Tim Hasselbeck hired by Fox as NFL commentator

According to the Baltimore Sun, Tim Hasselbeck, husband of The View host Elisabeth Hasselbeck has found new employment. Tim, who was cut from his third string quarterback job by the New York Giants prior to the start of the season, will provide commentary during Sunday’s NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Arizona Cardinals. The game will air on Fox.
There is no word, yet, if this is a one-time gig or if he will work with Fox for the remainder of the NFL season.

Too bad! I was hoping that he would put his money where Elisabeth’s mouth is and volunteer to fight for his country in Iraq or Afghanistan! After all, I thought they were patriots and since he no longer had his FOURTH string quarterback job (NOT third string), he would see the light and do his duty to America. So much for hypocrisy.

I knew it! Well, good for him. Not everyone who supports the war has to go fight. But that is his wife´s opinions. I think she, too will find another career as a radio commentator. She is being bumped off the table, and she and the higher ups at the View will use her maternity leave as an excuse not to come back. BW´s fingers are crossed as they were with Rosie.

We can only pray for that outcome ,Elsie!!!

Sandi,
I agree 100 percent. The problem I have with EH and people who think like her is, they don’t care how many lives are lost or how many Iraqis are displaced, as long as they feel safe in their little corner of the world.
People like Tim and Elisabeth will justify the disregard of the constitution and the bill of rights and the torture of other human beings, to feel a false sense of security. That’s as unpatriotic as you can get.
September 20th, 2007 at 7:12 am
Is it okay if I like Elisabeth? (runs and hides from the EH haters)
September 20th, 2007 at 1:20 pm
Werll I personaly wish Tim well, and hope that he prospers in his new job,..if it is a full time thing.
September 20th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
I like Elisabeth also. She just needs some help on the View.
My Father-in-law, husband, brother-in-law, son and son-in -law have all been to war and believed in what that were doing and did. Making this a free country so people can call the President names and my God also.
I have lived in another country where a new Predident was sworn in overnight and chaois erupted overnight. I have seen elections in another country where people were run down in the street as I watched from my hotel room. These were not third world countries.
Wake up and stop listening to people tell you to be nice. It does not work!!

Rozy,
A patriot supports their country, not necessarily their government. Our troops have done everything they’ve been asked to do, they’ve captured Saddam and searched for WMDS.
They can’t and shouldn’t be expected to police a civil war. There were a lot of people who believed in the mission in the beginning, until they realized that they’ve been misled.
September 20th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
Rozy…I don’t understand a word you said.
September 21st, 2007 at 12:51 pm
Rozy, I DO understand everything you said, and i agree with you as I know what you are saying.
I also understand Rainlille.
It’s so hard to understand how the War in Iraq is protecting us right now. or in the best interest of our country. I think that all Americans want what is best for our country and our citizens, our troops. I have a LOT of mixed feelings about it, as I understand points on both sides of the issue.
November 9th, 2007 at 5:31 am
Just for the record-none of us really know what is going on in Iraq!! My husband is one of the real men in this country over there fighting, and I hear nothing but good from what our men and women are doing over there. I respect Elisabeth and agree with everything she says!! Just because her husband isn’t going to join the military doesn’t make him any less of a man, and as far as being 4th string-how many of you have made a professional team in your life and played?! And how does her husband changing careers lead to the war anyways?
November 9th, 2007 at 6:16 am
AsH ,
I’m currently corresponding with a solider over there and he says things are really bad. He wants me and other Americans to write our elected officials to try and get them home ASAP! This is a civil war and our troops shouldn’t be stuck in the middle.
Iraq is not a threat to America. The real threat is in Afghanistan and now Pakistan because their government is currently unstable and they have nuclear weapons.
Most of the insurgents are coming in from Saudi Arabia. I really wish EH would have encouraged her husband to enlist like Pat Tillman did.
November 11th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
I told myself I wouldn’t get involved in a conversation such as this-but I do take offense b/c as I said my husband is there(and various members of my family)! Maybe where your correspondence is in his life, he thinks we shouldn’t be there, but my Marine is doing his job and agrees that we should be there, as do all his men. You may watch the American news which is nothing but anti-war, and they can make the news whatever they want, but I see military news and news around the world. Have you not heard what we have done in the Al Anbar province?! Do you not agree that if our men and women weren’t there the war would be on our soil?
As for Tim going into the military-he is a bit old to go into the military as a soldier, marine or sailor.
November 11th, 2007 at 9:38 pm
AsH Says:
“As for Tim going into the military-he is a bit old to go into the military as a soldier, marine or sailor.”
Not true. Tim is 29. According to the following maximum age guideline he is eligible to enroll in the foillowing branch of service:
Active Army - 42
Army Reserves - 42
Air Force Reserve - 34
Active Navy - 34
Naval Reserves - 39
Marine Corps Reserve - 29
AsH Says:
“Do you not agree that if our men and women weren’t there the war would be on our soil?”
No, I personally do not agree with that statement.
November 11th, 2007 at 10:02 pm
okay well since we are getting so much into details here, let me explain my point.
As I said I am a military wife, we live on base, and I am around all ages of men and women who serve. I know that 29 is not technically too old to go into the military, but it isn’t the ideal age to start a military career. Most men and women start their career either right out of college or when they turn 18.
November 11th, 2007 at 10:43 pm
I truly believe if you’re able bodied and you support the war you have a duty to enlist and fight. The person I’m talking to holds the same opinions of Iraq as the majority of Americans. Our troops weren’t sent over there to police a civil war.
“Do you not agree that if our men and women weren’t there the war would be on our soil?”
HELL NO! We weren’t attacked by Iraqis,we were attacked by people from Saudi Arabia. Thanks Stacee, for the enlistment info. I’ve heard that even guys who are 40 in good health are being accepted.
November 11th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
By the way, I don’t rely on American news. I watch the BBC and I also get my information from other sources outside of the United States.
November 11th, 2007 at 11:19 pm
If you all are soooo patriotic why dont you all just go enlist or get commissioned?! After all its not just men in the military right?! This is obviously a pointless argument b/c you all are not opened to other peoples opinions or points of view. Just remember to respect not only those men and women fighting but also their families!out
November 11th, 2007 at 11:20 pm
Oh FYI~there are more people than just the Saudis that are attacking us!
November 12th, 2007 at 4:20 am
AsH ,
You don’t get it! Why should people who are against the war enlist and fight for something they don’t believe in? I’m against this war, have been from the beginning so I do the following things to back up my beliefs:
I’ve marched against it.
Donated money.
Wrote letters to my elected officials and newspapers.
I’m only asking people who believe in it to back up their beliefs by enlisting.
I know the Saudis aren’t the only people attacking our troops, it’s also the countrymen who are opposed to being occupied.
November 12th, 2007 at 4:56 am
I’m very glad you stand up for what you believe in, and speak out for your beliefs. After all thats what our country is all about right?! Just remember when you do that everyone else is allowed to also. Just as much as you don’t agree with this war, there are people out there that do, and just as you stand against it, we stand for it and for our men and women. The only thing I can do is agree to disagree on this subject-otherwise we could continue forever with this debate!
November 12th, 2007 at 10:23 am
The majority of the American people are opposed to this war. In any case, there isn’t anything wrong with being a cheerleader on the sidelines… Like Cheney, Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, after all Bush was a cheerleader in college. I support the troops, but not the mission they were sent to fight!
November 12th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
You’re right I am a cheerleader. I cheer for my man and his men and women every SINGLE DAY!! AND I’M DAMN PROUD OF IT!! As are lots of people who support our troops their efforts and their lives. I realize you surround yourself with liberals and democrats, and hear only what you want to hear about this war, but as I said before I hear the inside story from endless troops daily who say we should be there and have done two three, or even more tours.
November 12th, 2007 at 6:58 pm
Peaches, I’m trying!
November 12th, 2007 at 9:33 pm
Rain:
I know you are. You always do. I admire your tenacity. Today was a tough day, being Veterans Day and seeing Laura on The View and others in the right-wing press once again trashing those of us who are questioning and worrying about this mess in Iraq. You’d think it wasn’t our country, too. We have a right to worry that staying Bush’s course is just as wrong for our future as the pro-war people think it is the right course. I get the idea they think we are protesting and criticizing just for the hell of it, just for something to do. Don’t they understand how terrified we are at this mess Bush put us in, without any good options?
There are plenty of right-wingers who think this war is the wrong course. I’m weary of the arguing. But I refuse to sit still and wear a blindfold and a gag and just go along with a very risky misadventure just because right wingers believe in it. It’s immoral to just sit still and go along with the program if you think it’s going to be disastrous for our kids and grandkids.
Thanks for the inspiration to keep on speaking up.

“Thanks for the inspiration to keep on speaking up.”
Right back at you!
