Videos of The View September 3rd: Hot Topics and Adele

by Winnie McCarthy

In lieu of my complete written recap please enjoy these videos from the September 3rd episode of The View. There are four videos of the extended hot topics that they had today. Prior to the videos I have written a brief recap of what happened before the discussion in the first clip. The last video is the musical performance by singer Adele. Although Maura Tierney was scheduled for today, I guess that she got bumped or canceled at the last minute. If anyone was looking forward to her appearance, I will let you know if she is rescheduled.
*****
Today on The View, Sherri Shepherd was absent because she was taking her son Jeffrey to his first day of school. They talked about how school starts younger these days. Joy Behar said she had to sing Italian songs in Kindergarten to get cookies and milk.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck went to see Whoopi Goldberg in Xanadu last night and had a lot fun. Whoopi is only in the show through Sunday. Elisabeth said that Whoopi shares a dressing room and bathroom with her cast mates there, even though she is famous enough to have gotten a trailer. Joy was skeptical of a trailer at Broadway. Whoopi said that it was love that Elisabeth went to see Whoopi rather than stay at home and watch the Republican convention.

I am actually glad that these videos were available because I started recapping the episode, but was getting annoyed with trying to recap the discussion (more so than usual). Plus I am tired. Is that enough excuses? I hope you all don’t mind. The written recaps will be back tomorrow.

eh is confusing she said at some point in the past that she thought it was so sad that she was no longer getting the formula when she left the hospitial and that she thought it should be her chioice of how to feed her baby and it was sad the hostial staff/admin was all in her life and her body .she could she that choice and privacy was nessicary for such a desicion but not having the baby. ( an as of a few week ago am like a pro life person who relialize that that is a choice)

andher analogy was not balcanced because there is no alternate drug and alcohol program (other than just say no) if there was one then it might have worked. an 60 percent of student in absentence only program have sex ( or get pregant i can not remmeber which)

but a bigger question for me was what was whoopi talking about people saying palin should not let her kid have the baby.who says this. I mean am sure some have but i dont think that the prevailing feeling unless she meant palin is making her have the baby. anyway i do feel bad for the father of the baby levi being pulled into political areana( bristol too but her mom beign a vp pick was bring her in anyway it went)
anyway at least they had a good talk

  2. Carolyn Bakondi Says:

If the Republicans say they don’t want more government, why can they tell us whether or not we can have a baby, wanted, or not wanted? Is this not a form of government? Please tell me what the difference is? Elizabeth has to go. She is tooooooo contraversial.

  3. ShannonP Says:

I just finished watching pathetic Palin give her speech and I had such anger at her reading (yes reading, not giving) that speech that I almost felt sick. All those big hatted, belt buckled white people in the audience cheering such ignorance on. The only thing missing from her speech (well, besides independent thought, class, dignity and honor) was her side arms and her pulling them out and making pow pow pow sound effects into the camera and reholstering them. It was a complete joke. Did she have one independent, not scripted thought in the whole speech?
I can only imagine what the panel will say about it tomorrow. I hope Joy is not a coward.
The fact is, people that know politics have already made up their mind who they are voting for. What’s left and who the campaigns are catering to right now are those bobbleheads that are waiting for one of the nominees to pull out their musical instrument on some late show so they can vote for the “coolest” one.

  4. joan barnette Says:

someone should put a muzzle on joy.if Jesus Christ came down and said he was Republican she would find something wrong with him!!She has little or no class! Poor Steve!!!!

  5. joan barnette Says:

that’s my story and i’m stiken to it!

  6. joan barnette Says:

    sorry i misspelled stricken

  7. joan barnette Says:

oops! i meant sticken. I better go to bed!

  8. Sandy Woodward Says:

No ShannonP she did not have have one independent thought in the whole speech.

To top it off her speech was phonetically spelled — why?

She came across so poorly I hope they keep her so we can easily hand Obama the vote on November 4th. But I think they will replace her.

  9. Eleanor Richard Says:

    Hi there!

Elisabeth has finally shown her true color, Racist.

It behooved me to believe that she’s in awe over Cindy-the-Wife grabber, while the poor original 1st Mrs. McCain was on her sick bed & as she galloped around John-boy!

How quick has Elisabeth forgotten that she was a mistress also & broke-up a home leaving a Family: Wife, children & family-man to satisfy her needs? How is she going to share that bedtime with her daughter? Once upon a time, Daddy had another family: A wife & children & home, but, now he has
    us!

Maybe your next Hot Topics should be entitled Blonde-haired (Lizzy did say she dyed hers) Wife-snatchers & Mistresses.

Lizzy goes crazy when Senator Obama’s name is even mentioned. She needs to be put in time-out; she needs a break for a few months ’til she calms down. Her entire attitude against Black people is
annoying & frightening. She hates lacks & she ain’t ashamed to show it. It comes out naturally & she makes no bones to hide it!

Yes, Elisabeth, this is a free country & you do have the right, as you shouted at Whoopi, but ‘Enough is Enough’. You never treated the Host of The View (Barbara or Rosie) as disrespectfully as you continue to be utterly rude towards Whoopi. Does anyone care that she’s extremely MEAN? It has nothing to do with discussing to agree or disagree; she just wants to prove on National TV that she’s White & Right! Because she always looks & directs her statement: ‘I’m right & I know I’m right’ at Whoopi. If Rosie was on, Rosie would have decked her before leaving & paid the fine.

    Talk to ya’

  10. Dee Says:

The choice is indeed causing strife at the convention and Peggy Noonan’s latest open mic disaster on MSNBC shows the cracks. Today she is doing her mea culpa in the WSJ but I must say she did acknowledge Obama in the following:

“Great respect goes to Barack Obama not only for saying criticism of candidates’ children is out of bounds in political campaigns, but for making it personal, and therefore believable. “My mother had me when she was eighteen…” That was the lovely sound of class in American politics.”

Now 4:00 a.m. guy put this on the monitor for Joy. Bit’s won’t be there today because she is hosting the lunch, right?

  11. ShannonP Says:

If anyone caught the Daily Show last night, it was brilliant. It is online for those that want to watch it. Around the 9:20 mark, it gets really good and shows clips of Rove, O’Reilly and others reversing their previous standpoints to support Palin.

  12. Joyce Walpool Says:

We are all biased and there is way too much hatred and untruths in our political process. I was disappointed in The View today because, even though Barbara tried to be fair and balanced, only negative comments were said about Sarah Palin. If Elizabeth can’t be there, you need to have a substitute available that will give the political right opinion. I’m sorry but today convinced me that The View gives us a very slanted opinion of politics and I cannot continue to watch. Let’s do what is good for America and not continue to relate to our own self interests.
