I’m waiting for the on-topic thread to comment on Fake Blondes fake story about fake turkey napkins and fake lines, oh, and did she say she was looking for a toothbrush holder? That’s funny. I’m going to do my best Barbara Walters impression and retell the story of Bitsy brushing her teeth so Tim will fall asleep and she doesn’t have to perform her wifely duties. Have you all heard that? O.K. So, instead of hurrying to bed, Bitsy will take her time brushing and flossing and hoping that her big wonderful quarterback husband falls asleep and she’s off the hook in the hot monkey sex department. O.K. So, now tell the story about the toothbrush holder, Whoopi.

    Hi there!

Elisabeth Hates the Obama family & it shows!

I can’t believe it Elisabeth’s body language & facial expressions when President-elect Barack Obama’s name is made & her eyes are so hateful & her mouth is smerky.

I’m sure they had to tell her to jump in & comment because she sat there looking evil.

She had the nerve to make a comment about McCain not turning over his blackberry which was not a part of the conversation. WHY????

‘E’ is as much a loser as the McCain’s.

She just doesn’t get it-that the better man won & wasn’t APPOINTED.

She has a daughter & when they spoke about the Obama daughters she frowned, I thought she would be a little softer with regards to then from a mother’s point-of-view, but she just can’t let go.

    ‘E’ ENOUGH…….Talk to ya’

  5. lynn c Says:

Eh is boring and annoying on all levels- even her voice gives me shudders. But I’ll tell you, BW and her constant self-promotion is just as bad. I really like the days BW is no present at the table.

  6. lynn c Says:

    “not present at the table”

    Hi there!

Remember, Barabra Waa-Waa has $$ invested in The View sooo…..there’s so much that they will not let her do.

That dog of her’s is a member of the Ugly Dogs Club-he won only 5th place but he’s was the running.

    Talk to ya’

    The New York Times
Bush, Out of Office, Could Oppose Inquiries
    November 12, 2008

WASHINGTON — When a Congressional committee subpoenaed Harry S. Truman in 1953, nearly a year after he left office, he made a startling claim: Even though he was no longer president, the Constitution still empowered him to block subpoenas.

“If the doctrine of separation of powers and the independence of the presidency is to have any validity at all, it must be equally applicable to a president after his term of office has expired,” Truman wrote to the committee.

Congress backed down, establishing a precedent suggesting that former presidents wield lingering powers to keep matters from their administration secret. Now, as Congressional Democrats prepare to move forward with investigations of the Bush administration, they wonder whether that claim may be invoked again.

“The Bush administration overstepped in its exertion of executive privilege, and may very well try to continue to shield information from the American people after it leaves office,” said Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, who sits on two committees, Judiciary and Intelligence, that are examining aspects of Mr. Bush’s policies.

Topics of open investigations include the harsh interrogation of detainees, the prosecution of former Gov. Don Siegelman of Alabama, secret legal memorandums from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel and the role of the former White House aides Karl Rove and Harriet E. Miers in the firing of federal prosecutors.

Mr. Bush has used his executive powers to block Congressional requests for executive branch documents and testimony from former aides. But investigators hope that the Obama administration will open the filing cabinets and withdraw assertions of executive privilege that Bush officials have invoked to keep from testifying.

“I intend to ensure that our outstanding subpoenas and document requests relating to the U.S. attorneys matter are enforced,” said Representative John Conyers Jr., Democrat of Michigan and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. “I am hopeful that progress can be made with the coming of the new administration.”

Also, two advocacy groups, the American Civil Liberties Union and Human Rights First, have prepared detailed reports for the new administration calling for criminal investigations into accusations of abuse of detainees.

It is not clear, though, how a President Barack Obama will handle such requests. Legal specialists said the pressure to investigate the Bush years would raise tough political and legal questions.

  14. Roger from Ohio Says:

alright…… I found this on crooks and liars (my 2nd favorite site)

It is stories like this one that makes me so mad… This woman went to church…. during the sermon, the priest threw a little fit. He said…
“We cannot have a car with Obama signs written on it on these premises. And I don’t care who Obama is.”
He continued: “I want this car off the premises in 10 minutes or it will be towed. Whoever’s vehicle this is, I want it removed. I don’t want to see that car anywhere around here,”

What I would like to know is this…. of all the church going people in here…. what would you do or say if it was your “church leader” saying this at your pulpit?

here is the link if u want to read the whole story.

  15. MiamiVision Says:

Not that I read the Nat’l Enquirer, but I saw in the supermarket yesterday while waiting in the checkout line the November 24th NE issue. Since the NE was correct on the story of Senator John Edwards not very long ago, I thought I’d post this.

On page 10 and 11 of the 11/24/08 NE it says that Barbara Walters was “outraged over co-host’s comment about future first lady” (RNC luncheon) and that “Barbara told her that if Michelle never appeared on the show again, it would be her fault,” and told Elisabeth “she better declare on the air that she supports the country’s pick.”

Hence that bogus speech she gave on The View on 11/5/08, day after Election day.

Barbara “now wants Elisabeth to send Michelle a letter of apology.” The source says “No word yet on how that’s going over, it took all of Elisabeth’s might just to say she’d support Obama.”

Wonder how come we never heard about Barbara’s response(s) prior to this issue of Nov 24th……

  16. NOTIMPRESSED Says:

#14…The priest doesn’t want anyone to declare who their candidate is…especially
any one that is pro-abortion. This is where
and why I believe in seperation of church and state. A priest in Wis. told his congregation to vote McCain…a pro-lifer,
only to have the IRS contact him and tell him
he cannot do that..they could lose their
    Religious exemptions from taxation.

  17. Rachel Anna Says:

#15 - Thanks. A lot makes sense now. And, although I don’t read the National Enquirer either, it’s actually a legitimate publication. They have to have sources!

  18. Kelly Says:

#15 MiamiVision “Wonder how come we never heard about Barbara’s response(s) prior to this issue of Nov 24th…”

Maybe someone from Obama’s camp finally responded to The View’s request for an interview - and singled EH out.

Just one more reason for The View to start taking our comments more seriously.

Fire Elisabeth Babs – you’re losing viewers…and respect. Do you really want to be remembered as the woman who gave the world Elisabeth Hasselbeck?

    http://www.celebitchy.com/category/elisabeth_hasselbeck/

  19. MiamiVision Says:

#17 - It does make a lot of sense why EH is being *different* (not for long, I am sure).

I DID end up buying the NE yesterday (and is why I could quote from it for you all) based on reading that - I wanted the WTV posters to know. I think of all the rags, the NE may be the closest to truth…but the jury is out on that one *lol*

Diocese Repudiates Catholic Priest Who Said Obama Supporters Should Not Seek Communion

A Roman Catholic priest in South Carolina is being reined in by his own diocese for saying parishioners who voted for Barack Obama should not seek communion until they have repented.

  21. MiamiVision Says:

#18 Kelly - I agree they should take our views seriously but I only think Sheri reads this board. Just as important, they are losing some fabulous famous people who probably won’t ever come back to The View (The Estefans, Manilow, Shirley MacLaine, et al) need I/we go on? Most people are not masochists LOL

Yeah, Babs is going down not in such a good light….oh well, it’s all about choice, even for 79 year olds. *winks*

  22. heather speaks Says:

elizabeth looks petty and small with her smirking. if the election went the other way, she’d be sure to mention it everyday and kiss up to the mccain family. she was always at the white his in the previous administration. wonder if she’ll get an invite? out of all the panelists, i hope joy gets lots and lots of invites..she deserves it.

  23. mibi Says:

I have a pal whose minister was preaching against those that voted obama and she said she and others she knows are leaving this church and churchs like it. She said hey they get tax exeption not to preach politics. I agree. They can teach whatever principle they like but leave the politics out of it. Of course i’m jaded.

  24. susan brown Says:

MiamiVision, I don’t believe 99% of what NE prints, but I thank you for your comment. And, I believe this is the 1% story that is true. EH is still so smug and nasty, except when BW is on the program. Today EH sat next to Joy and you could almost feel the hate coming thru the TV screen. I don’t believe any of that baloney that Joy/EH are still friends after The View shuts down programming. Does ANYONE know when Joy and/or EH contract is due for renewal? Are Joy’s unexplained absences time outs from BW? Enquiring minds want to know.

  25. susieq Says:

These priests and preachers are the same ones, I’m sure, that told their congregations to vote for George Bush and look at how well that turned out…If you believe God punishes for bad behavior then He must have been really upset with Bush winning.
These churches can’t have it both ways…They either stay out of politics or they pay taxes. And by the way, why do these churches love McCain? He is an admitted adulterer who is divorced.

Regarding the NE story…I would be inclined to believe it. You just know Barbara is dying to interview the Obamas. She always makes it a point to say she has interviewed every First Couple since Nixon. Even if the Obamas themselves didn’t hear about Elisabeth’s behavior at the RNC I’m sure their staff did and I don’t think Barbara will be rewarded with an interview for continuing to employee someone who disrepected the First Lady.

  26. Kelly Says:

mibi - am I glad to hear that! I am ready for a rebirth of clean religion.

How many of these religious leaders are more concerned about their dwindling power than they are about your salvation?

I watched Jesus Camp - and have so much to say on the topic - but will have to wait another day to really get into it. I want to watch it one more time.

Anyone who thinks religion isn’t trying to control our government needs to watch this film.

  27. NanW. Says:

    Kelly,
I totally forgot about that documentary, Jesus Camp. Thanks for the reminder. I am going to watch it in the next day or so through Netflix. Please keep us posted on your thoughts.

  28. MiamiVision Says:

#24 - Susan Brown - I agree, feel the vibes all the way thru the TV. The only thing I know is that EH’s contract is up for renewal in April of 2009….hope they don’t renew it.

#25 - susieq - I do believe that the Obama’s definitely know about the RNC luncheon comment that EH made. Some folks wrote to them at their headquarter site where they had a place to choose what kind of email you wanted to send them. They did read their emails over there and/or their staff did and reported back to them and then, let’s not forget, it was ALL over the web for weeks to a couple of months, and still is. I read about The Obama’s for a long time now, and I also saw them on 60 minutes last night. BO is computer tech savvy and has been online for years and years, as has Michelle. Like he said, he “isn’t stupid…he won the presidency!”

I hope they don’t go onto the View and not give them even individually any interview. It would guarantee actually that EH’s contract does NOT get renewed, in my mind.

One can wish now, can’t they? *L*

  29. lynn c Says:

If the Obamas appear on any daytime talk fest, don’t you think it will be Oprah? She backed them from the beginning and deserves the interview. Certainly they shouldn’t appear on The View unless EH was not present. Even BW annoys me so much these days I am hoping the O’s would not be interviewed by her, unless it is far into Pres. O’s second term…….:)

  30. Sandy Says:

    # 14 Roger,
    I’ll answer.
First I’m about 99.9% positive that my church leader would never say a thing like that. I’ve been there for some time, that’s why I’m so confidant.
If it did happen, I’d find another church, or no church.
I’ve said many times that I don’t believe in religious leaders being involved in politics.

    # 23,mibi
You are not jaded at all. I so agree with you.

  31. Mz Elle Says:

    Hi there!

Elisabeth’s sucking-up was the pits, sickening & she’s a liar because when they spoke about President-elect Obama family ‘E’ sat like a zombie until someone shouted in her ear to jump in.

I know ‘E’ cries EACH & every night & her so-called friendS are riding her but..but good.

‘E’ NEEDS TO LEAVE THE VIEW!!
