The View Schedule March 16th-20th, 2009

by

taye-diggsHere is The View schedule for March 16th-20th, 2009, subject to change. With the exception of liking to look at Taye Diggs, the guests are not too exciting to me.

Monday, March 16th: Day of “Hot Topics”; Jean Chatzky (author, “Why People Are Rich Why People Are Poor”)

Tuesday, March 17th: Gary Sinise (C.S.I. New York); Dr. Drew Pinsky (host, Celebrity Rehab); Jay Mohr (Gary Unmarried)

Wednesday, March 18th: Taye Diggs (ABC’s Private Practice); Valentino (Valentino: The Last Emperor); Ian McShane (Kings)

Thursday, March 19th: Jaime Pressly (I Love You, Man); Troy Dunn (TroyTheLocator.com)

Friday, March 20th: Regis Philbin (co-host, Live with Regis & Kelly); Dennis Haysbert (The Unit); Australian John Rendall and friend Ace Bourke and the heartwarming tale of Christian the Lion, a YouTube clip that has been watched over 29 million times

This show just can’t get good guests anymore can it? Gary Sinise is probably doing a favor for his “good friend” Elisabeth. Taye Diggs is probably fulfilling a contract obligation (who cares why he’s there, let’s just watch and enjoy). Valentino, Barbara’s probably looking for her Spring wardrobe. Drew Pinksy, just another example of the View using guests as a way to humiliate the celebs they’re talking about. Jay Mohr, raise your hand if you watch his sitcom. Anyone, anyone? Ian McShane, let’s hope he swears as much as he did on Deadwood. Jaime Pressly, she’s not even one of the leads in the movie she’s promoting. Troy Dunn, I had to google him. Regis Philbin, even a bigger famewhore than Barbara, and that’s saying ALOT. Which leaves the lion guys. I have seen that video numerous times and I cry every single time. I wonder if Elisabeth will ask them “So did you ever think of shooting it?”

  2. susieq Says:

Oops, forgot Dennis Haysbert. I think it’s a safe bet someone will ask him about being the first (fictional) African American President. Can’t they be original?

  3. Mary Evans Says:

Loved Robin from GMA got the interview with Michele Obama yesterday - must have really pissed BW off, and that is always a good thing to me!

Regis is having Clive Owen, Craig Ferguson,Julia Roberts, Nicolas Cage and Drew Cary on this week.

Just love The View is having trouble booking A listers - they were just in LA and no major film stars came on. Just ABC/Disney promotions and then they say LA people don’t come to NYC enough. Which is hilarioous because they did just have Rob Lowe on and Marcia Cross was in NYC on Martha last week.
Then we get Field and Calista on (which I liked). Point is - they do get to NYC.

    Taye Diggs - Yum!

    BREAKING NEWS!!!

This just in…. Saturday Night Live just did a spoof of The View….. Hot topics from the Disney studios…… It was really good….. Tracy Morgan played Sherri

one of the questions… If you were one of Snow White’s Dwarfs, which one would you be?

    Someone find the video!!!

  6. Mary Evans Says:

I remember him from Will and Grace, he was great!

  7. Roger from Ohio Says:

    Mary–

I remember him from Will and Grace, he was great!

I dont remember him on Will and Grace, He used to be a regular on SNL and is now on 30 Rock.

  8. gonnavent Says:

    Mary Evans-

I forgot that he was on Will and Grace until you mentioned it! I also liked the show Kevin Hill that he stared in - but it only lasted for a couple of episodes. I was so upset!

  9. gonnavent Says:

    “he” meaning Taye Diggs! :-)

  10. Pepperbird Says:

Rog–I saw the SNL spoof tonight and liked it, but wanted them to give more lines to Joy!! They should’ve had some snark of Elisabeth showing off her tummy too. I loved that it opened on the Disney set.

The writers should read our blogs–they’d have funnier lines in the skit.

  11. Hallie Says:

    I found it on hulu.

  12. Diane from N.J. Says:

    MONDAY PREDICTION:

    1. Bet they do a montage of their week in Los Angeles; portraying it as full of fun, meyhem, and merriment.* with outtakes, backstage scenes, tom foolery, foolishness, silliness.

    2. Then they will talk about the travel back to New York for another segment,…Whoopi’s bus trip and so on…..

    3. Then they will make sure to do the corporate politically correct thing, and spend another few minutes thanking all of their LA Disney/ABC hosts, finishing off with a big brown kiss-up to CEO Michael whats-his-name.

    4. Then Hasslebark will make sure she mentions the Disney Legend award BWalters received out there —and Babs will act surprised.

*… those are the names of the drawfs that tried out for Snow White & never made it.

  13. Diane from N.J. Says:

SusieQ - Excellent handicapping of the week to come.

MaryEvans - Agreed. LOVE, LOVE that GMA’s Robin got the Michelle Obama interview. Yes, even Regis, in his tired format, continues to get the A-list guests.

THE VIEW ON SNL LAST NITE - Have to believe that they poked fun because the week was SOOOOO bad - that said, we are not alone - we are not alone.

HEY - ARE THE SNL WRITERS READING THIS BLOG????????

  14. susieq Says:

Click my name for the link to SNL.

They discussed the lifting of the ban on stem cell research. Let’s see if the real panel discusses it. I must say they nailed Elisabeth pretty well. And “Sherri” mentioned wigs. Although it would have been funnier if Tracy’s wig was smoking since there was a fire in his and Sherri’s buiding a few weeks ago. Oh and “Barbara” honey, once you have slept with a married man, you can’t be Snow White. Slutty Off-White, but not Snow White.

  15. Roger from Ohio Says:

    #10 Pepperbird–

Rog–I saw the SNL spoof tonight and liked it, but wanted them to give more lines to Joy!!

I agree… Joy is a lot funnier than just “so what, who cares” She has that attitude, but as good as SNL is, they could improve. On this spoof though, it was all about Sherri…. because her buddy was the one doing the spoofing.
They did a good job with Elisabeth’s inane talking points.

  16. Kelly Says:

I lost all respect for Sinise when Elisabeth claimed him as “My good friend, Gary.”

I thought he was much smarter than that.

  17. MiamiVision Says:

Kelly - you don’t know that it’s true - it could have just been something EH tossed out there…..do you really think Sinese and she are *good friends*? Or just possibly acquaintenances?

    just my *take* on that….

  18. Kelly Says:

Good point MV - I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

  19. MiamiVision Says:

Kelly - yes manana, and the way he greets her when he comes out will tell a story, or so I think, and that is only IF he walks out and is not just seated at the table/couch when the cameras are on him at the outset.
