Video of Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s Excitement for NKOTB

by Winnie McCarthy

On The View this morning, Elisabeth Hasselbeck excitedly discussed the reunion of the New Kids on the Block. Here is a video clip of her showing her singing and dancing, as well as engaging in a debate with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar about her comment that they were “my Beatles.”

Although I did not break out in song or dance, I must admit I, too, was rather excited when I first heard of a possible reunion.

I missed this part of the show this morning. would have liked to have seen it.
I would watch the video, but with my slow dial up, watching a video takes forever, and it’s all broken up.

I have to confess that I don’t know much about this group, have heard of them and remember my older daughter really liking them.

  2. ShannonP Says:

She was acting so lame, I was embarassed for her. And it felt scripted and pre-thought out for her to do all that. If it was natural, I’d have thought it was funny, it just didn’t feel natural.
I thought Whoopi was acting equally idiotic.

  3. Ann Says:

It would be just like EH to go bananas over a band that was so mediocare (can’t play instruments, can’t write their own songs etc. etc.)

  4. Hanna Says:

That’s right Ann! Because Whitney Houston, Back Street Boys, NSync, Britney Spears, Christine Aguilera are mediocre too. Ohh lets not forget Patsy Cline.

    ROFLMAO

  5. Derek Says:

Hanna, your reference to Whitney, Christina and Pasty doesn’t hold up. They don’t write their own material or play instruments, but they are exceptional singers, which is a talent that puts them a cut above. By contrast, the NKOB don’t have any particularly great vocal abilities, to go along with their lack of playing or songwriting talent, there’s absolutely NOTHING SPECIAL about them. Thus, mediocre is the word to use. The fact that they are only remembered by people who were around when they were pushed on us is telling of the fact. And though you were being sarcastic, Britney, the BSB and NSync, are indeed in the same boat.

I was embarassed for EH too. I don’t have any particular dislike for her as many on this site seem to, but this just struck me as really really phony. And her comparison to The Beatles almost knocked me off my chair. Sheesh.

  6. Hanna Says:

    Dereck

In their defense, they made it… you didn’t!!! I wasn’t into them, I respect their abilities. THEY MADE IT!!! And went onto acting careers…. Also exceptional. And EH Said ” They were my beatles “. Even unexceptional people can realize she was referencing herself. You need to lighten up…. Woooo wooooo wooo wo wo!!!!

  7. Erika Says:

    EH is a ning nong.

  8. Aileen Says:

    EH is a fart knocker

um…was it just me or was Joey waaaayyy off key today? I thought..he musn’t be able to hear the music. He was just AWful and never caught back up. And EH acted like a nard. She was trying so hard to act spontaneous and “giggly” as if she finally found her long lost, boyfried. She always speaks more than who she introduces, whether a guest who sits to chat or a guest who is a musician. She needs to ask a question and let them answer w/o busting in with her own banter. Sherri today had to say, “Okay..,but back to the question…” I was so pleased because I, too, wantded to hear what they had been doing since NKOTB disbanded. EH just wanted to act like she was such a fan and it should be funny to viewers to see her freak like a 12year old. Not bitin EH. BW needs to give EH her walking papers NOW!
