View-related links November 25th, 2008

by

Barbara Walters will have an exclusive interview with Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. It will air November 26th at 10:00 p.m. eastern time on ABC. (Source). I really hope that she does not ask them if they got her letter about her dog Cha-Cha. I don’t know if I would be able to handle the embarrassment I would feel for her. The cynical part of me wonders if she tried to get the interview to air opposite of Rosie O’Donnell’s special? Luckily for those of us who want to watch both, there is no conflict. Rosie’s special airs earlier in the night on NBC.

Rosie O’Donnell was on The Today Show on Monday: Huffington Post Video (Thanks to Heather in LA for the link)

Defamer Australia thinks that Simon Baker is now at the top of Barbara Walters’s “To-Do List.” (Includes partial video of his interview)

  2. Lala Says:

Part of that will be shown on GMA tomorrow morning too.

NO VIEW INTERVIEW??? What a suprise.

I wonder if she will(be permitted to) show clips.

  3. NanC Says:

June, that was TOO TOO funny, what a hoot, thank you so much, you made my morning!!!

  4. mc5000 Says:

made mine as well. I’m howling at work

  5. Stacee Says:

I don’t think I’ll tune in to watch BW interview the Obamas.

  6. diane10 Says:

Why is that, Stacee? I’m just curious. I do want to watch it but I’m afraid BW will ask some dumb questions.

  7. ShannonP Says:

lol Winnie, BW asking about her dog is what I thought of too. She’ll probably show a picture. Hopefully she’ll conduct herself a lot better during the interview than she does on The View.
Or I can see her really drilling him about his Grandma to try to get the tears or emotion from him.

  8. rainlillie Says:

I won’t be watching either. I was never a fan of those type of shows.

“I can see her really drilling him about his Grandma to try to get the tears or emotion from him.”

I agree, I think she will also talk a lot about race.

  9. susieq Says:

I know we will never find out but I would be willing to bet Barbara had to do some major apologizing to the Obamas for Elisabeth’s behavior at the RNC luncheon.

I also find the timing curious…Me thinks she might be trying to take some of Rosie’s publicity for her show.

  10. wendee Says:

Colmes is leaving fox news, leaving Hannity to continue by himself, since they are not replacing him. So much for fair and balanced :)

  11. wendee Says:

sorry, did not realize there was another off thread topic… guess i am a little behind :)

  12. susan brown Says:

wendee - do you think maybe Elisabeth will be Colmes replacement? hehehe Just something for us all to think about.

  13. Sandy Says:

    Thanks Winnie,
I do want to watch, (both).
I have found that B.W. seems to be more professional when doing interviews, not on The View. ? I don’t know why. Perhaps the other interviews are not live, and may be edited.

  14. susieq Says:

Sandy, I think Barbara’s interviewing style has to do with who she thinks her audience is. She always seems to talk down to the View audience always explaining who or what everything is. I myself find it insulting. I think she thinks her primetime audience is smarter.

  15. Elsie Says:

I thought about it too. It is too coincidential (sp?)that BW special is on the same night as RO’s. On the opening, the voice said that BW was going to make history, or something to that effect. When Whoopi said she was in Chicago, I knew she would be interviewing BO.
