non-existent vote fraud by Democrats in order to distract the press from its own campaign to disenfranchise millions of American voters.

The Republicans have created an obstacle course of barriers designed to suppress the vote, purge tens of thousands of Democratic voters from voting rolls, create mayhem and delay at voting venues on Election Day, and stop millions of votes from being counted this election cycle.

…White House operatives are still fighting to purge these names from the rolls. President George Bush last week personally asked his Attorney General Mike Mukasey to renew Republican efforts to disenfranchise these voters.

Contrary to Mr. McCain’s assertions, the real threat to democracy is from the GOP itself. ACORN has served as a good distraction from Republican efforts to steal the vote from hundreds of thousands of legitimate voters, a genuine threat that has received almost no media attention.”

  128. Jane Says:

How can you say you don’t know Obama, but say it’s okay for Palin’s antics not to be questioned.
I could buy it if you said you don’t know enough about both of them. But for it to be not right for us to not know enough about him Obama but OK for us not to vet Palin… something is seriously wrong with that picture.
Especially ..when Palin was added to the Republican ticket with an investigation of suspicion bad conduct as a governor.
Especially ..when her husband has ties to an organization that is an advocate of Alaska not being a part of the US.
Especially.. when she preaches family values but has a daughter that is pregnant, BUT conservatives and others were asking Disney to fired Brittney’s sister (I believe it was) who got pregnant because of ethic issues and the message it would be sending to young girls.
Especially.. when her speeches have incited bad behavior of hate at her rallies and made no apology for it. But had no trouble one speech telling someone in the audience who said something she didn’t like “that her son was overseas fighting to give the heckler a chance to have freedom of speech”. Also telling us we should be a country of one. Not to mention if someone else had spoke in such away in a public setting would have probably been arrested for inciting a riot.
Especially.. when she, herself, during her one on one interviews speaks off the cuff without having complete knowledge of her subjects due to lack of details and preparations, therefore, she continuously puts her foot in her mouth by. Shows extensive lack of foreign/political affairs and has trouble correctly speaking to her talking points, again due to lack knowledge of her subjects.
Especially.. when as a person who has a child of special needs did not even have the forethought to do her homework, to understand what type of testings are being done to help children with special needs and possibly help her own child in the future if successful. She mocked these testings! Not to mention how the people felt that are hoping these testing can help their child.
Especially..when she is starting to fight the McCain and the organization that put her in the position to be the VP and possible president if something was to happen to McCain (heaven forbid).
There is something truly one sided about all of this. McCain has basically picked a running mate who actions so far show to be crooked, deceptive, family issues, little knowledge of what can help her child, lack of foreign affairs, not a team player, and not interested in nobodies agenda but her own.
So why ask the question “is she ready” and “would it not be another Bush theme” if McCain/Palin got in? Like I said something is wrong with this picture.

Bush and Cheney have been trying to shred the Constitution since they took office, and they have succeeded in some instances. I do believe this is a tight race, what I know is we have been living under Republican rule for the past 20 YEARS, the 8 years of Clinton is it, so don’t try to make people think the Democrats have made this whole mess. You are tirelessly wrong. Trickle down economics does not work. I know it’s hard for people like you to understand and if you’re in the top 2 or even 5% in this country, I can see why you would be scared.

People are understanding that the majority of this country are the middle class, and even the working class. We are recognizing that we only have less than 5% of the wealth in this country. That is atrocius. No one will ever get me to believe that paying my fair share of taxes, and a portion of some corporation’s taxes is a good thing. I don’t need anyone to tell me who to vote for. My paychecks for the past 8 years has been telling me who to vote for, because my taxes have gone up every year. What went down you say? My wage. For the first time in my life and I have worked all my life, my wage went down because of the greedy health insurance companies.
Yeah, I know who John McCain is…a wealthy man in Congress for 26 years, that happens to be a Vietnam veteran. Nothing wrong with that, my grandfather was in 3 wars, and he never became the president. And another thing, Hillary Clinton had alot of support from African- Americans, and still does, so yes, you’re comment may be true in some respects, but African Americans had to vote for people that perhaps didn’t like them for years. Women are voting for Palin just because she’s a woman, doesn’t matter that she is staggeringly unqualified- that’s what I mean when I talk about people being ignorant- in case you have not read any of my posts. -crazy witch doctors

    -mismanaged public funds
    -improper reimbursements (for a Maverick)
    -bridges to nowhere
    -extensive renovations
    -earmarks out the wazoo
    -warm polar bears
    -cold (rock-hard) wolves

MY RESPONSE: We’re adults here. If you are not, perhaps you should run and ask your parents to monitor you while surfing this site. If you are of age, feel free to skip past her posts. You can do that, right?

  156. Kelly Says:

My neighbors in Ohio are racists. Not a black face within 40 miles of here. Always been this way. Hopefully – one day, I won’t have to have a ban on the N-word in my house, because they will have stopped using it.

DonnaJ - you are nothing you claim to be - we have you figured out!

I do not think all Ohio Farmers are racist, Elisabeth…but I don’t think you are.

  157. DonnaJ Says:

    #153 Stacee,
I think its more about class. If the language is offensive then do the right thing and be sensitive to your fellow bloggers. Its not a lot to ask.

  158. Stacee Says:

    diane Says:
“I believed America was ready for a woman president and the democrats let Obama run a campaign that was good for Obama but bad for the democrats. Just my opinion..”

MY RESPONSE: I believed America was ready for a Mormon president. I might have crossed over to vote for him. Imagine that! Alas, the Republican party CHOSE McCain. I guess Republicans let McCain run a campaign that was good for him (McCain) but bad for Republicans. And that’s my opinion…

  159. Stacee Says:

    DonnaJ Says:
    #153 Stacee,
“I think its more about class. If the language is offensive then do the right thing and be sensitive to your fellow bloggers. Its not a lot to ask.”

DonnaJ, it’s also not a lot to ask to simply scroll past her posts if you or anyone else finds them so offensive. That’s a classy thing to do as well.

  160. DonnaJ Says:

    Kelly (154)
Please do not lable me as you do your neighbors. You know absolutely nothing about me. And if living in a community of “white people” offends you, then move. I cant understand why you dont like white people, but perhaps it explains your clear hatred of Elizabeth and Sarah and McCain.

You sadden me, because the black race of a different generation suffered terribly as the hands of race discrimination. For you to speak of that on this blog, trying to stir up hatred is just ugly.

  161. Anne Says:

Last post from me. This blog is getting as frustrating and inane as Hot Topics on the view. People are getting away from any real issues and just bashing one another, just like on the View. As a Canadian, and I realize our country has our own problems, however, it makes me very sad to see our American neighbours being so mean spirited, violent and divisive, most of whom claim to be Christians. How many countries and nations have been to war with religion being the root of the problem?
I hope with all my heart that Senator Obama wins on Tuesday because from all I have read and seen, and I am an historical researcher by trade, he seems to be a genuine person who cares for others (not just Americans but the greater world) and I feel Senator McCain has truly lost touch with who he is and who is voters are (not all his fault).
I hope that after this election, as Whoopie likes to say, when the people voice their decision in a democratic way and declare a winner, that Americans get behind the person, regardless of their politics. People have to know that their country is in a mess that needs slow and steady work to fix it. The problems didn’t happen overnight, nor will the solutions. All the attacking and back-biting and indeed, dangerous talk aren’t good for anybody, especially a country in deep crisis both financially and morally. As I said, I’m not a religious person, I was just brought up to treat all people with respect, no matter what colour, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc. I hope for the best for all of you on Tuesday, whatever happens.

  162. Stacee Says:

DonnaJ, when did Kelly say she did not like white people?

  163. Kelly Says:

DonnaJ - we all know you. You’re the one noboby likes to talk to, has to talk over, and is often talked about…like EH.

  164. diane Says:

I’m not worried at all. I will support whoever wins 100% because I am proud to be an American. What I am trying to do is pull some heads out of the sand and away from texting to see that this is serious business. We need to know who we are voting for. Just be aware. Seek the truth. Understand what is going on in America. Putting our fate in the hands of a far left liberal will be the first time Americans have voted to do this. You must ask yourself why we never considered it in the past. And then you need to google for different opinions on why this would not be good for our country especially now that we have a serious threat to our national security. I’m not worried…I’m concerned for America.

  165. marilyn Says:

#21 said: “Anyone willing to place odds on which path of attack Elisabeth will take? Ayers, Rev. Wright?”

EH said , today, that she has Election Fatigue and can’t wait for it to be over. Maybe she will show us all how to design shoes, etc, for the next 5 days. :-)

  166. Kelly Says:

White is all DonnaJ knows…everything else is scary.

  167. Stacee Says:

diane, how about you take your own advice? You have been flinging far right-wing talkingpoins throughout the thread. Maybe it’s YOU that has your head in the sand?

I’m concerned for America too, that’s why I wholeheartedly support Sen. Obama as president. :-)

  168. Beverly Says:

Can we at least pretend to stay on topic? Maybe throw some of the hosts’ initials into each post? (here are mine: WG, JB, WW, EH)

Seriously, has anyone here actually changed sides based on the stuff that’s flying around here?

I love you posters but geez …

  169. Kelly Says:

When my neighbors stop embarrassing other Ohioans, stop harassing Barack Obama, and stop belittling black people just because they’re every wonderful shade of brown, I’ll ease up on them.

I stand up to racism, whether that racist is my neighbor, a farmer, a politician, a co-worker, my friend, or my family. What do you stand up to DonnaJ?

  170. Stacee Says:

    marilyn Says:
“EH said , today, that she has Election Fatigue and can’t wait for it to be over. Maybe she will show us all how to design shoes, etc, for the next 5 days. ”

Only if Sean Hannity says so! lol :-D

  171. Kelly Says:

I’d like to amend #167 and add EH…somewhere.

  172. DonnaJ Says:

    Stacee,
Read #154, Kelly claims that everyone in her community for 40 miles is white and is a racist. She painted a whole community with a dirty brush. Its VERY clear how she feels about the white population.

I dont agree with her views, but her ignorance and racist views of her neighbors has probably esculated her situation. I couldnt live by a neighbor like that.

I would never have to ban the “n” word in my household. It has NEVER EVER been expressed. My children a true americans, they dont see race. They see other friends and team mates. Too bad that Kelly doesnt have that in her home. I hope to heck she isnt raising her children with the view that all white people are racists.

  173. Beverly Says:

    #169 - Thank you Kelly! :)

  174. diane Says:

Sorry Rainlillie…I didn’t know you had a limited vocabulary.

  175. Stacee Says:

    DonnaJ Says:
“Read #154, Kelly claims that everyone in her community for 40 miles is white and is a racist.”

So. That does not mean she hates white people like you stated. She dislikes racists.

  176. Stacee Says:

    diane Says:
“Sorry Rainlillie…I didn’t know you had a limited vocabulary.”

MY RESPONSE: Rain does not have a limited vocabulary. But it is good that you apologized for your error.

  177. red Says:

    @donnaj

i did read Kelly’s post yesterday. Don’t assume that i agreed with it just because i didn’t comment on it. Alot of things are said here that i agree or don’t agree with and i don’t reply for many reasons.

I am also humble enough to say that i don’t know anything about farming or subsidies and other things that Kelly mentioned on her post.

What i do know is that i have alot of respect for farmers because i know they work hard to provide food for everyone.

  178. diane Says:

May God bless each and every one of you and when you wake up tomorrow morning you will have the clear knowledge that everything you say about Elisabeth is a total waste of time.

  179. DonnaJ Says:

So every WHITE person within 40 miles of her house is a RACIST? I dont believe that for a second. She has painted all of them with a dirty brush. Or perhaps she conducted a “poll”.

Two days in a row she has talked to her neighborhood being exclusively white and exclusively racist.

Just because a neighborhood is not supporting the candidate of your choice does not allow anyone to lable them racists.

    Unbelievable!

  180. Stacee Says:

    diane Says:
“May God bless each and every one of you and when you wake up tomorrow morning you will have the clear knowledge that everything you say about Elisabeth is a total waste of time.”

MY RESPONSE: Right back at ya.

    Anne, well done. or said.

  182. Stacee Says:

    DonnaJ Says:
“So every WHITE person within 40 miles of her house is a RACIST? I dont believe that for a second. ”

You said she said she “hates white people”. For you to say that on this blog, trying to stir up hatred is just ugly.

  183. Kelly Says:

    DonnaJ

I think I will borrow your brush and say, EVERYTHING you have said since you appeared on this blog has been negative, hateful, dishonest, twisted, unkind, personal, convoluted, ignorant, sloppy and misdirected.

I think you ARE my neighbor. Tell your husband to stop coming home so late, we’re tired of you.

    EH BW WG SS

  184. DonnaJ Says:

    Red,
I dont know a lot about the farming community either. I do know that running a farm today is different then in past generations. You have to be a good business person in order to make it work.

I also believe that like in any industry you will have good people and others with questionable viewpoints. I dont believe that the farmers of the Ohio neighborhood that Kelly is talking about are all racist rednecks that are recieving questionnable funds from the government.

When my neighbors put additions on thier homes or enjoy a new purchase, we all celbrate with them. We’re happy that things are going well for them.

  185. DonnaJ Says:

    Kelly,
    How very neighborly or you.

Could I borrow a cup of sugar?

  186. susieq Says:

If Elisabeth is suffering from election fatigue then maybe she should stop putting herself smack dab in the middle of it, what with her hosting RNC luncheon, appearing at the Palin rallys, and visiting her soulmates over at Fox News.

On another note, yesterday when they were discussing welfare someone should have mentioned the many military families qualify for food stamps…If Elisabeth is such a supporter of the troops then surely she knows they don’t get paid enough.

  187. Terri Says:

I find it so incredibly frustrating that Elisabeth had to harp on campaign finances when they were discussing the primetime spot. I get that her views differ, but I would have liked to hear the ladies get a chance to really discuss what was going on, what they thought he might cover or should cover, etc. Instead Elisabeth just dominated the discussion yet again with her forceful opinions. I wish they could manage to discuss politics related matters without it turning into yet another opportunity to rally for one side or the other.

  188. Michael Says:

Did anyone catch the words of Whoopi last monday night?

ELISABETH Hasselbeck gets more death threats than anyone else on “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg revealed Monday night at Cooper Union.

    ITA. Enough of DonnaJ.

  190. ShannonP Says:

Usually when I see there are lots of comments, I get excited thinking how fun it will be to read people’s thoughts. Lately I get a feeling of dread! I don’t get why people are bickering back and forth about things when it’s so obvious that the goal isn’t growth or becoming more informed or aware. It’s just a pissing contest at this point.
It’s a good thing I’m not in control of this forum or a couple of you would be gone. It’s like having Elisabeth on this site. Just rant rant rant without any basis to it.

  191. kaytee Says:

“Anyone want to explain why those left of center are more hateful of opposing viewpoints?”
    ummmm
Obama has recieved death threats. arrests have been made. are these threats coming from the left.
And what about the death threats that the conservative columnist recieved just because she did not agree with the Palin pick?
Did they come from the left/
    I think not!

  192. rainlillie Says:

They are losing and they know it. Bush and the republican enablers have been a dark cloud over this country for the last eight years. It’s such a sad, thing to see the republicans jumping ship and turning on each other. Bush is so tainted, McCain doesn’t even want to be seen with him. Even TLB doesn’t defend him anymore. Get out and vote and put these people and the muti- personality posters out of their misery.

  193. Michael Says:

John McCain spent $5,500 on make up.

Obama spent over $5 million on greek columns and stage for the dnc convention.

we should be able to comb through McCain’s medical records including his test results and any and all prescriptions he’s taken, past present and future

The records have been released. Google it.
Why were there no brain scans in the released medical files of biden? Shouldn’t someone that has already had 2 brain aneurysms have a brain can? Or whose those records not released?
Anybody got a link for the released obama medical files? He did release a note from his doctor but no records. From someone that smokes and both parents didn’t make it past the age of 50 his gene pool should be an issue.

the Navy is suppressing documents that McCain was in a serious car crash in ‘64

I followed the liberal biased huffington post link., Strange they had a lot of facts but didn’t name a name or a source. Another trick out of the saul alinsky playbook.

Trickle down economics does not work. I know it’s hard for people like you to understand

How foolish of reagan to give credit to JFK for his policy of lowering taxes to raise tax revenue.

  194. Joey Says:

I’m a Canadian who has sometimes watched The View. I watched it more often when Rosie was on the program, but I also have enjoyed Whoopie and Joy.I saw, like others, EH kick Ro to the curb and push others’ buttons to get her limited view across. Let’s face facts, the problem is that EH is “never ever wrong”. I have found this very boring and I have often been so embarrassed for her that I have changed the channel. It hasn’t really been her politics that bother me, but the way she has represented herself as a female role model. It has appeared that she believes that repeating the same thing over and over and over again makes it true.

  195. rainlillie Says:

    Winnie,
Thanks for the link with the pic of TLB… LOL!

  196. Stacee Says:

    Michael:
“The records have been released. Google it.”

I just did. There are no full medical records released on line, nor do they show any and all his prescriptions, past present and future. Nice try though.

If you would like Biden’s record, by all means request them. Maybe they can put it on “the Google”

I’m thrilled with the amount of money Obama spent on greek columns. That’s why I donated and I am happy he used the funds for it.
Speaking of the DNC - it was FANTASTIC. What a wonderful convention. I loved it!!!

  197. Michael Says:

Obama has recieved death threats. arrests have been made. are these threats coming from the left.

Kaytee, do you have any proof the skinheads were connected to the mcsame campaign?

The good news is, they were caught before the sick people could kill anyone.

death threats that the conservative columnist recieved

So hateful of conservatives you couldn’t even mention her name?

Even TLB doesn’t defend him anymore.

Defend him about what? He can’t run for president anymore, he’s termed out.

It’s a good thing I’m not in control of this forum or a couple of you would be gone

The liberal view of opposing viewpoints. Shut them up. That’s why it’s the democrats that are in favor of the fairness doctrine only for talk radio. If it’s about fairness, shouldn’t the conservative viewpoint be allowed on nbc, abs, cbs, cnn, msnbc?

  198. Stacee Says:

    rainlillie:
“Get out and vote and put these people and the muti- personality posters out of their misery.”

  199. Michael Says:

all his prescriptions, past present and future.

Of course his future prescriptions aren’t online.

I can think of one reason why, can you?

  200. rainlillie Says:

    #41 rainlillie-

“I was hoping someone mentioned that.

Poor EH could not stand it- she couldn’t speak a vowel if she wanted to.”

Rachel brings a lot to the table. Rosie is also a huge fan. It would be cool if she had Rosie on as a guest.

  201. Danielle Says:

Notice how the republican sympathizers can never respond to correct information. Being right is one thing, being accurate is another. Got that from Air America, some of you should listen in you might learn something, and by the way they tell you to research what they say, don’t just take their word for it. Now, I betcha Hannity, O’Reilly, and Rush, and of course Elisabeth don’t want anyone to research what they say everyday, heck no. That means people are reading and msm and other ignorant entities couldn’t have that.

  202. Stacee Says:

Michael says: “So hateful of conservatives you couldn’t even mention her name?:

MY RESPONSE: Wait, where did she say she hated conservative columnists?

Michael Says: “Defend him about what? He can’t run for president anymore, he’s termed out.”

    MY RESPONSE: He’s still president.

  203. Stacee Says:

    Michael Says:
“Of course his future prescriptions aren’t online.

I can think of one reason why, can you?”

MY RESPONSE: So why did you make the suggestion to “google it”.
I can think of a reason why, can you?
    lol

  204. Michael Says:

I’m thrilled with the amount of money Obama spent on greek columns. That’s why I donated

My comment was in response to rainlillie that was expressing umbrage at mcsame spending $5,500 on makeup.

Isn’t america great, you can donate to a politician to build greek columns.

Speaking of donating, feel free to go back to obama’s website and donate more $$. You can bypass the contribution limit by putting in fake names with your credit card numbers. The obama campaign turned off the AVS checking for credit cards.

  205. blu Says:

Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin, what if things were switched around? Would the country’s collective point of view be different? You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?
This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities when there is a color difference.

    Ponder the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama couldn’t read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama’s family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

Education isn’t everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as the U.S.A.’s standing in the world. You make the call:

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

    Educational Background:

    1. Barack Obama:
Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

    2. Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

    vs.

    3. John McCain:
United States Naval Acade my - Class rank: 894 of 899

    4. Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
    Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism

  206. Stacee Says:

Michael: “Isn’t america great, you can donate to a politician to build greek columns.”
    Yep it certainly is! :-D

Michael: “Speaking of donating, feel free to go back to obama’s website and donate more $$. You can bypass the contribution limit by putting in fake names with your credit card numbers. The obama campaign turned off the AVS checking for credit cards.”

MY RESPONSE: Hmmm,I have no need for your silly advice, Michael. I am not at my contribution limit yet. Why would I need to bypass anything?

  207. rainlillie Says:

    Great points, blu.

    Stacee,
McCain needed the make up. So, it was money well spent.

  208. kaytee Says:

    Michael,
first of all i never said that the skinheads were connected to McCain’s campaign. i was responding to the post #85
“Anyone want to explain why those left of center are more hateful of opposing viewpoints?”
I am pretty sure skinheads do no describe themselves as being on the left.

Secondly: the conservatist columnist is Kathleen Parker. and yes, she has said that she recieved death threats after she wrote negaively about Sarah Palin, from her own conservative readers!

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/chi-oped1001parkeroct01,0,3151779.column

Again i was trying to point out that the left is no more than the right!!

  209. kaytee Says:

  210. Michael Says:

**when Dreyfuss was on and spoke about civics not being taught in many of our public schools around the country,**

Of course not, ignorance is the best method of indoctrination, the 10th plank of the communist manifesto.

Considering the education system is education branch of the democrat party one has to wonder why democrats don’t want civics taught. Teacher unions contribute to democrats to keep their power. Democrats are against school vouchers. So simple a caveman can see the connection.

  211. Joey Says:

Please someone…tell EH that repeating the same thing over, and over, and over again, does not make it true. It’s not always her politics that I disagree with but the fact that she is never…ever wrong.

  212. Michael Says:

**I have no need for your silly advice, Michael. I am not at my contribution limit yet. Why would I need to bypass anything?**

Silly advice? I was letting you know that you can easily get around the campaign contribution law on obama’s website.

  213. diane Says:

#134 Danielle Let us please compare “apples to apples.” Obama graduated from Harvard Law School. John McCain graduated from the U S Naval Academy. Sarah Palin graduated from the Univ of Idaho..but poor Joe Biden actually lied about his degrees… We need to keep focused on who is running for President of the United States. You tend to compare Sarah Palin to Barack Obama instead of Obama/McCain.

  214. Stacee Says:

Michael Says: “Silly advice? I was letting you know that you can easily get around the campaign contribution law on obama’s website.”

MY RESPONSE: And I was letting you know I have no interest in your silly advice.

  215. Danielle Says:

No Michael you are wrong, you really needed to watch the show yesterday, because Elisabeth was not at all happy about Dreyfuss talking about civics not being taught. When I was in high school it was required and still is, but I live in Washington state, and we tend to value education, and want people to know how the government is suppose to work.

I don’t know one Democrat that does not want civics taught in schools, as a matter of fact it is the complete opposite. You need to read and stop listening to Rush.

Bush and Cheney (Dreyfuss plays Cheney in the movie W, in case you didn’t know) have completely ignored civics. Dreyfuss was letting people know that’s why the executive branch of our government has all this power now, when they shouldn’t. Now if we’re teaching civics in all our schools people would know that there is suppose to be a balance of power, no one branch should have more control than the other. Looks like you need a civics lesson yourself.

  216. Michael Says:

**Let us please compare “apples to apples.”**

Strange, in the last 2 presidential elections the person with the better education (and higher IQ) was belittled by the left.

Strange, in the last presidential election the left insisted that a war veteran was a better choice than someone that had never been in the service.

  217. kaytee Says:

I don’t think he just comparing Obama to Palin. I think what blu is saying in #201 is that if Obama had the background of either of those candidates he would have been run out of town and we all know it. A black man with a teenage preg daughter or a wife that was supposedly preg when he married her, or a wife with a drug problem, or had he cheated on his wife, or if he had an angry reputation, or graduated at the bottom of his class or any of those things he would not be this close to being president.

  221. Rachel Anna Says:

um… also, in the last two elections, the republican was not better educated. in 2004, both went to Yale. in 2000, Bush went to Yale and Gore went to Harvard. Now we have someone that went to the University of Idaho?

  222. Danielle Says:

    Thank you Rachel Anna-

Ignorance is so widespread you can choke on it. Sad. When you try to make a point with these people it’s just scary. I’m glad I have an education. These people actually think being dumb is a good thing. Who is Michael talking about??? See what I mean.

  223. MiamiVision Says:

#10 and #11 - I read online today that ABC offered Obama time and the Obama people “turned them down” - this was, of course, weeks after he had already made the deal with NBC, CBS, FOX (not the Foxnews channel) but the real FOX channel….

    but I don’t believe all I read online, that’s for sure….

  224. Diane Says:

Enough of the political rants on this site. There are other political websites for that.

Lets dish about Elizabeth Hasselbeck. Geez. I sure cant stand her. If she supports the Iraq war so much - why doesnt her hubby, Tim, enlist ?

    After all Pat Tillman did.

  225. MiamiVision Says:

#16 Lopez - this is true but CNN also said they wouldn’t have run anyone’s ad like that, regardless of which party, and I read that over at CNN…

    have a nice evening *S*

  226. MiamiVision Says:

Interesting that the ladies of the View have never mentioned that McCain’s own Arizona governor, Janet Napolitano, has endorsed Obama.

They just don’t do ANY homework, in my opinion. That info has been out for at least 10 days to 2 weeks. She is the governor of the state the McCain’s live in.

  227. Lopez Says:

    MiamiVision

My post wasn’t meant as a criticism of CNN.

  228. misslingdow Says:

WOW there is a major infestation of annoying gnats!! Perhaps you all need to find out where your “role” models Rush and Cindy get there scripts and get some valium on board.

Instead of ATTEMPTING to create havoc at this nice website, you should follow suit and help your guy campaign. Pass out flyers, make some calls, get behind your guy. With this campaign I know of so many friends and relatives that dedicated every weekend to campaign, to help get people registered, that donated money when they are far from rich because they believe in Obama. You McCainiacs never got off your duff’s to help your guy.

  229. ShannonP Says:

Clean up on aisle 5 please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think one person is using multiple computers and pulling all this crap. When someone has an IP address, does it say what town they are in or just the number?

  230. Rachel Anna Says:

well, we already know that diane is elisabeth hasselbeck… that was a joke :).

  231. Rachel Anna Says:

is it just me (and this isn’t meant to bash her because I could think of soooo many better things) or does anyone else think EH is a little cross-eyed? Has she ever talking about having bad eyesight?

  232. MiamiVision Says:

Lopez - I didn’t think you were criticizing CNN….I just wanted john q. public to know that CNN wasn’t snubbing Obama or anything..

  233. Rachel Anna Says:

I just watched Obama’s ad. It was unbelievable. I have never had so much pride - I cried like a baby. I want this country to do well. If LDV makes any cutting comments about it tomorrow, I’m gonna give her a smackdown. I think she is REPULSIVE (to use her word) on the inside and out.

  234. kaytee Says:

Absolutely beautiful. Makes you proud to be an American!

  235. Rachel Anna Says:

    It really does.

  236. Rachel Anna Says:

    are you ed or edna?

  237. Monica Says:

Please consider renting or buying the DVD…

    “HACKING DEMOCRACY”

It is not only an eye opener it is also upsetting…(but important)…I purchased several copies and have been sending them out to friends….when they are done with the DVD they mail it to the next person etc. etc…..When you see this film I believe you will agree it is worth 81 minutes of our time……

Please…do not discont Diebold and Sequoia voting machines….as apparently it takes approximately 9 seconds to hack into voting machines and less than two minutes to change the tally….leaving NO trail.

I appreciate and thank many of you who have written timely comments….it is my hope that we all have come to realize the importance of doing our homework and also how important it is to come together for the common good of all.

  238. ShannonP Says:

I feel like certain people know when it’s Winnie’s day off and the site isn’t “policed” so they go wild.

I hope this part is put into force soon:

“Please focus your comments on The View. If you want a place to post your beliefs about issues unrelated to the show, please go elsewhere. Multiple violations of this policy may result in a commenter being banned from the site. Commenters who are considered to be a nuisance will not be tolerated.”

  239. ShannonP Says:

Thanks for the suggestion Monica, I just ordered it.

  240. Kelly Says:

“Barack Obama has pulled ahead in enough states to win the 270 electoral votes he needs to gain the White House _ and with states to spare _ according to an Associated Press analysis that shows he is now moving beyond typical Democratic territory to challenge John McCain on historically GOP turf.

Even if McCain sweeps the six states that are too close to call, he still seemingly won’t have enough votes to prevail…”

    Great Job Tonight President Obama!

105, 118, 129 Most Excellent Posts! Stacee, rain, kaytee and Rachel Anna…Obama would be proud!

Monica: Thank-YOU. Finally, someone else warning about Diebold.

Did anyone else see EH do the Palin *wink* today? Sheezh

  241. Stacee Says:

Bits is either clueless or lying. Obabam did not “look McCain in the eye” and say he would not take public funding. And as was mentioned on the show, people gave so he can use the money to CAMPAIGN. If Bits thinks it’s excessive she can be happy in knowing HER money was not used to finance it.

By the way, I think Pink looks fantastic in the picture shown above. I’m still looking for a clip of her performance.

  242. Stacee Says:

(blush) that should have been “Obama”

  243. Rachel Anna Says:

LOL. We’re just gonna ObaBAM the other side!

    Seriously, is EH cross-eyed?

  244. Kelly Says:

Whoa – I meant Post 205, 218, 229. Way TOOOO many gnats gone wild.

I want to sign a Nuisance Petition. Maybe it won’t matter after Nov. 4th!!!!!

Stacee- She’s lying. BTW, thanks for financing the greek columns. Nice touch!

  245. Kelly Says:

Lil’ D, TLB, Bitsy, Bits has one eye lower than the other. I noticed this on Shannon Doherty too - the bad seed of 90210. Coinkidink? Oh, I think not.

Also, #100 marthe, did NOT mean to steal your Dahmer joke. It was all such a blur.

  246. Stacee Says:

    Rachel Anna Says:
“LOL. We’re just gonna ObaBAM the other side!”

    LMBO!!! :-D

  247. Stacee Says:

    Kelly Says:
“Stacee- She’s lying. BTW, thanks for financing the greek columns. Nice touch!”

    LOL! ;-)

  248. marthe Says:

The Greek columns were an example of trickle down spread the wealth. Those columns didn’t put themselves up! It took union workers taking home paychecks from the gig.

The RNC spreads it to neiman Marcus, saks fifth avenue, etc.

McCain’s medical records were released to a select group for a total of 3 hours. Notes were allowed to be taken. A physician stated that there was no organization of the records.

I believe Bitsy wears contacts. Unless she had the eye surgery before Tim did. There is something weird about Shannon Doherty’s face. Actually not that many people have symmetry. I often get distracted watching someone talk on tv, and noticing how often one side of the mouth pulls up higher than the other.

The entertainment shows have been reporting that the Whoopi quote about EH getting death threats is not true.

Don’t forget to get your mammogram!

  249. Sandy Woodward Says:

    Exactly Martha,

    http://extratv.warnerbros.com/2008/10/hasselbecks_life_threatened.php

I don’t believe Whoopi ever said that EH gets death threats.

But “kill him” was shouted at Palin’s rally.

  250. Kelly Says:

    Hi Sandy W. Welcome Back!

  251. Sandy Woodward Says:

    Hi Kelly,

    Thanks.

  252. Carol Says:

Rachel Maddow’s program is free from Itunes every night now - as a podcast. She’s terrific.

  253. Jenny Says:

” I think the panel has been subdued since the “Drink Obama’s Kool-aid” bit EH pulled.”

yeah lynn lets blame it all on EH.

    not.

  254. avantguarde Says:

LOL! I read all the comments and it took me the better part of a half hour. Fantastic comments from Kelly, Red, Rainlillie, Stacee, Kaytee, Cherrycreeper. Monica, I was born and raised in WA. State and yes, the value of education was the best thing about growing up there. The wealth of knowledge: PRICELESS.

There are a lot of freeper trolls here infesting the board. It’s ok, we know you hate to lose and will post baseless fears, lies, and smears because the Republican record is hot garbage. Why run on such a crappy record when you can smear, fear, and lie your way into the White House. Love that Country First.

TLB is a liar and Klannity’s parrot. What a vile and vapid woman. She has no credibility. Obama and McCain never had an agreement with campaign finance. TLB forgot to mention that back in October of last year, McCain violated campaign finance reform by taking out a 1 mill. loan. TLB is nothing more than a high price low information voter spreading ignorance.

  255. avantguarde Says:

BTW, I love Pink and want to buy her cd! Her song “So What” is great for work out music!

  256. diane10 Says:

Looks like we have another Diane on board. Since we do not share the same opinions I’ll change to Diane10.

Obama’s 30 minutes last night was even a let down to me. Even the democratic newspapers played it down. He spent a lot of money to say nothing new.

Joe Biden has been caught several times lying about the degrees he earned. He has “apologized.” Personally, it doesn’t matter to me where someone went to college. What does matter to me in a presidential race is if a candidate has been financed by a group of radicals. We don’t know who paid for Obama’s tuition at Harvard or any of the other schools he attended. Let us not forget that we still don’t know where he was born. Very well may be a last minute issue.

Elisabeth did a marvelous job yesterday asking her questions and moving on. It’s easy to see how she raises so much jealousy among women on this blog. After all, she is the only host on the show going somewhere in the real world.

  257. diane10 Says:

John McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone on a military base. His father was in the military. He is an American citizen.

  258. wendee Says:

Why is the idea of the campaign ad so repulsive? The reason Obama was able to do it was because he had raised a tremendous amount of money from the american people. McCain and Palin are always quoting how they want to hear from us, speak directly to us, because we are what matter. Well, Obama was able to speak directly to us, using money from us. If the GOP ticket had the money, they could do the same thing. Maybe the millionaires and billionaires who support them should chip in some for it then. And maybe, it is a testament to the popularity and ability of Obama to bring people together to support a cause. Isn’t that what we want in a leader?
And in respect to Ayers, Wright, and this new guy, by listening to other peoples views, no matter how crazy and out of whack they are, makes you understand who you are dealing with better. That does not mean you support them, but more importantly try to figure out where they are coming from to dispell it. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.

  259. diane10 Says:

Wendee, believe it or not, I agree with you on one point. I don’t know why Elisabeth felt “repulsive” regarding the ad. He raised the money from his supporters and he spent it on an ad he thought to be valuable to his campaign. There’s nothing wrong with that. The McCain campaign, even if they had the money, would not have considered this to be money well spent.

Lastly, Obama’s association with radicals at an early age, through college, and his church molded his core beliefs. I believe his thesis at Harvard Law will tell the story of how he really feels about America.

  260. Julia Says:

Enjoyed reading everything this morning! I am still relatively new to this and have a question……What is a troll? My kids are geiing a kick out of their computer challenged mother on a blog ( 2 teenagers!) and trying to get hip. Also, why would Whoopi bring up that EH gets the most death threats….did she not a one time state that she does not acknowledge this behavior publicly and that she lets law enforcement officers handle this…..I could be wrong but I though she had said this at one time>
