Whoopi Goldberg calls Sarah Palin “A Very Dangerous Woman”
Whoopi Goldberg is bordering on blogging-addict (coming from me, who is on her seventh post for today) as she has posted another entry at her WowOWow blog, this one about Sarah Palin’s speech at the Republican National Convention.
Her entry echoed many of the comments that she made on today’s show, namely Palin’s discarding of Barack Obama’s work as a community organizer.
Whoopi also discussed the pregnancy of Palin’s daughter and wrote, “But I find it interesting that if this girl was Chelsea Clinton or black she probably wouldn’t have been treated the same way. When a black teenager gets pregnant she’s a welfare mother. When this teenager, when this nice white-lady-girl-teenager gets pregnant, it’s an Evangelical Christian choice. She’s unwed, and so how do we balance that? I guess the spin is the way to do it.”
She also wrote that Palin “is a very dangerous woman, because I believe for her intents and purposes, she’s OK if everybody lives a certain way, that is to say, the way God ordained men and women to be. Well, already she’s breaking that because she’s the daddy. She’s going to run the country and the husband is going to take care of the kids.”
Whoopi also wrote that she was “saddened by this woman because I think she has contempt for people who don’t believe as she believes and there’s no discussion and the smile doesn’t help. Because remember now, this is the lady who believes that everything that happens is ordained by God including, I guess, the Iraq war and President Bush’s stances on many things.”
You can read her entire entry, where she also calls Rudolph Giuliani a “bonehead” and “an elitist” at her WowOWow blog.
The View, Whoopi Goldberg, Sarah Palin

September 4th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
I wonder why Whoopi didn’t take it this far on the show? Seriously, the republicans are trying to sell us a line of bull! As soon as I heard Cindy McCain say Palin has foreign policy experience because Alaska is close to Russia, I knew this was one big farce. Even my children LOL at that.
Now they’re complaining the media is being too tough on her, if she can’t handle a few snotty reporters, how can she take on the terrorists?
September 4th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Whoopi said: “I also thought that this idea of America first coming from her was kind of strange because she was one of the people who wanted to succeed from the United States. She was part of a campaign to succeed Alaska from the United States of America. So I’m glad she’s back, putting America first.”
Oh, Whoopi, it’s SECEDE not SUCCEED.
But overall, I think she writes so much better than she expresses herself on the View!
September 4th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
Whoopi always says that McCain is a “great guy.” She now knows that this “great guy”, picked this ” dangerous woman” to be his VP.
September 4th, 2008 at 6:26 pm
I’m very disappointed with Whoopi’s current attitude. I used to really adore Whoopi, for being honest and fair. It seems like she has blinders on for Obama. (Please note that I’m one of those undecided female voters from Florida, a registered Democrat too.)
Even though I don’t agree with the Republican party’s position on many issues, I decided to watch what goes on at the convention. The truth is that Palin did an excellent job in her speech — she’s probably as gifted a speaker as Obama is really. And she was doing her job! She wasn’t half as negative as Biden was in his attacks at the DNC’s convention.
Whoopi and Joy Behar (and to some extent Barbara) should be ashamed at their comments about Palin. These are women who’ve taken full advantage of the opportunities for women in the last 30 years. So what if Palin doesn’t have the same opinions as they do — is it that Whoopi, Joy, and Barbara (supposedly an objective journalist) are only for female citizens exercising their rights and expressing their opinions that don’t offend them? It’s for Palin and her husband to decide how they run their family — just as it is up to Obama and his wife how they run theirs!! I’m glad Palin is in the running now and I’m going to be watching and listening to find out what she might have to offer. Also, not that I agree with Elizabeth’s opinions — but for Goodness Sakes, let the woman speak! The other women are terrible about dismissing Elizabeth; it makes me want to change the channel. I think it makes a lot of us want to change the channel, and that’s going to be a problem for the View. Some of us like to hear “Views” that differ from our own — apparently Whoopi, Joy, and Barbara just aren’t tolerant enough to do so.

Palin opened the door for Biden when she portrayed herself as a pitbull with lipstick. I hopr he gets a chance to tell her she’s not Hillary Clinton. She is an ambitious person with no qualms about who she steps on to get to the top. Did anyone else notice the smug, patronizing look she gave when she hugged McCain after his almost giddy ‘what do you think of my choice for VP now’? He’d better watch his back. This is a very ambitious person.
The Repubs always bait the Dems.. And then everyone backs down, ‘don’t want to be impolite or anything;’.
What happened to Rush L. and Dr. Laura’s big stance on a women staying home with their children and not taking responsibility? I’m as so tired of the Rebubs self righteous stance until it hits one of their own.
Why don’t the Democrats bring up McCains 5 years of infidelity when he came back from Vietnam. Cindy is his trophy wife and one of the women McCain was cheating with. The Democrats always try to take the high road and are cut off at the pass by the lying, cheating, fake Christians. I’m a Christian and I’m sick of being portrayed as a heathen and just a little righteously indignant!

I really don’t understand why so many people value the political views of entertainers above those of ordinary hard working Americans. I really enjoy watching Whoopi perform in movies, but I think her opinions are very biased and because of that she lacks credibility to offer a political opinion. I am still looking at both tickets. Now it will be up to the candidates to explain to me “how they are going to change America,” not just rhetoric saying they are going to do it! Substance and character are issues that are important to me. As I remember, Whoopi was a big supporter of Bill Clinton. During his second term we discovered his real character when he continued to lie to the American People.
September 5th, 2008 at 8:17 am
PRIOR POST: . During his second term we discovered his real character when he continued to lie to the American People.
Let’s see. Bill lied about sex with a consenting adult, and used his political power, weakened as it was, to get rid of the deficit.
McCain had affairs, called his wife a C***, made fun of Chelsea’s physical appearance - while she was still a child!!! - but this isn’t a character issue?
Bush lied to take us into a war, but this isnt’ a character issue?
I think the “character” issue has been contorted. I think it was very wrong to lie under oath, and very wrong to play around with a consenting adult young enough and naive enough to be his daughter. Makes him lousy husband and lousy friend. But I think the effect on the nation was less than lying us into a war - which makes him a lousy president and lousy commander-in-chief

Let’s face it, Palin is a corrupt, unknown governor who came out of nowhere portraying herself as miss- goody- two- shoes. Whoopi is right, Palin is extremely dangerous & anyone who does any research will agree.
Also, certain people who blog here pretending to be open minded Democrats aren’t fooling anyone.
September 5th, 2008 at 9:09 am
Ms. Palin can raise her family as she chooses. I choose to vote for someone who has a little more education to be president. A degree in Journalism just isn’t enough for me.
September 5th, 2008 at 9:37 am
From MoveOn.org
If elected, McCain would be the oldest president ever inaugurated. And after months of slamming Barack Obama for “inexperience,” here’s who John McCain has chosen to be one heartbeat away from the presidency: a right-wing conservative with no foreign policy experience.
Who is Sarah Palin? Here’s some basic background:
· She was elected Alaska ’s governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.
· Palin has close ties to Big Oil. Her inauguration was even sponsored by BP.
· She’s solidly in line with John McCain’s “Big Oil first” energy policy. She’s pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won’t be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.
· Palin doesn’t believe that humans contribute to global warming. Speaking about climate change, she said, “I’m not one though who would attribute it to being manmade.”
· Palin has actively sought the support of the fringe Alaska Independence Party. Six months ago, Palin told members of the group—who advocate for a vote on secession from the union—to “keep up the good work” and “wished the party luck on what she called its ‘inspiring convention.’”
· Palin recently said that the war in Iraq is “God’s task.” She’s even admitted she hasn’t thought about the war much—just last year she was quoted saying, “I’ve been so focused on state government, I haven’t really focused much on the war in Iraq.”
· Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.
· She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.
· Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.
· Palin opposes comprehensive sex-ed in public schools. She’s said she will only support abstinence-only approaches.
· How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.
· As mayor, Palin tried to ban books from the library. Palin asked the library how she might go about banning books because some had inappropriate language in them—shocking the librarian, Mary Ellen Baker. According to Time, “news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving “full support” to the mayor.”
· She DID support the Bridge to Nowhere (before she opposed it). Palin claimed that she said “thanks, but no thanks” to the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. But in 2006, Palin supported the project repeatedly, saying that Alaska should take advantage of earmarks “while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.”

I’ll say what Whoopi’s afraid to…
Palin/McCain = Big Oil = Big Problems for America
Big Oil = War in Iraq = thousands dead
Big Oil = No Middle Class = Bad Economy
Big Oil Billions in Profits + Billions in Gov. Subsidies = Trillions in USA debt
China now owns the USA. Since the War, Big Oil makes RECORD profits while receiving RECORD US Gov. Subsidies complements of Bush.
Don’t be fooled, Big Oil really wants Sarah Palin as President – she sold Alaska to Big Oil and they know she will sell the USA. The same maneuvers Big Oil used to make her Governor of Alaska, they are now using to make her VP of America…and then President. She would run with unlimited funds…and we all know money = power, and THAT kind of money = absolute power.
McCain SHOULD watch his back. This women is dangerous.
Big Oil even dropped gas prices recently to assist the Palin/McCain campaign.
Pit Bull in lipstick? Try Devil in High Heels.
You think the last eight years were bad – we haven’t seen NOTHING yet if Palin goes to DC.
September 5th, 2008 at 11:38 am
speaking of trolls…… Ladies and gentlemen, I give you “Kelly”, one of the Obama thug trolls who infiltrate their talking points onto any site/blog they can find. I give them credit…they’re GOOD.
September 5th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Well, here we go again. Rosie was a complete fool lacked any balance whatsoever, and was an embarrassment to the show. I have been so relieved to see Whoopie join the show and show just a little balance - now she is exhibiting the same behavior as Rosie. What is with you old, angry, insanely liberal women this unfortunately includes Barbara) ? It is always good to listen to opposing points of view, however, your show has become nothing more than than an extremely biased polotical exibition. Further, don’t even bother to advise that Elizabeth is there to speak for the other side, she is simply too weak to take on you old burned out uneducated broads as you spew your toxin on anyone who is not an extreme left wing liberal. What a shame.

I wish Whoopi would be a little more straight forward on the show as she appears to be on the blog.
I am also a bit amazed that she is using the web now. Perhaps she will now do more research and be better prepared on the show?
By the way, way to go Kelly!
Linda21, I agree.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Kelly, you are correctly stating the facts of the gop today. I hope that the dems get up the courage to present these facts at the debates and quit being so namby-pamby “oh lets don’t hurt their feelings” carp. Get some guts O’bama and don’t wind up like Kerry did, being run over and not fighting the h*** back soon enough! The gop will stop at NOTHING to keep the white house for 8 more years..McCain even tries to distance himself from bush now while he has been in his pocket for the entire time. God help us all if “Mr Mcgoo” and his beauty queen get in office.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
Thank you! Thank you, Michael…I mean Tony!
I’m flattered. But not a troll – I’ve only posted on two sites – and I’ve been here for a while. Can’t refute any of it can you? It’s the truth.
I don’t lie. And I don’t cover-up for liars…

September 5th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
I don’t lie either…life long Dem here not voting for Bambi. I’ll take you at your word if you take me at mine…..and who’s Michael??
September 5th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Michael’s just this guy who had a special way of endearing himself to us.
You vote for McKen and Oil Barbie…
And I’ll vote for Bambi…I love Bambi…Great Prince of the Forest.
And I’ll sleep well at night.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Rene Rord, why are you upset that Whoopi has a blog to discuss her personal views when Elizabeth gets to do it on the show. I find it unfair that Elizabeth gets to report on the RNC while the DNC was completely ignored. I know they were on hiatis but they still could have sent someone to cover it.
September 5th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
agreed….
September 5th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
actually I’ve not decided that I’m voting for McC…I just can’t vote for BO
September 5th, 2008 at 12:54 pm
May,
It takes great strength and courage for Obama to continue to take the high road. I wouldn’t vote for him if he behaved like the opposition.
The speech he gave at the DNC, showed you what he’s made of.
September 5th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
lets recap…rosie was portrayed as being too leftwing, someone with her own agenda…if she did have an agenda it was to bring knowledge and compassion to people who need it ie. depression, autism. elisabeth’s agenda is to further the lies and misuse of power of this republican administration…and from what i can see sarah palin is just dick cheney in a dress
September 5th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Kelly, Good posts! The right wing Tonys of the world LOVE their talking points, they just can’t take the truth, because their truth is what has brought down this country .
September 5th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Uh Linda…I think what Kelly posted are also “talking points”…and FYI, I’m not a member of the right wing.
September 5th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
They’re not talking points if nobody’s talking about them!
September 5th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
oh really…is that why John McCain beat Obama in the ratings for his speech ?
September 5th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
Wha? Not.
McCain Speech ——Grade D http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/04/rnc.reportcard.mccain/index.html
Obama Speech ——Grade A
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/28/dnc.reportcard.obama/
Gallup Poll: Obama 48%, McCain 44%
September 5th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Kelly,
I guess you did not see the rating numbers yet. Sen McCain had 1/2 million more viewers than Sen. Obama during his acceptance speech.
September 5th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
No amount of numbers will change what a horrible speech it was that McCain gave. He was a robot. There was no heart or soul or anything to that speech. I honestly could not believe how bad it was.
September 5th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
No Ron in Japan - he did not.
Obama and McCain had exactly the same viewership - you’re adding Sarah’s audience.
See FoxNews.com - and read past the misleading headline and the misleading text and pull out the truth.
42.4 million a piece. Thank you.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
wow…the Dems must be nervous…a bounce in the polls, the huge ratings, the huge crowds, and the Repubs are REALLY energized…yikes…the race is ON !!
September 5th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
Kelly - You are correct and my figures were wrong. I looked at the totals minus PBS. Those figures gave Sen. McCain 1/2 million more viewers. When PBS was added it was a dead heat! Thanks for keeping the stats factual.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:52 pm
Oh. By the way! The dead heat between Senators McCain and Obama that I referred to did not include Gov. Palin’s or Sen. Biden’s numbers!
October 3rd, 2008 at 6:49 am
Actually, the reason of 42.4 millions viewers was Sarah Palin.
