  1. Debbie Says:

This show is disgusting! Thank you Elizabeth for having a backbone. Barack Obama is a black male with no experience and you women…continue to put Palin down…a white woman who is running as Vice President of the U.S.! You hold him on some pedestal of saviour…like a God. He is not! I would like to see him be President someday, but he is not seasoned or ready to do this job. He needs to go back to the Senate and actually do some damn work for a while and then try later. And yes Palin is a heart beat away from the Presidency and I am certain she right now — is more capable than Barack to be President. It is unbelievable that women in this country are still unconscious and ignorant and continue to degrade themselves as you do. Elizabeth is the only one of you with any class and you all are trying to push her over as hard as you can. I am sick of this Paris Hilton, Reality TV, Rip off America mentality all based and rewarded on shock value, immorality, and stealing. I will not watch this show anymore.

  2. GO, EH, GO--to hell! Says:

God, I hope those rumors about Elizabitch leaving are true! Usually she sucks up to BW whenever she’s on and shows her deference when she tries to be peacemaker. EH knows who’s paying the bills. But there was none of that today. She was talking to her boss like a teenager fighting with her mom, so maybe she’s not worried about keeping her job anymore.

It would be so nice not to have to listen to a person who’s sole mission is to spit out the Republican talking points of the day. And I’m sick of hearing how the liberals at the table gang up on her. Please! Joy and Whoopi can never finish a sentence without her snide little Republican jabs interrupting them. She always gets to have her say on every topic, but never lets anyone else have theirs.

  3. Sandy Woodward Says:

EH cut her hair. Joy has always said she needed a pixie cut.

  4. Michaela Says:

I can’t begin to fathom the level of ignorance and blind allegiance to the Republican party that Elisabeth portrays. How can she seriously ask, “Why is that bad?” in response to Whoopi’s comment that Palin is a heartbeat away from the Presidency? Elisabeth has only known this woman for a month and she thinks she would make a good President? Has she not seen any of Sarah Palin’s interviews??? Palin could potentially be in a position to nominate Supreme Court justices and she can’t name another court case besides Roe v. Wade. http://www.236.com/feed/2008/10/01/palin_cant_name_supreme_court_9259.php
It’s time for Elisabeth to go. She obviously can’t think for herself and she is an embarrassment to Barbara Walters.

  5. Carah Winters Says:

I am a little confused that you call your program “The View” and Hasselbeck is treated as if she is not allowed a “View” unless she agrees with Joy or whoever else is cutting on the selected one to be cut down that week. If you are going to call yourself “The View” then for crying out loud, agree to at least respect one person’s “View” that disagrees with the consensus.
    With ALL

  6. Jenny Says:

Even though i dont agree with some of the things EH says, i really felt sorry in the segment where barbara attacked her and the crowd cheered BW on

i didnt think it was the right time and place to do it.

but good show, thanks for the videos winnie.

  7. Dana Says:

Barbara gave Elizabeth the floor…. she did not attack EH. It was Elizabeth who couldn’t think of one reason why Palin should be Vice President! It’s embarrassing to watch Sarah Palin in interviews and now it’s embarrassing to watch EH on The View. I don’t mind listening to another’s view on a topic but it has to be articulate and thoughtful.

  8. Kelly Says:

We women don’t want to hand over America to a manipulating lying incompetent politician DEBBIE. Gender has nothing to do with it. Enough with Crying Sexism.

I guess you missed it when EH called Hillary ugly DEBBIE! Did you miss it when Backbone EH said she was certain Hillary got the same kind of praise for her beauty as Palin. Did you miss her devilish little grin Debbie? Did you miss that?

Have you not read a single article on Palin and her fabricated work experience and credit taking? Have you not noticed that ALL media has caught her in a lie?

I suppose your Republican mind-set allows you to toss away any of that irrefutable evidence as Liberal Media, Drive-by Media, GotchanJournalism, Conspiracy Theorist, Spin, and whatever other excuse you use to validate your Party and their completely irresponsible selection of Palin.

Don’t dismiss it, prove Palin is ready. You are wrong. You sound so racist.

  9. phyllis hurrell Says:

This show has hit rock bottom. I thought the premise was to discuss and inform their viewers. Do any of you watch the show after you get done crucifying people. Would you allow your children to say the things you say about another human being. There are not enough words to describe my disappointment, and now, total disrespect for all of you.

  10. Danielle Says:

I just don’t understand how people totally dismiss the fact that Sen. Obama was at the top of his class at Harvard, and taught constitutional law for twelve years at a college, I forgot which college it was, but only Sherri has mentioned this in passing, I don’t even think anyone heard her, because usually she says things that don’t make any sense and no one really listens to her. Anyway I want people like Debbie to acknowledge that Sen. Obama is not just some dummy running for president.
Does anyone think Palin has even read the US constitution? I say that because watching these latest interviews makes me think that she doesn’t even read…? I’m not going to vote for someone just because we have the same body parts, that’s sexist itself. Our country is in horrible shape and if people think we’re in trouble now…? This is just the beginning of the Bush disaster.

  11. Rebecca Says:

I want to start by saying I’m not a republican, democrat, feminist, or racist. But I am a thinker. And I think they should change the name of the show to “The Liberal View” I too hope that Elizabeth leaves The View, she deserves her views to be heard and not talked down to or over. The fact that she has put up with this rhetoric for this long proves she does have a backbone. Good Luck Elizabeth. And to the rest of the women in America, do your research, get the facts, don’t let the opinions of the uninformed sway your vote it is an important one.

  12. Dee Says:

“Barack Obama is a black male with no experience and you women…continue to put Palin down…a white woman”

Why must you denote color of skin?

“It is unbelievable that women in this country are still unconscious and ignorant and continue to degrade themselves as you do. Elizabeth is the only one of you with any class”

Class, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Screeching irrational Hannity talking points is ignorant. Being able to put together a coherent, well constructed reason why one supports their candidate is intelligent. EH has not demonstrated this skill but has perfected her screeching, tear filled tantrums into a fine art.

“I am sick of this Paris Hilton, Reality TV, Rip off America mentality all based and rewarded on shock value”

Where do you think EH got her start? Survivor, a reality show on how to do unto others before they do unto you. Some class, eh?

  13. Judi Says:

Katie must have forgotten her first few year in that position when her job was on the line she was so bad and made so many mistakes. Palin has been out in the public eye being scrutinized for only one month. I certainly wouldn’t want to be in her shoes. I guess you just have to remember that to make mistakes, you have to have done a lot (which she has). Obama hasn’t done enough in the political scene to have made too many (other than not knowing how many states we have). The better part of his experience is in campaigning. I’m giving Palin a chance. Katie needs to save her “Pop Quiz” questions for her kids when she’s helping them with their homework. LOL

  14. Roger from Ohio Says:

    Judi–

Sarah Palin isnt applying for a job….. she is planning on running the country. When the POTUS makes mistakes people die. When the POTUS gets sarcastic with a foreign leader, Billions of dollars can be lost.

I will agree, making a mistake during an interview or during a debate, isnt all that important. What is important is making those same mistakes when it actually matters.

The campaign and debates show the American people how the candidate might handle a stressful situation. Anyone with an open mind has to admit that Sarah Palin has had few chances to show us, but the times she has had she hasnt stepped up.

  15. Kelly Says:

It’s a sad day when people stop caring about honesty in their candidate.

Lie. Cheat. Steal. The fundamentals of the McCain/Palin ticket.

  16. Paige Says:

As for Sara, yeah she was way up tight with the ultra-liberal Couric, who would make another great co-host on The View. Those woman on The View ought to be the kind that make intelligent ones like you want to vomit! Their journalistic depth was made front and center the way they treated the McCains vs. the Obamas. Even Barbara Walters acted liked a depraved animal that wanted to hump Obama, telling him how sexy he is and all. Fair and balanced, oh yeah sure!!! Anyway, I think Palin will be like Reagan, he did terrible at first, but when they quit over-prepping him he did stellar. Hopefully for all of us that’s the case with her, or we will all have to suffer the result of Obama running the country while he tries to learn judgement about whom to choose for mentors and associates. Can’t you just imagine if he would bring the deviant confidants from his past into his administration? That coupled with his Liberal Elitists mentality, who truly despise the little guys, you know the ones that “cling to their guns and religion”, but they need to manipulate so they ignorantly vote them into office, that will be a sad day for America if it happens! The democrat party is no longer the party that my parents belonged to, and it’s sad we don’t have a better alternative, but we don’t!

  17. Danielle Says:

Thank you Roger from Ohio. I guess some people won’t get it until we wake up one morning to turn on the television and find that the Chinese have taken over America.

  18. Rebecca Says:

“The fundamentals of our economy is strong”

The response to this statement makes be think that people don’t understand the meaning of the word fundamental?

  19. Christina Says:

Does Elisabeth have a brain? Is she so Republican that she can’t take honest and real talk? Sarah Pallin, should have had an answer for the magazine’s question by Katie, she is surrounded with if nothing else to say, my kids have Teen People, anything would have been better than her babble. If she is such a “soccer mom” than she should have a kids sport mag around, or heck a new baby momma magazine. And your response was STUPID! You don’t know her, you don’t know she “meant to not say anything, because of not wanting ties to any publication.” Give us a break!!!!

I’m so sick of Elisabeth, when is her contract up? Can we get a new young fresh face? I’m a republican and she is giving us a band name! None of are so blind to following the republicans off the bridge, well except Elisabeth. I’m also guessing that Elisabeth would drink the Kool-Aid if asked to!

I work from home and enjoy watching the morning shows from time to time, but I can’t stomach the show anymore with Elisabeth…Lets please move on!!!!!! New face, new year!!!!

Think Elisabeth; think…..not everything anyone does is good or “your” way! Your young mind is getting SO old!!!!

Lets Vote YOU off the show!

  20. Amy Says:

Co sign with #8, Kelly and #10 Danielle!!

  21. JUDE Says:

People need to do their research and not just the newspapers. Then make a decision. I learned along time ago that Newspapers lie, when they wrote a news article about my family that was so lacking fact I was stunned. Yes they can print untruths and get away with it. I too am taken back by name calling (calling Palin stupid) and the credibility of the view is lacking.

  22. Valerie Says:

Sarah Palin is so stupid. She talks in circles about nothing. She will be worse than Bush. God forbid if McCain wins, this woman can’t even keep up with her pregnant unwed child. How is she going to be 2nd in charge? EH please leave the show.

  23. Rebecca Says:

    Valerie #22

Did you watch the debate? And surely you are not suggesting that Mothers are incapable
of making intelligent decisions because of the mistakes that their children may make?

  24. Rebecca Says:

    JUDE #21

    I total agree.

  25. Stacee Says:

“Barack Obama is a black male with no experience and you women…continue to put Palin down…a white woman who is running as Vice President of the U.S.!”

Interesting that you mention race/color. Can you put it in context to the argument you are making? Care to elaborate?

  26. mibi Says:

rebecca i relize that your commnet 23 was not for me but I did want to say that i saw the debates and i thought that while palin looked great and tried to connected with audincenc well she did not prove much to me. she still made misteps in names and on the envoirment was a bit of deer in the headlights. so she still supect. but some people will over look these things and go on gut and like her silly (imo) folksyness. she could not run for pres so she should not be vp in my opion

  27. Rebecca Says:

    mibi #26

There is no denying that she is new on the scene and she doesn’t have the history like Sen. Biden to fall back on when answering the questions. She did make some mistakes but so did Sen Biden and no one is calling him stupid. She doesn’t talk like a lawyer or a politian, is that such a bad thing? Most might not know whether the answers from either two last night were actually true but because Biden sounds official some blindly take it as truth. And honestly even though I do agree with you she did look great, I could care less what shoes she was wearing. And I don’t mind so much that she uses words like “folks”

  28. rainlillie Says:

All I can say is THANK GOD the voters who matter didn’t buy her bs. The undecideds went for Biden. Golly, darn , gosh Sarah …Try again.

  29. rainlillie Says:

“She doesn’t talk like a lawyer or a politian, is that such a bad thing? ”

Let me think…YES, that is a “bad thing.”
She talked to the voters like they were little children. Maybe that works with the intellectual level of her base, but it didn’t work with me. Every time I see her, she makes me appreciate Hilary more and more.

  30. Rebecca Says:

    Rainlillie #28

I’m just curious what after show did you watch? I watched both CNN and Fox, I wasn’t surprised to hear that they had opposite outcomes. CNN for Biden and Fox for Palin.

  31. mibi Says:

rebecca i dont mind her folk speak it can be refreshing but the winking and gee is a little much sometimes. I am sure that in a lot of ways it her I also think she has played it up a bit, that is all. I think poeple belive what they hear from both sides unless they know or learn better thats why there is all fact checking after the debate. I mentioned that she looked good not as a put down at all but because I think it might have been a strenght for her in someways espcially since binden has squnity eyes it was proably easier for her to to be liked.
overall it was good night for both sides

  32. mibi Says:

oh yeah and she still is not up to standards you can not say hey she new. she has a month she has to be ready.period. ok soap box done

  33. rainlillie Says:

“CBS News polled undecided voters, 46% of whom thought Biden won, while 33% thought it was a tie, and 21% thought Palin won. Palin got a boost on the question about whether she’s “knowledgeable about important issues” — after the debate, 66% of undecideds said she is — but Biden did far better, with 98% seeing him as knowledgeable.

CNN conducted a quick national poll and found that 51% of debate viewers thought Biden did the best, while 36% thought Palin did the best. The CNN poll also found that 64% thought Biden did better than expected, while Palin exceeded very low expectations — 84% said she did better than expected.

But expectations aside, Palin may not have done too much to help her own cause — before the debate, 54% said she’s not qualified to be the vice president. After the debate, 53% said she’s still not qualified to be the vice president.”

  34. Rebecca Says:

    mibi #31

I agree, sometimes she makes my ears bleed BUT so does the BS that came from Biden.

  35. rainlillie Says:

After four years of Bush, I want a president who speaks with a command of the English language. Not stupid little folksy terms.

  36. mibi Says:

rebecca please point a BS statement from biden .I ask in all honesty since i missed it.

  37. mibi Says:

here here # 35 obama could not get away with it

  38. Amy Says:

Rainlillie, you are hilarious!!! If you run for Prez, gosh darn it…you have my vote!!! You know, I don’t think Palin is dumb and anyone calling her that is wrong. *Don’t throw bricks*. However, for the office of VP, I just don’t feel she is qualified. At the debate, I just saw a McCain billboard/cheerleader. There was no substance and I honestly listened to her and had an open mind, but she was so “out there” with her answers. They were all generalities, and talking points.

It is fine to be folksy, and not speaking a lot of political double talk. But, one still needs to be competent about the issues and I just didn’t see it. The winking, and speaking to the audience and “the American people” like they are viewers of Sesame Street was not what I was expecting. I like the fact that she was more relaxed, however.

  39. Stacee Says:

    rainlillie Says:
“After four years of Bush, I want a president who speaks with a command of the English language. Not stupid little folksy terms.”

    Exactly.
I get that some people like and enjoy the Elli Mae Clampet schtick. I just don’t.

  40. Rebecca Says:

    mibi #36

For one thing Biden agrees with Obama on all the issues. Which is great except for the fact that just months ago in the primaries he slams Obama on taxes, war in Iraq (I’m sure you can find the debate on the internet)
and now we are suppose to believe that he believes in Obama views, would he be saying the same if he was on the McCain ticket. When do you believe what he says, today or yesterday? Or tomorrow when it changes?

Both Palin and Biden made statements that just were not true some are arguable but those are the topics that I am looking for not whether her teen age daughter is pregnant.

  41. mibi Says:

funny i found that when palin point out diff between biden an obama that yes biden tied to explain it way as any vp would but i dont think he was making apologies and saying he was wrong he just kind of played lets pointout how it works with obamas view games . I actually saw it was a positive for obama . why because he (obama) did not need to find a vp who was in lock step but has his own views and position on a few things ( that happens when you have a season vet like binden) but at the core they agree. i also think it balances out obama ,because as biden point out he wants him the room with him to give him a counter point from time to time. and who knows if biden migth have changed his tune anyway since these are somewhat new economic times. but i get what you mean about wanting them stong on the issue that matter

  42. Stacee Says:

That’s what happens in primaries, they point out differences between them and their views (Romney “slammed” McCain, yet was out full force as his surrogate and campaigning for him). Fundamentally though, Obama and Biden ultimately have the same ideals. They don’t want to give taxes to the wealthy and they agree that we need to get out of Iraq.

Palin agreed with and praised Obama on an energy plan before she was chosen for VP. McCain disagreed with Palin about the earmarks and bridge in Alaska. So by your standards, do you believe what she or McCain says today or yesterday? Or tomorrow when it changes?

  43. rainlillie Says:

    # 39. Stacee,
It’s been such a nightmare I blocked out the other four years. That should say “8 years of Bush.”
    LOL @ “Elli Mae Clampet.”

    # 38. Thanks. I think there are plenty of jobs that Palin would be great at. VP just isn’t one of them.

If I were John McCain I would be very concerned. Did you hear the way she answered the question about VP powers?

I went and watched the clips again, and I must say as a woman, I found her performance insulting. How can she expect people to take her serious, when she didn’t seem to take the debate serious?

Can you imagine what the right-wing would say, if Biden winked at the camera? And gave shout outs? It really put her on a lower level than Biden. She looked and behaved like a amateur.

  44. Stacee Says:

Can you imagine the uproar had it been Hillary that winked and did the folksy act?
And frankly, I would have been just as (for lack of a better term) turned off.

  45. Stacee Says:

“And gave shout outs? It really put her on a lower level than Biden. She looked and behaved like a amateur.”

I agree. It displayed a lack of class, IMO

  46. MiamiVision Says:

To hear SP say “nucular” after 8 years of little Bush - just grates on my (and many others) nerves! Her winking and folksy ‘tude needs to go at a formal VP debate, that’s for sure. And as time wore on, she keeps dropping the “g” on words ending in “ing.” And her very first words when she came out and Biden and her first met were “Hey, can I call you Joe?” She is terribly ignorant IMHO.

  47. Lauren- Boston Says:

Just a reminder Barbara Walters asked Elizabeth why she thought Sarah Palin woudld make a good President and guess what…EH could not answer the question - she bounced it back with ” why would Obhama make a good President?”. Let’s face it- she answered the question just as SP would…bounce it back and never really give a response. Is this because she/ they do not know the answer ? As far as Sarah Palin, I am not ready for a VP who refers to her husband as “first dude” and speaks with ” ya all” during a national debate. She (SP) is clearly a posterchild for Planned Parenthood as she has a teenager who is pregnant and she was pregnant on her wedding day. Sorry, I am not ready for her image as a VP.

  48. Lauren- Boston Says:

Debbie- EH does not have a “backbone” she just likes to argue. And for the record, 99% of the time she can not back it up with one substantial fact.
