Video of Alicia Silverstone snubbing Elisabeth Hasselbeck

by

Here is a video from YouTube of Alicia Silverstone on The View on May 23rd. As I mentioned before, when she came onto the stage, she completely snubbed Elisabeth Hasselbeck, but then greeted the rest of the hosts. This interview came immediately after the extremely heated argument between Elisabeth and Rosie O’Donnell. The video also has short clips of the interviews with the other guests (Elizabeth Mitchell of Lost, Laila Ali, and Joey Fatone).

    That was beyond unprofessional.

  2. Jean Says:

Hurray for Alicia Silverstone! She’s the real deal.

  3. a mom Says:

What a big spoiled brat. Someone doesn’t agree with her views, so let’s be a snob right on national tv. Whay to go Alicia, you showed your true colors…another ‘Rosie’ style: let’s hate everyone who disagrees with us.

  4. alicia Says:

What a bitch!! She just screwed up as bad as the DIXIE CHICKS!! Hated worldwide!! what a jerk!!

  5. Anonymous Realist Says:

I notice Hasselbeck is gaining weight. Wonder if she’s preparing for some kind of wrestling match? Too bad, she used to be very lovely and slim.

  6. mathew cole Says:

This is not about rosie and elizabeth! This is about the slaughter of some 3000 people by their own government…
Google “loose change” and actually watch what the fight is over. I personally hate fat loudmouth lesbians, but that does’t change the fact that Rosie is right about this! you can’t argue with physics

  7. robert Says:

    elizabeth is pregnant ‘realist’

ALICIA IS A RUDE, BRAT. She might disagree, but you don’t have to be rude. I liked her and Rosie up until yesterday. Not any more.

  8. callie Says:

Let me get this straight>>>>> Alicia doesn’t agree with EH, so she snubs her on her own show? So what if you don’t agree…….be civil.

  9. mathew cole Says:

It couldn’t have possibly been Muslims following the Quran’s call to covert or kill us all. By they way Bush is covering up UFOs that took Jimmy Carter. I’ve seen UFOs in my bathroom!

  10. Hot Air » Blog Archive » Video: Silverstone snubs Hasselbeck after Rosie blow-up Says:

[...] I missed it yesterday and it’s pretty egregious, enough so that Access Hollywood and fellow “View” aficionados noticed. It comes right at the beginning. Big hugs for everyone, including guest host Sherri [...]

  11. Kelly Says:

    To “Anonymous Realist”:

Women, generally speaking, tend to gain weight when they’re pregnant. It means they’re providing nutrients to their baby.

    To “mathew cole”:

Surprise, surprise, another Truther on the web. Why don’t you Google “Screw Loose Change”, that way you can watch your idolized movie and get a counterpoint while you’re at it.

Or if you’re intellectually lazy, just watch South Park. They’ve summed up the Truther movement quite nicely.

  12. wenmidd Says:

Wait, Silverstone is doing what?? Last decent thing was CLUELESS…and now that I think about it, it’s fitting.

I say good, one more idiot Hollywoodite to add to my “not my money” list.

  13. gordon Says:

another hollywood BRAT. Booo HOOOO someone has a different opinion than mine. Let me act like a little jerk

  14. Heather Says:

I used to love Alicia Silverstone, I even named my daughter Alicia.

Wow, that was really childish behavior.

  15. melody Says:

Way to go Rosie! Looks like Alicia had her opinion too. As Elizabeth said, she’s a big girl and can take it. Now she can feel what Rosie goes through with people against her. I’ll be glad when she’s gone with her next little Right Winger

  16. callie Says:

difference of opinion is ONE THING being RUDE is another.

  17. Jen Says:

What Alicia Silverstone did was a graceless and utterly classless display of BIGOTRY.

Regardless whether Elisabeth’s views are right or wrong, she has as much right voice to her opinion as Alicia or Rosie. To shun Elisabeth for her opinion is juvenile, ill-mannered, intolerant, and above all for a public figure: UNPROFESSIONAL.

What Alicia Silverstone *did* said much worse things about Alicia than it did about Elisabeth. It says she’s a common BIGOT.

  18. kc Says:

All the screaming over Alicia going to Rosie for a hug instead of Elisabeth? Many stars have snubbed Elisabeth and even Joy. It’s not necessary to greet all the hosts. It’s at the guest’s discretion. She spoke to Elisabeth during the interview and that was enough. There is a thing called FREE WILL, and who one Earth is 100% Ms. Manners under all situations. Did Elisabeth show good manners during the HT by talking over Joy? Rosie is the much bigger star with more celeb friends, so good for her that someone want to hug her, and not the one who hurt her! If I were her, I would have done the same thing. She earned my respect with her kindness to Rosie.

  19. Amie Says:

Silverstone needs to ‘pretend to be a ‘professional’ when in the public eye… For goodness sakes…one would think an ‘actor’…could do better than snub anyone. Why not just leave??? Talk about a person with NO class!

  20. Don Says:

i just loved what Jen said. I’ve just got to copy and paste it.

  21. Margie Says:

I watched it twice and yes she did not hug her, which was an error, but she was perfectly pleasant during the interview where Elisabeth asked a lot of questions.

  22. vicky miller Says:

i would love to let Alicia Silverstone know what she did was wrong. Please post website of her to let her know how many people she let down.

  23. TallFreak Says:

I will be brave and give Alicia the benefit of the doubt. If you watch the video Alicia passes Elisabeth and almost passes Joy and then takes a step back to greet Joy. I’m hoping she was planning to sit down at first and then realized “Oh, I have to hug and kiss everyone first!” but forgot to take a few more steps back to greet Elisabeth. You can kinda tell Elisabeth was hurt (rightly so) as she puts her hands on her hips in bewilderment. She’s such a good sport because she does the interview pretending it never happened.

  24. kc Says:

Apparently, one can’t snub Elisabeth without geting called a “bigot”! That’s like calling people who won’t watch Fox News “biased”. What ridiculous statements.

  25. barb Says:

you’re right, you don’t snub a person on their own show because they hold DIFFERENT VIEWS THAN YOU, WITHOUT BEING A BIGOT. you got it right KC

  26. PW Says:

So what else is new? Just another self-aggrandizing celebrity who can’t live without attention. Get over it folks . . . it’s not like any of these women are intellectual giants who provide the world with facts and solid analysis. The blather isn’t even funning . . . aren’t two of the ladies supposed to be comedians?

  27. kc Says:

And people who are judgmental about who someone chooses to hugs or not and why, are presumptious, at best, or just idiotic. No one needs to hug anyone on the show if they don’t choose to, period.

  28. Stephanie Says:

Wow, that was very rude of her. Very classy, and typical liberal. Libs are tolerant to others…as long as you agree with them. If not, you are just Bushitler sheeple who has no mind of your own.

  29. AR Says:

Way to go, Alicia - what a snot you are!! You give liberals a bad name!

I’m adding yet another “celebretard” to the list of those who I won’t contribute a penny of my money to their pockets, be it via movies, CD’s, tv, endorsements, etc. Alicia acted like a bratty child and showed her immaturity.

Elisabeth, as always, looked like the better person. Thank God Rosie is GONE and we don’t have to listen to pro-democrat, pro-gay drivel every day. Maybe they’ll keep her snotty friends off the show as guests, too.

  30. liz Says:

I totally agree with ‘AR’. The only way we ordinary folks can let these jerks (Cruise, Hilton, Silverstone, Gibson) know that we think they are showing poor judgment and exercising rude conduct is to boycott their movies, shows, etc. Rosie has had the attitude that she is entitled to say what ever she thinks and then not be responsible for it. Like Elizabeth said, “explain yourself’. I used to like Rosie but now I see her as confrontational and mean. I’ll bet Barbara Walters does too. Remember that make-up room backstage issue they had about Trump? Rosie used to be a comedian, now she is nothing but a loud-mouth. And yes we know Rosie- you are a LESBIAN. Thanks for the daily reminders. Move on to a forum where you can be happy again. Peace out.

  31. Cindy Says:

I was laughing when Alicia snubbed EH….I would’ve done the exact same thing!

EH is such an annoying little republican puppet….

  32. sal Says:

I was shocked to watch how disrespectful Alicia was to Elizabeth.
she sure is a spoiled little brat. I will never watch any movies that she is in. In fact she is a nobody as far as star quality is concerned. I’m sure alot of people don’t even know who she is. I also thought she looked very rough. She needs to get meat back in her diet…

  33. kc Says:

I think it can be said that Elisabeth is also a spoiled little brat with even less talents thant Alicia. Politics has nothing to do people being spoiled little brats.

  34. q-man Says:

That is unprofessional of Alicia. Here Elisbeth showed class and apologized for cutting into her time, but Alicia didn’t have the decency to even greet her. She doesn’t have to hug or kiss her, but she should have at least greeted her as a human being and host. I am not saying that Alicia needed to be fake, but come on, show some professionalism and at least shake her hand.
I used to like Alicia, but not anymore.

  35. Melanie Plain Says:

EVERYONE. Alicia did not snub EH because her views are different. She did it because EH was so rude to Rosie and didn’t have her back as a real friend would!

  36. Karen Says:

Hoping the video of Jimmy Smits merely shaking Elizabeth’s hand makes a statement as well.

    Get a clue, Elizabeth.

  37. Peaches Says:

After reading the outrage in all these old posts, I wonder
why on earth these people don’t have a fraction of the same indignation over the blunders Bush has made over his war? It is ASTOUNDING that these people are raising hell over someone walking past EH & dissing her and yet are as quiet as lambs over how much he has screwed things up. Are they more interested in manners than foreign policy? Are they just in denial about the guy they put in office twice? Are they embarrassed? What is it?
