Watching the View Podcast 5-02-08

by

Hi all. Here is another podcast. I think the sound is better this time, although still a bit quiet at the beginning. It improves over the course of the show. I think that my microphone is just not that great. If you can’t hear it well, try listening through headphones. Some people said that worked well last time. Or you can download it from iTunes and listen on your MP3 player.

On this show:
* Poll Results
* Strange referral
* A Message from Sherri Shepherd
* Rosie O’Donnell’s book Crafty U

    Hey Wendy, I mean Winnie LOL!! Thanks for that podcast, it was my favorite one you’ve done so far! I was laughing during that first part, I thorougly enjoyed listening to it :)
    I’m really glad Sherri was able to read her birthday messages, and I’m glad it put a smile on her face. I think its great she’s able to come and read the messages from time to time, I dont think I would be able to read any negative comments about myself so I give her a lot of credit.. and I think she should just believe in herself.
    As for the BG part, all I know is that EH gets a pep talk before the show, while no one else does. I’m not sure if thats changed this year but thats how it used to be. I didnt really think he told people they couldnt say certain things, but maybe others thought so??
    Also, I’m looking forward to reading your review for “Crafty U”, it looks like a fun book. Ok, I think I’ve rambled enough, lol. Thanks again Winnie for the podcast!

    GREAT podcast, heard Winnie clear as a bell and it was so informative. Glad to hear Sherri reads here. Thanks!!

    I didn’t believe the BG part of Sherri’s message to us though. She would protect her boss(es). *lol* And we know some of them use that earpiece because Rosie told us about it when she was on the view.

  3. Sandy Says:

    Thanks Winnie,
    Great podcast, and I really appreciate you taking the time to do it, and sharing your thoughts with us.
    Now I know why Stephanie, said “hey Wendy”. :)
    Wow, I never thought about the amount of e mail you must get about your blog, and all sorts of things concerning the hosts, and the show. Makes me appreciate you more, all the work and reading you have to got through. :)
    I was surprised to hear about the amount of negative and angry mail that you get concerning Joy. Not sure why I was surprised. Sadly I guess it stands to reason, when I consider the negative comments concerning Elisabeth.
    By this I mean the “political” differences.
    Politics can be very dividing. I wish that wasn’t so, because I honestly feel that we all want the same things. (know that I’m not saying all negative comments about E.H. are because of her political opinions).
    I’m happy to hear that Sherri got to read her birthday wishes. I’m so glad that Winnie thought to put it up. :)

    I guess I’ll accept what Sherri says about BG not telling what to discuss or to tone things down. She didn’t have to mention it at all, if it were not true.

    great podcast .. heard it loud & clear. Thanks so much, Winnie.

    So people send you emails as if you are part of the show? How annoying. But funny at times. Thanks for sharing, Wendy!

    Goodness, of course Sherrie would feel she would have to say that about BG. We have no choice but to “accept” it since we can’t know for ourselves. But let’s be real here. In fact, I think the very fact she mentioned means it probably is not true. She might be scared to not make an effort to make him look good.

    I’m glad Sherrie enjoyed the birthday messages.

    Not all criticism is equal, or the same. And just because someone criticizes doesn’t mean what they say isn’t true.

    I would give my right arm to see the angry e-mails about Joy and how they compare with the angry comments written here whenever EH distorts the truth and acts rude.

    I also wonder about the people Winnie mentioned who like EH. How much of it is because of her hair-do or clothes; and how much of it is because they just like her personality and don’t realize she is misrepresenting the facts about important issues. How much of it is because people agree with her distortions?

    How can I get tickets to see The View???

  6. Winnie's Secretrary Says:

    Michele, the View’s link on ABC’s website used to have information about tickets & probably still does. This blog isn’t part of the show.

    Hi Winnie:
    Great podcast. Nice to know Sherri reads the comments. I am liking her more and more as time goes by. I guess Elisabeth does have her fanbase, although I am not one of them. I do like Joy and recognize that she can be abrasive. But, she seems the most well-read. Maybe Sherri will tell us what comes through the earpieces?
    Thanks for what you do.
    Alyce
