The View Returns January 7th

by

For those of you who have been missing new episodes of The View, you only have a few more days to wait!

ABC has announced next week’s schedule of all new episodes!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck returns on Monday and they will be having a whole day of hot topics to welcome her back to the table.

What do you think the topics will be that first day? The have missed a lot of big news, so it will be interesting to see if they go back and revisit things that happened while they were on hiatus or if they just skip over it like nothing happened.

Here is the line-up for the entire week:

MONDAY, JAN. 7 – Co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck returns to “The View,” a full hour of “Hot Topics.”

TUESDAY, JAN. 8 – Jo Frost (ABC’s “Supernanny”).

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 9 – Cybill Shepherd and Jennifer Beals (“The L Word”); Montel Williams (author, “Living Well”).

THURSDAY, JAN. 10 – “Hairspray” star Nikki Blonsky (“Queen Size”).

FRIDAY, JAN. 11– Patricia Arquette (“Medium”).

    Hi Winnie, and everyone.
Welcome to a brand New Year, and I hope everyone has a VERY happy and healthy New Year.
I have missed coming and reading and making comments.
I know I don’t share many others views on E.H. coming back,..but I’m happy she is, and look forward to seeing how things are going to go with her this year.
I think that they will probably skip over some of the things that have happened in the last week or so. I hope I’m wrong,..but I don’t think I will be.

  2. Aileen Says:

Ok I will bite… January 7th EH return to the view with a full hour of Hot Topics Agenda….

    - Baby pictures… ohhhh ahhhh ohhhhh ahhhhh.. Blah blah

    - The delivery, OH THE PAIN!!!! Something like.. ‘squeezing something the size of a watermelon out of something the size of a lemon’ blah blah..

    - How Tim and Gracie dealt with the new arrival.. Will hear stories of Gracie fetching the diapers and hiney wipes… blah blah

    - Living in a new City….. (hopefully Hannity & Colmes didn’t have an airing there.. Hehehe)

    - Baby gifts. Who sent them and who didn’t ooopss….. Joy may be in trouble.

    - The surprising calls of congratulations.. I am sure Bill O’ called and asked if she is naming the baby after a GOP candidate or preferably himself. Bill O’Tard Hasslecrack

    - Lack of sleep. Endless tales of phone calls to her party outing illegal immigrant neighbors and watching taped programs of the Falafel Bill O’ Loofing himself due to lack of sleep. BARRRRRRRF

    - Stretch Marks. She will most likely talk of products that help to eliminate the problem shamelessly plugging free products she received and showing her belly as proof . We will at this time encounter stretch marks on our face due to the facial contortions we will display due to the stress of watching this hour of Hot Topics. ( I wish I new what products to use in advance)

    - And finally Baby Weight. I am sure she will emerge thin as before and perform a few poses. Now we will really be angry at ourselves for not sticking with our New Years resolution and quit watching the show when EH came back.

Time to go swallow some Dreft baby detergent for a shorter less painful death than watching this show with EH.

  3. kiki Says:

I’m excited for new episodes and to see how Elizabeth and the new baby are doing

  4. Lisa Too Says:

I’m very excited that Elisabeth will finally be back on the View! I look forward to hearing stories about life with the new baby. I also like to hear what all the ladies did over the holidays.

  5. Vegas Says:

I am looking forward to Mondays show. Elisabeth is going to be fired up, and I know her and Whoopi are going to get into it soon. Elisabeth is not going to allow her to tell her how to talk and when she makes confused faces at Elisabeth whenever she says something she doesn’t agree with, I hope she calls her on it, like when BW asked Whoopi ‘Are you with us?!’ during the Perez Hilton Segment a few weeks ago. Her body language is so distracting and rude all the time. I wonder if Whoopi is going to pull her ‘let me finish’ BS on Elisabeth now. I cannot STAND how she always says that.

  6. Sassy Says:

I also look forward to EH’s return. I prefer the baby discussions to the endless hot flashes ones–we aren’t all menopausal or beyond, though most of that panel is! There is an audience of young moms who watch the show, too!

  7. rainlillie Says:

    Aileen,
I hope you had a happy new year! I’m with you all the way. I think I’m just going to stick to the recaps of the show. We all know how things are going to go as soon as the Ice Princess returns.
I must say, if I were a fan of EH’s and found myself missing her, I’d tune in to Faux News, they have a ton of EH clones on that network. You can watch 24 hours a day. Imagine that Dee & May seeing EH 24 hours a day…I don’t want to get your blood pressure up so I’ll change the subject. Lets look on the bright side, Joy is back!

  8. Sandy Says:

Aileen - :) your comment made me really laugh.

although I know it’s very true that like Sassy said, there are younger moms out there that will enjoy hearing all baby discussions.

  9. May Says:

Rainlillie, As usual I got a good laugh about your latest post: “Imagine that Dee & May seeing EH 24 hours a day”. Can’t think of a worse thing unless remembering all day hangovers way back when after partying. I’ve already adjusted to not watching “The View” since this week I’ve taken to getting my driving chores done whilst the show is on. I refuse to listen to the chirping, listen how cute I can be crud that exudes from that forever false smiling face of EH. Aileen, you hit it right on the button…it’s Kathy Lee all over again. Well Happy New Year!

  10. Aileen Says:

Happy New Years Rain, Sandy, May and Winnie!!! I understand the show has become ol hag discussions of lately.. but I have 3 grand kids and I still dont want to hear about babies!!!! ( I dont know nuttin bout birthin no babies!!) I have babies up to my eye teef and want to hear about intelligent conversations. We have a election unfolding and lots to discuss!! Bhutto was assasinated, Ken Star resurfaces, Halliburton Rape scandal, oh.. and Britney Spears lawyers have fired her.. I’m just sayin……

  11. Dee Says:

I can’t imagine seeing EH 24/7..to quote a famous Bush (Babs Sr) “So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?”

So while I have my View fast going I will be watching this site closely, let the snark begin!

  12. Stacee Says:

    Darn, the vacation is over!

I’m not looking forward to her return either.

  13. Ken Says:

Happy 2008 Everyone! A brand new year!

Well I like Lizzie (maybe mostly because she is really cute to look at - heh!) and I am looking forward to her return. I find her snappy opinions entertaining sometimes.

  14. Marv Says:

Despite the Views of many here, I am looking forward to seeing EH. She is a very positive person, upbeat and cheerful. Best wishes on the birth of her newborn. I’m sorry so many here carry such negative feelings about her, I can’t imagine carrying around such hate in my heart. Life is waaay to short.

  15. rainlillie Says:

Note to self: People who support torture are “very positive… upbeat and cheerful.”

  16. Ken Says:

Nice comment Marv, I agree! :)

  17. Stacee Says:

Marv, please save your feigned pity and pious condescending attitude. I’d find it difficult to believe that you love everyone you have met or seen on tv.

And for the record, I (personally) ‘carry’ nothing in my heart in regards to EH or any other person I happen to dislike. Winnie posts and article about her return on The View and some of us chose to comment on it, both positively and negatively. I fail to see how anyone can construe that because we have a less than stellar opinion of her, we are somehow walking around, always thinking about her. I assure you, I do not.

  18. Aileen Says:

Note to self: Will need more dreft the last batch didnt work and now I am really gonna puke..

  19. May Says:

Next thing you know these males posting on here will do a repeat of the crying, cloying ditso male who is pleading with the world to “please leave Britney alone”..only they’ll sub the name of EH. Glory be! You’d think that men would have more important things to watch on tv than a woman’s show, such as football, wrestling, baseball, going to work, etc. Also in the interview with EH she was worrying about going back to NYC to a “smaller place”..remember when she was complaining about going to AZ? Flip-flop!

  20. rainlillie Says:

    I agree Stacee.
    Aileen, LOL!

  21. Marv Says:

Stacee, yes, you are correct. I do not love everyone I meet or see. Yet, the quality of my life turned around once I stopped judging people. I can’t remember the original quote, but even Rosie reminded us that the terrorists were also mothers/fathers/husbnads/wives. Rosie could see the good in them, isn’t that something for all of us to emulate?

  22. Stacee Says:

‘Yet, the quality of my life turned around once I stopped judging people.’

    Marv,
So, because someone dislikes EH, you question their quality of life. Wouldn’t that, in fact, be judgmental?

  23. Aileen Says:

“Leave Britney Alooooooooone!!!!!!!!!!” Hey I am still rooting for that girl. I hope she gets it together.. it pains me to see her in despair with the world watching and snickering. A woman needs to have a healthy breakdown with out the world watching.. lord knows.. I had one or 2. I am just glad my divorce judge didnt have TMZ to subpoena for evidence. They might of found me nude in the pool.. passed out with wine bottles next to the lounge chairs.. nekkid.. oh.. I hope they didnt get the orgy on the trampoline.. the good ol days when I had an excuse… :-)

  24. Dee Says:

“She is a very positive person, upbeat and cheerful.” per Marv…

That is not the EH that I have seen. Accusing gay partners of perhaps marrying toasters if they get civil unions, being closed minded about any Democrat, judging Pitt and Jolie, not sticking up for a friend on national television and then there are her views on acceptable torture. As for cheerful did you miss the high pitch rants that had her meltdown on Babs lap?

In my Christian world she is not positive, but rather a bigot. I understand that many are like her and for the sake of the universe I pray that their hard hearts soften.

    (Get’s up off my knees):)

  25. rainlillie Says:

“Accusing gay partners of perhaps marrying toasters if they get civil unions.”

That’s unbelievable! When did she say that?

  26. Marv Says:

Dee, maybe her comment about gays and toasters was taalking about the slippery slope of changing the definition of marriage. Back when roe/wade was introduced the slippery slope turned out to be partial birth abortions. When gay marriage becomes legal (and it will in a few years), what will the argument be to not allow marriage to numerous partners?

  27. Dee Says:

I don’t see where the argument of multiple partners has any connection to gays having the right to marry or her ridiculous attempt to tie it to marrying inanimate objects.

As for partial birth abortion, a woman who is carrying a fetus to full term that will not be born alive because of malformations of the brain and who may be suffering from toxemia or some other life threatening problem that may jeopardize her life and her chance to mother her existing children, is a reason for third term termination. It is not a slippery slope when it is happening to your family and it should be a decision between a doctor and patient. The slippery slope is when men decide there is no reason for third term termination as a man can get another wife to raise his kids!

  28. rainlillie Says:

It’s always the same old song! Didn’t we hear that lame a$$ argument when people of different races wanted to marry back in the 60’s? You guys should come up with some new tunes. If you’re against gay marriage, don’t marry a gay person!

Funny, how most of the right wing politicians who are against gay marriage have been married more than once. So much for the sanctity of marriage.

Maybe they enjoyed it so much they had to do it again.
Torture loving Barbie and Merv (AKA…)should stop trying to force their so called “values” on other people.

  29. Sandy Says:

    Aileen,
I really agree with your comment # 23, I also hope that Brit gets it together soon. I have a lot of empathy for her situation.,
I know she is a celebrity,.but I think some times the media goes too far. Such as a young woman can’t even have a breakdown in private.
